If I upgrade my NEM wallet will that interfere with my redemption as I am part of Phase NXT AE... I sent in my private key and address from the old version.

You sent in your private key to where? Did you read the instructions at all? The private key generated from the old wallet has nothing to do with the new Beta NEM wallet.

Understand that if you have a set of keys to a new house, you keep them in a safe place. When the new house is completed, you can then use the key.

Until then you can shift to as many temporary houses as you want. It will not affect the key you have been keeping because that is the key that you will be finally using when your new house is completed.

The temporary houses are all the NEM BETA or Alpha wallets. The key generated is for the new wallet (i.e., the new house) that is to be used at launch and is not ready for download yet.

If you sent your private key to somewhere, it means you have given the key to someone to occupy your new house. The public key is your address to your new house so that the courier (i.e., Pat) can deliver the coins to that house when it is ready. You use the private key to open that house and you will find the coins in there.

I actually do not understand why this is all so difficult to understand. It beats me really.

I was just asking if I could still access my wallet address so I could see it by utilizing my private key, and I wanted to ensure I would still redeem my NEM if I do or do not upgrade to the newest version.

Wether you upgrade or not doesn't matter at this point. However the latest version facilitates a checktool which let's you verify your keys and address so I'd suggest to go ahead and do it

I've created three real data accounts with the NCC. With the first two accounts, the password was rejected on the first attempt to get back in despite it being copy and pasted.

I created a third account last night which did accept the password after repeated logging out and logging in attempts. This morning it rejected the exact same password.

I don't want coins sent to an address I can't access. What's going on?

Don't understand what you are trying to do. You cannot log in to anything with the above addresses. They are meant to be kept in a safe place and not used for anything until the actual claim. Please read the instructions thoroughly.

I think what gentlemand may have meant is that having launched the Nem client and created a new wallet, he then tried to log back into the wallet but the password was rejected. This also happened to me. I've since created another new wallet and so far I've been able to log back in without any problem.

However just in case the wallet password was ever lost, it would be good to know how, having reinstalled the NEM client, you would, to quote from jabo38's post below, 'use your private key to reclaim your NEM'.

just to clarify things for people asking.  the most important thing that you save is your private key.  that is basically the seed to your account.  you can use your private key to reclaim your NEM on any computer by reloading the NEM client on a new computer and then using the private key.

  Although I don't use internet explorer.. and haven't restored it to default since I killed astromeda. (Which is reauired) guess I'll try that.. password/keyloggers able to run in wallet though. Makes me nervous.

Yeh I'll try to recreate issue and post.   Just shutter down after the 7th or so popup.  Not at comp now but will try later and see if issue comes up again.

It is telling you that you need to be safe when surfing the Internet and not go anywhere you wish like a stray dog looking into every bin.

The browser can be used offline too for the NEM wallet. But that is another matter. I doubt you will want to go up that path until you have learned enough how to use and know what a browser is as well as know the danger of the Internet.

My word of caution to you. You are a prime suspect for a malware/trojan/virus infected machine. If I were you, being a novice, go get a new machine and not surf to Miss Porntip's website at all with that. Don't even copy files from this machine to the new machine.

If you cannot afford another machine, get someone to clean out your HDD completely for you and start all over.

Lol. IE is the default because you made it the default. The adult toolbar is there because it isn't ie that sux. It is you who went there. You invited the adult too bar to be on your browser. If you are not careful, you will also see that in chrome and you will still be cursing at all these browsers why they sux.

Yeh... this my dirty comp.. Only test shit out on this.  And it wasn't porn, was a russian sandbox mmo..
Some dirty adware. Nonetheless.  Got front row prime and centre on NEM's wallet.
For the record its not about being a novice.. its about supporting issues that could arise.

Yeh. Forgot when I reset chrome also reset ie to be the default.  I've hated internet explorer since shortly after netscape.. lol
Anyways. Works good on chrome.

And yeh thats okay man.  I've got 3 other comps.  Remnants of Russia still in IE on this one..
