3221  Economy / Speculation / Re: The arrival of new people in the world of cryptocurrency is really fun on: August 27, 2021, 08:33:11 PM
It's impressive to see new people keep coming and want to know more about the cryptocurrency world as a whole, google brings new users here to find out what we really should be doing in bitcointalk in particular and cryptocurrencies in general.
Continue to take advantage of this opportunity, learn more sources to expand knowledge, I also want to say welcome to join Bro, this is the most fun discussion place and can provide financial benefits for anyone who has joined, with terms and conditions still valid.

SPIRIT FRIENDS

It's a cycle, same with the 2017 bull run, a lot of people started to get interest on BTC and thinks it's a get rich scheme. I also remember threads saying they quit their job and concentrate on being a trader. But what happens next after the bearish trend? Not sure if those newbies regret quitting their job or if they did if they make the same money during the bear market.

So there is an opportunity but it's going to be hard as you might lose money if you don't know what you are doing. And then the cycle repeats itself, we are in a bull run again so many are attracted but I do hope that they make the right decision joining crypto sphere.

Hi, i received a blackmail mail the 26th july, with a bitcoin adress supposed to be the one
of the blackmailer. Is there a way to signal it ?

Here is the adress :
14hAMscYjeKe9WCfCHJXDgJ8SH1pg84GhX

I'm assuming that the criminals told you that they know your passwords or they have a nude photo of yours or probably telling you that they have access to your bank account etc.

As for the address, there's a lot of traces in the internet that those address have been used for extortion already.

3223  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pacquiao vs Ugas rematch on: August 27, 2021, 12:22:11 PM
Well, I think and this is just my opinion, Manny just want to make his name becomes popular just because the election campaign was  about to start that timeframe. I think he should have made his decision already on the retiring process, he just need to realize that his body isn't the same as his prime.

I believe it's not about the upcoming election, he is very popular already and a loss does not help him. He already made money and according to the news, he made half a billion pesos in that fight, so IMO, it's enough to fund his campaign and if he fights again, that's another bonus plus a claim to avenge his loss.

I agree, it doesn't mean a thing about the election though. I mean he is already popular and I don't see him coming back and by chance winning will also increase his chance of winning the presidential race. One reason I can think of is that he wanted to avenge his loss simply as that because he knows he can perform better if not for the leg cramps he he suffer (excuse???). So let's see if this is true that he wanted to have a rematch and Ugas wanted to give it to him.
3224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: August 27, 2021, 10:04:16 AM
~
he will get the best trainers
Easy there. It's more like he will get the trainers he knows and he could afford to pay. For sure they're good but I wouldn't claim they're the best.

I hope both fighters take this one seriously and try to knock each other Grin We will probably see some showboating from Silva like he usually does before he got KO'd by Weidman.

If I'm not mistaken he showed that kind of showboating in the JCC fight, but Chavez was afraid to go inside and test Silva's chin that why he losses the fight.

For sure Ortiz might have some showboating as well, we all know that during his prime years with UFC he is full of trash talking until the opponent shut up that big mouth of his.  Grin. So let's see what kind of  promotion he will do for this fight.
3225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 27, 2021, 08:34:02 AM
^^ It seems that you are in winning streak mate, good to hear that.

So it will be Carreno-Busta vs Ivasha, I think Carreno-Busta will win in this match in two sets after this great showing in his last game, -3.5 @1.98 is a very attractive.

Gasquet vs Ruusuvuori, relatively unknown Ruusuvuori surprise entry of the tournament, reaching as far as the QF. I think with Gasquet experience, he will overcome Ruusuvuori in 3 sets here, or over 22.5.

Just watching the Carreno Busta v Ivashka match and Ivashka has taken the first
set tie break. Looking at the stats for that first set it looks like Ivashka's service game
is better. I hope Pablo can do the job here and take the next 2 sets.

I have repeated my bet from yesterday, Carreno Busta and Tiafoe, who beat Monteiro.

I must admit, I'm totally wrong with my predictions regarding Carreno-Busta vs Ivasha. Ivasha really played perfect game to beat Pablo in his game.

Same with the Gasquet vs Ruusuvuori, it was under and Ruusuvuori just over powered specially in the second set.

So a lot of surprises, nevertheless it will be these two that will face in the SF, Ivashka vs Ruusuvuori.
3226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good ways to trade? on: August 27, 2021, 07:24:32 AM
Hi I am new to crypto and wonder what are some of the best technical indicators to use for trading?

Maybe you can research this terms:

  • Bolinger Bands
  • Stochastic RSI

Usually this is being used by short term traders.

For those who have experience and been trading for mid. term goal, look for Fibonacci retracement.

For long term holders, no technical indicators, simple HODL.
3227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: August 26, 2021, 04:38:23 PM
Not a big fan of Caleb Plant, but I want him to win this match. Canelo cheated GGG of victories not once, but twice (with some help from subhuman judge Adelaide Byrd). Anyway, in this case Plant is from the United States, and I expect the judges to be more neutral. For him, this is the biggest fight so far in his career. BTW, I guess this is the first time we are having a four-belt unification fight, after a long duration (for any weight category). Currently Josh Taylor (Light welterweight) is the only boxer who have managed to unify all the four belts. BTW, there are rumors that Alvarez may move to light heavyweight after this fight.

If he beat Caleb Plant then he has clean this division already. But he also said that this is his weight classes. So we really don't know for sure if he is still willing to move up to LHW, although he had done it before and beat Kovalev. There are 2 champions that are waiting for him, Bivol and Beterviev, but those two are non-American and not that popular so if the money might not be there. But it will be a good fight for sure for Canelo for either one of those champions.
3228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 26, 2021, 01:12:22 PM
Man, I didn't know Van Exel was on the sidelines in different teams until now.  Grin
Nick Van Exel returns to Atlanta Hawks as assistant coach
Good news for the Hawks.
He had been a player development instructor for quite some time with different players and teams and now he will be in the front to assist them and try to win a championship.
After a good run from the Hawks last season I thought they won't even change anything. But this is good, they are upgrading in the coaching side instead of trading players.

I don't know the track record of Van Exel but I know he is one of the great players in the NBA back in 90's IIRC.  Hawks had an unexpected run last season, they don't change their lineup, they just need to ensure that they are healthy next season especially their star player Trae Young.

He was once a Laker and played with Kobe early on Bryant's career.

I would say that he is a decent shooting guard, a lefty if I remember and very quick. So if we hear news of players getting a position whether assistant coach or development instructor it's very welcoming because they can mentor any player on the team itself and give them guidance and tips because they have the experience to back it up. Speaking of Hawks, yeah, it was great run last year, who would have thought that they beat the NYK and then the Sixers. Sad though that Trae Young got injured, but hopefully he will remain healthy next season.

3230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here’s what traders expect now that Bitcoin price rallied back to $50K on: August 26, 2021, 10:46:41 AM
The ATH level should be the next immediate target. From what I have seen, there were no major resistance levels, from the journey from 29K to 50K. I believe that the next one is not going to appear before $62,000, which is the current ATH level. I can observe a lot of whales rushing in to purchase, in anticipation of the next major bull rally. The correction is now over and the stabilization phase is going to last for a couple of months or so. And this period will provide the last opportunity to accumulate BTC for five-digit prices.

Or 6 digit prices at the end of the year.

There are several resistance though from $29k to $50k. The latest is the $48k barrier which we have just crossed after more than 3 attempts. And then $50k also seems to be a tough nut to crack as once we have reach it, the price suddenly dips.

However, I do believed that in the next coming months we might see new ATH, exceeding at least $70k and then that big 6 digits will be the next and that is the price that we all have been wanting to see because it will be historic.
3231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin possibly become the Skynet of human civilization? on: August 26, 2021, 09:57:13 AM
Forget about conscious AI, bitcoin isn't even turing complete. Bitcoin script can't perform loop.

Well, as I mentioned in this article, Bitcoin itself is difficult to evolve self-awareness, but the Bitcoin network provides open source data, and various blockchain projects in the entire crypto world are open source, so Will produce a steady stream of open source data. These data are the most valuable, and these data happen to be the food for the evolution of various artificial intelligences.

Even prior to blockchain though, data has been very important to everyone, from banks to big companies who uses that data to make business decisions. So that data is also preserve, through database, structured and its formatted. So if you are talking about food for the evolution, it has been many years prior to the creation of blockchain so I don't think it makes any difference at all.
3232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does it keep falling ? on: August 25, 2021, 06:43:50 PM
Momentum is quite a large part of a move, I need to weigh this better myself but imagine if stumbling down a hill its harder to get a foothold again while already moving with speed.   Similar I think we have momentum when rising that should be referenced as to the continuation in price rises.   All today we've been trading above the 12hr average and also regained the 2 day average, while we keep hold all of these we should assume price remains with pressure upwards despite possible resistance to overcome.

Or volume, if we see greater volume in the next coming days then we might see another upside around $52k. But currently, we have that kind of momentum to go and even try $49k again.

Yes, we have regained the 2 day average, and if we have enough volume to push then those resistance will be broken along the line this week. So I'm hoping to see more upside than pressure.
3233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK 20% of the gambling venues are located at the poorest part of the country on: August 25, 2021, 06:13:33 PM
As I mentioned before, there is also a social aspect, though.

Like it or not, people from a lower economic/social class have less income, and less education, and lower paying jobs. It all trickles into logic. Lower education means lower awareness. Higher vulnerability to social problems also is scientifically known to be passed down generation to generation. A lower income person is more likely to be unaware of the dangers of gambling and therefore spend more to try and win big. Higher income people see gambling as entertainment, lower as a (wrong) means to get rich and out of their problems.

What do you mean by hereditary? social problem? I'm not too sure about that?
Poverty has never been passed down to the next generation, even education has different domains so that it cannot be generalized into one generation. For example, my parents earn from being a farmer, and I don't necessarily have a farm income myself, I have income from crypto, is it passed down from generation to generation? Gambling is a double-edged sword, it can be an alternative to giving wealth, it can also make everyone lose everything. either the rich or the poor.

Perhaps that's what he meant, if you are born poor, then you can past it to your kids, unless your children really works hard and uplift their life, it's because of the influence. He might be not be generalizating it, but maybe for some it's pretty obvious.

Yeah, I agree that it's a double edge sword, but remember that the odds are against us in gambling and only those who are lucky can get out of poverty because of gambling.
3234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 25, 2021, 01:21:48 PM

Ugas has the right now to choose his path, and facing either Spence and Crawford will probably to happened.

Of the three I don't consider Ugas on the league of Spence and Crawford, there's a possibility that the belt Ugas is currently holding the WBA version will go to either Spence or Crawford or any other worthy contender unless he evades fighting these two top and elite fighters, I don't think he can hold on that title for long, he has flaws on his style, both Crawford and Spence can beat this guy.

I can't be sure, but I read that Spence is avoiding or at least not interested on fighting Ugas. Remember though that Shawn Porter has beaten Ugas on a tough fight in 2019. So I agree that Ugas in that in the league of the top welterweights right now.

But since he has the belt, I think other champions are going to chase him, and also they want to test him after beating the legendary Manny Pacquiao.
3235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 25, 2021, 08:35:05 AM
What do you think about this, does he deserved to get this big contract?

If it will be realized, Beal would get the biggest contract in the NBA history.

Quote
Beal can also play out this year, collect his 10 years of service, and re-sign with the Wizards on a five-year contract worth an estimated $235 million, a deal that would surpass Giannis Antetokounmpo (five years, $228 million) as the largest in NBA history. Other teams would only be able to offer four years and significantly less money.
source : https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2947544-bold-predictions-for-nbas-top-5-trade-targets-right-now

Getting such a contract is a great success for any player. This is a really big and nice new home.

I guess Wizards really value what Beal is giving to them in the last couple of years. He was close to winning the scoring title last season if not for Curry's amazing scoring run.

I guess what they needed is another superstar to really help him. Westbrook provided that spark, but it was not enough as they are playing in the same position. Probably another good power forward or center would do a lot of help to at least bring the Wizards to the playoffs again next season or even get the hump over first round.
3236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 23, 2021, 06:07:44 AM
Yeah, a one year done deal for this veterans, and probably they have to accept a pay cut just to be in a championship team once again. Howard and Ariza is a comeback Lakers, meaning they know the institutions very well that's why they have agreed.

For Melo and Westbrook, same predicament, they wanted to leave a legacy and having at least one ring and a future HOF, win-win situation for the two as well.
An experiment that has a good chance to win. Lebron sure pulled a lot of strings from the Lakers management to acquire this veterans.

I think him and Rob Pelinka is very close to each other that's why Lebron can have his way and was able to acquire Melo at least.

Ariza may not be really that hungry for a championship since he already had one but I guess two ring will always be better.

Definitely, a second ring will be great as well specially if he retires as Lakers.

WB and Melo will be the ones who needs to work their ass and be at better shape until the playoffs or better the Finals if they will achieve it.
I have no doubts with WB but Melo should find a way to bring back his consistency with his shooting percentage. This is the time, leave a good mark, retirement is getting closer.

They have played last year, although they have exited early, but I think they will be in better shape as this is really a good opportunity for them to snatch at least one ring. And this is a good storyline as well once they said farewell.
3237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @ $50k on: August 23, 2021, 05:29:05 AM
Bitcoin back above $50K once again. I would have stuck with BTC, but i only regret that it's a little bit. It's king and all eyes were on $50K. Indeed, this is just the beginning of a huge breakout. Let's hope it keeps pumping and pumping. Better to fill your bags and lets hit the moon together. Let's stop $64K

NO, the big stop will be in the 6 digits as many has predicted before, specially the S2F modelling.

In any case, that big $50k barrier has broken already, expecting more FOMO to set in the coming days. We still have a full week before the end of August, but this month alone has given us a big upswing in price. So let the pump continue, at least $52k at the end of the month will be very attractive. Not sure if it's the time to fill the bags, but if you have been holding and didn't panic during the dump to $28k-$29k, for sure you are very happy to see the price jumping above $50k now.
3238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Or Gambling ? on: August 22, 2021, 01:38:00 PM
There are people who play gambling only while there are others who prefer betting only.
Do you think both of these type of people have different mindset and one of them is willing to take more risk than than others ?

I play both, been with sports betting and then from time to time gamble in slots or crash games or dice or baccarat or roulette (physical casino and crypto based).

Personally, I just love sports betting and gambling so I'm not sure about having a different mindsets.

Also do think that gambling is for the entertainment and earning money too but people do betting only to earn money and there is no element of fun involved in it.

Of course, I doubt that gamblers are playing for just entertainment, at the end of the day, you want to win. There could be some element of fun involved though.

Just a reminder though, to just play the amount of money that you can afford to lose.
3239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South African Man Loses $900,000 Worth Of BTC After Accidentally Deleting Keys on: August 22, 2021, 12:43:32 PM
Can't trust the veracity of news like this anymore, especially coming out of a non-mainstream news outlet in S Africa. And no, this isn't just a "it's Africa/Asia so it's fake" but I've followed up a few stories like these before and they always end up not going through the proper journalistic rigour needed.

I agree, the news said that he has started mining bitcoin when he was 14 years old, so that raise some questions, and in all places, it was in South Africa.

Anyway, damn. If you have that much money (and that's a hell lot more purchasing power in S Africa) you only have 1 copy and it's digital? Damn.

In any case, add these amount this to "lost" BTC already.

Maybe when we hit $100k, we may hear another news similar to this but in different location.  Cheesy
3240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 22, 2021, 11:19:40 AM
Man, what is tennis going to turn into when Federer and Nadal stop playing. The tournaments become more and more boring. Djokovic is pretty much the only superstar here. At least we saw Djokovic being vulnerable against Zverev at the Olympian game. But I really can't imagine Djokovic giving the chance away to take the all time lead in GS wins. I am also doubtful that Federer will return for the Australian Open, maybe he does it one more time, but his end is now coming closer quickly.
Don't worry there will be other star players who will replace them maybe not in terms of achievement but for the quality game there will be interesting ones like Federer playing.

Rublev vs Zverev in the final, Zverev won all their meetings and this stat makes me choose Zverev to win the odds are not very interesting only 1.36 and if he is able to lift the throphy it will likely shift Nadal who is in 4th position.

I agree, there's nothing to worry, there are a lot that are going to carry the torch if ever Federer and Nadal retires next year. Djokovic is still fighting for this top stop with the young gen of players. And as he aged as well, we might see a new set of top 3 or even top 3 when him and Federer and Nadal and Murray are dominating the tennis scene.

As in every sports, one way or another, father time will caught up on this tennis greats, but there will someone who are more willing to take their spot.

I have the game of Rublev vs Zverev at Over 22.5 @2.02.
