341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Speculation about biggest airdrops of 2022 on: January 24, 2022, 10:14:11 PM
Have you guys looked at IOTA?

IOTA has two airdrops on their network right now, namely Shimmer Network and Assembly. Both are going to be major pieces of the IOTA ecosystem and you can double-stake your MIOTA for these tokens right now.

Given the lack of attention, it may be a good time to get in early.
IOTA airdrop is add liquidity or locked coin only? maybe you can give source link here about IOTA airdrop depend coin price dump right now after bitcoin drop lower price. Joining IOTA airdrop as lock or liquidity coin looks worth as holding and waiting later when price pump got profit not only for IOTA coin but also have reward from airdrop project. Still working for joining IOTA airdrop right now? I not heard about this airdrop and just getting information last day about Yokswap airdrop but need to buy on pre sale.

It's not yield farming.

Essentially you just lock your coins up - you can withdraw any time, but you get real time rewards every 10 seconds for staking your IOTA on your Firefly wallet.

Very intuitive UX and Assembly is going to be the main L1 on the IOTA L0 network, so you should definitely check it out if interested.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of the NFTs on: January 24, 2022, 09:59:45 PM
~
I haven't heard from DeFis quite a while. I thought they just disappeared completely in the face of crypto, then these NFTs just took over the crypto space. NFT games are the trend right now actually and I even rarely heard about NFT paintings, more like people just downloading and editing random PNGs in the internet to sell it for millions of USDs. Roll Eyes

Hopefully you can understand how ridiculous all of this is.

You are not going to see a lot of utility out of NFTs any time soon. And the little utility that it does have will only be derived from the hype factor and the fact that people are out here chasing high returns on a speculative asset.

Certainly not an asset class I would want to hold through the bear market, that's for sure.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the potential of the Polygon? on: January 24, 2022, 09:36:55 PM
Hello,
I know in the cryptocurrency of the world, it is almost impossible to estimate the price, but I want to know the users and experts opinions about the price and the potential of the Polygon in the future. Please share your opinions.

Thank you.

I think that it's got a ton of potential.

ETH2.0 is not going to roll out all at once like some people imagine, and it's not going to solve all the scalability and fee issues that the ETH network suffers with.

Polygon is going to continue to be the premier layer 2 technology on ETH that facilitates both NFTs and DeFi transactions.

The matter is not in the token. The main point is that a player can get additional tokens without spending their own money. So you can play, get tfs tokens as a cashback, or it is better to say rakeback, since a player gets additional tokens to any bet and the same moment he made this bet. Without waiting for days or weeks. Then, he can hold these tokens and get the additional rewards in tokens. Everything he needs to do is to hold the tokens he won in Play To Earn or bought.

We prepared a guide on the Hold To Earn program with detailed explanations how it works. You will see that there are no projects that share their income just for doing nothing. Just hold the token and get additional tokens.

Is the 'hold to earn' initiative somewhat like yield farming/staking?

Anyhow this is quite innovative, although I would probably like some more options in regards to the lock-up period. I don't think that 8 hours/1 day/3 days is going to necessarily be enough to incentivise long term participation in your network.

The APRs do look very juicy though!
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give a little information on TV game gambling sites. on: January 24, 2022, 08:35:57 PM
I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for?

Are you looking for gambling sites that have some sort of streaming integration that allows players to view the game they are betting on?

If yes, then I believe Stake.com actually has one of these features rolled out already. See this URL: https://promotions.stake.com/live-streaming/

I think it is region restricted though so that is a bummer.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Tether (USDT) supported gambling platform? on: January 24, 2022, 08:26:11 PM
High fees has always been a problem when using Tether USDT in gambling. It is a struggle for most users though we cant still deny the fact that it provides convenience and smooth transactions. However, most gamblers still prefer other altcoins to save fees like BNB or XRP which is actually a practical idea.

Not really..?

When you deposit USDT on a site like BetFury you are able to choose what network you want the USDT to be deposited on.

Obviously ETH ERC-20 USDT is going to be the most expensive in terms of gas, but if you just be smart about it and use the BSC/MATIC versions of USDT your deposit is going to be way faster and smoother.

Also consider using DAI instead since Tether is known to have issues with blocking funds.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On which esports you place bets on: January 24, 2022, 08:16:05 PM
I don't do e-sports betting anymore but when I was, I was betting on dota2 games. I don't really play or understand any other e-sports games. (LoL, CSGO, whatever...) It probably wouldn't have made a difference if I was betting on CSGO games though. Because  the outcome of the dota2 games was nearly impossible to predict. Underdog teams has beaten the favorites many times which made me to believe that it is pointless to make a research on those games.

I somehow disagree with your statement that dota 2 games are nearly impossible to predict. What you just mentioned probably answered your query- since you do not understand the basics/fundamentals of the game, it is natural but to conclude that betting on these types of games are impossible. But coming from the perspective of someone who invested thousands of hours in these games (both dota 2 and csgo), I could at least tell that there are a few factors that helped me in reaching a decision on which team to bet.

You must first understand the dynamics of the team (e.g. playstyle, hero pools, history, matchups, etc.). One you have conducted your research, it is time to bet on the team that you've invested time on reading about. While it may be time consuming, the process is at least rewarding as it discounts the possibility of betting blindly. At least, you have pure information about the statistics on the team and their winning percentages that may help reduce the risk of losing in gambling.

Even if you do research, you may not necessarily be profitable long term.

Remember that your returns as a esports bettor will come from not only your win %, but also at what odds you got these wins.

Generally the market is quite efficient and prices in any info that you have gotten your hands on way before you know it. But sometimes there are discrepancies. I agree with mindrust in that Dota2 and in fact pretty much all esports have way more variance in outcomes compared to traditional sports.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a monopoly? on: January 24, 2022, 08:00:43 PM
Ever since Ethereum launched a couple of years ago, smart contract platforms have been on the rise. There are many competitors on the market with their own unique features, aiming to take the crypto world by storm. While there are a wide variety of blockchain networks with smart contract functionalities, most of them use Ethereum's EVM as their base layer. If you do a little research, you'll see that the vast majority of alternative smart contract platforms use Solidity as the programming language for smart contracts. Coins like Avalanche, Polkadot, TRON, and even Polygon (MATIC) use Ethereum's EVM for the deployment and execution of decentralized applications. Only a small minority of smart contract platforms (eg: Cardano, EOS) have their own programming language and virtual machine (VM).

How would competitors "beat" Ethereum if they use the same EVM for smart contracts? It's like saying Microsoft's Edge browser will beat Chrome when it's based on Chrome's underlying engine (Chromium). If this keeps up, I'd imagine ETH keeping its position as the dominant force of Web 3.0 for a long time.

Do you think Ethereum is a monopoly? If not, why? Do you think alternative chains relying on ETH's EVM is a bad idea? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Definitely not.

There are a ton of forks of ETH because it is open source, and they are doing very well with billions of dollars in market cap.

The fees on the ETH network means that it's actually not that feasible to use for DeFi or NFTs unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars just lying around. Which gives rise to other solutions like FTM, BSC, etc.

351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe Michael Saylor is currently getting antsy? on: January 21, 2022, 11:50:20 PM
The purchase price of Microstrategy in Ave is around $31,500. Additionally, Tesla's average buy-in price is $36k. Is Elon going to sell?

What are your thoughts, gentlemen?

I doubt that he cares too much.

It's not that he has much of a choice as to whether or not MSFT dumps the bag. He has committed on numerous occasions to shareholders that he will continue to hold for eternity.

Honestly, that strategy doesn't make much sense given that a) there is not yield generated on any of the BTC holdings and b) anyone looking to hold BTC for the long term should probably avoid buying it in the form of proxy stock.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 21, 2022, 11:26:49 PM
^^ There is a lot of pressure of Vogel right now, literally his job is on the line. Although if James might have swayed the Lakers management to let Frank stay maybe after the All-Star break I reckon before making the final decision.

I think the errors are killing the Lakers and they don't know how to hold a team in the fourth quarter. James is asserting himself, but he needs to score more every game to give them at least a good chance to win every night. The game against the Magic will be tough as this is on the Magic home court.

If the Lakers win, it's LeBron. If they lose, it's Vogel...

Honestly I think that Frank Vogel has probably the worst job in the NBA. There is not much that can be done with this roster, when the second best player on the team is literally Stanley Johnson that has been out of the league for quite some time.

Unless LeBron conjures up some magic and winds back time, this roster is going nowhere.

354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2022 be the year of ETH 2.0? on: January 21, 2022, 09:56:27 PM
There are rumors circulating around the web, that the ETH 2.0 upgrade will finalize this year. It would be a major upgrade on the ETH blockchain, after a long period of delays. The competition became much more intense ever since gas fees increased on the ETH blockchain. If the ETH 2.0 upgrade comes into fruition, then ETH's position on the market will solidify like never before. Depending on the impact, competing chains will experience less demand on the market.

Still, I'm having my doubts if ETH will upgrade to PoS this year due to the delay in ETH's difficulty bomb. How long will it take for mining on the ETH blockchain to come to an end is beyond me.

Do you think 2022 will be the year of ETH 2.0? If not, why? What will happen with ETH after the upgrade is successfully implemented? Will it mark the end of alternative smart contract platforms for good? Will ETH gas fees decline massively after the upgrade? Or will everything else remain the same? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

I think that it will be.

The ETH team knows that the community will be waiting for the merge, and if it continues to delay the launch of 2.0 then people will become skeptical and potentially pull out of ETH as time goes on.

Whether or not it delivers the promise of much lower fees is yet to be seen, though. I personally think that it will, but it will never lower fees to the point where retail investors can make transactions without thinking about gas.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Solana full of hype? on: January 21, 2022, 08:39:12 PM
Back in the day, Solana was one of those cryptocurrencies with a very low price, often overlooked by mainstream investors and traders alike. It's now the day where Solana is valued within the triple digits, positioned among the top 10 cryptocurrencies in market cap. 2021 was the year were SOL took off massively in price. While Solana's been extremely profitable to early investors, it has one major drawback. And that is the lack of decentralization, security, and reliability.

A few months ago, Solana experienced a network disruption which put almost everything down to a halt. Without a reliable blockchain network, how can people experience the full benefits of this revolutionary tech? Last time I've checked, developers were planning on introducing an "observation system" in order to "help identify issues and patch them accordingly". If implemented, Solana would become much more centralized than it is right now, greatly defeating the whole purpose of crypto/Blockchain tech. It would be no different than traditional banks. Yet, people keep pouring money like crazy into SOL as they're only focused on becoming rich quick. They don't care about decentralization, as convenience goes on top of everything else.

Do you think Solana is full of hype? If not, why? What will happen with SOL's price if network disruptions persist? Will it mark the end of Solana for good? Or will the blockchain network survive for a long time? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I think so.

There is literally no working product. Their actual TPS is much less than their theoretical TPS.

Their DeFi network isn't even as strong as a lower cap coin like FTM or AVAX. They are essentially dominated in every single category except for fees by ETH, which will probably not be the case for the long run as ETH2.0 comes around.
356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elsavador President Predicting $100,000 Bitcoin price looks like another joke on: January 21, 2022, 08:28:04 PM
El Salvador must be quaking in its boots right now.

I think that even though buying BTC was a great idea, they shouldn't have went in so heavily so quickly.

When the music stops, they will be left with a difficult proposition of holding a bag with public funded money and an average buy price of around $40-50k. Definitely not the position you want to be in as the president.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On which esports you place bets on: January 21, 2022, 08:05:38 PM
Recently, I was asked by one of my clients to check out which esports betting bitcointalk users are most interested. I wasn't really aware of esports betting much. Because I really don't gamble a lot. Can you please share which esports you used to place bets on? It would be a great helping hand to find out the right one. Client was interested in offering bonus for bitcointalk users.

CS:GO for sure.

The games are just the right amount of time, and usually you can find betting pools for CSGO quite easily given that it has the most liquidity out of all esports.

I also find that you can usually get the best betting limits on major CSGO games compared to other tournaments.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / FUSE Network on: January 21, 2022, 08:02:28 PM
I recently came across this network from Beefy.finance as it is one of the chains listed on there.

Do you guys think that FUSE has some potential for the future? Seems very undervalued to me given that its market cap is still below $100M yet has integrations with Beefy, Sushiswap etc. which are some major DeFi players.

Disclaimer: I do own some $FUSE but are just looking for opinions whether I should hold this out through the bear market.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: January 21, 2022, 07:57:34 PM
I think that if you ask anyone here, the first thing that will come to mind is KYC policy.

I honestly don't mind what your interface looks like, what currencies you accept, how responsive it is etc. so long as you commit to not KYC customers.

Of course, the aforementioned things are nice to have but they are not pertinent. I just don't want to provide my personal details to some random company registered in Curacao and risk it being leaked.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: The Nasdaq is quietly being shredded: new data on: January 21, 2022, 07:32:28 PM
The NASDAQ is insanely overvalued. Anyone with some sense can see that.

Cathie Wood and co. have pumped up the index for quite some time now and it's seriously time for adjustment. The P/E ratios on some of these stocks are absolutely insane and some are even trading pre-revenue.

Rotate into value stocks, stick to low P/E and don't buy the hype even if one or two of hundreds of the current NASDAQ stocks will take off in the long run.
