3421  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: November 13, 2017, 09:25:50 AM
Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink

That could be possible. However, cash is one of the most established means of transaction, purchase and trade, therefore, it would be quite impossible to have a cashless society because people is more comfortable with the fact of the having money. Although, having to think of it, I think that would be safer means to do business because there is no object to actually put one's life on the line; however, on the other hand, it would be more open to hacking and other means of online fraud.
3422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: November 13, 2017, 08:58:03 AM
Hi everyone, I've been around for a while now..
I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

Thanks!

Ethereum is a good altcoin to invest in. I mean many long-time and seasoned cryptocurrency users have already been preaching good things about ethereum, at one time, it was the second leading in terms of value amongst crypto, second only to bitcoin. Therefore, you can actually say that you can say that it's a good investment move.
3423  Other / Off-topic / Re: world without bitcoins......!!!1 on: November 13, 2017, 08:28:27 AM
In the rapid development progress of bitcoins, there has been countries where bitcoins are banned like China ,Bolivia ,Bangladesh and others.......... Since bitcoins are not in the hands of government , many countries have banned it and are in the phase on banning bitcoins............ So what should be done? What should be said to the governements?Huh?
I would like to set somet facts straight here. Because you don't really know what you are talking about:

1. In Bangladesh, Bolivia and Thailand bitcoin is really banned. Bangladesh is the worst place for BTC so far: because "anybody caught using Bitcoin could be jailed under the country's strict anti-money laundering laws"
I am not really familiar if they are really executing this law.

- Bitcoin is banned only if countries which are weak and insignificant from the global point of view economy or either afraid that their own national currency is too weak to compete with cryptocurrency (Bolivia, Bangladesh). Or they banned BTC based on totally idiotic claims and fake prejudice (Bangladesh). Some countries (Thailand) actually start to change their approach towards BTC - http://www.coindesk.com/bank-thailand-says-bitcoin-illegal-warns-use/

2. Bitcoin HAS NEVER been banned in China. This is a lie and total misconception. Chinese government financial institution can't use Bitcoin - that is all. Furthermore China is basically controlling bitcoin mining.

Great post. Thank you for the clarifications as well. I think bitcoin, at its state now, could be very hard to just kill off. Many people, countries and companies alike are beginning to see how it can help them personally or their businesses. It could be a negative move to shrug off something that can evidently do you alot of good. And, if and ever, in the scenario that it would totally be banned, then it would be negative because we would revert back to the usual currencies and transaction means we had before.
3424  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bakit Di Kayo Magtrading? on: November 13, 2017, 08:06:09 AM

I think it's not an easy venture to trade in the bitcoin market. You need to do alot of research, learn the ins and outs, and fail if necessary. I think the more experience you have in trading, the better outcome you would get. It's not for those who are not really risk takers, also in trading, you would need to have many coins to trade, because trading with little capital would be difficult, especially if the ventures you join are not successful.
3425  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: November 13, 2017, 07:50:27 AM
I only spread the word of bitcoin through family members. Because for me, its much better to explain to a someone close than a total stranger. Of course in the beginning you will received a lot of questions and even criticism. And I can even share them my personal wallet that I used to store my bitcoin so that they will understand why I love bitcoin as a way to earn and as a means of investment.

The best way to teach someone is by giving them examples, a good way to use especially if you are a teacher. I don't spread bitcoin to my friends, but if they ask me, I tell them basic things like it is a digital currency created by Satoshi Nakamoto, it is a good asset if you want to invest your money. Just by saying that they will be asking more and more questions but I point out these site because it gives a lot of info about bitcoin.

That's right. It would be better to show them how bitcoin became beneficial to you, for example by way of your earnings. I said that knowing that bitcoin could be quite doubtful or negative in the eyes of some people. Therefore, if you would just explain to them how it works, its concepts, and even if you would discuss how it would help them. Many would still be reluctant to listen even if that's the theme of your discussion.
3426  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: November 13, 2017, 07:28:46 AM
OP, your point might be right, but you have to remember that there are many people who don't like money, unless it fulfills a need/purpose. Many scientists, for example, would die for a successful experiment achieving something new for the world rather than having a million U.S. Dollars.

And also if your point happened, there will be scientists who will be fascinated (if not mad) about their robots that they won't let them breakdown.

I agree. It's not always about the money. I am not being a hypocrite and saying that it is not important, but some people work or do their craft because it's their passion or they find fulfillment in doing it, maybe they help people or they do something good for the world. I think even if many people would be in a situation that they have more than what they need, they would continue doing some of the things they love, and at the same time, get profit from doing it.
3427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin comeback? on: November 13, 2017, 06:16:52 AM
I think yes very soon, many peoples buy bitcoincash now but in next few days I expect to start buy bitcoin because fork is cancelled, many don't know that and buy bitcoincash, bitcoin is main currency people know that.

Lets just say that for the maintime people did some diversions of their investments, but later on they'll eventually realize that bitcoin will rise again. The come back is real after the drops which is succeeding, then its expected to rise back and will gain bigger values in sooner time.

I think it will. It's just market play. I was just thankful that the fork won't continue because that would affect the price of bitcoin greatly as  many seasoned bitcoin users and investors said. I think in a while, it would recuperate to its former price point.

3429  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: November 12, 2017, 12:10:38 PM
i had about $200 worth of bitcoin.
How can i earn more with that amount?
should I trading? or make an investment?
and please give me some trusted site to investing my wealth.

**i dont want to give a loan, or else.**

if you had some advice, feel free to tell me.
really apreciate it.
thank you.

I agree with the replies. Since the amount of you bitcoin is not that high, trading would be the better plan to increase your hokdings, after that, then you can venture in investing or you stock them up to have sold when the peice is higher
3430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2017, 11:47:01 AM
Some good reasons why you use bitcoin.

1. It is fast. Transactions are instantaneous and confirmation times are usually done withing 10 minutes.
2. It is cheap to transfer any amount of money anywhere. Fees are insignificant at this point.
3. Your bitcoin are your alone, they can't be blocked by bank, IRS or any institutions.
4. There are no charge backs.

Great points. I would like to add that it is convenient. You can transact anywhere anytime without the need to actually exchanging cash on the country where you want to use it.
For me kasi it is an advantage dahil may chance na para makapag invest sa bitcoin habang bumababa ang presyo nito.

I think it depends on what youre venturing in. If you want to pursue trading, then you could say that the decreasing price is a good chance to buy for future selling. On the on hand, if you are in the buy and sell path, then it's a good thing too since you can buy low and sell high.
3432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash - What is the future bitcoin on: November 11, 2017, 08:18:00 PM
Now that Segwit2x has been called off, and the developers have said Bitcoin Cash 'aligns with their views'.... and bitcoin.com has gone only to bitcoin cash - What is the future bitcoin ??

I am pleased that Segwit2x was called off, I felt this would cause a divide in the bitcoin community, however bitcoin cash is fast and cheap and people may start using Bitcoin cash over bitcoin.

Bitcoin has dropped ~10% in the last day, I feel this is good because it has settles down at the 6700 mark for correction, on the other hand, bitcoin cash has raised ~40% !!

I was all along saying to myself, if the price went in the $6k range, I would purchase a small amount more, however bitcoin cash is doing well, what should I do ?

I own bitcoin but none of bitcoin cash, are people here still buying bitcoin or is bitcoin cash the way forward ?

I think bitcoin would still be the main contender when it comes to cryptos. Although they have introduced so much more other coins and bitcoin equivalents, bitcoin have maintained its footing over the ways, which shows how good its foundation is in the cryptocurrency. Although many people are starting to explore out different coins, I think bitcoin would still remain in power, unless market trends would dictate otherwise.
3433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise up or fall down? on: November 11, 2017, 07:43:02 PM
No matter the China behaviour, Bitcoin will rise. China is the big player but still the influence isn't that big or at least not long term. So my opinion is that the Bitcoin price is on the recovery way and it will rise further in the future. 2000$ is not something that is going to happen, this fall prediction is exaggerated.

The price may be affected, but China, even if they ban on a temporary basis or worst permanent, is only one of the players in the market. There are so many more people that contribute in the rise of bitcoin in the global market system, therefore, once the market adjusts, the price of bitcoin, if it decreases, would soon be back.

I don't think it would be easy to tax bitcoin, since in the first place, it would be difficult to track transactions. Also, earning can show great variability, which means, it would be difficult to put a standard taxation value in what you get or earn. I think, if the government would put taxes, it will not be about income, but with more relevance on usage.
3435  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: November 11, 2017, 06:40:47 PM
In one of the topics I read "If bitcoin will reach $10.000, fiat currency has become worthless"
Do you agree with this statement?

No, because the appraisal for bitcoin is different from fiat currency. Also, fiat is still the most popular and widely used means of transacting. Compared to bitcoin, it is still the market standard used in any transaction, plus more people are still comfortable with using money to pay for anything. The global trading system also gives more premium to money than bitcoin.
3436  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Paano ka nagsimula sa Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2017, 04:45:57 PM
Hi!

I was referred to by a friend. I actually encountered bitcoin long before; however, my first idea was that it is a scam or scheme, like an internet hack. So, instead of diving it, I didn't give much care. However, just recently, the friend I was talking about who is also a workmate, explained to me what it really is and how it can do something good with my life, as a, some sort of a part-time job. So, I dove in this time, and hopefully, I could realize its potential too.
3437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping? on: November 11, 2017, 04:26:50 PM
When you buy something on eBay or Amazon, you pay the seller, he ships the product and upload a tracking number.
If you haven't received the item, you can call eBay or Amazon and, basically, what happens is that if they have a tracking number that shows that the item has been delivered, then it is ok, otherwise eBay or Amazon reverses the transaction and you get your money back.
Is that possible with bitcoin? What if I buy a boat online for 2 bitcoins and I never receive it? Is bitcoin able to solve this problem?

Thanks

I think right now only a few online shops or establishments, in general, accept bitcoin as payment for transactions. Although many companies have been using it as part of their capital investment, there are still many negative ideas about it that stop other companies from totally embracing it. For your "boat" questions, I think big transactions like that would take a long while to be accepted using bitcoin to pay for it because would still be the reliable means of payment for manufacturers or sellers.
3438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legitimate or illegal? on: November 11, 2017, 03:53:48 PM
Bitcoin is legitimately legal in fair use but when criminals are using it to transfer the money untraceable then that will fall into illegal. That is why some Countries are making strict regulations and laws for exchange operators as what happened today when you register through exchange sites, we cannot widthraw our money easily without giving them our full identity.

It is legitimate, however, it's legality is dependent on where you are standing geographically. Some countries have marked and branded it illegal due to different reasons, while others have accepted it and is promoting bitcoin use. However, for the most parts, especially for the people who have used it and have experienced how it can help improve the market, would say and defend that it is definitely legal and legitimate. Opposite from the many claims that it is vulnerable to risks, it's actually safe and safeguarded in many ways to keep others from hacking into. On the bad side, many people use it to gain leverage and take advantage of other people.
3439  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bakit and ibang tao scam ang tingin nila sa BITCOIN on: November 11, 2017, 03:37:43 PM

I agree. Many fake or negative news have been circulating the webs about bitcoins. Unfortunately, people who have little knowledge about it easily believe them, and thus, don't even give it a try. Also, many countries having conflicting opinions about it, some support it and some see it as a scam or a risk; that causes confusion with a lot of people. Always, it's easier to see the bad stuff than the good.
3440  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: November 11, 2017, 02:53:33 PM
I don't really have a strategy that I use. I just buy some Bitcoins every now and then when the price has gone down to hold for the long term. That's all I do at the moment. I am not even trading. It's purely holding what I do. I am so happy with my Bitcoin investment that I never look into any other investment. Bitcoin is more than enough for me as I believe in its full future potential.

I think, right now, the best strategy would be to buy low, sell high. You need to invest by way of buying bitcoins or altcoins and play the market by means of getting rid of them with a higher price value that when you have bought it. However, that strategy would be more applicable to those who have some coins to spare and can keep because newbie members would most likely won't have that much resources.
