361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: July 31, 2014, 01:23:24 PM
Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that I should have a timeline for PoS from Blocktech sometime today. I will post once I get it.

-BK

GOOD STUFF!!

I've been kinda less involved with Naut lately.. whilst waiting for something to move. Finally it looks like this might be soon... no roadmap or announcement yet.. BUT
an announcement about a later announcement about a roadmap... or something = typical crypto.. but you learn to love it.

(I'm not trolling, i'm just having a little fun)

But seriously.. I think it's great that something will be happening shortly.

It looks to me like it's gone all quiet on the western front. Does anyone know what is going on?
I don't normally come here and demand answers to anything.. as i try to always keep up with this thread.. BUT
I have no idea what is going on anymore.
Here is where I am up to -

Digibyte devs not developing PoS - now being handled by another dev.. who was named in the thread and even posted here i believe.
(I'm not trawling back to find the name)

Is this where we are at?

Meanwhile, interest and volume as well as price is dwindling downwards.

Roadmap anyone?

I came to the 7777 party and I predict 8888$ before 8888th page. Smiley

Last 3 days I wrote many times on 7777 page and everytime someone deleted ton of posts, and we back to below 7777.

just like the market, eh?

Don't know their intentions, no one knows. But it might be a scenario as real as unintended stupidity.

Looking at their ,,Use of revenue'' sheet it looks like 12y. old made..

1 page plan when you raise $4.8M. Am I stupid or people investing there are blind?

All though i was never interested in it.  I would guess that ethereum will be endless project.... Rock type startup it will wallow.

and every new thing those programmers ends up adding, while not making key steps to test the concept, will make it even more Clumsy.

P.s. They would really need a financial advisory.... but it wont help them.

I read through some of their Disclaimer.. apparently they don't promise anything! - They state that some of the announcements might never get done and you may lose your money. Which means.. IF they NEVER do anything at all.. they can just point to these clauses and say.. we were up front about it all along.. I'll pass thanks.

Fuck this I am off to self harm again.

Don't do it! do those 5g of dried mushrooms you mentioned earlier instead Cheesy

what happens when you click trust button(i know how ignore works)but i'm yet hesitant to click on trust button(says all about btt lol)

This is for rating trades between members. A bit like on e-bay.. if it was a successful trade and the other party did what was agreed, you fill in the details about the trade and give them +1 trust.
368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2014, 07:57:21 AM
Nice!!!!!!!

We moved up $3.00!!!!

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

what do I know just my pessimistic view over getting beat up on bitcoin by the above family/friends/co-workers etc that I tried to tell about it
last fall.....the consensus in my small world/group has not changed..in fact it seems more hostile...again if I'm right they all missed the boat

Searing

..Had a conversation last weekend with an otherwise very intelligent guy. He also thinks bitcoin is a ponzi and a scam..
We talked about the concept on money and ponzi's.. i didn't convince him of anything.. nor did he convince me of anything.. (his arguments were nothing i haven't heard before anyway)
At least he had heard of it and some opinions on it.. even if i thought they were wrong.

I don't waste time on people like this.. it's not my job to change their minds.. but maybe like you, we can revisit the topic in another 1/2 year.. and might have a different conversation.
369  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 21, 2014, 02:46:56 PM
Lol at the comedy algorithm.
Well going back on top a bit, for these that do agree with that Microsoft chart and are making analogy to it saying we are about 5 years in on that graph... but really, how do you know? Like  the blockchain is compromised and everyone abandons BTC, or it gets superseded by a superior coin with better anonymous features... stuff like that. How are you guys so sure and calm sleeping millions of dollars (for these that do have a lot of BTC, not me... I can wait) while these could happen?

I'll try to answer. The blockchain is pretty much unhackable. It's been tried many times and on more than a few occasions all sorts of bo0th white hat and black hat hackers have tried. Nobody has so far succeeded. If quantum computers become a reality.. which is looking ever further away - this MAY change.

2nd. Because bitcoin is 'programmable' it can adopt a new feature if the Devs write it into the code.. and people adopt the new wallet.
Oh, and something called network effect.

Meanwhile in spain: Unemployed, barely can pay bills, my pet is sick to boot. On top of that: I learned about Bitcoin back in 2009 but didn't invest because it was always linked to criminal activity so didn't look into it, as a result, I see it on mainstream news 4 years later about how it went to 700 dollar a coin. Thank you Bitcoin for making me suicidal for life.

Yep -  i found out about Bitcoin a few years back too..(not sure exactly when) guess what?  i didn't invest either, as i thought it wouldn't last.. was only €4 at the time..
Then it was only associated with Silk Road.. I didn't invest then either.. too dodgy, and I assumed the powers that be would eventually shut it down and my investment would be worth nothing.
(I was both right and very wrong!)

But, I did buy some.. and kept buying what i could afford (to lose) which was sensible.. but i wish i invested every penny i could afford period.
If only i could have seen the future then.

It doesn't matter really. I have some now.. I can't see the future from here.. but i can guess better now with hindsight. (hint: i will be awesome, and probably well beyond expectation)

Buy what you can afford.. as much as you can.. weekly, monthly.. whatever.. keep it safe and hold on.
This is 1000% times better than saving..
This is future saving on steroids.
Do it!

Thanks. Only a few pages in but very vague so far.

EDIT: The exemptions are clearing a few things up, seen nothing defining miners yet but 200.3 c 2 clears things up for users and merchants:

(c) Exemption from licensing requirements. The following Persons are exempt from the licensing requirements otherwise applicable under this Part:
...
(2) merchants and consumers that utilize Virtual Currency solely for the purchase or sale of goods or services

"Records of Virtual Currency transactions. Each Licensee shall maintain the following information
for all transactions involving the payment, receipt, exchange or conversion, purchase, sale, transfer, or
transmission of Virtual Currency: the identity and physical addresses of the parties involved, the amount or
value of the transaction, including in what denomination purchased, sold, or transferred, the method of payment,
the date(s) on which the transaction was initiated and completed, and a description of the transactios"

Dark Wallet is going to become popular.

Yeah but.. most proper exchanges do this anyway.

Proposed rules from Mr Lawsky have just been released:

Quote
DFS is today issuing a proposed comprehensive regulatory framework for virtual currencies. #bitcoin. Here it is: http://www.dfs.ny.gov/about/press2014/pr1407171-vc.pdf

https://twitter.com/BenLawsky/status/489771992849985536

Meh.. it's all Legaleese.. which i don't do a very good job of reading!

So.. is it Bullish or not??

I skim read it..  literally skimmed over most of it.. seems like the current laws of KYC and anti laundering just applied to bitcoin and put into a document..  probably looks a lot like banking regulations.
Nothing earth shatteringly new in it, just an enshrining of already familiar practices into a regulatory framework document.

I can't see any red-herrings or red flags jumping out at me.. am i missing something?

Overall, as expected... regulations for exchanges and bitcoin orientated financial services..standard and expected..  I'd take this as bullish, as bitcoin is now official. Coupled with CA's stance on it too.. coast to coast america has endorsed bitcoin. Now it's up to the rest of your states to copy them, get a uniform playing field across America.. and get some decent exchanges set up.
Wall St. ... are you ready???

CCMF!

Maybe I'm going to look back in one year from now (or even 6 months)

Cool chart bro. Hope i can accumulate as much as possible before take off.. considering giving up beer for a while (I said CONSIDERING!!! ..and anyway.. i don't think it will be that long now)
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2014, 12:34:17 PM
It's nice to see that in between the dumping the price still slightly goes up. It's just nowhere near enough. There is still some buying pressure. But how how much longer...these dumps just seem to go on and on.

Well, the support seems at least pretty strong. People do seem willing to buy. It's amazing, we may be at a deep valley where everybody would have liked to have bought their stash, if we look back in a year... Or maybe only a couple of months!!!

Funny.. I woke up this morning and had the same feeling. Actually, I was thinking to myself.. it's been hovering around here for a while.. maybe ~ $600 is the new floor.. the new ~$100 where it was last year. Maybe I'm going to look back in one year from now (or even 6 months) and think, why oh why didn't i stock up then.. so i bought what i could today.. waiting for next paycheck at end of the month and buying more. I hope the price doesn't go up too much in the meantime.

Ok - not here to flame or fud - rather i just want to ask a question.

I've been out last night.. and I missed the google hangout. Did it go ahead? Were the answers satisfactory? What was the overall sentiment afterwards?
I know some of you will be unhappy no matter what was said.
I'm looking for some balanced views.. no screaming or fud!

Would be great if one of you could give me a quick update.

Oh and.. any word on when MP are going to reintroduce the VRC market or is that a dead dog?

No - that's a slander from someone. Yes.
