2341  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need Help! on: August 15, 2015, 12:14:50 PM
Sorry for my bad english.
When i look into the file "default_wallet" it is a "wallet_type": "xpub"

Which is a watch-only wallet, as you referred. Electrum does not create watch-only wallet out of thin air. You must have created a wallet, exported its Master Public Key and insert that key on the new wallet you created.

If you have the seed to that wallet you can get the funds back, otherwise no, so... Do you have the seed?
2342  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitExchange hardware wallet is ready:Metal, Sapphire Crystal, Touch,Water proof on: August 15, 2015, 12:11:55 PM
official BEwallet is ready. take a look latest pics on the top of this post.

What's the difference between Cube and Circle? That's quite a price difference between the two. Also, any website where we can see more information?
2343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which bitcoin wallet is the safest and the most convenient? on: August 15, 2015, 12:06:37 PM
If you are looking for a fast, easy and convenient wallet for desktop, you should look for Electrum, or MultiBit.
2344  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-15] Court in Michigan charged man for weapon trading that involved BTC on: August 15, 2015, 11:54:39 AM
I guess we had to come to a time where fortunately, things are kept separated from each other: the crime and Bitcoin usage. The news say out of the box that the charges aren't Bitcoin related, which is amazing!
2345  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitCoins Stops Service for New York Residents on: August 15, 2015, 11:45:54 AM
It's very beneficial to the Bitcoin ecosystem if large companies like LocalBitcoins cease operations on New York. It's the best way to show them we do not approve BitLicense. The best way of protest, in my opinion. NY loses Wink
2346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Freshly Painted BitCoin Coded Helmet on: August 14, 2015, 12:52:04 PM
random people take you pics just because you do long runs on a bike? lol, now that's odd.

Well sometimes there cursing at me so , its not just speed that gets me noticed. I assume some of the pictures are now in the hands of Bike Cops on the look out for me.

I got the Idea from these crazy people https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8uAhd3vOYw
Was thinking of finding a local Bike Race for free Camera Time, people always upload there races too youtube.

Bike Cops? Not even going to ask Cheesy

Those guys from youtube are absolutely insane. Let's not even connect them remotely to Bitcoin, otherwise mainstream media might pick up on this Roll Eyes
2347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serial bomber demands BITCOIN ransom after planting explosives at supermarkets on: August 14, 2015, 12:39:58 PM
More biased news Roll Eyes Bitcoin, Bitcoin, Bitcoin everywhere. What about bombs and safety?

What about the millions of fiat terrorists spend on attacks? The people that fund them? The bombs that are bought with fiat? The millionaire fiat ransoms asked to release journalists and prisoners of war? Media is putting a blindfold on people.

Not to mention what has already been said, the guy's funds can be traced.
2348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Freshly Painted BitCoin Coded Helmet on: August 14, 2015, 12:33:42 PM
I'm not sure I'm getting your post, random people take you pics just because you do long runs on a bike? lol, now that's odd.

Also an amazing opportunity to show a QR code to the world. I'd print it even bigger!
2349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining is clearly profitable still, why was cex.io allowed to defraud investors on: August 14, 2015, 11:37:10 AM
cex was kind of a fail from the get go... However, is there any information on their hardware? On their location? The costs of running their operation?

Their fees were high and they probably run off with what they had in profit. But it's not impossible for a mine to cross the red unprofitability line nowadays. Not trying to defend them (or any cloud mining service for that matter), but do we have numbers, definitive proof of them simply running off? I never really investigated their service, but as far as I knew they were a big secretive operation hiding behind a pretty website.
2350  Other / Meta / Re: Mike Hearn talking about theymos and BitcoinTalk forum policy on: August 13, 2015, 10:19:49 PM
Pretty interesting article from Mike. This is should have been posted on Bitcoin Discussion tho, I think... Whatever opinions people have on forking and/or Bitcoin XT it shouldn't be censored/considered as altcoin discussion. Bitcoin XT is giving an option for Bitcoin development, and Bitcoin only. I'm not giving any opinion about the issue here, just saying that it was proposed as a Bitcoin improvement (questionable), not a totally different coin, with different specs and different blockchain...

It seems that theymos doesn't think like you... but yes bitcoinXT can't considered 100% as altcoin.

Probably safe to consider it as an alt only when the fundamentals of Bitcoin change. I don't think blocksize is something fundamental that cannot be changed, such as the total supply...

This is should have been posted on Bitcoin Discussion tho, I think...
I posted it in Bitcoin Discussion indeed.

All right, sorry, only noticed it when it was already on Meta.

"Revolutionary" would be the right word!
2352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you are living just with Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2015, 10:14:29 PM
Using those pre-paid cards isn't really living on Bitcoin only, unfortunately... Smiley

I definitely can't, at least yet. Almost no local services where I can use Bitcoin Sad
2353  Economy / Auctions / Re: The Day WoodCollector Was Banned - Commemorative (HAND CARVED) Plaque on: August 13, 2015, 09:59:12 PM
Lol, nice piece, was not expecting this from the Paper Safe creator Cheesy So I now see the guy returned and was quickly banned... what an odd story and what a unique character Grin

Hope you have no trouble selling that piece of bitcointalk history!
2354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you didn't get paid for your signature, would you still care about Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2015, 09:43:21 PM
One thing doesn't have to do with another. Everyone would still be connected to Bitcoin if signatures didn't exist. The real question is: would you post as much as you do without an economic incentive?

I'd definitely say yes, I would, I spent months here posting without any signature to begin with... Signatures are just a very welcome extra and they also guarantee a minimum of quality on posts, as one can be booted out of a signature campaign for spam, or unnecessary posts... Obviously no one can get rich just out of posting on Bitcointalk Cheesy I think it's just a pretty nice way of making some extra bucks, while taking advantage of something one already did frequently to begin with Smiley
2355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Windows 10 and Bitcoin Discussion on: August 13, 2015, 09:33:51 PM
Since I tested Windows 10 in the beginning of this year I was really anxious to have the final version on my machines, so I jumped on it right after news hit that build 10240 distributed on Microsoft Insider was RTM. There has been an incredible fuzz about this version for quite some time now, for positive and negative things. So far I have it on my main machines and I'm happy. One of the things that made me jump was the fact that I had 3 inactivated legit keys right out of the gate without spending any dime.

Put it on my laptop first, went from Ubuntu 15.04 to Windows 10 10130 then to 10240, no big issues, running smoothly. Had Bitcoin Core, Armory and Electrum there, simply stopped using them on this PC. Did the same on my Desktop (the only difference being starting on Windows 8.1), it had Bitcoin Core and now has Armory and I also tested Electrum. All run nicely.

Windows 10 can keylog at will all my computer's empty online wallets Smiley I don't store funds over 5 ou 10$ for quite some time.

Normally, as people say, when stuff is free, we are the products... My love to test all the newest OS's surpasses this, so I think it's a fair tradeoff, for now, and all Bitcoin related apps seem to be working fine, so no issues for me in having Windows 10.
2356  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-08-13] NYDFS Receives 22 Initial BitLicense Applications on: August 13, 2015, 05:12:55 PM
Quote
The New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has revealed that it has so far received 22 applications from firms seeking to engage in virtual currency business activity in the US state.

Honestly wasn't expecting so many companies seeking BitLicense applications...

2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you use Bitcoin and access Bitcointalk freely without using a VPN? on: August 13, 2015, 04:57:48 PM
Fortunately I still can do pretty much anything in my country in my home connection, but we're slowly crawling to an "Intranet" like the one on China and other countries. For the first time a website was blocked here (The Pirate Bay), and I think many others will follow.

As for Bitcoin, I don't see it ever being blocked, honestly. As it won't probably ever be regulated here...
2358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who thinks Gavin Anderson knows who Satoshi is? on: August 13, 2015, 04:53:11 PM
Pretty sure there's no one who knows who he is/how to contact him. Obviously speculating, but are there any clues anyone know anything about him?

2360  Other / Meta / Re: If there are certain threads I like in BTT, is there a way to get an RSS feed? on: August 13, 2015, 04:44:25 PM
I don't think there is a way... Maybe making a bot account that somehow feeds your watchlist page to an RSS feed?

Just watch the threads you want and keep your Watchlist page bookmarked Smiley Seems a lot of work for something so simple.
