341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most challenges faced by gamblers on online casino platforms? on: February 15, 2024, 11:58:32 PM
Most of the issues I have with casinos of recency are how fucking assertive they've become with forcing gamblers to deposit money in their gambling accounts. It's not like they'll lose access to these wallets anyway cause as far as I know crypto wallets are immutable and would remain existent regardless if it has crypto in it or not. But the way these casinos just force their users into depositing money by means of including it in the sign-up process is quite an audacious move if I do say so myself.

I wanna have those old casinos which are just chill and are more honest when it comes to taking care of their gamblers. Those who don't force you into depositing money from the get-go and are okay with you not depositing money for months on end cause sometimes it's just that slow and it's not like you're gambling everyday.

That is how they make money, and they don't know that it's also one of the reasons why people just turn their backs on them.

I remember back in the days where only a few crypto casinos were existing, they just simply let you be and even have a faucet integrated in the platform just to let users try their casinos when they're out of balance. Gone are the days wherein casinos are proactively wanting to let you stay without those intrusive ads or notifications of making a deposit by providing you the best experience even when you're out of funds.

Those email notifications as well - even if you don't subscribe to it, they'll continuously send you promotional emails to get you to deposit even when you don't want to.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be very careful and attentive when selling your bitcoins on: February 15, 2024, 11:48:54 PM
This is why you should always check the order books, see whether the exchange is liquid enough to take on your order, and double check everything before commencing the trade. I'm not sure whether Binance is available on that part of the world, but if it is, then he will not have any problems regarding liquidity. Or he can even try and do a P2P to make sure that he's paid a somewhat fair market price. Ultimately, the neglect is on the end of the seller not checking things before executing the trade. An unfortunately expensive 'charge to experience' moment for this man right here.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: Some persons lacks financial sensibilities on: February 15, 2024, 11:41:40 PM
Ha, Valentine's Day is a product of consumerism and exposure to the fakeness of social media. Back then, if you have a flower and a handwritten letter, that's enough to celebrate Valentine's day. Nowadays, people become so materialistic and addicted to social media that they want to receive gifts and post it for other people's validation and affirmation. I do have a partner and I made it clear that we're not going to spend on fancy dates just because everyone does. Thankfully, she understands and insisted on us going for a quick ride in the mountains with packed lunch. Also, men shouldn't be pressured to always spend in a relationship. If you don't have the money, be honest and sincere about it. If she doesn't accept it, then better find yourself another partner whose capacity to understand your financial status is greater.
344  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 15, 2024, 11:21:08 PM
I see this as becoming a reality. A lot of millennials and Gen Zs in my workplace are always talking about investments in the stock market and cryptocurrencies. None of them are really interested in acquiring lands or real estate anymore because they believe that it includes a lot of work which, in their opinion, is not worth it since you'll be spending time that equates to money. Buying farmlands is one of my ultimate goals eventually because it will always have value. You will always have the land even if harvest season doesn't go well. Plus, you'll get to help solve the food security issue that most of the younger people don't know about.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 15, 2024, 11:03:16 PM
News flash: it doesn't. Only those who are smart and lucky enough to get in before everyone else did are the ones who have the chance to increase their standard of living. Most people still think that bitcoin will improve the quality of lives of people, when in fact it's another investment tool that you need to buy before it performs for you. Bitcoin is another currency, not a cure for the disease of poverty. For economic conditions to be better, a lot of things has to change, and bitcoin isn't one of those in the equation to bring the said change.
346  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy pressure on: February 15, 2024, 10:48:03 PM
Other people are forced to find side hustles or a second job. You can't really depend on the government to provide aid or even help those who are in the poverty zone all the time. That's why this day and age is a curse to all the up and coming adults: you can never really raise a family with these wages unless you work double shifts or have another stream of income. That's also why most young adults are choosing not to bear kids, and with it comes declining population. Choose your poison, I guess. You can't have even the most basic of things if you have these people in power running things.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between afford to lose and can't afford to lose. on: February 15, 2024, 10:23:46 PM
The difference is that the former can lose and will still have some money to live comfortably and normally, while the latter is hanging by a thread and, once lost, will have more problems than what they initially have. This is what I don't understand with people who are staking their last money into gambling with the thought that they can always win. With this line of thinking, they have wasted the chance to slowly but surely attain their goals by purposely hampering it with losses from gambling. If you can't afford to lose, don't gamble. It's that simple.

349  Economy / Economics / Re: Not easy times in the world but how the goverment will improve? on: February 15, 2024, 09:32:01 PM
There's not a one-solution-fix-all the governments are hiding from their citizens. If it is the case then we'll have no problems when it comes to inflation and unemployment. The best thing governments can do is to try to lessen the negative effects but not to eradicate it as that would be impossible. There are different ways to achieve this, such as QE and other such financial techniques, but most of them are inefficient but somewhat 'useful' to an extent.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 15, 2024, 07:47:57 PM
If it's something you can 'control' for years, then I don't think it's something you can call a problem in the first place.

Things only get to be a problem if it becomes uncontrollable and managed to become one continuously. If you have a negative trait that you can turn off for some reason, then it's not something that can bring problems to you. In the case of gambling, if you can control it for years and not have the urge to play it if you really don't like to, why would it be considered a problem?

Then again, I know that there are instances wherein people just 'snap' out of what they're doing regularly and just be in a period of chaos. It's a possibility, but if you can control something for a long time, then I'm sure you will have the ability to control it too when you enter the time of that said chaos.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need more influencial women in crypto to help the gender embrace it? on: February 14, 2024, 11:49:57 PM
I don't think it's necessary to push more women into the fold. There's just a lot of results being published for bitcoin alone that leaves the decision to women on whether they want to buy in to it or not. Goal and results-oriented women will likely be tempted to invest in bitcoin and be a leader in the field if they want to. It's their own drive and their own discretion on whether they want to be in the space or not. Having more women in the space will not inspire other women to it if it's not their cup of tea.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make use of what you disliked because you can't stay away from it. on: February 14, 2024, 11:44:08 PM
You have the option to not log in to that account anymore. You don't have to ask support to close that account on your behalf. You knowingly dolislike thw options in there, and there is that possibility from you to deposit to that account if ever you thought of playing. Better not do it like that, else you're only creating trouble for yourself and your funds as well.

Closing an account is an option, but choosing not to log in play is another, too.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 14, 2024, 11:14:17 PM
How many times Team Liquid was able to beat Gaimin Gladiators? I think this is just less than 5 matches, right? Team Liquid able to beat Gaimin Gladiators on a best of 3 games. What a satisfying ending for both teams. Windrunner as hero of micke for position 1. And I've seen 33 able to shake hands after the end of the game and obviously because they've won.

It's been a while since I've seen a pos 1 WR in the pro scene, and it's the same guys doing it. It was a nice refresher to games that utilize the same carries (Medusa, Spec, TB) in these games. Well, WR scales well if given the space and farm, and can easily take down buildings and has an extremely fast physical damage output that can overwhelm even a 6-slotted Spectre. Micke plays these heroes quite flexibly and tbh he's one of the players whom I really enjoy watching due to him easily adjusting to their meta.
354  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: February 14, 2024, 02:06:05 PM

Hi sir

what you say has completely non sense. I did an aribitrage bet only on one bet (ncaa basket women), and i covered my bets on other website. Realy do not understand. I don't think it's your business if i cover exposure using third bookmakers, it's part of a common trading strategy, that most gamblers apply, expecially in live events like basket where odds moves quickly. You talk like somebody never place a bets in his life and i don't know how people with so lack experience could running a sportsbook business. About bonus, i never claim any bonus, just place many bets (normal bet, only one i covered elsewhere). About VPN, i forget to swicth off the VPN one time, and i appear to be in moldovia, but i did not place any bets in that case. So do not uderstand where is the problem. My other ip are all italian ip and i am from italy

Are you new on sports betting? Because you should now that what you are doing is an arbitrage betting which is not allowed by the casino due to its nature of being a sure bet. Even if you are using different casino, They are using common bookmaker that makes your bet easy to detect for being a sure bet.

Logically speaking, there’s nothing wrong with this strategy as a player but you will definitely not like it as a casino player letting players drain your bankroll consistently without any risk. Casino is not a charity. Obviously they will not allow it since they are business after all. Arbitrage betting is well known here as not allowed strategy. In fact, there’s no casino allows it so you should not do that strategy if you don’t want to confiscate your profit out of it.

Seems like you really don’t have any idea that your strategy is not allowed. Try to browse the scam accusation board in the forum to see tons of user with same issue of yours on different sportsbook.

I think he is an expert in sports betting, I rarely bet on sports betting so I don't know what arbitrage betting is. I don't know why there are so many problems in sports betting, it seems like there is a deliberate cheating method so he was banned, to be honest I don't understand much about sports betting. I've been playing at shuffle for quite a while and haven't had any issues.

A quick Google search about arbitrage betting will land you into a couple of results stating that casinos hate it because of the fact that it removes the risk on the player and the casinos have everything to lose. Even a 1% gain from a single arbitrage bet will eventually stack up, and casinos don't like losing money. There are certain ways how the casinos are able to detect whether a bet is arbitrage or not, and the user here even admits that it is. Casinos are in the business of making money, so why would they allow such strategy to happen if they lose 100% of the time?
355  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 14, 2024, 06:42:37 AM
Perhaps increasing the wages alone is not the solution. It is one part of the equation, but if it's the only thing that will be controlled, prices of goods will come up fast. Because the means of production is significantly more expensive, producers will have no choice but to increase their prices as well. A controlled inflation is hard to achieve, but if the economic planners are smart enough to spot the signs from a mile away, it is possible and very achievable.

Giving people a lot of money while the said money's value tanks is not a smart way to combat inflation.
356  Economy / Economics / Re: saving vs investing - minimalism vs frugality on: February 14, 2024, 05:55:19 AM
I like how you cleared out the concept of minimalism and frugality. Many people think that in order to have some money for savings or investing, you have to literally deprive yourself of pleasure and other good things in life. You just have to keep things at the minimum and only spend on what you need to spend. I started doing this a couple of years back and my financial state is in a much better state now, able to afford a lot of things but choosing not to because I'm focused on building up my investments for my early retirement.

It might be different with individuals who are providing for their family, but eventually they will have the capacity to save at least a little of what they're taking home from their salaries and start from there.
357  Economy / Economics / Re: keep pleasures without incomes aside and Chase after profits on: February 13, 2024, 11:43:42 PM
It's an important point in your life, and IMO, it's not something that money can replace, at least in my understanding. It's best if you have separate funds for investments and for such matters. In this way, you are gaining on both of these aspects and not leaving the other behind. It's important to keep familial relations intact, too, and not just financial things since family is what's left when all of your money is gone.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: February 13, 2024, 09:22:58 PM
Emotions are the natural enemy of man when it comes to anything that involves decision making. It's best to stay away from feeling anything when it comes to gambling. Especially in bets wherein your favorites are involved, you'll never know when it will get the best of you. Having said that, practicing how to detach from your emotion is hard at first, but eventually it will feel as if you're not really making any decision at all as you think more rationally and sensibly.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will AI Take over the Position of VAR? on: February 13, 2024, 02:36:49 PM
Or possibly, they'll just implement AI to existing VARs to make more accurate decisions. I'd digress that they let the technology be defunct just because AI exists. Also, not every AI delivers 100% accuracy as there are still some that needs a huge training dataset in order to be 90% accurate with their given tasks. I don't understand the overreliance of people to AI thinking that it is a magical tool that will replace everything. Fact is, you still need people around AIs in order to make it work.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a betting shop be so dubious like this on: February 13, 2024, 02:24:51 PM
If it was me, I wouldn't leave the shop until my money is given to me. I can call the police right then and there if the betting shop do not honor my win but takes my money gladly whenever I lose. These people are corrupt to the core and don't deserve to live for years outside bars.

I'm just curious though, why are people using a "betting agent" when it's easy to open an account online and start to gamble? Can you specify from what country this incident happen?

This is from Nigeria based on the court where the trial was held (Lagos state) and the currency used (Naira). Some people work with agents in order to have some direct connections to the gambling platform to make things easier such as withdrawals, deposits, and other account problems however that is not the case here, unfortunately.

As to the story or news, I think everyone has to be blame as they all have responsibility to each other, the betting shop and the agent. Now, this one was already taken to the court, I'm hoping the justice system is fair and their will be decision as soon as possible, but that's my take.

Hopefully, though that long of a wait--a month before trial recommences--will give ample time for the defendants to possibly flee the country or go into hiding. They have all the evidence at hand, but with cases like this, it usually takes months before a resolution is concluded as I have observed here in my country.
