Pretty interesting article from Mike. This is should have been posted on Bitcoin Discussion tho, I think... Whatever opinions people have on forking and/or Bitcoin XT it shouldn't be censored/considered as altcoin discussion. Bitcoin XT is giving an option for Bitcoin development, and Bitcoin only. I'm not giving any opinion about the issue here, just saying that it was proposed as a Bitcoin improvement (questionable), not a totally different coin, with different specs and different blockchain...

Just make a mirror and run it in a local machine or search for mirrors, there was at least one after it got shutdown.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Online Wallet that Supports Vanity Addresses? on: August 11, 2015, 10:39:10 PM
He should use the eminently convenient Electrum, not a horrifically insecure online wallet like blockchain.info where his BTC are all but guaranteed to be lost/stolen.

Agreed. Unfortunately OP doesn't seem to want Electrum... Cheesy

Any online wallet that allows address importing supports vanity addresses.
2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Integrated ASIC on smartphones or tablets on: August 11, 2015, 08:57:45 PM
That might be possible, just not for Bitcoin. There are much softer algorithms and who knows? There might be a new one (mobile device friendly) around the corner. The device would need to be connected to power to run the chip, however

Despite this, I don't see anything similar happening in near future.

I tried running a mobile bitcoin miner on my smartphone (quadcore 2 ghz) and I got 7mh/s haha. After a few minutes, my phone gets hot so I stopped. Even if it's connected to a power source, the main issue on such a device would be overheating (unless manufacturers of this kind of device would find a workaround for this).

That's why such a thing will be impossible for Bitcoin, and it's not feasible with current technology chips... Although I still think it will be difficult to implement such a thing, it probably won't be technically impossible in the future. And we all know that some smartphone makers like to pile up their newest flagships with things that might not be of general use just to be the first ones...
2366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I ran Bitcoin Core for >3 years, and I turned it off today on: August 11, 2015, 08:55:24 PM
I am also switching, at least for now, and I'm planning my first 24/7 full node. It will be using XT too.
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If The Bankers Wanted To Destroy Bitcoin They Only Have To Do This One Thing... on: August 11, 2015, 08:47:57 PM
Core Devs, among many other people, have a lot to lose if Bitcoin starts going in a different direction. That's why we have all this friction regarding block size changes. Devs are afraid that the core essence of Bitcoin is changed and this whole thing fails. I don't see them being easily manipulated.

Even if they were manipulated, some of them might resist, and if all of them were manipulated, they would probably be forking to a government run chain, used by nobody Cheesy
2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Comes Back To Clear Blocksize Debate... on: August 11, 2015, 08:44:02 PM
He probably can't or doesn't want to give an opinion, so no dice there Cheesy

I've been actually wondering when would the time come in which they would mock us in our own threads accusing them

Posts are already being dealt with, as far as I can see. Let's just keep reporting and putting negative trust on these guys. Thank you mods!

2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I mined a Bitcoin in Minecraft on: August 11, 2015, 02:13:12 PM
Ah, that's pretty nice work! Nice "mining!" Grin

That's great but I prefer playing Counter Strike to earn Hyper and then exchange them to Bitcoins. I think that way is much more profitable. I've earned around 5 Hyper playing Counter Strike. I'm getting addicted playing this game. Will probably try playing Minecraft (it's been a long time since I don't play) this weekend.  Cheesy

Care to share more of that? I usually play a few games, wouldn't mind hopping on servers with rewards.

Check out this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654249.0

It's about how to earn Hyper playing Counter Strike.

You can also check here: http://hypercrypto.com/hyper-counter-strike-global-offensive-server/  for info on how to connect to the Counter Strike Global Offensive server. Hope this helps  Roll Eyes

Thanks, already found that, joined their servers and not much activity or rewards Smiley

2375  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happens to the BitLicense if everyone leaves NYC? on: August 10, 2015, 04:58:55 PM
According to the latest news we are seeing, literally every business and venture related to Bitcoin is leaving New York City due BitLicense not so cool regulations. My question is, if everyone leaves, what's the point for a BitLicense to stay? Will the BitLicense stay even if there are 0 businesses there?
Will this set and example and make other places consider implementing a BitLicense type regulation twice?

Some are still staying... Anyways, if everyone leaves, too bad for NY, it's a taste of their own medicine. BitLicense will probably stay always, but will be adapted if they have too many people fleeing.

I like PrimeDice's clean and easy to use interface, as well as the bot for betting, sometimes I just leave it going and see what's up a few hours later Smiley What I don't like is the slowness of the bot, faster betting would be nice and the webaite is really heavy (although I don't know a thing about web programming, so I really don't have opinions on how to improve).

Thanks for running a trustworthy website and thanks for the giveaway

Releases website is here... I'll wait until it gets here and a full changelog is available Smiley

Can't seem to find the changelog to see if this really has support for bigger block sizes. They used to post it on github, but can't seem to find it, any links?
2379  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PhotoBTC - Should we separate nudity from other images? on: August 09, 2015, 05:27:26 PM
Seems like a nice service you've got there, exploring... Smiley

As for the poll, yes, nude images should only appear after selecting for them to appear.
