3201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk alt-coins - No Bull! on: January 04, 2018, 11:28:49 AM
So, as you know there are way too many alt-coins for everyone to keep up!

There are also a ton of bots and rubbish people on here advertising. I want to try and start a thread which will hopefully attract some smart investors that understand investing. Not just bitcoin will make you rich.

Looking to be pointed towards some good coins. No Referrals please. Just good quality coins that you yourself are invested in. I'll be doing my own thorough research so scammers don't waste your time.

I'll kick things off briefly.

Districtx0 - Awesome project that has the possibility of rapid expansion because it can act as a good introduction to block-chain technology for non tech savy users. Still cheap and rising well. I can see this project taking off and becoming a major part of the way communities around the world operate in the future.

Etherparty - Similar in a sense that it will act as an excellent introduction and help distribute a feature of the blockchain technology to the rest of the world/ world.

TRON - This project is world changing. Even though a killing has already been made, and you could still probably earn some short-term profits, this is a long-term investment IMO. It will be nearly 10 years before the TRON protocol is fully developed and by then the price could be astronomical. They are a chines organisation with global plans. I'm calling it the retirement fund. There will be plenty oh high, low's and crashes, but I'm holding on.

Fun Fair - Another good cheap coin. Very experienced team involved here with big plans for the future. This is a little bit of personal preference because they are involved in my industry, but I can see them only going forward.

As for the more expensive coins, I think NEO, DASH, and ETHEREUM look solid investments. Surely ETHER will gain some serious momentum soon. Every ICO you see is using the Ethereum blockchain.

Good read. Thank you for some useful information. Although, I think any investment with altcoins should be done with caution, because as you know, altcoins are greatly affected, and sometimes negatively, with movements that happen with bitcoin. Knowing that bitcoin is the most powerful cryptocurrency around, then everything that happens with it has a profound effects on altcoins. I agree with your suggestions as to which altcoins are the powerful ones to invest on; however, with the newer ones, I think I still need to do a lot of research myself and read about those you've mentioned. Good stuff mate.
3202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin or ripple ? on: January 04, 2018, 11:10:58 AM
guys

whats do you think and why ?

i mean in the next 2-5 years
whats your word ?

If your premise is 2-5 years, which is I think a long term investment,  I would choose bitcoin, not only because it's safer, but because it has the chance to give you higher return. Ripple, although, it's increasing is just in its starting up stages, where its value is not pretty big, therefore, it would be better for a short term invest because it still has a long way to go and a lot of things to experience, unlike bitcoin, which is somewhat a little more established in the cryptocurrency market.
3203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you donate Bitcoin for the poor and needy? on: January 04, 2018, 10:41:06 AM
The point is to keep a bitcoin separately for donation to the poor. Donating a bitcoin directly will make sense if the receiver is aware of the functioning of bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. A poor and / or needy man can be sometimes an educated man or a knowledgeable man who is struggling to meet his ends. Bitcoin can otherwise be encashed and given to the poor.

It is always better to think big. I would rather create a trust or try to invest in healthcare or education of a poor child. All quick helps will not last long. Educating one child by spending a $25000 or more will reap great benefits to the society in comparison with feeding a whole lot of people once with the same money. Though it is not bad to feed but it is better to invest in a system that more than once continually feeds.

Yes I will donate Bitcoin to the poor and needy the way I feel is best useful for them. One percentage of the income can always be set aside for donation. After all, life is short and it is best to help as much as we can.

I think instead of donating bitcoin for the needy and poor, which they are not aware or knowledgeable on using. I think the better charitable equivalent of this act is to just encash your bitcoin and then donate that cash to the poor and the needy through charity with which they can use it effectively to help those in need. The problem with giving straight up help to people who are in need is the fact and reality that they use it in other things rather than using it to help themselves. It is known that besides those who are in the state because of some bad luck, many of them are there because of addiction and overspending, and sometimes, even if they don't have the means anymore, they still can't change the attitude that led them to their demise.
3204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in altcoin still worth? on: January 04, 2018, 10:26:06 AM
I think invest in some altcoins still worth but you need patient for waiting the price will growing up.
Altcoin prices can suddenly rise a lot in a short time.

I agree. That's the thing about altcoins, the margin for failure is bigger because of the effects of so many trends to its price point. Also, since there are a lot of altcoins present in the market, it's too difficult to choose and rely on just one or a few of them. However, I think that there is still good potential in investing in altcoins; you just need to be smart and choose the coins that have better chances to increase in value short term. For now, I would suggest to invest in Ripple, LTC, and sumokoin for short term investments.
3205  Other / Off-topic / Re: The function of religion ? on: January 04, 2018, 10:11:38 AM
I'm an atheist and have the following standpoint:

 - All religions are hoaxes, making people belive in non-existing gods.

Religions serve the following purposes:

1. Making people have some comfort in their lives, having something else than themselves to pray to and look up to. This is mostly culturrally dependent,
most people adhere to the religion were they grew up, and what was ingrained in them from early childhood.

2. To keep uneducated people in control.

3. To keep power and control in a central position.

If religion was all about love to your God, and it was all a mental thing, there would be no need for churches, and all accessories that goes with a religion.

It's sad that a God-fearing man goes regularily to church to get closer to his maker. He could've been just as close to his God in his couch at home.

Many religious entities collect money, and are rather greedy, there are internal battles about power and control, just think of the Vatican.

I think it's rather sad that in 2012, so many people put their belief in something that doesn't exist. You may pray, and you may feel that your prayers were heard,
and things turn for the better in your life, but most of the time, the prayers are futile, and the only one that can change anything in your life is yourself.

States need to separate themselves from religion, and any religious society needs to take care of itself. Many religious societies does serve a good purpose in their
municipality, and there's nothing wrong with that,  and I do respect anyone that has their faith, but I don't think there's any God of any sorts, and people need to take
responsibility for their own lives.

Will the earth ever come to a point where people are so educated that they understand that science is the only true answer, and that everything else is fairytales ?

As much as I respect any Christian or any devoted religious person from any other religion (I may think his belief is a joke, but I would never say it to his face to force a confrontation in disrespect), I don't think any religions should have any special protection under the law.

Part of the problem is that Religion is so ingrained into the culture of most countries, that many people don't even question it.

Education will put the power in the hands of the people to learn about the world around them, and will remove the power of the leaders of their religion over them.

As an atheist, I don't think your religion defines whether you're a good person or not, that's more down to the person itself, and the values you've been taught in your upbringing, and what you've learned through your education.

Now, with the recent uproar about the 'Innocence of Muslims'-movie, people shouldn't get upset about it. If they don't like it, they should simply ignore it, and don't speak of it. Killing people, making riots etc. and claim that it's because of this movie, this is not right. People are always responsible for what they do.

If I were a Christian, and someone mocked my religion and called me a religious fool, and I got angry and burned down their house, that would be completely unacceptable by me, and I would need to take the full penalty for it.

Some people say we should not provoke 'islam' through cartoons, movies etc. And this may seem like the easy way out. But what if we continously bombarded Islam with this material, would they keep rioting every day of the week, every week, every month and every year, or would they finally sit down and say to themselves: "I'm tired of fighting, I can be a good muslim, no matter what any people say about my religion".

Islam doesn't receive more goodwill by having it's followers react like this, I would think most sivilized people just seeing this for what it is; outright crimes. Also I think a lot of the people that we see rioting in the streets, are only using this movie as an excuse for acting like they do.

Is there a single other Religion in the world were the members would've reacted like this over a movie ?

What do you all think ?

Good read. And, it is kind-a fascinating to see the point of view of an atheist about religious things, but it is nonetheless educational on my part. I think the function of religion is the idea of having something greater than yourself or other things material to believe and have faith in. I have a religion, and I totally believe in the ways of how my religion works; however, I think that I practice things differently as well. For myself, I just want to live a good life without hurting other people, and that, I think is the most important thing, because to almost every religion, it is just to live your life while respecting others.
3206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: If an exchange gets hacked on: January 04, 2018, 09:55:49 AM
I was just wondering about something. From time to time we see exchanges get hacked, with a big loss of Bitcoins for the customers as a result. However, I was wondering if the other coins and tokens you are invested in disappears as well? Let's say Ripple, Zcash, Monero etc.

I think even if there are measures to find or at least track those lost coins through hacked exchanges, it would be very difficult because it's actually one of the features of the cryptocurrency market. It is very private with its transactions, and there is no paper trail that a person could follow to find the dealing made by a person with another. With that said, I think the most important aspect of dealing your with other people or other entities is to be secure with the information that you need to have and give in order for the transaction to push through. I think if you would be extra careful with them, then you would decrease the risk of your transactions being at risk, more so hacked.
3207  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Bitcoin be ban? on: January 04, 2018, 09:40:14 AM
Can Bitcoin be ban?

Yes, it's possible. Bitcoin can be banned from some countries but people who loved bitcoin will always find a way to use this. They can banned bitcoin, but the government or no one can ever stop us from using it. Even if they banned it, we will still surely use it. So banning bitcoin from countries will be useless. They can never control people.

I think many government, especially those that are negative about the cryptocurrency market and bitcoin use have showed great interest in controlling the use of cryptocurrencies in their locales. One of the control measure would be to ban bitcoin if they would feel that it would be bad for their citizens and with their own economies. Unfortunately, not all countries want to take advantage of the good things bitcoin or the cryptocurrency market might bring, so instead of supporting it, they want to regulate it.
3208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80k made in two weeks! Road to 1 MILLION by the end of 2018. (Crypto Investing) on: January 04, 2018, 09:25:07 AM
Selling too early, I can definitely relate to that. I sold Ripple at $2.5, bought at $0.5, but its close to $4 now. Also sold Ripple at $1.2 and its almost $2 now.
So yeah, that happens in trading.

What about your current investments, you have not listed the ones you have invested in now.
I am also searching for some good options now after I've cleared my portfolio.

Even if you did sell early, I think that a $2 dollar increase is still good profit, also, you can't blame yourself for selling early since you actually won't know if it will gain more value or plunge. So, I think you did the right thing, it's just a lucky strike for those who have held onto their coins and have sold them for a higher and better value. I think you should continuously invest in Ripple because it would continue to gain value considering the recent news from its developers on their plans to boost the coin. LTC is another good option.
3209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best coin to buy? on: January 04, 2018, 09:10:03 AM
Right now, bitcoin seems to be booming and cashing out from it for an alt could be a hit or miss, while bitcoin could keep rising in price. I'd say that there's no such thing as "best coin", but really it's all just talk. People say that ICOs is where it's at, but while some seek quick profit there, this is also something seeming like a bubble and not too sustainable.

I agree. Bitcoin is still the king of all cryptocurrencies, therefore, it is still the best medium to trade and invest on. However, since it gained so much price and value during its previous price surge, any investor would have to shed out a bigger capital than before, but in terms of the viability of the investment, I would say that bitcoin would still be the safest to rely on. On the other hand, there are still some promising altcoins out there that could be considered like Eth, Waves, LTC, Ripples, and Dash. It's just up your liking where you would invest your money.
3210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: January 04, 2018, 08:55:20 AM
My biggest regret is when I got introduced to this back in 2012, I tried to buy £200 worth, the platform was down and I never bothered, just recently woke up to it again at over £4k per coin, it is a physiological thing where I don't want to buy at that price.
My most regrettable thing about Bitcoin is probably that I did not know Bitcoin any sooner and invested more in it. Besides, I regret that I sold a lot of BTC at a very cheap price, only one-twenty of the current price. So, now, I do not even have a BTC anymore, that really makes me regret

I agree with you mate. Me too! I regret that I didn't believe it earlier on, so that I could have reaped the benefit I am enjoying now. Many people, especially those who are the pioneers in the bitcoin market have really improved their lives in a staggering rate by way of earning substantial amount of money. Many have become millionaires, and sometimes, I think that if only I have started sooner, maybe I would have been one of them. However, since I am not the type to look at the past, I just have to be  thankful that I am in it now, and that I have the chance to take advantage of it to help me in many different ways.
3211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest now or wait? on: January 04, 2018, 08:41:31 AM
There will never be a perfect time to invest, more than likely, unless you're extremely lucky, you will buy and experience both dips and peaks. If you can afford to lose your money invest it, if you cant, don't.

At the moment prices will be lower than they have been due to people cashing in to pay for their Xmas shopping. I would expect that, and this is purely speculation, once the banks reopen, after the Xmas break, prices will probably bounce back up. But, that said, they will probably drop down again for new years/around new years due to people over spending when celebrating the date changing on the calender.

I agree. The cryptocurrency market is a market that would always have halts, pauses, surges, and everything in between. Therefore, it would actually be your call on whether you should invest or not because your goal in terms of profit and your future plans would only be dictated by you. It's just a matter of how much capital you want to shell out to be used for investment or trade in the cryptocurrency market. You just have to choose good coins to invest in to get some profit. Also, you have to check out the market trends that may affect your investments. Unfortunately, it's easier said than done, so good luck on investing!
3212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: January 03, 2018, 03:00:08 PM
The fact that bitcoin bubble and it will soon burst will say for a very long time. And yet he has not yet burst and is rather confident in himself, increasing his price. 2018 will be for bitcoin as good as 2017. By the end of 2018 I think that we will see the price of bitcoin 40-50 thousand dollars.

I believe Bitcoin will stay low for a while but for sure it will reach $40,000 - $50,000 this year (that would be 200% - 300% increase). Bitcoin price went up in 2017 for over 20x. There's going to be more and more capital flowing in.

Bitcoin has this trend of slowing down and then suddenly picking up the pace from time to time. So, it would be actually useless to worry about it because that's the trend bitcoin usually follows. Unfortunately, bitcoin commands so much attention and it control a big chunk of the cryptocurrency market that it negatively affects altcoins. In terms of value, I think there is a possibility for it to actually reach 40k-50k like the aforesaid reply stated; however, there should another surge to support that, but I am hoping it won't have so bad of an effect to altcoins.
3213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: January 03, 2018, 02:46:09 PM
Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.
safe or not it depends on the project developer or I can not figure it out, next bitcoin? no, I'm sure there are no coins that can rival or replace popularity as the first crypto currency.

I agree. It would depend on the ICO you're joining, if it has good plans to develop and a good amount allotted for its bounty, then I would say that it is a good to participate in it. It would also dictate how safe it will be since if the developers have a concrete plan for it, then it would amount to a safe investment. Actually, it would be better if you would try to find out background details that can help you determine if the project is legit and safe. You can also check the management of the project, because unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers all over the market that take advantage of ICO joiners. That is why many think that ICOs are scams.
3214  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some disadvantages of BTC? on: January 03, 2018, 02:30:46 PM
We all know the advantages of BTC, but what are some of the disadvantages??

Well one that i can think of is that it is still not perfectly anonymous. Personally i'd like to see bitcoin evolve into the future into something like XMR with essentially in built coin mixing. This is probably not necessary but rather an add on.

Another thing is that, fees are often high.

Also, blocks are 10 minutes on average in between so that means you're probably not going to be able to get stuff irl instantaneously without the merchant having to trust you.

One of its double-edged sword feature is its volatility, as far as it can be positive because it favors small-time holders to gain good profit because the price of bitcoins may increase at any time; however, it can also be a disadvantage because if it can cause an increase, it can surely cause a decrease as well. This is negative especially for those who hold on to their coins for the purpose of waiting for the value to come up, only to see that it will plunge and their prayer of a profit is gone with the wind. Another downside is the privacy and secrecy of it transactions, as much as it is helpful to keep-safe one's holdings, it can also be used illegally.
3215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short term investment on: January 03, 2018, 02:15:39 PM
Hi Guys,

Which share you think will be a good short term one, I am still doubting between Kucoin and Nvst.
Thx

It is a good thing that you did your own research, and you somehow have an idea on where you would want to invest. Those altcoins maybe promising, but I don't think they possess so much movement right now compared to other altcoins that may better suit your objective of investing short term. For example, LTC and Ripple are two coins that have been gaining so much attention around the market. Their developers have spread word that they are planning to pump and increase the market cap of those coins, which would amount to an increase in value in the coming months.
3216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading or working in signature campaigns? on: January 03, 2018, 02:00:07 PM
What do you think should be done? These days bitcoins are not given directly in campaign but tokens are given and very less campaign give bitcoins purely. What would you do?campaign or trading?

That all depends on which of the two you are more familiar with and felt more accustomed to. I have been doing some signature campaign since I got into the Junior Level on this forum and I have many things to thank for with this great forum as it has become a venue for me to learn more on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency while at the same earning some coins/tokens which can later on be converted to Bitcoin in exchanges. As for trading, I realized that I don't have the knock for it when I saw myself making many mistakes from time to time. I am not closing my door to cryptocurrency trading though because once it is mastered it has the potential to really create an avalanche of profits. Right now, I prefer to concentrate on what I am doing but will definitely expand my baskets too in the near future.

There are different advantages present in each means of earning tokens and ultimately coins. For trading, it is a more advanced way, plus you would need to have a lot of experience and knowledge with trading because you have to know many trends that would affect the value of the coins. For you to choose the better coins to trade and deal, then you must be able to have a knack on which you should hold or get rid off. Also, you need to pay for trading, thus, you have to have a capital and enough holdings to support your trades. On the other hand, signature campaigns are one part of an ICO project, a person may enroll and post depending on the rank of their respective accounts and post different information on the forum to market the product through the visibility of the companies signature.

It is not, per se, totally untraceable, there are different means to follow the transactions, but the difference compared to other money-related transactions is that it doesn't have a paper trail, therefore, it is way harder to track. However, if there is an imminent imposition of tax, it won't be placed on just random transactions. I think they would place it on "traceable" activities in the bitcoin market like exchanging it to money or using at as payment for goods and services. In that way, it would be easier to track because there would be a proof that there was an exchange in asset, goods or services.
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: January 03, 2018, 01:33:13 PM
Although it is expected that the total cost of XRP will increase, not all the months of 2018 will be the same.  Many enthusiasts in the world of crypto currency do not like the idea of cooperation with banks or any other financial institutions that regulate the market. In the long term, and as long as banks exist, XRP is likely to be a reliable investment, but in some months, its value may decline.

That's true. Even if there is an imminent and big increase waiting for Ripple in the first part of 2018. It is too far ahead to consider it the "currency of the future". For now, bitcoin still holds that title given that it has the better value and greater marketability and recognition from people. It would be difficult for any altcoin to come close or even surpass bitcoin because it has already endured a lot and has changed with the cryptocurrency market over the years that many other altcoins don't have. However, it's a good thing that many altcoins keep on gaining value, which would play well for the market.
3219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can maths help you win in gambling ? on: January 03, 2018, 01:15:04 PM
I do not think that using math or other predictions you can win in gambling, and especially in roulette. There everything is designed for pleasure, not profit.

That is right. Math can't help you, but it can assist you in some points. There are some branches of Mathematics that can help you with these type of activities. There are the probabilities and statistics. Probability is mostly used in gambling, the proof is the percentage of win you can see whenever you roll your dices in some gambling sites, everything has their percentage of winning in gambling but it is pretty small. IN terms of Statistics, I think when most people use that kind of trick or skill and won a lot, you will be doing the same thing, you will start to search or ask some people about gambling, gather some data that can help you win.

Maybe it can, depending on the type of gambling game you are doing. If you are doing a gambling game that deals with probabilities or the instances where something must come out like in card games, then Math could be useful. However, if you are doing games that are best left to luck and chance, then Math won't be useful at all because there is no formula to know how something would turn out when everything about is is purely random and uncertain.
3220  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang Sekreto sa Trading on: January 03, 2018, 01:00:50 PM
Hello, im not that really PRO when it comes to trading, pero I have learned a lot from my foreign mentors about some secrets in trading. Im not here to brag but the intention is to help our fellow man to understand more about it. Trading ay napakarisky po nito kung wala tayong masyadong alam at mauwi lang sa tengga ang mga coins na mabili natin. So far, Ive been using these methods and it works fine with me. Lalo na sa mga baguhan pa, hopefully makatulong. Smiley

Here are some secrets in trading that you might not know.

Ways to Earn good profit in Trading no. 1. (Y) (Y) (Y)

SPREAD METHOD (Short-Trade)

Ito ang isa sa pinaka-astig na moves ng mga pro at gusto ko. Taking advantage ng price spread ng isang coin.
-Ano nga ba ang Spread?. Spread ay ang difference ng Buying at Selling price ng isang coin.
ex. (sample lang po ito)

DEUR
----Buying price= 65 sats
----Selling price= 30 sats
from that we have 35 sats spread o difference, right?.. (Y)

-So, pano tayo kumita jan o magtake advantage?

NOTE: Mostly minute-trade po ito (Short-Trade).

This time, minus 1 sat tayo from the current Buying price nya. So, set tayo ng 64 sat from 65 sat current price. Got it? Smiley Ganun parin, tayo dapat magcocontrol sa price o palaging mauuna sa bidding.

Kung ma-fil-in sell orders natin. BOOM!!! Instant profit ka talaga.
Ganyan lang kasimple mga parts.. (Y)

So, tingnan natin calculation sa magiging profit mo. Example may 100K coins ka.

(64 sats) Sold Price - (31 sats) Bought Price X (100K) Amount of Coins = 3.3M sats PROFIT!!! (Y)

Pwede pa tayo kumita ng mas malaki pa jan:
1. Depende sa price Spread. The more malaki ang difference the more malaki rin ang profit.

1. Dapat active ang market. Meaning may Buy and Sell na nagaganap at that moment.
2. Mataas ang price spread na isang coin, enough for bidding war. Pero ingat dahil may mga coin na sobrang taas ng spread pero di active ang Market. Panay selling lang ang trend. (Y)

Stay tune. I will be posting it one by one. Any comments and tips will be more appreciated.

bakit sabi ng tropa ko pang mapera lang daw yan at mayaman, magkano ba dapat ang minimum na kaylangan ilabas mo jan, starting ba!!,kasi dami kong nababasa at naririnig about trading eh..pero risky din daw??

I think that is the misconception because of the idea that it's easier and more comfortable to trade when you have a lot of holdings and assets to trade for. If you have only a little amount, you would be too weary of your trade moves, that you would end up over analyzing each and every trade you do because of the idea that if you would lose in one trade, that would spell the your little tradeable asset would be gone, and you can't continue anymore.
