If you're going to be generating heat through electricity, might as have it do some useful work. They use a money converter like Bitpay or Coinase to handle the transaction. They are effectively stealing funds away the major credit cards. The real benefit on their end will be realized when you can swap international currencies (currently they only allow BTC payment in the US it looks like). |

While the new rig will eat a little into current profits it won't deplete them. Then after your current hashing power has paid for the new rig you'll be hashing more power and getting a quicker return, replenishing those lost profits. Several ways to look at it I guess. Didn't want to start a debate, but just how other miners mentally figure out if it's worth to buy a new rig or not. I'm pretty sure there are lots of miners here that have bought gear knowing it would never ROI, but with the help of their current hashing power overlook that and move forward.
I guess what you are trying to say is that miners who have made a profit in the past have enough capital to waste on buying more current miners. Yes this is true. Ultimately it is a bad decision since you are throwing away your income to the hardware vendors. |

Profit does not depend on bitcoin price. If you're depending on the price you could simply buy the BTC directly and wait on it. Profit depends on mining more BTC during the useful life of the miner than the cost of the miner (in terms of BTC). Almost every miner available will be a loss. Even if Bitcoin goes to $10k USD you will still be at a loss considering you could have received more coins buying them than mining. This is even with the consideration of free electricity. |

As long as BTC goes up, you can certainly make a profit. You just have to buy with fiat (i.e., either convert fiat to BTC and buy antminers, or buy antminers and then buy back the BTC with fiat). If you just buy with BTC you already have, it will be difficult.
That's not really making a profit. That's gaining more fiat based on the exchange rate. You need to compare how much BTC the miner costs currently as opposed to how much the miner can mine during it's useful life. Almost every miner will currently return a loss. |
