3441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam vs. Legit tokens on: November 11, 2017, 02:17:16 PM
How to know if token from airdrop is a scam or legit?
- They have products that are already working.
- Their products serve to solve that problem in the community.
- Clear long-term plan

Great points. Basically, to obtain this information, the best thing to do is to research on the coins or tokens. Also, take note that there are some hackers that use airdrops to hack and obtain your wallet details in fraudulent ways. So, joining blindly can have a double-edge effect because it put you on a vulnerable position.

Bitcoin is a good investment now, because...all the other traditional investment platforms aren't giving any serious returns to the investors. People can barely beat the inflation or make some wealth in the long term. This is where it's wise to invest into bitcoin and other rising altcoins which can give 10x to 20x returns and even more if things go well enough.

The crypto currency has very low to nil correlation to the assets compared to the traditional investments. Hence, investors can use them as a tool to hedge their portfolio.

It is a good investment. The price it commands in the market, its high marketability, its off the ceiling potential, and its gaining recognition in the global market are some of the good reasons why investing in it is good.
Share your opinion.

3444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: November 10, 2017, 11:20:10 AM
Are you a bitcoin fan?
Do you spend a lot of time on bitcoin? Reading news, trading, or even writing your own analysis.
But how did you first hear about bitcoin?
Is it some articles you read about? Or just from a friend who has traded bitcoin for a long time?

Share your experience with us. Grin

I learned about bitcoin 4 years ago. However, I thought that bitcoin was a scam because I was wondering how people earn money by just staying inline or investing money online. I regret not buying any bitcoin when it was too cheap.

3446  Economy / Economics / Re: Is time too late on: November 09, 2017, 06:48:58 PM
i just check old posts in Currency exchange and Found how bitcoin was so cheap at 2011

Example

this User ask for 32$ only to sell 2BTC

2.00 BTC for sale - $32 USD (MTGOX PRICE is 16.68)

Only trusted members with reputation!

So are you think time now is too late  or some one in future will say how price was cheap in 2017 like my post

Shear what you think Huh

It is never too late to invest bitcoin. Bitcoin price will keep on increasing, so it's better to buy now while it is affordable. A lot of influential people are investing bitcoin because they find bitcoin a profitable long-term investment.
3447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: November 09, 2017, 06:31:27 PM
Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

It's good to have a drink after working for a long day. I think that people drink to socialize and to relive stress. However, there's no other benefit from drinking. Drinking ruins your health and in time you might get sick because of it. It's better to drink with moderation.
3448  Economy / Economics / Re: When is the right time to buy bitcoin ? on: November 08, 2017, 06:21:46 PM
Today bitcoin price dump so i tell today is right time to buy bitcoin. bitcoin price always increase it's price decrease but it not long time. so every day is right time to buy.

That's right. Buy low, sell high! It's the usual principle for business and trade. Right now the price of bitcoin is actually high because many are hording due to the fork. So, for now, it's not a good idea to buy. However, after the fork, the price would experience a slump which would be a good time to buy and wait until it recuperates.
3449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hold or Sell on: November 08, 2017, 06:02:35 PM
This is prety much individual decision and depends on individual needs and point of view, the goals that you have. Personaly, I think there is no need to sell, unless you need funds but it would be profitable to hold long term and its always better to earn as much as you can. But every trader knows the best for itself.

That's right. It depends on what venture you would want to push through, and it would also depend on the coins your are holding. If you are in the bitcoin market, the better plan is to hold it until the fork to get the free equivalent coins only designated for bitcoin holders. On the other hand, if you are a holder of altcoins, it would be better for your to also hold them and sell them after the fork. Some bitcoin holders, however, are selling them now while the price is very high.
3450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you in favor of same sex marriage? on: November 08, 2017, 05:45:10 PM
Some countries or state have been accepting this kind of marriage. Here in the Philippines, we do not recognize it as legal or something like that. How about in your country?

I;m not quite sure on the status of same sex marriages in my country but I, personally, don't have anything against it and nothing against those couples adopting kids. Why? Well I believe that a child would have a much better childhood and with growing up with a loving parents, who can provide him with the necessities, will help him achieve his goals a lot easier rather than growing up in foster families or similar to that.

I agree. In this day and age, we should drop the discriminating ways of seeing people and how they see themselves and the relationships they want to pursue in life. As long as they don't do any harms to others, it's their freedom to do what they want. However, I think what's stopping most countries is their religious stand on how relationships and marriage should work. In the Philippines, being that it is a Catholic country, many people are still not open in the idea of same sex marriage.
3451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price Worth $7500 on: November 08, 2017, 05:28:32 PM
Bitcoin Price Will Have ‘No Difficulty’ Hitting $10,000,
After Bitcoin hit $7,000 and stayed above it Monday, the virtual currency’s most famous fans are confident $10,000 will involve little effort.
Will the bitcoin price reach $10k by the end of the year, then what about the altco price??

Maybe, maybe not. However, I think it would have a hard time reaching even 10,000 because of the up coming fork. Many forecasters and seasoned user are suggesting that it the value of the bitcoin would dip and decrease as it would proportionately effect altcoins, which would increase and soar. What I am actually hoping for is the fact that bitcoin, if and ever, its value decreases, would be able to recuperate and get back to its former state or better.
3452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will you invest in after the fork? on: November 08, 2017, 05:10:40 PM
Ethereum,Litecoin,Waves,Stratis- I hope for them!

I agree with your list, especially ethereum. Many long-time and seasoned bitcoin users forecast that the value of the above-mentioned altcoins would soar as the value of bitcoins would drop. However, you should be investing in it right now while their prices are low instead of going for it after the fork when their prices would begin to increase.
3453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easy way to explain and teach Bitcoin on: November 08, 2017, 04:53:07 PM
If you are going to teach it with the child who is 7 year old, you are going to use the word that can easily understand or comprehend them, but it really depends on the child if the child is not interested they will not easily understand it coz we all know that age is not the age that a child will give time to understand it. There is a child who are very curious but only few.

Firs off, would it really be necessary to teach a 7-year-old about the principles of bitcoin. I think it's too early to do so. Also, it won't be as useful to them, especially in this stage where it is not really of the mainstream market. Having said, in response to the topic, I think first talk about where you could closely compare it to like money and what you can do with it. Because, if you would start with the concept then I'm sure any seven year old would hardly be interested.
3454  Economy / Economics / Re: How to train your money for costly bitcoin? on: November 08, 2017, 04:37:32 PM
Given the situation of bitcoin prices are growing higher and more higher since last few weeks is becoming more and more difficult to keep up with the regular small fixed amount of purchase. Earlier for 100 dollars a month or bimonthly I was able to see the reasonable amount of bitcoin ( or should I say satoshis). Nowadays the prices have gone high which feels real good for existing amount purchased so far. However at the same time getting clueless about how much should be put aside for regular bitcoin purchase. Because for 100 dollars the amount of satoshis we get is nothing.
What do you think how to tackle the problem of investing in bitcoin on regular basis with prices going high and higher?
The only thing you can do in order to maximize the amount of bitcoin you can buy is to buy bitcoin when there is a dip in the price, another strategy is to save all your money and wait for a major correction, it was not long ago there was a correction below 2000 dollars, but the problem with that strategy is there is not a guarantee that bitcoin is going to go that low and may go up instead.

I agree. I think that it would always be a good business move to buy low and sell high. It's a principle most businesses use in order to gain some profit. The main difference, however, with the bitcoin market is that you need to study the trends and how the market works in the prevailing time, since it can change very easily. Also, it should be noted that you also need to know when you should be selling them to gain maximum profit.
3455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: November 08, 2017, 04:20:35 PM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.

I think it's never too late. I mean, although the bitcoin value is really high already, I still think that it haven't reached its potential, and therefore, its value. I also that it's not too late because the recognition of bitcoin has been increasing, and so, it's marketability would increase with it. As they say, strike while the iron is hot!
3456  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: November 07, 2017, 09:59:55 PM
Well, when something huge is away from the control of the group of the small number of people (we call them our representatives) there are fewer chances of affecting the financial status or mindset of the large population. When the something called value (not the promise of paying the value) is held by the large population, they will try best to defend their financial position in the global downfall since they own the control of their values. Crypto currencies would play a key role in the coming years that would transform the way we used to live in the financial society.

I think there is a need of a digital currency or crypto currency for people to have more options and medium to pay and transact. It gives people the freedom to use it in whichever part of the world they are in, with all the convenience they can enjoy. It also gives a central currency that is not required to be exchanged for before you can use it in any country.
3457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Considerations before buying BTC on: November 07, 2017, 09:33:05 PM
What is the metrics that you take into account before investing in BTC? Do you think about how much it has been rising, what is news is coming up, and your personal belief in crypto?
I didn't do any of these things. The only thing that comes to mind when investing in BTC is whether you want to make money or not. If the answer to that question is yes, then you buy Bitcoin as soon as possible because you don't really know what the price is going to do in this highly unpredictable market.

And it was the right call after all. The money you will make by waiting for a potential dip which may not even happen is negligible to the amount you will make by just buying at any time and holding.

I think the best consideration would be its buying price. While some consider it's selling value, it would be best to consider how much you could buy it so that you would have a view of how much would your target be to trade or exchange it. Being a volatile currency,  you also need to consider so many other factors, though.
3458  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: November 07, 2017, 09:16:50 PM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

Since you used 'or', I think the better choice would be gold. A 10 year period would be very uncertain for bitcoin to hold. It may still be there, but the price may not be as high as now. Unlike gold that has become a prime commodity over the last hundreds of years since it has been widely commercialized.
3459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way to keep bitcoins? on: November 07, 2017, 09:01:50 PM
So if i put the Ledger in my computer and with the wallet on my pc i sent it to the wallet on the Ledger usb then they the coins are gone from my computer and stored on the usb?

the coin or bitcoin is not a physical thing like fiat to transfer from one place to another.
a bitcoin wallet is a place to keep they keys. these keys are used to spend bitcoin, bitcoin which exists in form of transaction outputs stored on the blockchain and blockchain is held by every person around the world who is running a full node client.

so in short you keep the keys on Ledger or paper wallet, etc and then use that key for spending which is known as creating a transaction and signing it.

(i hope i didn't make it more confusing)

Actually, the safest way to keep your coins is how safe you keep you addresses and passwords. After all,  you are the only one who should know them. Also make sure to choose anot e-wallet that has many safeguards like encryptionsome that would keep your coins safe.
3460  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had 10k Would you buy Bitcoin before the fork or after? on: November 07, 2017, 07:52:22 PM
Noob here asking , If you had 10k Would you buy Bitcoin before the fork or after?  and Why? Would it make a difference if you had 100k?

I think it is better to buy after the fork once bitcoin price is stable. I'm sure a lot of people would dump bitcoin after receiving their free coins from the fork. It is good to buy bitcoin when it is cheap.
