As for the 3rd question, no, you can see the source (X Bitcoins from A to B) For the 2nd one, it is not advisable to run the same wallet at the same time in several places

Why were avatars allowed again? Was the exploit fixed?
Nope, the exploit wasn't fixed... Come to think about it, it was in fact an odd question, since uploading does take place, the prank image isn't simply put there

Since everyone seems to be on April's fools mode on that thread, I changed my avatar accordingly

Avatar changed, thank you!

what's the year all bitcoins are mined?
Year 2140, more or less How long will it take to generate all the coins? The last block that will generate coins will be block #6,929,999 which should be generated at or near the year 2140. The total number of coins in circulation will then remain static at 20,999,999.9769 BTC. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ

Presumably, Satoshi used tor to post on this forum. Otherwise his anonymity would....well not exist.
I find it annoying how we have to pay to make use of this forum using tor, especially given what has led us here.
You only have to pay if you register an account from an IP address that was used to register a shitload of accounts. If you register the account from a 'clean' IP you can then connect through TOR and use the forums without any problem. That opens another set of problems: You would have to either find a "clean" TOR exit node (as far as I understand), or register through a clearnet public IP, otherwise your privacy would still be compromised Dude, there are like a ton of free proxies and VPNs out there. The problem is not with TOR in particular, just the IP address was used a lot for new accounts, you can register through some free proxy and end up with the account blocked because it was already used a lot. And you can register with your IP, your privacy isn't compromised, it's just a number. No use for TOR, then?

0.25 bitcoin at https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/1LUD7xavJo1um3toduKCpKu1tcKM4RmgPD gets split into 5x 0.05 prizes for #BitcoinSurvey tomorrow 121 people out of 134 respondants from 51 countries so far put in their bitcoin address, so everyone who participated so far has a 4% chance of getting 0.05 bitcoin worth about €11.38 euro. I know people will ask, so I will export all bitcoin addresses received before midnight GMT tonight in the morning. These will then be dumped into http://www.miniwebtool.com/random-name-picker/ and I'll pick an address. I'll take this out of the list, and repeat it four more times until I have five addresses. Then I'll do a transaction to the five addresses, and post proof of payment here. I have an extra 0.001 in the wallet to cover fees. I'm waiting for my next mining payment to come in, and then I'll transfer in another 0.251 bitcoin into the same wallet, which will set there for people who participate in April. But if you don't win, don't despair. People who didn't win in March will be eligible for the grand prize of 0.25 bitcoin which will be sent when I publish the report at the end of the survey. Thanks to everyone who's participated so far, and if you have friends who don't use bitcoin, i'm equally interested in getting them to participate. OP has also been updated with a new map Cheers Jamie Good news, glad to see either the survey and the prizes moving

Spoke to a few different people (in Stockholm) and around the world, it seems they have all got this message if they had changed to the Titans.
KNC does not want to give out ANY Titans, they want to send the now, pretty much worthless Neptunes, and claim a "technical issue" for all who had changed to Titans in time.
A lot of people will go for the 3 Bitcoin so that they aren't just completely out of their money. Maybe you could drive up this price on an individual case if you make enough noise. Highly doubt they would make their minds differently about an individual case. They would have further problems with that, as all other customers would reclaim the same treatment... They are such rogue bastards.
If any of us had gone in for that cloud mining option then we would have at least 10-15 BTC by now, but they are not even giving us that, they have put it at the low 3BTC because they want everyone to go for the shitty Neptune.
I and another person, who have both gotten screwed separately are going there for the first of many good arguments I think.
At this point I don't care if I get arrested, I am going to be making quite a bit of noise quite frequently.
They are basically screwing you for not sticking with them and their cloud mining scheme Screwing you for not "betting" on them all this time. Not sure you would have much more Bitcoins if you enrolled in their cloud mining option. Going in group is a good idea... Hope you guys can make something out of that visit.

Unfortunately we haven't reached a point in which we can just go to a cafe or a store and say we refuse to pay in fiat. Bitcoin isn't that widely known, and rejecting fiat right away won't make anyone interested in implementing Bitcoin. Maybe one day we can reject paying in fiat and establishment owners will understand that... But not yet So we probably won't listen to many of these stories.

The situation is pretty extreme... KNC has been going downhill for quite a bit of time. People are comparing them to BFL even... Despite this you should remain your cool if you visit their offices. Get a rest before going, you'll lose all your reasning if you're not cool and they'll simply kick you out from there... Swedish folks that bought from them should organize a small group to go and talk to them, otherwise they won't move much or pay attention to you, only I've been around this KNC subject for quite some time, as I've been with all of the BFL situation... I hope everyone gets out of KNC without much trouble. I'll be watching...

Not sure if Bitcoin is becoming a global currency simply because of the fact that Bitcoin is the global currency since it's inception At least it was created with that intent... It has always been a government-less, stateless currency, not dependent on anything else... We value it as we wish to!

Another pretty interesting technology, although it's a bit ahead of our time They also lack iOS app... but they're in beta stages so let's give it some time. Anyways... Uber picked up quite a bit of fans, so I don't see how can't this pick up fans too in the long run too!

Well, weird... Is your Minera reachable from the internet? You could investigate in the logs, but by now to reset the password to "minera" just do this in a terminal: echo -n "f6048a781885a51d7156afc13f2fb477" | redis-cli -x set minera_password EDIT: eh oh well, there is also this bug https://github.com/michelem09/minera/issues/123 as workaround you should use only letters-numbers to be sure your password is saved correctly. I just fixed this but I don't release it yet. After trying again, this command seems to work now... I don't have a clue of what I was doing wrong in the first place. Everything fine now, thank you

lophie, thanks for putting your inventory public I'll offer 0.06 BTC for buyout, let me know if you want to sell for that much I didn't realize most dota items were untradable so I'd go with this guy. I'll offer 0.06 BTC for buyout, let me know if you want to sell for that much I didn't realize most dota items were untradable so I'd go with this guy. His Dota 2 inventory is worth about $15 total on the Steam community market so my offer is based on that I don't play Dota, so I'm really not getting what's up with this account's value. Item Value Sorter says the account is worth almost 400$. You say it's worth 15$. That's because the expensive items cannot be sold? Other thing that I'm not getting is, these items have selling history in the marketplace.

This seems to be quite the service It is an amazing idea and probably a really fast way to send funds... I'm hoping they start operating soon, it looks promising. Also, it makes fiat depend on the blockchain, which will probably piss off some governments. A big plus

i'd bid .02, only interested in dota items.
Do you have a clue how much they're worth just judging by the screenshot? User's inventory is private, so no calculator allows for verification. Not too much, there is a ton of common/ uncommon items, which add up to a little. I like crafting the treasure things, so cheap items would be nice. I don't know off the top of my head but I would guess $5-10 OK, thank you. Still, I'll wait to see if the user allows us to see his inventory before bidding more
