They want a race war.

This is not a race war.

This is communists taking advantage of those who cannot think well for themselves.

With the perpetrator bonding out for $1,000, I have grave concerns with the trajectory this country is on the precipice of navigating.

Always keep an eye on the sidelines, on the things they are trying to distract from. Everytime something big is supposed to happen, they always try to lure attention away, so that the crowd does not interfere during crucial moments.

Pet food is just human food from the parts that don't appeal as delicious/high quality to humans and is considered low quality. The manufacturers grind it all up and repackage it as "pet food". The retailers jack up prices and market it as healthier for pets. The truth is: its cheaper and healthier if you just feed them regular food that you eat too.

Just make sure you dont give them food that they shouldn't eat. (chocolate, grapes, onions, garlic, salt/seasonings...)

Pet food is a marketing scam.

My late father was a truck driver, he owned one of those really large SCANIA trucks. I remember when I was a kid, he told me a funny story. He was travelling abroad with a couple of fellow drivers. So one night they went to the local supermarket to buy some canned food to eat. The food tasted really delicious, and they commented that this country had some really tasty canned food. When they collected the empty cans and remaining stuff to throw away, one of them noticed that the food was in fact dog food. They didn't spot it when they bought it from the supermarket! Nothing happened to them. They didn't buy it again though. When he came back he spoke normally, he didn't bark or anything.

It's fine to eat. But may be less safe due to the fact that pet food does not have to follow the same regulations as human food. Our aversion to eating pet food comes from the fact that its called "pet food". That makes it seem alien and dirty in our minds.

3447  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we in a bear trap? on: November 20, 2021, 01:48:21 PM
I would not call it a bear trap just yet. Its a normal correction. Completely within expected parameters. If we were to experience a sharp, sudden drop then I might start thinking of whether or not to call the situation a bear trap, but then again I would be spending hours with technical chart analysis and combing through news articles about the current macro of the market.

But I still firmly believe that we will reach 100k sometime soon (going by the bitcoin logarithmic chart). If you decide to sell now you might be avoiding a short term drop but you might also miss out on an amazing pump. I would rather hodl.

Long story short: No need to panic. Cool
3448  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: [MUST-TO-SEE] ARTE Doku-Reihe 2021 über den Bitcoin (6 Folgen) on: November 20, 2021, 01:39:09 PM

Yes, indeed, now is as it switched to OA, but it used to be much less, but it is paid from grants anyway, not from the own pocket. But the true new outrage is the review charge (~2K euro). Now, I mostly teach (don't want to write grants anymore), but when i published there last, there was no charge for review...it is quite ridiculous.
Arxiv is great (and very popular) for physics, much less so for Biology.

Arxiv is an amazing option for someone without affiliations or grants. Especially math and physics.

Well, that's a bit personal question, but I am 29.
Is that could be a matter to be annoying?
I don't think that age could be a reason be the ugly guy. Bill gates are 66 and still, he is one of the richest men. Soborno Isaac bari is (9) the youngest professor globally and people knew him as an Einstein of our time.

So, I think age and size, don't matter.

There is no record of this kid, Soborno Isaac Bari, ever teaching in a university let alone holding a job title “professor”. The Father seems to be a con artist presenting videos and reeling in the average adult these days that believes everything on social media.

I can't find any publications by this kid either. So its all bullshit. It may seem ignorant/arrogant, but at this point I believe NOTHING coming out of India.
3450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2021, 04:18:30 AM
Also: about peer reviewed papers - make sure you check who it was that reviewed the paper and where it was published. I could send in a paper which states human shit cures cancer to an "institute" in India and get it published in some BS "science journal" with 50 peer reviews from some indian scientists nobody has ever heard of and probably don't even exist or who do exist and only care about making money.

I would only have to pay a few thousand dollars.

Best way to deal with this is to look up the journal's "Impact Factor". This shows how many times papers have been cited in other journals and their resultant quality.

IF >20=Science, Nature, JAMA
IF <2=Indian Times, DUH, etc.

This is not as good a guide as it once was. There is a lot of stuff that is absolutely not reproduciable in the higher up journals. Publishing has always been somewhat political and a who you know type thing and I feel that it is only getting worse. Though in this case I imagine the Indian Times is indeed shitter. But certainly don't trust the leading journals.

I myself am listed as a author (not first or last) in a recent enough paper published in Nature communications and currently have another paper in the same journal under review.

I also published in Nature, both as a first and last author (not recently, though) and it was very tough to get done as they receive vastly more papers than they could publish.
Many people in our field never had a paper published there and several of mine were rejected as well, then published in lesser journals.

Yep, they would get flooded with papers. We don't often publish in such high ranking journals but if we think we have even a small chance we'll generally take it. No loss if they don't accept, especially if outright rejection (as it's quicker), then just move down the line. Having those high ranking papers does help come grant time so it's definitely worth a shot. Mind you no grants for me this round, but thanks to Bitcoin I really don't care anymore.

Whats the APC for publishing in Nature? 9-11k USD? Might as well just submit your paper to Arxiv and hope somebody stumbles across it before you die of old age. Lips sealed
3451  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does someone use trading bots? on: November 19, 2021, 11:21:29 PM
I have two issues with using trading bots. The first issue would be that I don't feel like I could trust a trading bot not to make mistakes which could lose me all my money. Programs aren't perfect and not even modern AI can be deemed anywhere near human intelligence in most cases. Secondly, if there was a trading bot that was powerful and could make good trades even better than humans, then nobody would sell it. Why sell it if you could make more money by being the only one using it? No bot competition.

So one way or another, I prefer good old human brains. Grin

Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Vladimir Ze’ev Zelenko before Israeli Rabbinical Court

The Nobel foundation keeps the nominee's list in secret, which is why there is no such thing as a "official" nobel prize nominee. Also, almost anyone with a high academic status can nominate someone else for a nobel prize. Bullshit-Marketing tactics only hurt your cause.

15 years regular PayPal user here. Never did anything wrong. Never had conflicts. Today I received an E-Mail from PayPal. Telling me my account will be deleted within 180 days due to violation of user terms. No reason given why and what I did wrong. Called customer service. They could not tell me either. Just another reason why we need Bitcoin.

Not your pay, not your pal.

Can't you just be the owner and let a licensed apothecary be the executive, if you know what I mean.

I guess. But that does take a lot of the fun out of it.
3455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH OR BSC on: November 19, 2021, 12:12:16 PM
One of the reasons why binance savvy chain gets to be this enormous right presently is since ethereum gas expense is exceptionally tall and this constrain a few ventures to switch to BSC but what do you think will happen once ethereum gas expense goes lower in close few months? Will BSC confronted same destiny as binance DEX? Or BSC will stay the way better choice over ethereum?

BSC is never as decentral as ETH. And I doubt it will ever be. It is semi decentralised and could prove to be vulnerable for attacks. However, looking away from that aspect alone, it is waaay cheaper than ETH when it comes to transaction fees. Even if ETH finally catches up, I doubt it will ever have fees as low as BSC and by the time its newest updates bear fruit, there will be better alternatives to ETH. So I do not see ETH having much of a future, or at least not having a future which is a sucessful as it was before. But things remain to be seen. I might be wrong. Undecided
3456  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat banks and the government. on: November 19, 2021, 12:05:49 PM
A recent situation in my country where the banks have been instructed to block accounts related/associated with crypto trading has prompted me to start thinking if these banks are actually happy carrying out government policies against their customers, because some of them seem not too happy about it but look to have little or no choice on the matter.

Can the banks challenge the policies from the government? Are the banks working for the people or the government? is there any possibility that banks can operate freely entirely from government policies?

(Read news article here)

A bank  operating freely from government policies? Thats basically what crypto is for... But to answer your question, no, no that is not at all possible. The banks have to do as their government tells them. Of course they would not be happy to block accounts of their own customers because that means spending more money doing so and also having unhappy clients who are getting mad at them for doing so.

Its a loss for the banks.

charas is fucking gross. Why would anyone want to smoke skin cells, skin oil and probably fecal matter in their hash?

Same goes for Jamaican gum.

There will always be a place in my heart for good Nepalese balls though, and even Malani (Manali) cream.

I figure if you're smoking it you're sterilizing it.

Well, yeah but its really the thought behind it. Like hash eggs. You might sterilize them with fire but you can't sterilize your mind from knowing where they were.

So start a pharmacy and specialize in weed.

I would need to study pharmacy for 4 years in university + 1 year internship.

Considering how badly I fried my brain studying physics... Im not going back.

... good that they getting the cops and courts out of a health problem by finally seeing sense on the futile the war on drugs after only 70 years ...

... it's not like anybody would even suggest would need health passports and cops checking on where everybody is and courts handing out large fines to control a health problem like drug use

Yeah, the situation used to be: smoke a week ago, get pulled over while driving, take a test, fail because you have teeny tiny traces of thc in your bloodstream, lose your license forever. And probably your job.

...some of my home pressed hash...
How do you make your hash? pollom or extract?

Ice hash from fine sieve bags.

I don't use tobacco either just a simple pipe.

I'm just not used to it everyday, like some of you guys.

Tried the butane method through a perfume extractor, but lots of problems, obtaining odorless butane, safety and so on.
Sorry, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Real hash is made from landrace plants grown in the Balkh province of northern Afghanistan, slowly dried, sieved through fine silk into jooshi garda, and then heated and kneaded into a rich black paste, being decarboxylated in the process.

Yum.

It also strikes a blow against the Taliban. It was actually what helped the Northern Alliance (Dostum et al) kick the Taliban's ass out of Mazari Sharif back in 2001, after helping drive back the Soviets over a decade earlier.

Hashish is freedom.

Can't wait to try dabs. Also, I did not know hash got decarboxylated in the process... This means you could literally eat it and get stoned?

also, charas is fucking gross. Why would anyone want to smoke skin cells, skin oil and probably fecal matter in their hash?

If you're serious... not uninteresting.

I heard a rumor that selling-licenses will be only given to pharmacys. But I hope that's fake news.
