361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin linked to the main owner? on: January 30, 2024, 02:51:32 PM
It's the public ledger, the investigation probably is keeping an eye on the movements of the bitcoins from a different wallet which would then make it difficult for the thief to do anything since their move is basically noted and observed, it just so happens that we need money to survive and Jimmy here is in a pinch on what to do with the money and where to get so he ends up having to use a part of that bitcoin, could've waited a little while and let the heat die down but no, greed got to him.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US gov’s planned $118M Bitcoin sale is ‘peanuts’ compared to GBTC on: January 26, 2024, 02:47:33 PM
I know he wants to sound quirky but that's the right thing for US to do, bitcoin and the US SEC don't see eye to eye yet even though they're doing this purchase right now. They're testing the waters for the nth time, give the US the time they need to ease in lol.
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has never pass ATH before halving but it has always dip don't panic. on: January 24, 2024, 11:17:57 AM
Oh, I'm not panicking. I wasn't expecting it to go wild as soon as the year began. I've been in crypto for quite some time already, I'm used to stuff like this. A calm mind is the key.
The current movement of bitcoin isn't that wild in my opinion, bitcoin went to much lower price than that in the past, the recent all-time high gap from the current price right now is so wide and didn't the drop last time when it reached that all-time high, the drop was much faster and more wild than many expected, I've seen some thinking that the drops were a way for the price to pump again but it didn't so yes, it's not that wild. And if you're not panicking then it shouldn't surprise you how "wild" the current price movement is right? But I guess, you can be chill and be surprised on the unexpected at the same time so carry on.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The topic of Bitcoin's Achievement is charming on: January 24, 2024, 10:11:28 AM
Looking at Bitcoin's past should be used to formulate news and analysis and not to predict the future, as Bitcoin will not rise by +5.575% again in the near term. Many things have changed since 2013, and Bitcoin has become more influential and well-known than the Silk Road. Dark activities have decreased, and its use in speculation and as a long-term investment has increased. Therefore, perhaps we will see stability starting in 2050, and then we will look to the past (2023) and say that Bitcoin has changed completely.
I want to disagree but this is totally true, past records isn't a good way to predict the future but my mind keeps telling me that bitcoin has a pattern and that it's not going to be deviating from that pattern and it just going to happen the same way again but at a much higher level. I disagree that the illegal stuff has gone down, maybe in bitcoin but there's definitely more people that's using crypto for really nefarious stuff. I don't think stability will ever be a thing for bitcoin though, I still believe it's going to be volatile as ever, that's one thing I believe will never change.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Is Punk!" - Long-form Interview with Finnish Pleb Rocker Rami Korhonen on: January 18, 2024, 03:39:52 PM
I have never head of Rami. I am not into punk rock, so it's not surprising, but I usually read and hear about famous people who have embraced BTC somewhere. Looking at his YouTube channel, view count, and subscriber count, it's fair to say that he isn't very popular.

Regarding the misinformation about Bitcoin of those in power, we can see that it's changing. They have tried laughing at it, calling it a fraud, and stopping it. We are now in a stage where they are slowly changing their stance and even embracing it, as we can see from the approved Bitcoin ETFs of lately.
This is probably the sign to check out punk rock, I recommend Dead Kennedys, Rage Against the Machine and Sex Pistols, no way you can go wrong with those, I'm not sure about RATM if they're punk though but they're pretty political in their lyricism so they count in my opinion. The reason that they're changing how they see bitcoin is because they don't know much about it yet and at that time there's not a lot of information and data that can help them decide whether bitcoin's for the good or the bad of the people, sure some of them have selfish interests but they're definitely trying to be least considerate even just a liittle.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's official Bitcoin ETF approved on: January 18, 2024, 01:04:08 PM
for those that are interested
coins locked to ETF's (at previous day to post)

ARK 21Shares (ARKB) : 6544btc
Bitwise (BITB) : 8309btc
BlackRock Inc (IBIT) : 25067.06btc
Fidelity Investments (FBTC) : 10,000btc
Franklin Templeton (EZBC) : 1160btc
Grayscale Investments ($GBTC) : 591,947btc
Hashdex (DEFI) : 400btc
Invesco Galaxy (BTCO) : 3200btc
Valkyrie (BRRR) : 1457btc
VanEck (HODL) : 2000btc
WisdomTree (BTCW) : 75btc

Wow, Blackrock's on the list? That's got to be the weirdest thing that I've ever seen, didn't they have a phobia of bitcoin? Didn't they famously said that bitcoin is a tool only useful for money laundering?  You really can't trust a businessman, not in your lifetime, they just really have a way with their words.
367  Economy / Services / Re: [HOLD] wild.io | The Ultimate WEB3 Casino Experience | Signature Campaign ~ Sr.+ on: January 04, 2024, 04:24:45 PM
Thank you for the opportunity, so nice to be working with you again after a long time. I guess I'll wear my signature for a while to show my gratitude.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: January 03, 2024, 04:47:51 PM
You can't really do that though because you're going to have a problem with your gambling if you force yourself to budget your time in gambling. Like all the others have already said, it's better if you're managing your money/bankroll when gambling rather than your time because time is intangible unlike money so you have a hard time trying to bend the rules when you're managing your money compared to your time plus you're spending less money if you're focused on bankroll management rather than time management.
I also think so. This is something that OP should focus on managing rather than time. In some cases, time may have a slight impact if you play for too long; it could affect your alertness and decision-making. However, a gambler's significant losses mostly come from the mismanagement of their money. In a moment of high spirits, they might gamble away all their money in one round, right?
So, whether you play a lot or a little doesn't influence the outcome much. Furthermore, emotional management alongside money management is also a crucial factor to consider and emphasize. Unstable emotions, easily swayed by winning or losing bets, can lead to decisions based on instinct and emotion rather than reason.
Emotional management a different ballpark, that's not something you can easily resolve when you're gambling because that's your entire personality that needs to be changed and not just something that can be turned on and off like a switch. Wouldn't agree that it's mismanagement of their bankroll, some players just suck at gambling especially in a skill-based one, that stings that you suck at that kind of games when you have a chance to win when you're good.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in "Enhanced RTP" in some slots? on: January 03, 2024, 10:52:42 AM
I do believe in them and I don't think that they matter whether we think they exist or not because the point of the enhanced RTP is to attract players to play more slots so they can make more money out of the gamblers, that's the point of the enhanced RTP or any kind of improvement in gambling, to make players spend more to get the bonuses and certain rewards for the day, there's a reason some give a daily free spins on their slots right? And we all know it's not out of the goodness of their hearts that they do it.
370  Economy / Gambling / Re: TrustDice's x5 wager requirement only applies to the 1st deposit on: January 03, 2024, 09:46:34 AM
Thanks for the clarification but I still miss to understand the reason of this singular requirement needed to withdraw : I could understand and agree with a 1x wager requisite with the AML explanation, but then am lost again when I read that any further deposit need no wager at all to be withdraw-able opening the field to a possibility of ML.
Definitely a big concern given that a possibility like that can happen more than ever given the fact that casinos can be used for that illegal scheme but I think that they have some cover against people that will plan to do this, they probably have some internal alarm that will notify someone if they're doing something suspicious when it comes to their deposits and withdrawals. Also, wouldn't this kind of system of making money launderers relax so they can do their thing without knowing that someone is watching their every move is a better way to fight them because they have no clue that someone's watching them.
371  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: January 03, 2024, 03:10:45 AM
Great initiative and hopefully you see people that have gambling problems flock your website to get your help or get help for someone, gambling problem and gambling addiction is often overlooked by some as not that bad kind of addiction but let me tell you that it's as bad as those other ones when it's ignored and not treated.
I mean. It is not a secret that the point of getting drinks to gamblers in the casino while they wager is to get rid of more of their inhibitions. It does not only works with money or gambling, it also works for people to better socialize and forget about their problems, that is the reason you can find shy people who act in a very different manner when they start to drink alcohol. It has happened to me personally.
I can attest to the inhibitions part, that's what one of my Science teacher told us back then about alcohol, that it relaxes or weakens our inhibitions and another thing that we should also remember is that alcohol doesn't change someone, it just releases the repressed personality that they've got behind their sober persona so if you have a loud personality but you're generally, you'll be a loud one when you're drunk and you're aware of it most of the time. Me supporting the claim with my experience isn't a thing that's going to make this the absolute truth though as there's no study presented and only personal account that's similar to what happened to you.
Anyways, back to gambling and money. If we depart from the fact gambling is supposed to be a recreational activity and one should never step into a casino with more money than one is willing to lose, then I do not see much problem when comes to drinking alcohol while gambling, provably the average gamblers would have lost the enterity of their budget regardless they were drinking or not. A different situation would be to step into a casino and drinki while one has access to credit cards, much cash or valuable objects, in the worst case scenario, one could wake up in the next morning with debt and without the valuables one had ar the previous night. There is where the actual danger or the combination of gambling and alcohol lies on.
The first one is what's likely to happen and it's a smart thing that an individual is like that but the second situation, it's a problem both for the casino and the individual, the reason for that is that a casino should be taking care of their players so they shouldn't allow them to get to the point of blacking out because of drunkenness and with the individual, you should've been street smart about the fact that someone's going to steal money from you if they can so it's your responsibility that you're not going to let your guard down and that you're safe with your gambling experience.
372  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: January 02, 2024, 06:17:44 PM
Perfect way to make a fresh start, I guess  Grin

Ratimov's reputation already being soiled, a start over is the only likely option. He will just create a new profile, hunt for merits like he did before. The good thing is that he already has some good experience. A few thousands of merits shouldn't be hard in some months, and just try to stay out of radar.

With the kind of ego he had. I don't think he is gone for now.
I don't know about him being able to do the same thing because I'm sure that people will notice, that kind of posting style wouldn't be unnoticeable right? The way he starts paragraphs and the frequency of his post right. That seems to be the sentiment of everyone about Ratimov abandoning the account, kind of like a spit in everyone's face here that he can forsake that account no matter how much reputation it has on it in terms of merits. Definitely not gone for good but it's not really a good thing for us to speculate that and continue to be haunted by him, doing that creates a feeling that he's living rent free in our heads.
373  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Phishing Tornado Cash Website on: January 02, 2024, 03:46:06 PM
This is just going to be difficult for everyone now, with no base for which mixer you can trust to use, it's going to be a difficult and hard time for a lot of us to use mixers anymore, I feel bad about this kind of stuff but this has to happen or this forum will be infested by narcs trying to catch a case.

There is a high possibility that there are malicious intentions behind their replies, such as attempting to socially engineer people into thinking certain things. I have found possible connections and similarities to this case, which indicate a high likelihood of bad intentions behind his activities.
That's a flimsy way to use social engineering, you don't use social engineering to make them think certain things, you use that to get something out of them, you know like asking a simple question of when's your day off or when's the busiest time of the day for your work. It's more of a inquiry rather than implanting them with thoughts maybe you're talking about psy ops or something like that, I might be wrong on that part though but hey I want to learn something everyday.
374  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [exit scam waiting to happen] [banned mixer] self-vouching | Type 1 Flag on: January 02, 2024, 02:59:34 PM
I contacted GazetaBitcoin once they offered me to wear their signature.  It felt as if they are incompetent and inappropriate for this job.  Their spelling was bad.  It seemed as if they are in a rush for theft.

I will support the flag.
Definitely rushing as Bitcointalk is nearing the deadline for mixers to be advertised here so they want to make that lasting impression kind of thing so they're the last one we will remember when we feel like we need to use a mixer service. I guess they got caught red-handed by @LoyceV. Hopefully this stuff not being advertised here won't start a chain reaction that's going to make scammers use the fact that mixers aren't allowed here to scam people of their bitcoins, I have the same fear/concern as @dkbit98.
375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 02, 2024, 02:14:09 PM
You want about 8 times the amount in about 12 months and without risk or loss of part of the amount. Getting such a guaranteed investment is too good to be true, so beware of anyone who may offer you an investment opportunity like this.
If you invest in Bitcoin, it will be possible to get X3 or X4 profits during the next 18 months, but more than that is a little difficult.
And you forgot the part that OP is likely a newbie so what OP is asking is definitely one where he/she is looking for the perfect advise and I don't think that there's ever something like that to ever happen, unless OP invests in a lot of new crypto that's got the potential to grow exponentially then OP might get that goal but that's difficult because altcoin market is full of shitcoins. Maybe if OP considers trading or using copytrading then he/she will likely will reach that goal in that timespan.
376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: January 01, 2024, 01:46:26 PM
Stubbornness in trading often has negative results. The trader’s insistence on following the same strategy and insisting on his mistake will have bad consequences. Therefore, it is better to stop at a certain point and re-evaluate the situation rather than persist in making mistakes.
Totally agree, learned that lesson a long time ago and I'm grateful that I have learned it early on. Stubbornness will only lead to you missing out on the opportunities to get the profits when a certain crypto passes a really good price maybe even with bitcoin it's bad to just hodl and not take any profit. Never hold on to the bag for too long especially if it's not bitcoin, you might never see another price peak on that crypto again so you've lost your chances.
This happened to me more than one coin that I saw falling, but I was determined to hold it because I thought it would rise again, but unfortunately it continued to fall and I continued to lose. If I had stopped at a certain point, I would have avoided many losses.
Same thing happened to me but thankfully I was able to sell it because it got a second wind of some sort. I guess we have to learn about this stuff the hard way along the way.
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make money on cryptocurrencies without investment? on: January 01, 2024, 12:09:17 PM
Dude, you've got a phone or a computer right? There's tons of online jobs out there that you can probably do at the comfort of your own home so I don't think that you're going to have an excuse to not have any means of work, sure I might sound arrogant and a bit asshole in that advice but think about it, you've got the access to the Internet already so it's up to you to utilize that access and then you can be an active participant here in the forum and grow your account and get a good reputation so you can join signature campaigns and then you will be able to fund your investment slowly with those signature campaign payments.
378  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many traders will lose soon a lot the ftx 2.0 is ready on: January 01, 2024, 09:28:25 AM
Don't tease us as to who's the next scam exchange, tell us so we have to know. You're only making it weird for everyone and yourself that you're doing this mystery evil corporation thingies, if you really wanted people to save themselves from all of this crazy happenings then shouldn't you be telling it to us already?
A lot of people lost money in the FTX collapse, and I'm pretty sure that even if they relaunch their platform, there won't be a lot of people who would entrust them with their funds, I also believe that a cryptocurrency trader or holder should never keep their funds in an exchange but they should keep them in a non-custodial wallet.
I don't think that relaunch is even a good idea for them because they're definitely going to be criticized and a lot of people are going to be skeptical of how they do things when it comes to being an exchange. No one's going to trust a thief the second time because no matter how much we say they've changed, there's still that feeling that they're going to do it again which is the most logical thing to do in the case of relaunch of FTX, don't use it anymore or it's now your fault when they inevitably scammed people again.
379  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AI x Crypto on: January 01, 2024, 06:38:59 AM
Almost everything that you listed already existed in one form or another. A trading bot is probably the most popular one. You can find less sophisticated ones that are free and adjustable. I'm referring to open-source bots like Zenbot and so on.

As for tokenization backed by AI, I can only imagine that it will be similar to existing tokenized assets. Hard to verify and likely volatile, with a price that is easy to manipulate especially if the AI-backed assets are just vaporware. Your democratization is also unnecessary since you don't need AI to make easy-to-access investments, just a little bit of goodwill will do.
I'm more excited with the advancements in trading bots as AI gets more progressively smarter and more efficient and human with how they make trading decisions, you'll be stupid to not use them for your trading because even if there's a saturation of AI in trading, the market is still moving independently from those trading bots and no way it can be influenced by trading bots, maybe we will see more winners at trades and the quality of life improves because less time spent mulling over patterns when the AI does the trade for you.

Not a fan of tokenization, definitely a breeding ground for scammers trying to make a quick buck out of the AI trend, that's what I'm seeing in that tokenization potential of AI.
380  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BItcoin Rank - Check Your Bitcoin Rank ! on: January 01, 2024, 05:45:01 AM
That's an interesting app/site. Let's just hope it wasn't set up as a honeypot by some government agency.  Wink
However, it's probably better for everyone to use the site only through a VPN or Tor network, just in case.
Knowing how the CIA, NSA and all the other 3 letter agencies all over the world work, I don't think that it's a far-fetched idea that this website is really a honeypot by the government to do some watchlist on a lot of bitcoin addresses and it's actually a likely thing that they can do because it's easier for them to filter out who's got some suspicious activity if they log their addresses there. I don't think VPN or Tor will be of help in this one.
