881  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: January 07, 2024, 10:27:33 PM
Look around your immediate environment and fine a need that you can solve and get busy solving it and In the long run,  it will tell on your finances,  one of the best ways to earn money is to provide a services and most importantly give value to that service so that it could increase the demands.

Solving problems for others is what we mean by service try to monetise your time and get paid more frequently than you spend,  get an extra job if need be and practice contentment
882  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine African countries using Bitcoin to pay salaries, on: January 07, 2024, 10:17:25 PM
I don't know if the government of any African country have adopted the system of paying salaries in Bitcoin,

No African country has announced the full adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender aside the central Africa republic who is the only country in Africa that have adopted Bitcoin as an alternative and even at that,  they have not made it known whether or not Bitcoin is used as an official currency for workers salaries,  although we already are aware of the sceptical nature of many governments towards bitcoin and many of the countries have been on attacking mode and the majority give a red light to Bitcoin adoption.

So for that,  we are still far from achieving that state where an African country will adopt Bitcoin to pay salary,  and not even El Salvador who was the first country to adopt Bitcoin has not implemented that law in its system yet.
883  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: January 07, 2024, 09:58:01 PM
That shows that the business is booming and new developments are being accepted into the industry,  I always feel excited each time I see a new casino being launched and I don't find the increase in the demands and presence of online casinos as a threat to the safety of the overall community since to a great extend,  we haven't found any cause to regret that in any ways.

But regardless of the many known advantages of the competitive market for other online casinos to have new projects coming up daily and that will also lead to better customer treatment.
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alter Ego In Gambling on: January 07, 2024, 09:40:35 PM
If you have an alter ego in gambling that could only mean that you have no control over how you gamble, what you truly are should be an extension of how you gamble, I don't have an alter ego I am what you see in my true character in gambling, but sometimes there's a positive in having an alter ego like you have a reckless character in real life and yet when it comes to gambling you are so soft and you are very careful on how you bet but its seldom that way, all I know is if you're reckless in real person you tend to be like that in anything you do like on gambling.
Really does alter ego signify uncontrollability in gambling,  I thought in a different direction anyway,  because since the term represents a wrong identity in,  if related to gambling then we can say that a situation where a gambler acts in a way and behaves in another particular way.

E.g those who publicly speak against gambling in real life but gamble in online casinos without those around them knowing that they are truly involved in gambling at some point.

Many times we have the terms playing out in a lot of other ways aside from gambling and most times in real life we have several situations that prevent us from acting or seeing people acting that way.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: January 07, 2024, 09:29:34 PM
One who wins makes more and one who loses - loses more. I am not much into gambling but yeah I played some games I can say that I saw losses more than wins.
It has nothing to do with being poor or rich, it is all about luck (IMO). The profit of rich gamblers can be seen by the poor and they get attracted to it but no one cares about the poor's loss/profit.
Gambling is not of class unless if the class stand to motivate one another,  and just I earlier pointed out,  we have to be sure of what we are actually doing and not to leave everything to be controlled y our class or status.

However,  there is a big difference in the amount of winning of a poor gambler vs the rich gambler based on their available resource to bet with at some point and that is the only reason why the rich gambler stands to motivate the poor gambler more.

But the impact of both loss and winning is a direct proportion of what the gambler put into the game as a stake.
886  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: January 07, 2024, 08:35:35 PM

It's very simple, ordinary gamblers will know the limits they need to follow, they will not go beyond those limits and when the limits are reached, they will stop gambling because they know they have already exhausted either the time or the budget they had allocated for their gambling activities.

Addicted gamblers know no limit, they don't know when they need to stop gambling even if they have crossed their limits or everything, when they exhaust their current balance, they deposit more if they have, and if they don't have, they will try to get some money from here and there so that they can gamble with it.

So, I don't think there are any differences between the two that one shouldn't be able to differentiate between the two types of gamblers.
The thing with an addict is that,  they lack the basic functionality of control or knowing limits since what got them into addictions in the first place is the lack of that limited control and that is also what different an ordinary gambler from an addict, sometimes an addict will sell they properties and even homes just to gamble it away with the hope of recovery and even when they make good winning, there still will put everything into it and becoming sucked in it to the extent that they become uncontrollable.

But an ordinary gambler,  will already have a set part to follow and he have principles and guidelines that will help him along the way and also be able to keep him safe from the possibility of getting into such problems.
887  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 07, 2024, 08:26:23 PM

Haha, as much as I indeed understand the angle you both are coming from, I still will not support that gambling should be seen as an investment, why, because gambling is not an investment in the first place.
Seeing and talking gambling as an investment has its pros quite alright, but if you check it, the cons are much more than the pros.

Taking gambling as an investment could also be liken to taking gambling as a business the gambler is possibly expecting to profit consistently from, this could lead to alot of gambling problems like over gambling and addiction, over gambling means that, the gambler starts spending much time than necessary in gambling, which in turn can lead to addiction.

So, for me, I think it's better or best for us to always see, and take gambling for what it truly is, trying to see and take it as something it's not could be disastrous.
Yes in the general opinion,  gambling shouldn't be taken or seen as an investment,  but also if we can apply some investment mechanisms in gambling and also be able to effectively guide ourselves and our finances using such techniques this could be of a great help to us and sometimes all that we need is just an approach to follow and nothing more.

If you recall that in my last sentence on that comment,  you will read where I mentioned to always avoiding the practical perspective of taking gambling as an investment.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: January 07, 2024, 08:10:03 PM
OP, there is a different fun in losing at gambling. But this is not the case with all gambling, there are some online and offline gambling that even if you lose, it turns out to be a lot of fun things. My losing record in offline gambling is very low. When I lose a gambling game to my opponent, I start to feel restless as well as amused. Because having skilled opponents for gambling increases my pleasure in gambling. At that time, my interest in gambling increased many times. Again in many cases it can be seen that some online games also play gambling through games. There they have a lot of fun, and love to play the games even though they lose at gambling. To satisfy the mind, even if gambling loses, there is much joy there.
What game do you actually play in those physical casino that give you pleasure while you lose and that can be say to be some physically involving games such as football or horse races because those are the games that could give such pleasure for playing them, but we may still have some other games that could give that feelings also that may be out of my notice or records.

But the general notion about games is that,  the excitement come from the winning at all time and for sure majority of us will fine fun only when we win and not lose as you stated.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 07, 2024, 07:58:07 PM
Just an update on the whole thing. Never requested or demanded a bounty but I did expect a reply which never happened.

Are you sure it's a case closed already? BC is def one of the reputable casinos but I remember one of their most received criticism was that they need to up their support game so perhaps their reply may just take time. I saw you posted about sending a PM to their bitcointalk account, what about writing on their main website?
Really,  is the support that inactive?

Because at some point there is a lot at stake if casino support becomes inactive or not responsive to tickets and issues that are as serious as this being left unattended is a significant bad role of the support.

And if this bug report by ops is actually true and the support behaviour as this is also true it then means that BC games will be under a lot of losses without the knowledge.
890  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Hand work and skill or well paid government employee on: January 07, 2024, 04:39:21 PM
I been the think say las as you go relate this topic to cryptocurrency,  bitcoin or blockchain and its related developments as skills  this could have spiked up this discussion to meet current trends,  but nevertheless,  it is worth our discussion so let me drop my 2-cent on this matter.

Handwork is very necessary most especially when you are living in a country where the system does not work and is ruled by corruption and all manner of negative polity,  so having a government job in such a country is just like gambling you can lose it at any time and that the reason you have to work out modalities that will support you when that happens to the presence of comparison between government job vs skills,  is not anywhere comparable at all and for that skills should be a primary thing for all.

One of the popular skills to learn is to be able to be employable globally and work remotely,  and this requires contemporary skills.
891  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which Casino and Sportsbook have the best UI? Which others can improve? on: January 07, 2024, 04:29:02 PM
First, why do we need to change the pattern to fit into a competitor's way of operations and we have to take note of the fact that what casino A takes to be a good improvement to their system the casino B may see that as an unnecessary and won't want to implement same in the system.

And also when you talk of reputation and a casino with a good probably fair system ain't need to compete or copy anyone to meet up demands,  as long as they just offer gamblers the basic service.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on: January 07, 2024, 03:32:05 PM
Theoretically speaking if you could predict the algorithm in an online casino wouldn't you be able to predict the game and win a lot let's just say you had access to the algorithm and you were able to replicate it you would practically be able to win all the games
And what make you think it possible for you to get hold of the casino Algorithm,  it is clear that this is not gonna happen so let's not waste time discussing the possibilities,  and just as Royse777 already pointed out,  it is very difficult for such vulnerability to have a hold on the outcome of casino games since most games results are random and non-specifically following a pattern.

And also if you have such a back door bug to manipulate the game's systems,  the casino will know at once when the house edge is no longer effective due to the use of the lip hold to abuse the system.
893  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 07, 2024, 02:58:22 PM

Taking gambling as an investment may help you manage your losses and winnings. This will help you to plan on how much money to stake with. It will also help you to avoid spending unnecessarily when you win.
Really,  this is the first time I am reading something like this and at first, I was a bit amazed and wanted to get turned off but when I continued reading I saw that you have a very good point and all the while I have not thought of it that way,  because if you take gambling as an investment,  you will be concise in your dealings and spending at the same time,  some of the things that affect many gamblers is the inability to follow lay down the principle that can help them to save their money while gambling.

But if gambling is taken as an investment,  the player will be more proactive and deliberate in all that he does and as long as it making them profit it then ok.

But also fun gambling also is one thing we have to take into consideration since gambling is not a guaranteed source of income or investment.
894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Kickstart January in style on: January 06, 2024, 11:59:31 PM
In the last quarter of 2023, BTC enjoyed significant gains and analysts projected 2024 as another bull year due to ranging factors of which Bitcoin halving and approval of the Bitcoin spot ETF are most significant.

Blackrock announcement about the approval of the spot ETF over the weekend could be the catalyst that have triggered the market in the first day of year 2024 with BTC and global marketcap up by 6% respectively and currently trading above the $45k mark.

While many are anticipating bullrun to kickstart after the Bitcoin halving, I have a feeling there could be a twist to this year's bull run as it may not completely depend on the factors listed above. It's also important to note that the US interest rate is on a decline which is a good thing that could drive investors to opt for crypto. What do you think, let's discuss.

That feelings may have to wait for a while unless if the Bitcoin ETF happens sooner than expected,  then we can have a bll market before the bitcoin halven,  but anything outside that,  it won't fly at all so we shouldn't expect too much from the market before march-april which is already around the corner.

Many of the time,  we have expected Bitcoin all time high pre to halven,  which have happen before but on an accidental basis,  because since the first record of ATH before halven,  it haven occurs again and all other previous all-time highs have been after halves
895  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 06, 2024, 11:50:24 PM

that huge winning is also a very good promotional event for the sportsbet as it shows that they can very well afford to pay multi-million dollar winning without a hiccup. for sure, they will attract more high rollers on their platform. such event is a win-win for both the player as well as the casino itself.
Yeah for the casino this is a big marketing and promotion avenue for them because not all casino could take such a win and survive and also this is a test of what we can expect from the sportbet as a team and casino,  and this records will go a long way to speak about their positive results and pay out,  if it where some fake and unreputed casinos,  their will start coming up with all manners of demands that could possibly deny the gambler his winnings at the end or even subject him to some form of rule that could make things difficult for the winner.

But sportbet, on the other hand has been lucky enough to even be the one to create this thread to announce this jackpot winning.

So congratulations to both the winner and sportbet themselves,  this is a big record that they have set this time.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 06, 2024, 11:39:44 PM
I thought Girona wouldn't be able to maintain their title challenge until the end of the season. However their performance is still very solid which makes me think about whether they will prove me wrong about this. For example their effort against Atletico Madrid was just marvelous.  Smiley  They never gave up in the whole game and put a great ending to the game by a lovely winning goal.

They just might not be able to beat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu or not even get one point. Because much before Girona lost to them home by 3-0. I feel like Real Madrid would beat them once again. However the remaining games can still make this title competition very interesting.
From the few matches records,  the club seems to be alot on form in this season and they are not ready to let go of any chances to maintain the current position and status on the table for this season,  many of times fans have been panicking for Girona since their previous formation was nothing to rely upon,  but they have kept surprising everybody and till this very point, the club have been able to stay at a good position.

Even much more in a better position than expected and any have looked out to see when the club will lose that position for a possibly worse state,  but it seems Girona is not ready to let that happen and they are fighting by all means to keep securing their position all through time.

898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: January 06, 2024, 11:12:18 PM
So myself I have decided to launch a vehicle parts shops in my city by January 2024 and I have decided to use Bitcoin as one of the criteria of payment because of what I'm seeing for bitcoin increment and my country that permit for cryptocurrency transaction in my country, secondly I want to start having my own bitcoin with the payment of my vehicle parts, I don't know if mempool of bitcoin I have being hearing will still continue by next year 2024 because I sense that it's what will bridge people not to make a payment with bitcoin if i open by January 16th, because all the necessary arrangements has already put in place and  awaiting for January 16th to open officially.
I appreciate you for accepting bitcoin as payment in your business, I think for you to make this decision it means your business is doing well to relate it with bitcoin which is another form of investment.  The price of bitcoin is going high and we are heading into the bull market and it is not a bad idea to invest in bitcoin.

Mempool is just the challenge that investors are facing right now with bitcoin,  but I hope this challenge won't last long for investors to be able to make transaction freely without difficulties.
It's been a while since I checked the mempool to see what the level with the crisis in the network,  I have stopped to move coins around for now until this whole network thing settle down and normalizes again and I am worried for those businesses who just started accepting Bitcoin before this network crisis began.

I am curious to know if there are coping with the fees or they have suspended the Bitcoin payment method for now dye to the congestions.

Although we have to be settle between two things,  and that are,  either we accept for the customer to pay the fees or use another available payment method, I the company take it upon themselves to settle the fees,  I have seen companies such as stake.com paying for player extra charges aside from the one from the casino.
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Royal Shiba , Next meme king ! on: January 06, 2024, 11:02:30 PM

So for me, this Royal Shiba didn't pass me by. Based on the research I did and knowing it didn't get into the qualifications, I was looking for potential meme coins so, about what you are thinking that this will be your next meme king is only delusional. I'm not an expert, but sorry, This is quite high risk, actually.
Anyway good luck to you on that,  it best as you said that you have done a lot of research before picking these coins and also you have stipulated how much time you are going to spend holding this Shiba royal meme because when it comes to altcoins most especially meme coins,  it best you just have a short term speculation in mind and not to go overboard with the hype and that could be damaging for your portfolio if your expectation failed to happen.

But as a new coin that has already spent up to 4 months in the market I can say giving them a try won't be an entirely bad idea after all,  since all that concerns meme coins to me should just be taken as a gamble and nothing more to that.
900  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 06, 2024, 10:53:34 PM
Wait a little bit OP, are you doing this just to get your reward or you're being passionate about seeing a bug being reported, another thing I would have suggested is for you to go through their own announcement thread to make such a report there or directly to their representative, this is one of the advantage of having their announcement thread here for a discussion on their service, let's see maybe you could get some attention either, but I will employ that you remain less desperate about receiving a reward on it.
From the look of things,  the ops are up to a system that is not clearly open to the general public,  because to some extent it looks like ops have nothing to show for it and since the casino team themselves have paid no attention to the claim,  that leads us to more curiosity as of what we can't expect from the ops claims,  and judging from ops recent communication also I have lost trust in him and at some point,  I feel he is just trying to create a fud around.

So that we can't take him seriously on his claims of possible bugs in the BC games system and if he has anything he can come up with evidence as proof of his claim and then the whole community will clap for him for his noble act.
