341  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins Price and Network Activity Edging Each Other on: April 06, 2019, 04:55:00 AM
first of all you are trying so hard to find a relationship where there is none. the fact that some addresses aren't used for long time it doesn't mean they are holding. there has been a lot of spam attacks against bitcoin of the type where they create lots of new outputs (send coin to addresses) these are not yet consolidated and many of them are staying dormant probably for next spam attack wave so a big part of the unused addresses can be because of that.

secondly you are following that up with a false assumption that the network activity is affecting the price while it is exactly the opposite. meaning the price affects the activity. for example when price went up fast a couple of days ago, afterwards the network activity increased. and when price became stable then afterwards the activity decreased. meaning price is affecting the activity not the other way around!
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is downloading money into your PC on: April 06, 2019, 04:44:10 AM
The sentences that you give are confusing, I get your point that it is "like" downloading money if you are mining but its NOT.

it still doesn't make sense even for mining because when you mine you still aren't downloading anything! you are working (hence the name Proof of Work or PoW) and you are using your computing power to find a hash which is some cryptography math that you are solving and finding a solution to get a reward for that. there still is no "download" involved.
343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just popped! $4700! on: April 04, 2019, 10:22:54 AM
There was a sudden spike of 25% within 60 minutes, as the prices peaked at $5,080 per coin in Bitstamp

Really?this is frustrating because i have waited for long in this $5000 value to sell out but suddenly i am late for the party though $4,750 is still better than past

Maybe you can still find a marketplace where the Bitcoin price moves around 5000 and you will be able to sell at your desired price.
I think that they price is going to move a little bit higher before it will stabilize, so I am keep waiting for that before I sell.

you are replying to a 2 day old comment and giving him a terrible advice!
by that time $5000 was considered the place where you should have sold because it was after a nice sudden rise and the correction was imminent which did actually happen and price went to $4700ish. now price has already gone back up to $5000 and is rising towards $5200 so there is a better chance that we see another breakout happen instead! in other words the target to sell at right now is above $5700 and closer to $6000.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World’s first lightning-enabled Bitcoin ATM on: April 04, 2019, 10:12:21 AM
Though I personally would never suggest using a bitcoin ATM due to the gigantic fees, this is good news nonetheless.

Agreed. I don’t use them but what we’re after is mainstream adoption so the more ATM’s dotted around the globe, the better.

the high fees of ATM machines is due to their unique type of service that they are providing and also because of the little competition that they are currently facing (there are only a handful of companies installing these ATMs and also there are few of them around in world). this will change in the long run and their fees will also come down, that is how the competition has always worked in business.
345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and Altcoin Prices on the Upward Trend on: April 04, 2019, 09:10:10 AM
it is only bitcoin that was rising, the rest of the altcoins dropped pretty hard during that time. I have already explained it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5127117.msg50420197#msg50420197
basically it is the USD market alongside BTC market for altcoins that have both which is causing this mistake among people thinking the altcoins have also gone up but in fact they have been dumped. you can see it in this chart how they lost value:

346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin IS a BUBBLE and will BURST! on: April 04, 2019, 08:31:52 AM
bitcoin has bubbles from time to time, some of them have been bigger than others and each time they become big they are always followed by a very long bear market where initially the bubble bursts and the correction ends but it still continues down like what he had for the second half of 2018 where the price kept being pushed down even though the bubble burst was complete.

to say there is never a bubble is just as wrong as saying bitcoin is a bubble.
as for these price level you are setting for upcoming bubbles, we have no way of predicting them right now. they depend a lot on the situation and what factors are contributing to that particular bubble in the future. additionally as we go forward the market becomes more mature and bigger and that prevents big bubbles from shaping so we will have smoother rises.
347  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to gain trust of users on a new free crypto website? on: April 04, 2019, 08:15:47 AM
I checked on your site and I notice its not yet secured, this is very important, people wants to navigate to a secured site, ask your web host to install an ssl, some webhost company offered it free to their clients but there are free ssl also but you need to install it yourself manually.

right, it must be secured, you should be open to the visitors and customers, try to add the website to a service like trustpilot - let people review it

how did you two open the website, I can't seem to even open it. it seems that it doesn't yet exist (only a domain name).  besides adding the link to other places and advertising it is not going to help OP with what he wants, which is trust which is not going to happen because his idea itself is flawed and seems more like a Ponzi scheme even if it really isn't.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World’s first lightning-enabled Bitcoin ATM on: April 04, 2019, 08:07:46 AM
this looks like a very strange idea!
Lightning Network is more suitable when you want immediate payments and specially when you want to do lots of them. with an ATM you are buying bitcoin or selling it once and although you may prefer the speed of LN but it is still not a requirement specially when you are buying bitcoin from ATM machines with money.
349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone now seems excited after bitcoin reaching to almost 5k Usd. on: April 03, 2019, 11:07:37 AM
... bitcoin has made a good market price pump up. ....it will just take a few months tp get an ATH once again with bitcoin.

sorry to disappoint you but unlike what you obviously think about bitcoin, it really isn't some pump and dump scheme that can go up to its ATH which would mean a 566% rise in "a few months" just because you got excited seeing a small rise which was more like the correction of an undervalued price as a result of a big drop last year thanks to BCH fork drama and FUD.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bearish road over? on: April 03, 2019, 11:00:33 AM
it is funny how most people have changed their stance right away specially those who were saying price should fall down hard and go below $3k not so long ago, not necessarily in this topic but this made me think of that as for the past 48 hours I have been seeing a lot of them not just change their stance but also start panic buying a little too although they are still doubtful and have other kinds of fear!
351  Economy / Speculation / Re: I SMELL FOMO on: April 03, 2019, 07:48:51 AM
a "dead cat bounce" doesn't last this long, price should have already dropped down to $3100 if it was really one of them. additionally a "dead cat bounce" requires a "dead cat" to bounce and bitcoin is not dead unless YOU think otherwise!

this is not a FOMO either, not exactly anyways. there is obviously some FOMO in every rise but a real FOMO would be if price went up to $7000 not from $4100 to $4700 which was a 14% rise. and that is only 4% higher than the amount that we usually consider daily fluctuations!
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about a Bitcoin government ? on: April 03, 2019, 07:18:42 AM
I just wanted to discuss - *DO WE NEED BITCOIN GOVERNMENT?*

NO, never.

you can however start groups, foundations,... and call it whatever you like such as bitcoin-foundation, bitcoin-governance,... and do things you were talking about in here. but you will have to fund all those "groups" out of your own pocket and do it as a form of non-profit thing because bitcoin is decentralized and nobody is going to pay you to do things like legalizing it, pursuing lawsuits,...
353  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC now above $5k, seem like its not just a pump? on: April 03, 2019, 07:08:36 AM
price is not yet completely above $5000 but it is moving towards that. resistance wise at the moment there isn't that much of a resistance on the orderbooks because we have just exited the previously long and strong resistance at $4200 and right now people are expecting the rises to happen so they don't place that many sell orders to cause any resistance.
so if we continue with this rise we can easily see price crawling back up to resistances much higher than $5k and $6k. but if it gets stuck here for more than a day or two then it becomes harder to break it.
354  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what do we think of thing continuous gradual rise of Bitcoin recently? on: April 02, 2019, 09:22:45 AM
I have been fully expecting the bottom to last until at least late Summer, if not into the Fall.

the accumulation phases can never last a whole year and if they do that means the market is dead which bitcoin is far from it! it is actually growing bigger so it has to have short stable phases like that. and this started in 2018 when price entered the $3k range for the first time.
as it is evident by today's rise, we can see how unstable the market gets the more it is kept in one price level with force and manipulation. we end up seeing a big green candle shooting up to higher prices in an hour!
355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just popped! $4700! on: April 02, 2019, 07:25:35 AM
baffled by this sudden surge, as I couldn't find any positive news about Bitcoin in the mainstream media.
positive news? how about more than 6 months of accumulation with moderately stable price signaling (or rather shouting) an upcoming rise like this?

Quote
The BCH prices are also going up and nearing the $170 resistance level.
not it has not. in fact it has been dropping. it has dropped 10%
what you see in its USD price is the bitcoin price rise not the BCH price rise. it is a common thing with altcoins that have both btc price and usd price. BCH was worth 0.04BTC and when bitcoin started rising it got dumped hard down to 0.036BTC which is a 10% drop. but because it also has a USD price and bitcoin has gone up more than 10% you are seeing a fake USD price rise in it.

here is a chart to help you see the dump:
as you can see the BCH/BTC which is the real market got dumped while the BCH/USD went up but NOT equal to the dump amount which is another proof of the overall DUMP.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day with Bitcoin on: April 02, 2019, 06:55:13 AM
In my local, it's not illegal but no one accepts bitcoin as currency or payment method.

that is the problem with adoption not bitcoin. it is a slow process that can take years before you can call it adopted and see it accepted in most places.
for example when something like PayPal first came out, nobody even trusted it let alone want to use it. if you went to some shop and wanted to pay with it, nobody would have accepted it. but nowadays it is used a lot more although it is terrible and has a lot of issues. and even today in some countries they don't even know what PayPal is!
bitcoin is the same, except that unlike PayPal there is a lot of FUD against it which is slowing the adoption down even more.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Core only software to run full node on bitcoin network? on: April 02, 2019, 06:36:57 AM
I know bitcoin core is the most popular/suggested software to run a full node, but are there other options? I've heard of others like Bitcoin Unlimited. My question is, would those nodes running alternative software still have to have that software adhere to the protocol rules of bitcoin in order to be a full node on the network?
No anyone can desgin their own.Its just that rules and coding knowledge is required.Armory wallet is the best alternative to bitcoin i can recall

you are talking about writing code for a full node which consists of a lot of different components most of which are security sensitive like the consensus rules enforced by the network, wallet related parts such as signing,... this is not an easy task to perform!
as for Armory, it is only an addition on top of bitcoin core so you can't say it is a different software.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin "BIG" Green Candle on: April 02, 2019, 06:21:40 AM
Still personally debating if I should temporarily sell a small amount or just wait this out.

you should sell but only if you are a day trader. otherwise don't cause yourself unnecessary stress.
this rise like any other rise which is fast, will need a correction. the trick is knowing where the climax is and also to know where the bottom of that correction is going to be.
I personally don't bother with this types of "profit", but it could be selling around $4800-$4900 (if we get there!) and buying back around $4300 of course these numbers strongly depends on how the following hours are going to work out. and they can change.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin "BIG" Green Candle on: April 02, 2019, 05:44:32 AM
Now, big green candles are definitely a very good sight. But what actually matters if we can actually hold at this price range. I doubt it, but as long as we won't go back down below $4000 then I'm fine with it. This price increase looks nothing close to being organic at all.

Hoping for the best though. 🤞

it is impossible to predict it at this point though. because it depends on multiple factors that can determine the result. for example as I said above if it keeps up we can see $6k and by then price won't come back down ever again. but another scenario which is more likely is to stay behind the $5k resistance in which case holding the current level depends on how much the day traders are going to panic and how much FOMO is going against their panic.

one thing is clear though, the rising days have started.
360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats with the sudden surge ? on: April 02, 2019, 05:35:21 AM
Edit 1: Current price $4800+ . According to my experience with BTC I think it's a pump and dump because such surge without reason usually indicates a pump and dump.

it looks like it when you only look at the current rise and ignore why price was even here in first place and what led to it staying there.

this rise is the inevitable result of price being extremely under the real value of bitcoin and being kept there with manipulation and out of fear. when price was manipulated and dumped below the real value at $6k a lot of investors got scared and have been saying out waiting for entrance. that wait ends when price breaks a resistance ($4.2k in this case) so they rush back in.
