361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 25, 2024, 02:16:51 PM
Naoya Inoue being one of the best fighters has really invigorated Japanese boxing which is having a great moment with multiple champions across several divisions. He is having a similar impact to what Pacquiao had on Filipino boxing. This card was a great showcase for these 3 Japanese fighters who defended or conquered championships in impressive fashion.

Jerwin Ancajas was once an exciting young champion with very high expectations but sadly he did not live up the hype and has had some disappointing results in recent years. He lost by knockout for the first time ever and it is looking like his days of being considered one of the top challengers may be over.

For Takouma Inoue, it would be great to see him unify against Nakatani. It’s the best fight that can be made in this division.

I really thought Ancajas had chance over Inoue because of his experience. But looking at the fight, seemed that Ancajas' camp didn't have a very good preparation for this match. I was also hoping that an upset could happen but to no avail. I don't know what's next for Ancajas but definitely, Inoue will have more opportunities on the table. He can be following the footsteps of popularity of his brother, Naoya. I am guessing the immediate family of these 2 Inoues are having their good moments in their country because they are both boxing superstars now.

You are not alone in thinking he could pull off a win against the Japanese, but it turned out he was not 100%, as he easily gassed out. The game plan wasn't working, and yet he wasn't making adjustments. It looks like he wanted to knock out Inoue, but unfortunately, his punches did not possess the power to make it happen. I'm not sure what's next for him, but hopefully, he will be given a chance again to redeem himself, and he still has the pride since he was a former champion, although not in this particular division.

Okay, then let's give him a chance, but things won't be easy for him anymore as his ranking will drop after that loss. If he wants another shot, he must be active and start winning. Who knows, if Takuma will not follow in the footsteps of his brother on moving up, they might meet again. But honestly, I'm not so optimistic about that, as opportunities don't come many times. Take Casimero, for example, he wasted his opportunity to stay a champ, and that resulted in him now being in a heavier division where not only is he not a champion, but he is still struggling to keep a good standing to be a mandatory challenger.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 25, 2024, 01:08:43 PM
Today, they'll be hosting the red hot Celtics who are currently on a 7 win streak. In their last 3 games, it was all Boston, so pretty much they were dominated based on the trend. can they make a big change today with a big win?

It was a tough game for them and they could not handle the Celtics this time cause Jaylen Brown was once again red-hot on the court and led the Boston Celtics in score which led them to victory last night. Nothing new for the Celtics since they are number one overall in the league, The Knicks are an easy opponent for them because they simply know how to counter their rotations and their defense is not effective against the Celtics this time. And they will be against the 76ers next time, let's see if they can win it easily as well because if that's the case, then they chance to get to the NBA finals this year is quite high.

The Celtics have everyone who can get red-hot any game. Although Tatum is their leader, he does not carry the big responsibility to score big every game. These players (Porzingis, White, and Holiday) can explode anytime, so this team is now more dangerous since they've made improvements to their defense. Seeing a healthy Porzingis makes me happy, as finally, he was able to find a team that sees his real value. I'm hoping he won't be traded and that he'll win a championship for the first time together with the old stars of this team.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 25, 2024, 12:22:54 PM
This looks like the same scenario as in the first game of Gilas. The score is 27-52, and that is just after the first half. This lead will likely increase more in the second half as Chinese Taipei is struggling to make a shot because of the great defense of Gilas. The ball movement is still present, almost a perfect execution every time, so there's really no one heavily carrying the ball as everyone is sharing it effectively.

Less dribble and more passing, that has been what is happening now, and I doubt that Chinese Taipei still has the capability to come back and make this a thrilling game. I would say advance congratulations to the Philippines already.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: February 24, 2024, 11:32:08 PM
Well, that's not my case, because playing poker is a side hustle for me, and the fun part is less and less as the years go by. It is entertaining, but it has become a routine for me. It also has to do, I guess, that I have been playing at the same level for a long time and I don't go for new challenges such as trying to climb levels or try new modalities.

In general, for the casino player, betting should be for fun and with money that he can absolutely afford to lose, but it is precisely the possibility of winning money that makes it fun.
Absolutely. It’s not fun anymore if you are losing your funds, so gamble to make some profits and when you have it, certainly fun follows. But that’s good only for professional gamblers as they can increase their chances of winning and reduce the risk to lose. However, for beginner gamblers, gamble just for fun so you can limit your losses and when you have gained various experiences in gambling, that’s the time to look for profits. Its never bad to gamble for profits as long as you set your limits in gambling, otherwise you will go home with an empty wallet.

I believe this idea gamble for fun is only good if you are not a frequent gambler. But if you are a regular gambler and you have been losing more than winning, I’m sure gambling for fun won’t work anymore as you are now gambling to recover your losses and attract more winnings.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: February 24, 2024, 10:59:38 PM
How can I choose the best betting site that provides me with a safe betting experience?
Does this site provide a high level of safety for its players?
I need help from those with experience in this field

Gambling platforms are subjective, not all of them can give you what you want, not even by what other people recommend until you test them out yourself but here is one thing you should do as a Bitcointalk member. Go to Gambling board, that's the main board before gambling board. You can see that we have a lot of gambling signatures in this forum, go through their official thread one after the other, you can be the judge from the number of people complaint, how often people get issues with their account and how fast and reliable they were able to come to people's aid, then you can make a pick from there.

I wouldn't recommend you what I have not try but Duelbit isn't bad, they have go good customer services and are very reliable and has been into business for 3 years that I know them, they are more than that in the game but that's when I know there services and I'm okay with some of their options and versatile with how to tweak your picksnin sports betting and also in casino.
Or you can ask directly the reputable gamblers here as I don’t think they’ll put you into casinos that have failed to offer them great services and experience. That’s why we have this forum so that this will serve as your outlet in connecting to other forum members.

However, exploring into the gambling boards is also a good idea. There are topics that talk about reputable casinos  and there are those who post complaints on certain casinos. At least you know those are based from their real experiences and not just fake ones that are only made up stories just for merit phishing.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Phase Or Are You Slowing Down Your Gambling Activity When.... on: February 24, 2024, 10:28:09 PM
I have high respect with religion so I make sure I have no gambling activities during that time. And I can’t say that I am slowing down since I’m not into gambling most often, I just gamble when I have this instinct of winning, but the rest of the days I just work on my trades as well as being active in the forum.

Majority of the religions see gambling as a bad habit. So regardless of what kind of religion we are in, it’s normal to see gamblers slowing down their activities to pay respect to their most valuable days in their religion.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: February 24, 2024, 09:56:34 PM
Yeah, women gamblers are increasing in number due to online casinos but I don't think they can even compete with the number of male gamblers. I don't think that even 1/4th of gamblers are women so I guess male gamblers will always be more in number because women aren't much interested in gambling as males and they really don't want to win and earn, they can easily take whatever they want by controlling their own husbands and boyfriends.
The high rate of women into gambling is actually not new to us since social media makes it highly possible to happen. The fact that you can sit on your own chair at the comfort of your home is already an advantage for women to explore gambling. But here is the fact, female gamblers are most likely gambling for fun and they prefer to play low-risk games so they can relax and unwind, unlike majority of men who are actually gambling to earn a living and mostly prefer to play high-risk games that promise massive amount of profits.

Now that women can easily play slots on their smart phones, it’s highly expected that their rate as female gamblers will get even higher. But it can never outnumbered the big population of men who are into gambling.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: February 24, 2024, 08:50:35 PM
The casino get the biggest money and enjoy the winning. Many gamblers will lose their money, especially if they can't control themselves in gambling. One by one, those gamblers will feel the lost and will become bigger if they can't realize. Yes, we agree the casino never loses. This matter need concern from many gamblers so they can change his minds not chasing the winning and just enjoy their free time to gambling.

Yes, we can win but if we can't hold ourselves by quitting gambling and just continue to gamble, sooner or later, we will lose all of the money. At that time, we will only regret it because of our greediness tempt us to chase the bigger winning. If you can't stop yourself after losing some money, you will be the next gamblers who lose all money in gambling.
Casinos are considered to be the most profitable business in the business industry. Certainly because they make sure that they always win by ensuring the odds of winning are always on their side. Even if gamblers win huge amount, casinos won’t easily go bankrupt because as long as there are losers, they can easily repay those who are winners. While gambling can make you an instant millionaire, the chance to lose is also higher that will make you homeless on the spot.

However, if you are gambling just to have fun and you’re gambling on your spare money, I don’t see it as a real loss. In fact, once you benefit and enjoy the games in the casinos, you are already in profits, even if your funds are slowly running out. Just don’t try to beat the casinos, as the house has always its winning edge over its players.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 24, 2024, 12:45:00 PM
Undercard has started, unfortunately, for Filipino boxing fans, Jonas Sultan lost via knockout to Riku Masuda in round 1.

Kosei Tanaka vs. Christian Bacasegua Rangel for the WBO super flyweight title next.

Nobody saw this coming, Jonas is a veteran in championship fights it is very unlikely that he'll lose to a guy who is not yet a veteran in the ring having four fights in his career, but this is boxing anything can happen, a kidney punch is harder to recover than a head or chin punch because you can hardly breathe and you cannot move your body straight, a perfectly landed kidney shot will get you immobile for a few seconds.
Sultan will have a hard time climbing to the top again with this loss, he is expected to win here I even consider this a cherry-picked fight for Sultan.

That's the kind of unpredictability in boxing; he was careless and got caught up with a solid body shot, and he's done. It's currently Inoue vs. Takuma now, but I could not find a good stream that doesn't have interruptions since, from time to time, it will be stopped, and I have to find a new one. So far, Ancajas is looking good, although they are still observing each other as they are not too aggressive, but maybe after 3 rounds, we will see a real fight.

Good luck, Jerwin Ancajas!

Ancajas doesn't have good timing, and he looks tired now. Inoue is very disciplined to still keep his game plan at work; the counter-punching is working well for him, and the fight has just ended. What happened was the most unexpected, and that is Inoue won via KO, that body shot though. I think Ancajas is done here; he is not the same anymore, even a boxer that doesn't have a high KO rate has knocked him out.

Sorry for the lost bets, guys. That's gambling; at least the fight wasn't boring because Ancajas was really attacking and would always want to go for a kill, but his timing is off, and he doesn't have the power to KO the champion.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 23, 2024, 11:59:52 PM
Through out last year I find it hard to get things done with funds despite how my earning was and I find it hard to spend more on my bills around me , though I have been seeing some humans earning and paying bills with one source of income and I do ask myself how is it done

please your advice will be of help
If their income is more than enough for them and they are living comfortably then there is nothing wrong with it.
You need to re-evaluate how much you earn and how much you need, some people could live with a single source of income if their salary is higher than the cost of living, but if you are earning a minimum wage then you need to look for other source of income or side hustle to maintain what you need and to have money to spoil yourself or family.
Know your cost of living. If you are living in luxury and yet you are only earning a minimal amount of income, hence adjust your lifestyle. If you can do that, you will not find any problem regarding having a single source of income.

However, not all the time we can stick to our budgeting without breaking the barriers. We still need to find some means for a greener pasture. That’s the time to expose yourself into side jobs. Or find another job that is more stable and is offering higher compensation that will still fit within your skills.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What can I do to be successful in trading with my small capital on: February 23, 2024, 11:31:50 PM
do i need to an expert in trading before someone will be successful.
Honestly, yes. Trading is hard and risky, and any beginner trader will find it difficult to trade at a small capital and make it work. So you need to ask assistance from an expert trader so that you won’t end up losing your funds. But before you do it, educate yourself first all about trading and it’s risks and benefits. Learn all the basics and do not jump into trading unless if you’re knowledgeable enough.

Now, when it comes to skills development and enhancement, look for a reliable trader that will guide you all the way. But never expect that expert traders won’t lose, they are still susceptible to losses especially when the trading market is highly volatile and unpredictable.
372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spot Trading vs Futures Trading on: February 23, 2024, 10:48:48 PM
Whatever you choose in futures, the risk is higher than the spot. While in spot trading, you just have to set your order whether it's buying or selling order.
If they're filled, that's good but you have also to set yourself with stop loss and that's the same with futures because you're just trying to protect yourself from any further losses.
Don't get it wrong when you are in the spot trading, it's not a wallet that you should keep there but the actual purpose is to trade.

Trading futures have always been more risky than spot trading but it’s quite more advantageous than spot trading since you can gain higher leverage with lower transaction costs. However, if you are still new in the trading process, never jump into spot or futures trading. The risk is high when you don’t know and you don’t have the assurance of what you are doing. Just invest and hold first. And when you think you are ready to trade, go with spot trading first as the risk to lose is less if you are trading with potential coins.

Trading is not hard nor easy. But if you are more experienced and more inclined trading in the market, trading in profits whether it’s spot or in futures, will be quite easier to perform.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, for long time Holding on: February 23, 2024, 02:46:14 PM
OP there is nothing bad about holding bitcoin for a short and long term. It all depends on your investment plans and budget.  Shirt term holders are mostly traders who take advantage of the market situations on daily basis to trade and take profit. In some cases, they make good cash from their trading on daily basis and in some cases, they make loses that is how it is and as for long term holders, they also make big profit as long as they have a long term plans and also have good holding position in the market.

It is good to invest in a long term basis because that would not bother you irrespective of how the market condition is at that very moment. If you are holding for a long term, your investment is guaranteed because the price or amount at which you bought the bitcoin might do like 10x bigger than what you envisaged for. So therefore a long term investment plan is a good idea for anyone who plan holding bitcoin for the time being.
Investing in bitcoin for short term might be more risky as it is. Because of its high volatility, we can’t expect that it’s price will stay moving upward so most likely, if you want to invest in bitcoin for short term, make sure to buy bitcoin when the price is at its dip so you can gain decent amount of returns once you decide to sell. Unlike bitcoin as a long term investment, regardless if the price is high or low, it’s still a good buy because you won’t be selling your bitcoin immediately but hodling it about 5-10 years is good enough to reach exceptional amount of profits.

While investing in bitcoin may both profitable for short and long term, but it requires long term planning for you to make it work. Not only you must be financially prepared, but most importantly, one should also be emotionally prepared so that if ever your investment does not work based on plan, at least you wouldn’t be affected too much.
374  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 22, 2024, 11:57:33 PM
Being a graduate does not guarantee financial success and stability. However, once you’re a graduate, rest assured that you will receive bigger opportunities than those who did not managed to finish their studies. But, opportunities won’t make you rich because it’s all on the mindset and perspective of an individual that will make him rich. One can make a lot of money, if he really wants to make a lot of money. That alone can proves that if one exerts a lot of time and efforts to reach his goals, he will definitely achieve it. But if one tends to procrastinate things and create a lot of excuses, that means he’s no longer interested to become rich in the process. What you sow is what you reap.

375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you feel about high-profile traders making wrong calls ? on: February 22, 2024, 11:30:32 PM
I never pay any attention to any high profile trades. Remember Ackman who shorted that Herbalife because he assumed it was a scam. He had a huge short and went very public about it but the stock still kept going up and up. He had to cover at a loss if I recall correctly.

Most professionals keep their trades secret and never post it live. If you are good at your job you don’t have to post your trades online to get likes. Those types of people most of the time don’t know what they are doing.
Certainly. Those high-profile and successful traders have always want to trade privately and have no time to flex their gains and losses from trading, as the people around won’t change the situation either. Instead of letting other traders to get updates from their personal trades, they will just utilize that time maximizing their trading improvements. That’s how these high-profile traders would prefer to exist.

And take note, losing in trading is not only exclusive for beginner traders. All traders have their fair share of losses, but professionals have manage to keep it to theirselves and use it as a motivation to increase their knowledge and upgrade their skills and strategies.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 22, 2024, 11:00:02 PM
DCA most likely as there can be no other safest strategy aside from it. However, if you are a beginner in the market and have the huge funds readily available to invest for bitcoin, that would also mean big returns when bull run finally comes but I suggest invest only on the amount you are comfortable to lose. No matter how profitable bitcoin investment will be and history have proven it as well, but let’s not close the idea that everything could happen for bitcoin. It may repeat its history and there are chances that it may not as well. So invest at your own risk.

Now, considering altcoins before bull run is also a good idea. But always allocate higher funds for bitcoin than altcoins because altcoins are only good for short term investments while bitcoin is for long term goal. If you have altcoins, make sure to have the right timing to sell before its price reaches its dip.
377  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: February 19, 2024, 03:55:17 PM
Save money today so money would save you tomorrow.
If you talk about being thrifty, of course it is a sacred thing that every human being must do. Frugality is one method for success in life, wasteful is the source of trouble in the future, It is indeed a phenomenon that occurs in people's lives.

But if we talk about economics or saving and saving money, for me money cannot save us in the future, for example what happened to the people of Zimbabwe, Venezuela, money like rubbish there has no value, maybe saving and saving gold for me is a good opportunity to save us in the future, in my opinion gold is better than money in saving.
Saving money alone cannot save us from the future's uncertainty but saving and investing as well will secure us a brighter future. While investing in gold can bring us a fortune, then the more that we can achieve financial freedom through saving and accumulating bitcoin.

However, saving gold is always the traditional form of investment and will never be underrated. But since we are now in the world of technology and innovation, saving bitcoin could perfectly suit the demands of our future.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: February 19, 2024, 02:45:52 PM
We all know that gambling income is heavily taxed in most of the countries. This is because most of the countries have separate taxes for the gambling related income. I want to know which are the most gambling friendly countries which charge very less or nil income tax on gambling winnings ?
I think the Philippines is one of the most friendly countries for gamblers. However, they don't offer a lot of gambling casinos to their citizens but only for tourists. I believe POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) is still operating in the Philippines, and the country derives decent taxes from this operation. However, I didn't hear that they are taxing gamblers on their winnings. So, if your intention is to avoid or at least pay only minimal taxes, then maybe you can try to gamble in this country.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: February 19, 2024, 01:07:35 PM
The truth is I haven't had a chance for a continuous winning streak where you could say it does happen to a player. I can get like x500 but next to that will probably be a losing streak. There's just only one way to escape it and that is to cash it out. Enjoy the profits and go back another day, pray that the system resets and you can have the same result when you come back.

Everyone probably has experienced a losing streak and a winning streak; it's a cycle that we should accept. The problem with most of us is that we lack discipline; we tend to be more aggressive to recover our losses faster. However, because of that careless strategy, it turns out we are losing more and more. In terms of probability, we might face a 50/50 or 48/52 situation, but we are not using it well because, when we lose our discipline, we forget to follow proper bankroll management.

Have you ever experienced being up in a session but, once you face a losing streak and feel down, you become aggressive and double your bets, ending up losing everything? That's us being undisciplined, and it's something we have to learn from and strive not to do again.

Not good news for Gilas, who will be playing in the FIBA Asia qualifying without JMF. It was reported today that he will be sitting out, and they will use Japeth as their big man. It's indeed a different scenario without Fajardo playing, but let's trust them. The positive note is that Brownlee is back and can still lead the team.

Here's the news.  https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba/japeth-aguilar-gilas-call-up-fajardo-sits-out-hk-qualifier-a795-20240219

JAPETH Aguilar has been called up by Gilas Pilipinas in the first window of the Fiba Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers.

Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone said Aguilar will suit up for the games against Hong Kong on February 22 and Chinese Taipei on February 25 with June Mar Fajardo and AJ Edu out due to injuries.
