Their main complaint is that their vote doesn't count, effectively, because the down state counties are more populous.  This is laughable.

Although, I can understand if they are considered about disproportionate representation, as compared to being drowned out.  I mean in the US House of Representatives, which is supposed to be a proportionate body, 52% of the people voting for a representative in the last election voted for the political party which represents 47% of the House, while 48% voted for the party that represents 53% of the House.  We can't seem to understand proportionality at the national level.

Protocol switch complete Smiley - Fun watching the coin change diff after each block!

With excitement, without problems. Just the way we like it!

Looks like the days of loading up on low diff ANC are over.  Its going to be hard to mine now with the difficulty keeping pace with the hash rate.

Any idea why CoinChoose is showing a 17.42 block reward?

Fixed - not sure why I was but was the reward different in the past?

That is true - Dreamwatcher is doing some great work over there with CCEIII Smiley.  The current CCE block explorers are the only ones I really trust as it is so happy to see what happens.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 10:33:02 PM
Before I get 10000000 posts yelling - CryptoCoinExplorer in an effort to reduce bandwidth has banned my polling of their block explorers.  This has affected ANY coin they have listed on their site as having a block explorer (FTC, CHN, NVC, PPC, TRC, BBQ, BTE, BTB, DGC, JKC, Franko, GLD, WDC, CRaftcoin).  They offer a great service and unfortunately, CoinChoose has impacted their service for other users, and we have agreed not to work to resolve it.

It will take some time, but I will just be bringing up coin daemons for each of these and downloading the block chain.  I apologize for any inconvenience.

Quote
The communications director for the Texas Nationalist Movement, Jeff Sadighi, shrugged off the White House response and pointed to a section of the State Constitution that says Texans have the right “to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.”

Me thinks Mr. Sadighi doesn't really understand the US system of government if he believes a state constitutional provision granting the right to change that states constitution (effectively) grants rights to a significant minority to pull that said state out of the union because they happen to dislike the results of a republican democracy.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Explorer - Alt Coin Block Explorer. Now hosting 15 Coins!! on: August 20, 2013, 10:25:08 PM
Server 1 is backup again.

I had to ban some IP addresses that were hitting the server pretty hard.

If you have a legit service that uses CCE for an information source and you find your IP banned, send me a PM so we can sort it out.

You knocked me out again Smiley

I'll just switch to local daemons (ready for the million posts on my thread about how I am colluding against certain coins by removing them in 3...2...).
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Explorer - Alt Coin Block Explorer. Now hosting 15 Coins!! on: August 20, 2013, 09:48:23 PM
All I need to difficulty, blockcount and, if possible, current networkhashrate and  I am good.

States seceding from the terrorist organization illuminati aka U.S.A.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262225.0

So - no states are seceding.
329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: States seceding from the terrorist organization illuminati aka U.S.A. on: August 20, 2013, 09:47:10 PM
Ten Colorado counties would like to ditch the rest of the state Colorado
(own by the terrorist organization illuminati aka the Bilderberg Group).

http://www.westword.com/2013-08-08/news/secession-of-colorado-counties/

Actually, ten counties that don't understand republican democracy want to leave Colorado because, well, they are whiners and when they fail at the ballot box, they look to other measures.

The Feathercoin daemon crashed out again. I have restarted it with a lower max connections parameter in hopes of stopping this crash issue.

Also be aware that ABE calculates the difficulty somewhat independently of the daemon, so its number can be slightly different then the daemon.

For example the daemon reports: 193.94881043 right now, while ABE reports 193.951.

I am not going to make any major changes to ABE, as the CCEIII project eliminates this issue.

I know it is going away soon, but I think FTC is stuck.

http://ftc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/chain/Feathercoin/q/getdifficulty - is reporting wrong.

Sounds good.  Which reminds me - I need to figure out how to access CCEIII or, more likley, just switch to local daemons.  Have you figured out the API / commercial access and the cost?
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 03:24:29 PM
Again - I get my stats from Cryptocoinexplorer - was it correct at the time?

Sal, where can I see the difficulty on http://ftc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/ ?

332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 02:38:59 PM

Incorrect. The difficulty change happened around 11pm eastern time last night and dropped to 137, and then about 2 hours ago, went back to 193.

So yes, your stats are correct now, but no, this is the 2nd time that I've noticed the drop was not seen by coinchoose. I can say other sites showed it.

Again - I get my stats from Cryptocoinexplorer - was it correct at the time?
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 02:38:12 PM
FTC Difficulty changes.. Why do they seem to always lag behind in updates when Difficulty drops?

I concur, I am trying to implement auto switching between FTC and LTC but I cannot because coinchoose says FTC difficulty is 193 whereas its actually 137.  Can we get this fixed it would be most appreciated.

thanks

I am using Cryptocoinexplorer to get the difficulty for FTC.  It appears there must be an issue there and I will reach out to the person who runs that site.

Wouldn't it make sense to use stats.feathercoin.com?

It does now, although I get a LITTLE weary to use a block explorer controlled by the coin developers.  I may just bring up a FTC daemon locally and use that instead.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 02:37:15 PM
Well, to be fair - cryptocoinexplorer missed the diff drop Smiley  Was their a code change that allowed the diff drop to occur?  That is usually why sites miss changes - the code changes and an older version is still powering the site.

I am, more or less, moving to local daemons as well, and just maintaining all these coins can get out of hand.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 20, 2013, 02:23:38 PM

Just to add:
Quarkcoins diff is 256 times off:
this means on bitcoin, litecoin and so on you need at average 2^32 hashes for a diff 1 target, in Quarkcoin you need at average only 2^24 (for diff 1 target)
So if you wan't to compare the diff with other coins, you need to divide the divv by 256.

What about comparing Quark to Primecoin and Memorycoin.  Is there a conversion between those two coins as well?  I know the percentages between BTC will be off, but really the point of the page is comparing similar coins.

Hi- I'm running a script that pulls JSON data from your site, and apparently my IP has been banned. Am I pulling data too often? I was running every one minute, now I"m changing it to 5. I'll go even longer if you'd prefer. Let me know.

Or maybe the problem is something else?

"The owner of this website (www.coinchoose.com) has banned your access based on your browser's signature. (Ref. 1010)"

Sorry if I've been taxing your servers or anything, it wasn't my intention!

It can handle once a minute, but the data shouldn't change that often (it is about every 5 now as the site got larger).

I'm getting this error regardless of the update time. Any ideas? The script is in python.

Have you tried setting a UserAgent in your code (below in PHP):

         URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();
          conn.setRequestProperty("User-Agent", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB;     rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)");
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: August 20, 2013, 02:20:22 PM
Sal,  here's a more reliable source for ftc
http://api.feathercoin.com/?output=stats

Ahh!!  So the current difficulty is still 193, but the next diff is lower.  So, it seems my stats are still correct??

well - now if I can figure out the block reward from memorycoin....then I can finish this page.

there is no way that is correct.I'm mining both and i can tell you 100% that you will make a lot more mining quarkcoin selling and buying prime if prime is what you want.

try it on 2 identical machines, quarks roll in primes do not.

Probably why this page is still on the side and not ready for prime time.  I will take it down as the comparison still doesn't seem quite that easy.

You need to PM me your IP.  CloudFlare likely identified you as an attack.
