3481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CARTAXI is a SCAM. Please don't invest in it again. on: November 03, 2017, 08:02:05 AM
CARTAXI is a big scam project. They are claiming that they are operational in San Antonio,US and CHINA and RUSSIA. But its not true. They are only operational in just russia. They are scamming people by the wrong information. Earlier it seemed like a good project. But things revealed and nobody is interested in it. I invested a small amount in them in the presale just to see how things workbut I'm worried now.

Also they cheated their bounty participants. This is the worst cheat ever an ICO played on their workers. They showed big numbers in the title and not mentioned anything about changing the alloted tokens or if the 100% tokens sold.

It is cheating not revealing correct information in the beginning of the work. Please tell me how many of you work on a job which gives you less than 8% of what they said earlier?

But in CARTAXI case they just cheated them by showing big numbers. They didnt ask them to show big numbers. They might not join their campaigns if they show actual numbers and reveal correct information. This is the trick they played they know that people wont join if they tell actual information so they showed BIG numbers and attracted people.

Also they are banning people on telegram for asking about bounty. Please tell me if they are so much allergic to bounty why did they start bounty. They didnt ask them to. Its their need. Also they are warning people that they will not pay those shit amounts if they talk about bounty. I am on their telegram and they are responding rudely to their bounty participant. If they are so rude and banning people what is the future of the investors.

I did a mistake investing in them.

I heard that the project manager did something with the ether wallets of its campaigners. It's sad to heat about this. I think this is mainly the reason why many people think that ICOs are scams, and it actually damages the names of those ones that are legit.
3482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: November 03, 2017, 07:18:09 AM
Besides all other I consider that trading is a powerful source to generate bitcoin if done right but is very time consuming.

You have to be very active on exchanges and read the mostly every news for the coin you are trading and explore more and more way to earn bitcoins.

For other sources I think it doesn't worth trying because it's many times proved that gambling, cloud minings etc are not worth.

I agree. I think trading is the best source of earning bitcoins. Second, I think is campaigns, since many people are sourcing their coins from different ICOs. Although, profitability comes in for trading when you actually have a lot of coins to trade for and if, like what's mentioned in the reply, if you trade actively.

There are instances when moderators delete posts or threads altogether. It's not actually if the topic is non-sense or what not, sometimes it's about the topic being repetitively posted, thus, instead of having topics posted again and again, they delete some. However, I am not sure if they delete the older ones or the newer ones.
3484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How fork will affect current bitcoin price ! on: November 02, 2017, 02:57:22 PM
Now that bitcoin is hitting all time high's ! And it is predicted to reach $10000 USD as its potential. How do you think the upcoming fork will affect the continuous growth in bitcoin's price ?
We will see a massive slump.
Current demand is only due to hard fork. Over the past weeks billions of capital have been transferred from altcoins to Bitcoins. (https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/)
Main reasons for slump:
1. Capital will be transferred back to altcoin markets after fork (happened after every fork)
2. Investors cash out profits
3. No short-term demand, as rate reached all-time high and there are no forks or other big events in the near future

That is the same with most of the information I read. After the fork, bitcoin would experience a value decrease; however, there is conflicting opinion with how long it will last. Some say, based on previous trends that it would only last for a couple of months, some, on the other hand, say that it would last longer than expected. They also propose to see a great increase in value of altcoins.
3485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can ETH match the BTC? on: November 02, 2017, 02:36:46 PM
I'm in this crypto world about two months, I've been observing the power of ETH!

IMO it can't because of unlimited ETH supply. Though it's a great coin with great features the total cap is major price mover for BTC.

I agree with the reply, partly. I think even if the market is highly saturated with Eth, it's recognition, on the other hand, equals or I think is close to bitcoin. Therefore, if more and more people would use it for investment, then there would be a chance for it to have the same value or a little close. However, like how bitcoin progressed, it would maybe take longer for Eth to reach the same level.
3486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Is Really A Good Investment or Not? on: November 02, 2017, 01:36:13 PM
Hello, Friends...

I Recently listen about the ICO (Initial Coin Offerings)! But I'm confused, Is it a Right Investment or Not?

Anyone Suggests me!
Its not, someone just created a buzz word to smth similiar to another altcoin. Anyone can do that easily in matter of hours and people pour money onto it.
Its crazy, one reliable investment out there is Bitcoin.

It depends on the company or team that offers it. I have seen many opposing opinions with regards to investing in ICOs. I think some have valid points on not doing so due to the "scam" aspect of many ICOs around. However, there are still some that are legit and may give you a chance to earn altcoins probably to have a higher value after the business' full blast market opening.
3487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is driving BTC increase on: November 02, 2017, 01:14:10 PM
So I've been watching the market for a while and keenly watching for about 4 months, what is driving this massive price spike in your opinion? Are you expecting the price to drop dramatically soon? Then another rise? Or are you expecting it to continue this sharp rise for the next month or two?
I'm interested also in BCH too, same questions Smiley

If you did able to observe on past forks then you do already know the answer on this question. If theres a sudden price increase then expect for price corrections later on. Now on the current price the thing that do drives on it is which most people do switching to bitcoin now because of the upcoming segwit2x fork which people do accumulate bitcoin as much as they can to get free BTC 2x after the fork.Have you seen how altcoins being affect? Most of them are on reds now which would somehow justify that investors are converting now.

I think I agree with most replies here with regards to the demand aspect. Bitcoin's recognition around the world has been increasing where countries and companies are beginning to delve into the bitcoin market, thus, increasing its reach even further. In the recent days, the fork as well as mentioned on the above-mentioned reply, would be a factor too, since most people are buying coins for the upcoming fork.
3488  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: November 01, 2017, 02:59:43 PM
People should have guns for protection because there is no better way to defend your home or property in case of a robbery.

How is a little old lady going to defend herself against 2 or 3 intruders in the middle of the night?

The fact is, guns are not scary or bad. Slingshots, blow darts, knives, baseball bats and bow and arrows are equally as dangerous. In reality, there are evil people who wish to do innocent people harm, and you have to be ready to defend yourself against these attacks. Would you go into the wilderness without protection? If someone started beating you up would you defend yourself with your hands?

Likewise, self-defense is a right and I guarantee you if you are ever in a situation where you are getting robbed you will wish you had a gun.

People should use the guns only if they have any threats to their life; only for the purpose of self protection they should use the guns. Otherwise common people don't have any reason to keep the guns. Agreed with you, self defense is everyone's right and if someone wants to keep the gun then they should follow the government procedure to avail it and no one should keep the guns illegaly.

Gun ownership is a critical issue that is taken differently in every country and society alike. I think gun ownership is justified when you really need it for purpose of protection and safety, we have to understand that even if we would want to always see the best in people, there will always be some who would take advantage of you and may hurt you for their own advantage. On the one hand, having a gun can affect one's appraisal of power and authority, which can be a cause of misjudgment because they might feel superior from the fact that they have a gun on their belt. Ownership of firearms should be governed strictly to protect its owners and non-owners alike.
3489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your strategy for the upcoming fork in mid November? on: November 01, 2017, 02:43:35 PM
Excuse the thread if the question has already been asked. I'd like to read what some of the more seasoned BTC hodlers are doing for the mid November fork.

So far I've seen a confirmation from Coinbase that they will credit BTC holders with an equal amount on the new blockchain. I'm assuming that other exchanges will follow suit.

The question is, will you stack BTC up in preparation?

Yes, some exchanges will credit 2x to BTC holders. But my opinion is that it's always risky to put money on exchanges for a long period of time. They could be hacked or scam people and then disappear. It's safer to control your private keys on a light wallet like electrum.
Then, when the storm will be over, you can take all the time you want to claim your new 2x coin on a new wallet (like many of us did for BCH). When 2x will be listed on exchanges you may trade it for BTC or just keep it in your wallet and hold for the long term.

I think if you would have the chance to add more bitcoin in your account. That would be a good choice, since they will equal the value of your bitcoins with the new blockchain. However, if you are the type that would like to risk some for better and greater return, you can put some of your coins in buying altcoins since their values are plunging at the moment, which is the best time to buy and favorably have a return once they increase in value, probably after the fork.
3490  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: November 01, 2017, 02:22:14 PM
Bitcoin is promising currency, but somehow because of it's volatile value. How can bitcoin help the community? especially the 3rd world country.

Bitcoin can help the people in those countries especially the ones that do not have a stable job by giving them the chance and opportunity to earn for a living online. It can serve as an aid for unemployment and an alternative way of having a regular income just by staying at home.

Bitcoin can affect so many good changes in one's life. First off, financially, it is a good and legitimate way to earn money while doing a not-so-difficult job where you can enjoy doing it in the highest convenience possible. Also, it gives people more options to transact and deal using a currency that is available everywhere through the use of the internet without need of exchange or trade into the prevailing currency. It may also improve a country's economy, by way of boosting their market and trade movement.
3491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just jumped $200, and then dumped $100... on: October 31, 2017, 02:30:29 PM
... all in the space of a few seconds. Check the time-stamp.

Cool

Well that's part and parcel of bitcoin trading. Bitcoin marketers already know of this trend, and its seemingly insane volatile value that affects how much it's worth in a blink of an eye. Having said, people who is in the bitcoin market, especially for traders, to study the market as well as apply due consideration before investing or doing any trades.
3492  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is bitcoin a religion? on: October 31, 2017, 02:06:44 PM
Quote
7.25.3.6.5  (02-23-1999)
Religious Belief Defined

The term "religious" as used in IRC 501(c)(3) is not subject to precise definition. The leading interpretation of the term was made by the Supreme Court in United States v. Seeger, 380 U.S. 163 (1965), in which the Court interpreted the phrase "religious training and belief" as used in the Universal Military Training and Service Act, 50 U.S.C. section 456 (j), in determining an individual’s eligibility for exemption from military service on religious grounds. The Court formulated the following definition: "A sincere and meaningful belief which occupies in the life of its possessor a place parallel to that filled by the God of those admittedly qualifying for the exemption comes within the statutory definition."

The Court elaborated upon the Seeger definition in Welsh v. United States, 398 U.S. 33 (1970), stating that "f an individual deeply and sincerely holds beliefs that are purely ethical or moral in source and content but that nevertheless impose upon him a duty of conscience to refrain from participating in any war at any time, those beliefs certainly occupy in the life of that individual a place parallel to that filled by... God in the lives of traditionally religious persons." Thus, religious beliefs include many beliefs (for example, Taoism, Buddhism, and Secular Humanism) that do not posit the existence of a Supreme Being in the conventional sense.

I don't think so, laws, although are written exactly, can be interpreted in so many different ways, and the supreme court of each country being the primary tribunal to interpret a law ultimately. I think how they defined religion does not correlate with people who uses or supports bitcoins. It's not a matter of belief or morality why they do so follow the bitcoin market, but as a means to earn and to ultimately make a living. Therefore, it does not make it a religion, but more of a business or job.
3493  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: October 31, 2017, 01:19:13 PM
Getting a job is not possible for everyone, not everyone has family or [friends] to help them and sometimes they will make the bad situations even worse them. If you've ever really needed money and were very desperate, than you probably know that people would let you starve to death rather than give you $5.

It's weird how people won't toss out just a few dollars to help someone in need, yet they'll spend $10000 or more on their pet that has an average life span of under 5 years.

But then again, if you give the person in need money, they'll keep coming back for it. It's a real crap shoot

There can be no excuse for scamming, stealing and robbing, if you are poor and starve to death you are the only one to blame. Billions of people work hard, study, build plans for the future and tighten their belts during hard times, their situation is no different from those who choose the criminal life. If you will start whitewashing and glorifying stealing, you will end up with cleptocratic and corrupt society that only becomes poorer because economy just can't work in such environment.

It's weird how people won't toss out just a few dollars to help someone in need, yet they'll spend $10000 or more on their pet that has an average life span of under 5 years.

People don't feel and are not obligated to feel any empathy towards the strangers - everyone should be responsible for their own life and not look for a way to throw their burdens onto others. Pets on the other hand are chosen companions and they bring happiness to their owners, so it's natural that people can spend huge amounts of money on them.

There are so many reasons why people scam. It's a very long list, but I think one of the main reasons is greed. They want to earn money even in the expense of others. Unfortunately, those people who scam are those that are not even needy or in a bad state in their lives. It's just their manner, maybe they too can't stop the urge. But, the person being scammed is sometimes partly at fault, people should be more vigilant and be doubtful, especially if the offers are too good to be true.
3494  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Only Exclusive Items on: October 31, 2017, 11:44:55 AM
Does anyone know of retailers which sell goods/services for crypto only with no option of payment made in fiat?

Could this represent a good business model for a small store with an online only presence?

There must be some holding alts who are fustrated by the lack of options in terms items they can spend their coins on. While there are many options for bitcoin, for the most part alts are neglected and there isn't a huge market where they can be utilized without first having to convert to btc.

Could support for ripple, eth, bcc, doge, ltc, dash and other alts be a good foundation upon which to build a small business?

 Huh

As of now, I don't think there are retailers or marketers that sell good or services with cryptocurrencies as exclusive means of payment. I think that would not be a wise choice for them because money is still more main stream and is more widely used by people. For now, crypto-payment is only an additional option because even companies that use it are only in their testing or experimentation stages. On the topic if its a good business move to allow cryptos to be used as payment; I would say yes because it gives people more options and it opens revenue to other customers that are not local to where the physical shop is.
3495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell my airdropped tokens quickly or hold on to them? on: October 31, 2017, 11:13:30 AM
Hello,
Yesterday I saw some increase in my total estimated token value, and today it dropped significantly.
It appears that a lot of people are selling their airdropped tokens as soon as they get them.
I have not sold a single token from airdrops, and with the exception of some them, they seem to be mostly losing value in time.
Should I do the same or hodl hoping that some of them may increase in value, closing the gap I lose in the process?
Me i usually wait for the doubled price of the token i received from any bounty altcoin campaigns it doesnt hurt if you wait for a long or a months is it because youll only wait for it  to grow and do literally nothing until it grows. So keep it all and wait for the doubled value of the rates you received better take more bounty campaigns in the altcoin discussion if you want more income. It is so easy i know you know that i know you know how to post hahah

I would suggest that you hold on to them. Companies or business entities airdrop tokens to have it scattered and be known in the market. It's value, on the other hand, is not yet in its best potential, thus, it would be better to hold on to them until such time the tokens become more recognized and company where it came from would appraise their value in its real market price. Some people, as I have read, even hold on to those airdropped tokens for years, until such time that the business where it's related with blooms, and so, it's value would be exponentially higher.
3496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: October 30, 2017, 02:54:43 PM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
You can think again, Does bitcoin replaced by another cryptocurrency. Maybe you already know the answer.  One main reason bitcoin is a mother of another cryptocurrency it's difficult to replace it for now . but nothing is impossible.

I think there is always that possibility, but I agree with the reply that since bitcoin has established itself as the strongest and most valued cryptocurrency, then it would be very difficult to replace it. However, like market trends affect the value of altcoins and bitcoins alike, there can come a time when an altcoin would be able to reach the same value as bitcoins or even surpass it.

Indonesia’s central bank, has threatened action against bitcoin and say

I must emphasize that BI does not see bitcoin as an official payment tool in Indonesia so all people should know not to use Bitcoin as a means of payment. There is a risk.

Source of news https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-banned-payment-method-adopters-will-dealt-indonesian-central-bank/
all things are definitely risky but it should, I think Indonesia should have a foresight as well with this bitcoin. certainly should be able to follow the country that has legalized bitcoin and know the rules so as not to contain too much risk. so Indonesia is able to legalize bitcoin without thinking about the risks it carries.

First off, good article. I agree that there is definite risk in the bitcoin market, which is why, many governments and countries are very reluctant in including bitcoin in their market because of those risks. While other countries are pessimistic, others are optimistic as well and have already allowed bitcoins to penetrate their markets. I think it depends on the how a country views bitcoin usage and the advantages and disadvantages it can do to their own market systems.
3498  Local / India / Re: Bitcoins cannot be legal in India. on: October 30, 2017, 10:04:14 AM
Service like paypal is still illegal or unauthorised ,idk . So how do you expect btc to be legal in india. Basically its simple govt cannot earn from btc , govt is still only finding a way to how to earn from btc as they earn from corruption money  which is way too much and this is how India works. govt knows all the pros and cons of btc , and they cannot simply make it legal and earn from the fees of these exchanges. So all you guyz having dates for btc announcements from authorities and hoping to find an answer , dude its a very long run in India just within a month after taking btc into consideration it wont get legal. Paytm has got just permission to be a bank after years that too with the lowest limits .

I think it can be legal if the government would make legislation to govern it, at the same time, do some tax reforms to hold taxes over bitcoin use in transactions. That way, institutions would now safely add bitcoin as an option for transaction and payment, even banks would soon follow suit because they have a safeguard through the law.
3499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: October 29, 2017, 09:42:05 PM
I would like to know your opinion on what factors cause the value of Bitcoin to drop. A brief explanation helps.

The reason why bitcoin price drops is because some bitcoin investors are dumping because they are scared that bitcoin will continuously drop. It has a chain reaction because those people who holds a little amount of bitcoin panic too when bitcoin price drop.
3500  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: October 29, 2017, 08:03:49 PM
When is the best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)

The best time to buy bitcoin is when it is cheap and the best time to sell is when it is expensive. I really think that if you really trust bitcoin will grow more in the future, you should buy all the bitcoin that you can and hold it for a long time to earn more income.
