361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer betting your own predictions or from prediction site on: March 10, 2024, 10:05:35 PM
Those who bet according to the predictions of those sites or platforms are the gamblers who are constantly looking for profits and have taken gambling as a mean way of generating income,  instead of just gambling for the fun of it,  like you said in the first paragraph of the thread that some have good games analysis skills and could forecast a game and it comes through as winning,  this set of people will always fines fulfilment in they gambling engagement.

And for sure,  what will be the fun in gambling if one has to depend on a third party to make the predictions or game selections for you,  gambling is for fun since no one can be certain to make the right prediction that will give the winning at the end and that is why there is need to gamble with what we can afford to lose and not take gambling as means to generate income.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have this practice of gambling during one's wake on: March 10, 2024, 09:20:01 PM

I often play games during the wake to keep up with friends and relatives of the bereaved this is to sympathize with the family, these are friendly games and the tong will help the family, it's been with this tradition ever since in our country, and I believe it will keep on as long as there are families who need to cover expenses of the family's who are left.

Talking about covering of expenses, is it that the wake keeps game or gambling is meant to raise money for the bereaved family to sort their bills or what is it for?

This kind of gambling is still new to me and what I know about wake keep and burial is that the family take care of the expenses and the running cost till the days of the burial are over and what support given by friends and well-wishers is not mandatory but an act of benevolence, solidarity and conscience.
The overall idea may not be far from that, raising money to support the bereaved family and that is why it close friends that come together to organise such games or events, this is some form of age-mate meeting and even without the games,  they will still supply the family of the bereaved in other ways.

In this part of the world, that kind of game is not popular but we still have some other activities that are done in the form of such games but not betting anyways,  in in form of friends coming together to raise funds to support the bereaved friend and family.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 10, 2024, 07:56:23 PM
Good list and I agree on the simple premise that when you are emotionally out of place or under pressure you are far less likely to perform a task well especially gambling where its easy to over cook things.   Far better to walk away and come back when calmer as hard that might be you stand a better chance in your win to loss ratio at that later point.  Not often will chasing a loss or in desperation recovering a losing set of games will it turn around, the upset will do more harm than you can restore imo.
That is the truth,  is very well in place to take a step back from gambling anytime one is emotionally unstable and this is far from being expert or skilled in gambling,  as long as you have the right frame of mind,  whatever decision you take at that point may leads to loses because you have an out of control tendency which may lead you to make decisions without proper check of the risk and what outcome awaits it may be,  take for an example when a gambler goes to get drunk go back to gambling in that drunk state and trying to recover from the loses he earlier incur.

At this stage, he will not be able to make the right decision on his game selections which will definitely affect the outcome of his bet.
364  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Use your opportunity wisely. on: March 09, 2024, 10:49:22 PM
My brother,  no too blame that your friend because you have even experienced how private sectors treat their employees,  you go pity them,  and at some level, you may even be tempted to quit the job just to save yourself that embarrassment from the job.

Just as you stated already the job was not paying well before and that is the reason you left,  but he remained on the job until he was promoted to a higher place which is normal and neutral,  but you did not ask what really leads to his quitting aside that you are told that he left because of the way the boss spoke to him, that may be just a layer of the real truth and only him in person can tell you the real truth of what happened while on that job.
365  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian Telcos Have Blocked Nigerians access to all crypto exchange websites on: March 09, 2024, 10:27:57 PM
Is this a DNS level ban? Because if so then it's really easy to get over it and most people experienced with crypto will to so very fast I assume. It's time to spread the word I guess. If s government's currency is so bad even the volatile crypto seems like a better option to the wider population for everyday use, then the government should focus on being less corrupt other than spending so manyman-hourss trying to ban websites.
I think at this point the ban is just a DNS level ban as only the exchange websites are banned,  but their apps are still working,  and also aside from binance whose p2p and other naira services have been affected,  other exchanges are still serving Nigerians at the moment and everything seems to be fine for now,  but we can tell what will happen in the coming week as the war against exchanges are being intensified so for sure we need to prepare for rainy days and entirely stay away from CEX for now for the safety of our investments.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 09:42:24 PM
Today indeed was a good day yo enjoy all the thrills in the premier league competition. Starting from Manchester United against Everton down to Arsenal against Brentford. There was intense defense and hood attacks in all the game which led to late equalising goals and winning goals. I almost taught it was over for Arsenal after Ramsdale messed up with the ball when he was suppose yo release the ball early. However, that didn't stop Arsenal from pushing harder they really showed they were a team who is  ready to win the EPL title. Tomorrow is another wonderful day to watch Liverpool against Manchester City and i will be available so that i wont miss all the actions.
Yes, tomorrow's match is another game we just can't afford to lose, (i.e Liverpool and Manchester City) because just as Arsenal have been able to prove itself worthy of the first place on the table today, tomorrow is yet another day to see who could prove itself worthy of the 2rd and 3rd on the league table.

However, the last match against Manchester United vs Everton was quite interesting, of which though Everton did played an awesome game, Manchester United was just only lucky to have won the game, which all started after the penalty kick, hence, Sean Dyche, now need to bring in players who would will be able to create opportunities and covert such opportunity into goal

Arsenal was able to seal their game today and which is a good point for them the achieve trying to sustain either their third position or possibly make it to second or even first as the case may be,  but then it all depends on what becomes the reality of tomorrow game between Manchester city and learn Liverpool which is a most anticipated game for this season.

From tomorrow we are going to know whether or not Manchester City could retain the title for this season,  or possibly lose it to Liverpool because this match is a strong factor that will point us to what to expect in the remaining season.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 09:06:08 PM
The thing about self-examination and restriction is that they save you a lot of stress and possible loss because sometimes you can be over-gambling and at the same time the ability to put a stop to it at some point,  what I do mostly and each week is to time myself to see how many times I have gamble beyond my limits.

And if I discover that I have gambled too much in a week,  I put effort into staying off gambling totally for a while and then resume back with a limit that is lower than what I used before.
368  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 09, 2024, 08:45:52 PM
It is best you gamble when necessary not because you want to chase your loss and win back you money, many are victim of this circumstances and for me is a bad practice and this might make you not to employe your gambling skills and roles because you inhast in your decision making. What is your opinion on this?
Well the case at most cases is that many of those who chase after a lose is as a result of some things like when they borrow money to gamble with or when they are already in high lose and wanting to recover from that,  and not being able to hold back and watch the loses slide away.

The best way to prevent such tension is to always keep in mind that gambling is a game of chances and while you are at that you should just take it as something to pass time and not make money from,  if you have such understanding,  it will be hard to see yourself taking a particular directions.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Restricted games on one casino but playable to other one on: March 09, 2024, 03:57:45 PM
The reason may not be far from countries' internal gambling regulations,  some times the regulations in various countries differ and at most it reflects how casinos allow access to those games based on their location.

But also note that if it be allowed in one country location and in the same casino it then means there is a low probability that you are breaking their rules and at that should be punished in the future.

But then also the best approach is to reach out to the support to hear what exactly the casino rules are towards such VPN usage.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: March 09, 2024, 03:33:33 PM
I think it an insane pattern of thinking to say that gambling will favour the gambler more than the casino,  just note that gambling should be taken as way to get entertained and anything other than that is a departure from the fundamentals of gambling,  because there is no way anyone can win over the house because at each stage you have to map out a lot of things such as your winning chances and how best you can make use of your luck to take advantage.

Before you gamble just be ready to lose all to the house,  and having such a mentality will help you not to gamble more than you can afford to lose and also not to class any direction be it losses or winnings,  just have a boundary to everything,  just trust your instincts and move.
371  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian Telcos Have Blocked Nigerians access to all crypto exchange websites on: March 08, 2024, 05:53:03 PM

This move has shown perfectly why CEX shouldn't be part of a decentralized world.

Also, I wonder how many will get in trouble when visiting their exchange with a different IP, this can turn into a wave of abuse from some, they will ask that you connect from the same location as your last deposit or you can kiss your money goodbye! I would get every single penny out of an exchange I can access only through a VPN and is blocked in my country, they could simply say that what you're doing is breaking the law as per their Toss and take everything you have, who are you going to complain to? Local police?
Yeah, this is a crazy situation but an absolute pointer to depart from overreliance on CEX,  but is sad the approach is harsh on the citizens who may lack the knowledge of decentralization.

Most crypto users in Nigeria are majorly traders,  who buy and sell coins,  the set of cryptocurrency users in Nigeria make up for the large total volume coming from the side, and only a few have the basic knowledge such as how best to secure your coins in a fully decentralized manner.

This is not the first time an ugly event and pronunciation like this will happened,  and each time the government got the approach wrong.
372  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian Telcos Have Blocked Nigerians access to all crypto exchange websites on: March 08, 2024, 03:52:00 PM
IMO, Government want to ban anything that has to do with crypto currencies, first of all the CBN lifted the banned from crypto currency and now they are manipulating the Bitcoiners in Nigeria, my question is what is the essence of lifting the ban on crypto currency the first place. However this tells me that they just wanted to use the opportunity to get the identities of Nigeria Bitcoiners in naija.
On this situation, there is no other way to use exchanges without making use of VPN, there is always another solution in anything concerning crypto currencies.
First the government have a game plan and that is why their lifted the ban on cryptocurrencies recently,  and if everything work out for the,  government may approve direct bank cryptocurrency transactions,  which in that way it will give the access to tax crypto users in Nigeria,  although this may work to so a certain level,  but won't solve the problem of revenue linkage in Nigeria.

The big question is, what are the ratio of control and accuracy in the decision to end Nigerians access to cryptocurrency exchanges,  because just like when the government ban twitter,  Nigerians we're still able to use the platform through other means like VPN or so.

This will not be different from that situation also,  and if care is not taken,  the outcome of this authocratic move will bring more negative impact on the currency and inflation in the country,  because many cryptocurrencies related businesses will relocate to other friendly environment.
373  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian Telcos Have Blocked Nigerians access to all crypto exchange websites on: March 08, 2024, 03:09:04 PM
Did you think before that only Binanace website was banned?

I have noticed that not only Binanace website you will not be able to access, you can not also access other sites like Bybit, OKX, HTX and others.

I have noticed this before 7th of March since many days ago after the Binance website was banned. Other exchange websites were also banned.
Charles you are right,  this blockage was part of the first order given by the government and it was immediately carried out, For like two weeks or a week now,  I have tried to use all the cryptocurrency exchange websites and none is working currently,  and I know it may remain so for as long as possible.

The government is taking every measure to climb down on in registered exchanges,  and the bad side is that the money the government places on exchange licenses is huge and almost impossible for individuals or institutions to meet up with anyways we always have our way around and we pray that all this end in our favour on the long run.
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: A whale took profits for the first time since 2010 sold 1000 Bitcoins on: March 07, 2024, 10:43:29 PM
First how and you know that the whale actually sold his Bitcoin,  just because by just saying that the Bitcoins were moved from the wallet to an exchange does not signify that he sold out already,  because he may have moved the coin there for any other possible reason that could have been the reason.

So for the above reason,  there is no way we can know what and how far a whale has gone with his bitcoin holding either he wants to hold them on the exchange instead of his personal wallet that has been left dormant since 2010 that was stated in the article posted.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are people still using bitcoin ATMs? on: March 07, 2024, 10:26:57 PM
Occasionally I hear about Bitcoin ATMs expanding to more and more places. So I would have to assume people use them. It sure seems like a pretty bad way to buy Bitcoin, considering the fees, but people must be using them since they keep growing their numbers.
In my region,  the growth of Bitcoin ATMs have not been visible recently unlike in the last one year when some citizens and members in this forum from my local board shared news about a new Bitcoin ATM in their locality,  but lately there have been a lot of financial crisis in the country economy where the government is closing down on all medium of exchanges within the economy so at the moment the development is kept on low key since the government come after any available bitcoin ATM in the nearest future
376  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 07, 2024, 09:03:04 PM
I am pretty confident that their signature campaign within this forum will definitely run for a long time thanks to their high budget, but I could be wrong since they could it shut it down quickly if they aren't getting the desired results.
They will analyze results they got and decide to continue it or stop it but surely as their campaign participant, I hope they will keep it running for a long time. Especially the bull market is a good time to do advertisement because people with profit from the market will need some places to spend money, for fun and for making fortune.

Probably. I hope they host more such competitions with minimal requirements within this forum in the future, but I feel like I am expecting too much.
With support and advice from their signature campaign's manager, I believe such idea will be brought to the MetaWin team for internal discussion. Again I really hope to see they will diversify their marketing includes more activities in Bitcointalk forum.
I have not visited this site so I can tell categorically how their services are but then this casino caught my attention since they launched the signature and a few members started advertising them,  but then also I agree with the fact rhat if the feature of the casino are user friendly and the act in accordance with acceptable ways of operation,  in no distance time they should be able to build the needed reputation and presence here in the forum.

But overall their have started we'll in terms of their marketing here but then also if time permit them and the have the necessary budget to support that effort for a long lasting time,  that way ther will generate alot of engagement and trafics,  one of the other suggestion is to run a review campaign because doing that will bring in real time players directly from the forum and also they will be mandated to give they first hand review about the casino which will help a lot in the future.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: March 07, 2024, 08:27:29 PM
Looks like the opportunity for Al Nassr winning domestic league tittle in this season have been over after defeating by Al Raed over 1-3 and make too large points left with top standings awhile Al Hilal. Last match, Cristiano Ronaldo can't help more give three points for Al Nassr and unbelievable with the bottom standings team Al Raed success get the victory although playing on Al Nassr's home.

Current 9 points remaining awhile with Al Hilal seems become 12 points left with consistency performance and easily for winning upcoming match against Al Riyadh, next match Al Hilal will face Al Riyadh and it is a great chance to make 12 point gap from Al Nassr and will celebrate early for the domestic league winning if can consistent taking three points every matches left, its large possibilities for Al Hilal winning domestic league on matchday 30 if Al Nassr not losses points any more and Al Hilal keep in the winning performance.

Tonight's game was a very sad outcome for AU Nassr who was very close to lifting this season's Saudi Arabia league after putting up some good performances and also having some of the best players on the team,  but seeing how the we're defeated with 3 goals to 1 against a club that is considering the status of the AI Raed who were not up to the standard of AI Nassrr but was able to win them with multiple goals.

The decline performance from the AI Nasser was not just in this match but also in the last few games their performance have declined significantly and to the point that smaller teams in the leagues are beginning to take advantage of the loss of consistency in the season.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 07, 2024, 08:05:28 PM

Even without a striker, Real Madrid has only loss one match in this league, they draw most often matches they are supposed to loss which is a good move to me, the teams that have all the best strikers are not even topping the table. If they win this league by this structure, I will give more accolades to Ancelottie for his style of managing this players but I believe that by next season, one of them between Rodrigo, Mbape(when he finally comes) and Bellingham will be turned to a full striker.
Really Real Madrid have struggled all through the season,  even when their don't concealed defeat their will mostly draw matches which is some what not too good and totally not bad,  but then Real Madrid can do more if their have best hand on ground and best their are making attempts to bring in new players in the next season when Mbape will come on board the teams.

I believe that Mbape will be perfect fit to replace the former players positions,  that have affected their performance in the last two seasons.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: March 07, 2024, 07:48:43 PM

Now mobile phones and internet are very accessible and every family now has more than one smartphone due to which children grow up with smartphones and internet from childhood. Since they already have an understanding of smart phones and the internet, it does not take them much time to understand gambling. Many people get involved in gambling between the ages of 13 and 15. If a person can become addicted to drugs at fifteen, it is not difficult to become addicted to gambling at the age of fifteen. At this age boys and girls must understand about gambling but it can be a problem for them financially because at this age there is usually no opportunity to earn money so they have to depend on the family for money. Children who gamble between the ages of 13 and 15 must take money from their family and gamble with that money.
The availability of all those things have harm the society alot and this could be said to be the hight of the disadvantages of the internet and smartphones,  it opens us as users to so many opportunities and freedom to have access to so many things without stepping out of our homes and that gives alot of privacy,  but this freedom have been negatively used and the impact on under age kids is growing at an alarming stage and if care is not taken this may consume the future.

This have not only impacted under age gambling alone,  but also even in the way kids behaves and tends to act in a indecent ways lately also speak volume to the negativity of this tool,  and this trigger the question in me,  whether if the parent's have failed in they responsibility or the government have not don enough in terms of cyber security.

Hi there, just wanted to give you an update about my refund request. After betnomi-User told here, that also people who missed the initial message have a chance to get a refund, I requested it via Mail. Until today I didn't get any answer or a refund. So please betnomi, if you read this, just send my BTC back as you promised.
Well you can send a reminder to the email again and the confusing thing is that, the team did not give any specific timing as when they will respond to such requests or if the will reply to your email also.

But regardless I advice you send a follow-up reminder and wait a bit and keep an eye on this thread to see if you could lay your hand on anything eventually from the team representatives here in the forum.
