361  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PAUSED] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC on: November 11, 2014, 04:49:39 AM
I think I will wait for your full image tonight I keep messing up the manual compile somehow.
This looks great by the way I cannot wait to try it.
You rock dude.

Just over 20 straight hours on my RPi with a 3 board prisma. No hiccups.

362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 11, 2014, 04:33:32 AM
Does anyone have a direct link to the S4 complete image??
My SD card corrupted and I need to reimage one fast.
Thanks
363  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PAUSED] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC on: November 11, 2014, 02:48:58 AM
Thanks.
I will follow them.

Where do we DL your fork of Minera?

https://github.com/crazybitcoinguy/minera

Follow the Manual installation instructions for now. I'm also going to create a compact image and upload for my group buy participants later tonight.

Where do we DL your fork of Minera?

So on Minera pool HR much lower 2/3 then device hashrate could this be from using wifi also 8% rejected due to duplicates  Shocked Shocked

No, it's just the way pool hasrate was being calculated. I put a fix out on github last night. cd to /var/www/minera and run the following commands to update:

git fetch --all
git reset --hard origin/master

edit:
/var/www/minera not /var/www
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 10, 2014, 02:16:46 AM
I would love one of those as well.
I have a feeling my garage and basement would not sound like an active aircraft hangar. LOL

I have a question. would it be possible to put say 3xSP31 inside of one of these:

http://www.acoustiproducts.com/en/ucoustic_active.asp

I would have the ducting setup aswell so that i can vent the hot air out of the building, i am also in a cold climate. I am sure that there must be many people here intrested in making it easier living with these machines. Grin

Yes, this has been done with 2-3 spondoolies

Thankyou  Smiley

I want the 24U one but its so heavy Sad No way I can move that thing.

Are you going to have a DL for your image?

USB-UART adapters are in! The adapter and two variants of an imaged RPI are now selectable add-ons during purchase.

I went to the site and did not see an sd card.

I have the rpi you sold to me a month ago so I only need an sd card. and an usb adapter. If I order one . let me know if I can buy just the sd card with software.

Sent you a PM. I didn't order a bunch of extra SD cards to resell but I'll get a small batch for those looking for just the image.

I use the EVGA Supernovas they work great and have a great warranty.
They take a beating and work awesome on 220v.

On monday I will be reciving my PRISMAS, I was wondering which PSU would be better to use with:

1. http://www.dc-shop.ro/surse/sursa-modulara-super-flower-golden-green-1300w-l/?utm_source=price-ro
2. http://www.shop4pc.ro/sursa-evga-supernova-g2-1300w-complet-modulara-80-plus-gold-active-pfc-120g21300xr-p-39667.html?utm_source=price-ro

I am going to use them with NiceHash, would it work fine with their controllers or do you suggest I should use a Raspberry PI?

368  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PAUSED] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC on: November 08, 2014, 06:54:42 AM
Great job again.
Now is this with your fork or the main fork of Minera and cgminer?

First 2.5 hrs mining mining on the pi and 2 prismas. No reboots and running solid. Total hashrate display in minera is inaccurate. Device hash rate below is accurate and matches what I'm seeing poolside. I'll have to look at the source this weekend and see what's going on.

One thing I did notice is that ASICMiner's build of cgminer does not handle the frequency parameter . When passing "--bet-clk 23", I received a ton of errors: "BET0: Unexpected value 00 received". Starting with no parameters fixed the issue

If you do want to I will take it.  I have been trying to get 5 of them for weeks now.

I need to get my hands on a few of the UART adaptors so I can try and figure out the issues.

Well maybe I send you mine...I have given up on it. I have a BE Controller on the way to get this thing up and running.
370  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PAUSED] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC on: November 07, 2014, 10:39:42 PM
Now that is great news!

Good job as always CG.

The adapters are scheduled to be delivered today.

Thanks for the update.  I am waiting excitedly for the USB adapters.
Remember to ping me when they get here.

@CrazyGuy Have you seen movement of the remaining batches and if so do you have an estimate on delivery?

Yes, they are in the US now. I had to spend some time on the phone yesterday convincing US customs that I wasn't importing time bombs. I will post a more detailed update this evening.
374  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara Physical Bitcoins/HAVEN: Update on: November 04, 2014, 08:20:33 PM
That is great news indeed!!
I look forward to it.
Make sure to ping me when you are ready to sell it.

Any plans for a 1BTC bar?

Your blog says no but maybe given the popularity of these you have considered it?

No tentative plans, as these pieces were designed to be art pieces first, cold storage second - but considering the number of requests I'm not prepared to rule it out entirely. Perhaps a small limited run? I will say I have plans to produce a 2015 coin first, and I'm excited to get started on it. It will be more complex than this one.
375  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [13000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: November 03, 2014, 07:31:51 AM
That is great to know.
Now to get more miners off Discus Fish and ghash to BTC Guild and other responsible pools like it.

A brief update on the weekend's events:  BTC Guild is not closing down in the near future.  BTC Guild is not being sold in the near future.  I am beginning to go over options with some colleagues in other countries and lawyers to consider moving BTC Guild to another country.  This may involve taking on a partner, but I would maintain the primary role in the management and operations of the pool itself.  More on this will be made available as it develops.

That process will be the answer to the concern over regulation.  The second part, the concern about the cost of a successful compromise of the pool, is something I am working on addressing.  I have already made some changes to the pool hot wallet to significantly decrease the amount of funds kept online.  It will mean failed withdrawals may happen more frequently (we haven't had that happen in many months), though it is preferable to have a few withdrawals delayed for 12-24 hours than have the site shut down due to a compromise.

I am also exploring ways that the pool could make a transition to coinbase payments to further reduce the amount of funds at risk at any given time.  This probably won't happen for a few months, if it happens at all.
376  Economy / Securities / Re: LIVE CHAT STARTING SOON! on: November 01, 2014, 10:37:23 PM
I am sorry I missed it today.  I am not doing very well and was stuck in bed heavily medicated all day.
Was it a productive one?

Live chat link:  Chat Completed.

Starting in 22 minutes!

EDIT:  Thanks to those who attended.  Always great getting to converse with fans every month.
377  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [13000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: November 01, 2014, 10:34:54 PM
I am working hard to make sure there is a sale and the pool stays open.
You have put together the best pool by far and if it closes it will be a blow to Bitcoin in a very negative way.
Thanks for you hard work and open behavior over the years.  We need more like you in mining.

Looks like the title changed again, did have [Closing] in it.

At least for now, the site will remain fully operational.  It will likely be sold and transferred to a new owner.  I will likely continue to be involved in some capacity after the acquisition.

If negotiations fall through, there will be a new closure notice which will reset the 3-months notice [the previous notice is void].
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: November 01, 2014, 11:15:57 AM
Who cares, why answer at all??

Q. How can you drop a raw egg onto a concrete floor without cracking it?
Q. How can you lift an elephant with one hand?
What should we do to a user who answers the previous question with two questions (instead of one, as the thread creator requested), threatens to vandalize a concrete floor by throwing an egg at it, and does not know that the appendage that an elephant uses to grab things is called a "trunk", not a "hand"?
How am I supposed to answer this with a question?  Huh (intended question)
Can't you ask "how am I supposed to answer this with a question?"?
379  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ANACS proof graded 1 oz Gold Titans - only 4 available. on: November 01, 2014, 08:24:15 AM
All of the Titan coins are amazing.  Congrats on the gold coin PF rating that is awesome and overdue.
Makes me want to sell some of my miners to get a platinum coin if you do a run. Fingers crossed I can save enough in time.  Smiley

If you're serious about wanting a platinum coin, I have a list of interested parties.  We're only going to produce enough of them to cover that list, and I don't intend to make them available publicly.

Is it possible to be added to that list of interested parties?

If the edition run is very limited, to say under 20 pieces, I may be interested.  I'd like to know also if this will be the same design as the other existing coins, and whether this would be a 1 ounce platinum coin.

It's going to be very limited, but I'm not sure exactly how many yet.  We have to wait on the sculpt to be completed before we can accurately estimate minting costs and that will determine that size of the run.  I'll add you to the list.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just paid the $100K USD via BTC to become a Platinum Member of TBF. on: October 31, 2014, 09:30:28 PM
Definitely some weird stuff happening there as well.
I wonder which direction it will take now.

I have a writer working on this right now on CryptoCoinsNews.com.
Rick has been doing some excellent work on digging up info on what KnC has been doing.

To date, nary a Bitcoin-theme periodical has penned an exposé exposing that KnC did not indeed pay TBF $100K USD via BTC for their Platinum Membership.

Likewise, nary a Bitcoin-theme periodical has penned an exposé exposing HashTrade for not REALLY paying BFL that infamous million dollars via BitPay for a shitload of Monarchs in October, 2013. Is it because HashTrade and its sister companies, LiquidBits, NimbusMining, and Nitsolus, all under the auspices of Coinware, are all controlled by none other than the Jacobson brothers, Jean-Marc and Remy, who in turn control respectively the Canadian and Miami Bitcoin Embassies?

What gives, you news guys?

~Bruno Kucinskas

I suppose it is just a rhetorical question, but anyway: the Bitcoin sites are supported by Bitcoin enterprises, not by individual miners, traders, and  investors.  Running an exposé on one company could result in a dozen others like them to take their ads and press releases elsewhere.

You don't expect to see articles in traditional media that say bad things about products that are (or may be) advertised there.   When that happens, the author or magazine may be tacitly blackmailing the company, "you give us {a free sample|your ads} or we will continue to badmouth you".

EDIT: Many years ago, famous science fiction author used to run a hardware/software review column in the Datamation magazine, where he almost boasted of doing that.  In one issue he would write "I tried the new IBM FooBar PC, it was junk".  In the next issue, "The folks from IBM gave me a Foobar PC as a free sample, and I found that it is actually wonderful."

Great, bud. And when he's done with that he can look into that $1M USD via BTC that HashTrade never paid to BFL via BitPal for Monarchs.

Meanwhile, looks like the pressure of this episode is taking its toll: http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/10/30/bitcoin-foundations-executive-director-jon-matonis-resigns/?_r=0

I, too, would distant myself if I smelt something coming from upwind (or is it downwind?).

Amazing how little ol' me got three honest nests all shoken up in just under 48 hours.
