Pandion, your brilliance never ceases to amaze me.  Grin

For the record. I did not recieve any response.
A few months ago another comm member recieved the response it was much work to change the ticker and they would do it when they had time.

No reason to change? Well apart from being changed in all the other exchanges, and Bittrex being a dead link forever on CMC, and the face change of developers.
No reason no reason at All...   Would just confuse users thinking the old devs didn't leave. Makes sense.

  Burn em and turn em.

Hello,

Despite multiple requests to change our ticker over the course of several months, this has not been changed, nor have responses been supplied to my knowledge.

In light of the possibility of future silkcoin forks and/or communication necessity with bittrex, I cannot see how Silkcoin and Bittrex can work together any longer based on the current relationship.

Please advise the status of the ticker change, or I would request the removal of Silkcoin from the Bittrex exchange.

Support is mutual in cryptos, and if our community is supporting your exchange in fees, I would expect the same in return or at the bare minimum, communication regarding barriers to achieving a ticker change.

  Thanks,

 Hanz

We have responded multiple times, to multiple people;  we will not facilitate symbol changes for no reason.  It causes unneeded churn on our systems and causes a lot of support issues for our users.  We will do as you request and delist Silkcoin from the exchange this weekend.  The wallet will be open for 14 days following per our standard policy.

Thanks
Richie

Cryptos should be used as stores of value to be traded p2p.   Not as payment whores.  If anyone has noticed payment processing has done bitcoin wonders...
But if you aim to rule with an iron fist.. who knows...

To be constructive I would suggest not started your paper with.  "Im not good at this but.."

And no sorry.  There is not a billion dollar profit in crypto dev.. it'd me a miracle for your coin to just hit a billion dollar marketcap.  Profit in that? Well.. If ya got tons of business on board.. and they all agreed to pay your fee.. ya might make a million.  Unlikely.  But giver! Never hurts To try.

Do you have funding? That'd be new and innovative.

I've got ads in my wallet??

This is strictly a Web wallet that runs in a browser? Or am I  missing something..

where on earth do you see adds?

Lol i had ads at the top of the wallet and numerous popup. . I dunno.  I guess the browser or wallet is susceptible to adware?   Is it supposed to run in a browser? Maybe I did something wrong.

Nem needs a browser to run?

LOL. It looks like you installed some bad software while surfing for porn/warez, bro  Kiss

warez, there is a name I haven't heard in a long time.

Did you download winzip?

Win zip?  There was never that option.. just followed the link in the thread. Updated java. Launched through site download provided.  Recently dealt with astromeda.   But thought I had cleared it out completely.  Had some appearance of astromeda as there were hyper links to junk sites directly in the wallet.

If adware or warez. . Can attach itself to the wallet.. we'll isn't this bad?

Are you running IE 6 with the adult toolbar? Wink

Lol i run chrome.  Nem. Chooses ie as default it seems. Lol they have an adult toolbar? Maybe that's why ie sux balls..  literally haha

Lol. IE is the default because you made it the default. The adult toolbar is there because it isn't ie that sux. It is you who went there. You invited the adult too bar to be on your browser. If you are not careful, you will also see that in chrome and you will still be cursing at all these browsers why they sux.  Smiley

Dude I don't know what this adult toolbar thing is... haha  I don't have an adult toolbar.  That sounds like an extremely bad idea.  Screw all toolbars actually.
I've cursed internet explorer for over a decade. I will continue.   You were right though.  When i reset chrome, also reverted to ie as default.
Thanks.

It is telling you that you need to be safe when surfing the Internet and not go anywhere you wish like a stray dog looking into every bin. Wink

The browser can be used offline too for the NEM wallet. But that is another matter. I doubt you will want to go up that path until you have learned enough how to use and know what a browser is as well as know the danger of the Internet.

My word of caution to you. You are a prime suspect for a malware/trojan/virus infected machine. If I were you, being a novice, go get a new machine and not surf to Miss Porntip's website at all with that. Don't even copy files from this machine to the new machine.

If you cannot afford another machine, get someone to clean out your HDD completely for you and start all over.

Yeh... this my dirty comp.. Only test shit out on this.  And it wasn't porn, was a russian sandbox mmo..
Some dirty adware. Nonetheless.  Got front row prime and centre on NEM's wallet.
For the record its not about being a novice.. its about supporting issues that could arise.

Yeh. Forgot when I reset chrome also reset ie to be the default.  I've hated internet explorer since shortly after netscape.. lol
Anyways. Works good on chrome.

And yeh thats okay man.  I've got 3 other comps.  Remnants of Russia still in IE on this one..

Can you get a screenshot?

Yeh I'll try to recreate issue and post.   Just shutter down after the 7th or so popup.  Not at comp now but will try later and see if issue comes up again.

Definitely something that might need solving.

Although I don't use internet explorer.. and haven't restored it to default since I killed astromeda. (Which is reauired) guess I'll try that.. password/keyloggers able to run in wallet though. Makes me nervous.

And don't worry I only surf 'secure' porn sites lol

360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like the end is near for scam coins/ICOs - the Feds are coming! on: October 29, 2014, 08:52:49 PM
Ehterium is German but wants to operate as part of the international financial system.  To work with large US merchants and to have US customers they need to follow US law meaning Federal registrations and registrations in each state with Etherium holders.  For a few punters now it doesn't matter but they've dreams of becoming giants and with size comes attention from State AGs in the US especially after some idiot sues about something.  They always do in the US.

Point taken for Cyptsy; they'll be the last man standing. But remember they'll happily delist something if asked politely.  The US government and the government of godforsaken Florida could grind them to dust with procedures, request, processes, lawsuites and investigations if they're not willing to play ball on something the government wants.

The Chinese government hates altcoins but doesn't want to seem completely backwards; if the US goes "full retard" they don't need to hold back at all.

No need for the "stupids" m8; we're all gentlemen here.

Looks like the end is near for scam coins/ICOs.  Best dump out  and move into something safe and (hopefully) scam free like Dogecoin or Pandacoin, OpalCoin etc.  The Feds are coming ...

http://www.coindesk.com/fincen-rules-bitcoin-payment-processors-exchanges-money-transmitters/

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/sec-sends-inquiry-letters-hundreds-bitcoin-companies-unregistered-securities/

I don't want to hear how "this is crypto, anon, the government can't touch it". Right, but they can touch Bittrex, Cryptsy, etc. and "encourage" them to delist anything on their scam list ... And if the exchanges want to stand firm (like that will happen ...) good luck getting any real merchants to use a coin once they get a friendly call from a nice fellow in Washington.

Some might want to make fine distinctions between Exchanges, altcoins like Etherium, etc. but the guy on the phone with all the power in the cheap suit making $30,000 a year won't.  All the scammers love to put pics up from Wolf of Wallstreet.  Funny they never post pics from the end of that movie when it all went to hell.

China has been itching around banning altcoins for years but hasn't taken the plunge ... exactly.  With the US taking the lead there won't be any stopping them.  Bye-bye Bter, etc.

This post is beyond stupid.  I love All the inferred definitions all these threads have.

  1.  Cryptsy.  Already signed up and paid for to the FED.  They're on the books.  Fincen recognized..  Most dumb asses that call them cryptsy or morons that try to sue them for not securing their own computers should know that. .

2.  Ethereum.. is an ipo made to a Germany company. . Off limits. . This post is stupid.

3.  Bittrex. . Not just coins are on the list..  they are not registered... and are the host of dozens if not hundreds of unregistered securities to boot..  scam coins.. pffft. . They escrow the pot for security scams!  A new one everyday and are likely the cause of the complaint backlash on alts.    Shame bittrex shame...

4.  China following suit with us law?? Do you not know the reason why China was the first to outlaw bitcoin??  Man... start reading a bit.   Nonetheless thanks for this Potatoe pot full of morons.  It's fantastic.   I'd say honey pot.  But yall are swimming.. not sticking to nothing.
   Always good for a laugh.

My apologies Good Sir.  *sips tea*
Might you pass me that Opal?  Ahh fine specimen.
Mother! Bring panda round! Yes Panda! I want Panda to see this OpalCoin!  It's marvelous!
*sips tea* Good Sir, let us round up the Doges,  it nears time for the hunt! Fabulous!   Ahhh *sips and finishes tea* Well then! Time to hunt down some of that peasant vermin who hath been scamming in the forest!
*smashes tea cup* *grabs shotgun* Off then!! To a marvelous hunt Good Sir!
