361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: September 06, 2023, 01:21:55 AM
Not really a waste of time to take care of any animal, it is a problem of why are you taking care of them. It is like if you take care of a cow or a pig, the purpose is to eat it, so not really good nor bad just an utilitarian purpose. A different thing is treating the animals to fight and the like, which in my book is pretty much a bad thing.
Not all animals that are kept and bred are only intended for consumption, such as cows and so on. However, there are animals that are kept as decorations like fish, whose selling value can even be up to hundreds of dollars or even more. And there are also animals that are deliberately kept as fighting animals, such as fighting cocks/Bangkok chickens, which are the same as ornamental animals that can provide a very high selling value of up to hundreds of dollars or even more if the chicken has succeeded in winning several cockfighting competitions. So as long as "cockfighting" continues to be preserved and has many fans, then the selling price of the chicken will also be higher. So keeping fighting cocks for people who understand and cultivate them is very promising.
Well, I agree with you though, but I must mention that all this animals you mentioned that are being kept for decoration for for fighting only have that liberty due to the country they are or live in, for a country like mine, every edible animal is meat, what ever type of fish or cock and what ever, they are all meat as long as they are edible, even rams that are sometimes engaged in a fight competition during festive periods in some part of the country, most especially in remote areas, still end up being killed and made meat for consumption at the end of the day, regardless of whether the ram was able to beat other rams or not.

Anyways, like I think I've stated on this thread before, the world consist of people with diverse believes and cultures, we see and believe in things differently, so its very understandable to know that some countries of the world do have such regards for animals believed to be good in fighting.

Chickens, roosters are an option of animals that are worthy to eat, of course, but I prefer to see things from the point of view that it is something a very voracious attraction of how they can make animals suffer, and it is Something that I can't agree with, because first it makes me feel sorry, and secondly, is there someone who likes to see that? I don't understand such morbidity, but each person in the world has very different tastes, so what I think is that Gauls should not be legal, because they are domestic or house animals to raise young or something like that, that is what I see, it's like putting cats to fight, dogs to fight to the death, and it's a very violent act, and it's very good for Making bets , but too cruel in my opinion.

It is really a sad truth because in our country, it is normal. I mean, there are huge arenas on this, and the bets are millions. Also,  there are farms on those fighting chickens to make them good at fighting. It is really normal here, but even I don't understand it, and I've only seen it, but most of the people are cheering when the fight is going on, and they are enjoying it. Even for myself, I can't even kill a chicken just to cook it because it is very violent to me.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 12:15:34 AM
Let's suppose you have a limited budget which can be used only for one of the alternatives below:

What is the best investment, in your opinion? To use this money to pay for your education, so you can conclude a superior course and achieve a higher degree, having access to a wide jobs' market, or to use that money to acquire an apartment, house or piece of land, so you can make a passive income from this?

It brings the following question up: what is more valued in life: to be or to have? Does it make someone fulfilled to have while not being or being without having anything?

This topic seems interesting because, again, we used to have education ever since that is where our mind was trained to go to school and do education. It is also highly debatable because, first, if you choose an apartment over education, there is a possibility that you will miss managing it because you don't have proper education, unless the choice is between continuing college or doing the real estate business. Though right now it is really practical to choose to own an apartment, we are not sure if this will be profitable for you because you are still not knowledgeable about it.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share Your Bitcoin Hack Stories: Help Us Educate and Protect! on: September 05, 2023, 04:23:36 PM
Lucky for me, I still haven't gotten hacked and gotten my Bitcoins since I am really careful and cautious about what I am downloading, and maybe I do have a little background on it and know the way around to keep me more safe. But I do have stories of my friends that got hacked, mostly because they opened something in an email or message that was suspicious, and that is where they noticed that their Bitcoin was now transferred to another wallet. They also trusted their friends because they were trying to invest in Bitcoin and wanted to have one wallet on it because they were also buying some altcoins. His friend stated that they got hacked, but it turned out it was his friend who transferred the assets when he tracked him.
364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My experience as a beginner trader on: September 05, 2023, 03:43:02 PM
There are no experience mate Grin you lose  as a beginner to become a stronger trader  Smiley so for everyone out there thinking of QUITTING QUITTING is not the option here just keep learning  till you  can say "Gone are those days " Grin
Trading is a long time journey but many few people can travel until reaching final destination which is making profits consistently. 90% of the traders lose mostly because emotions take control of them and they start to unfollow their plan and overtrade.

Emotions really are the biggest enemy in trading because you don't have patience, and mostly when there are trades that we thought were already a win situation but turned out not to be, we were not seeing the bigger picture. Also, when we are winning, we are always thinking of winning more, meaning we are now overtrading, and that is where the losing starts. That is why learning to control your emotions is a must while learning to trade.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: September 05, 2023, 01:06:26 PM
Since nobody can predict what will happen to the price of Bitcoin tomorrow, I also believe that it is okay to invest now. Some people may believe that the price of Bitcoin will eventually decline, but it may never reach someone desired level. As a result, it is best to preserve the existing price and subsequently resume price increases. The best way to reduce risk in a bitcoin investment is through DCA, which involves buying small amounts consistently. I'd like to say that buying bitcoin at a low price is always the best, but the question now is how we can get the chance to do so because that is always the ideal low target.

Everyone will share their views some will be in favor of Bull season whereas other will says against bitcoin but real knowledge is unknown yet because we are all humans and we cannot know about future. We can share only the benefits of bitcoin because convincing others are very difficult task so if someone wants bitcoin and believe on its success then he will not be effected by fake news.

Next year bitcoin will be pump and its holders will be able to take advantage because the lower price for months also occurred before but people with sharp mind did not loss hope as a consequence of which they become a constant participants of bitcoin now.

That is why when you can invest now, buy it because we don't know if Bitcoin is just going to rally up and you will be left behind. The strategy of others that are accumulating Bitcoin is the same as mine: as long as I have extra money, no matter what the price is, I always purchase it because I am accumulating Bitcoin, not because I could be left behind, but because if I wait a few days, the money intended for it will be used for something else. That is why I always purchase, no matter what.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: September 05, 2023, 12:02:46 PM
in terms of negotiation, men are much better at it, in presentations men are also more talented. but in sales it is women who are more attractive than men. So both are needed in their respective expertise. for example, men are for getting clients and potential business colleagues, while women are very suitable for attracting large-scale sales.
In both terms that you've mentioned, women can always take advantage of the situation. Honestly, I think that they're better especially if they're experienced and has got the looks. With men being attractive to women especially the beautiful ones, they're using and capitalizing that asset of theirs to start their own community and as well as repeat customers. Just for example, in social media, you see that young or adult attractive women are almost everywhere and that's why they've got an edge in whatever they'll do.

So sort of something marketing, it is like when you see a stand with a sexy girl beside it selling an alcoholic drink, you, as a man, will go there and try the sample and purchase it because you've been attracted, which is again a marketing move. But what I really noticed with women is that they are more organized. I mean they already planned out when they have businesses, they kind of want to plan out what needs to be done and keep track of things, which again, men also do, but it is something that a man needs to learn first and is not a natural asset in us.
367  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 05, 2023, 09:27:11 AM
I have bitcoin, some alts & a couple of real estate properties. I am not interested in diversifying into anything else. The majority of my net worth is in bitcoin & I intend to keep it that way. The current price will look like chumps change in a couple of years.

You might be getting a passive income now for sure, or is your real estate property still unoccupied? Also, I've just gotten curious about this: how about paying tax? Is it huge? You are paying yearly, right? And how about the maintenance? I just got curious about this, as I am really eyeing real estate because of the passive income from renting it, but again, I know investment in it is really huge, and I just want to hear some knowledge on this.
Most of us here are for sure just owning a bitcoin to prepare for halving next year, but I do want to diversify it if I do have extra, but right now, it's only a bitcoin that I've been preparing for. Also, just a reminder to everyone that it is really good to diversify our investments as long as we have extra money and if we can.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: September 05, 2023, 07:01:32 AM
It is also a marketing strategy on them because it will attract the gambler to bet more as he can pay it later. This is like those shopping platforms that let you pay later on so that you'll be tempted, which again will put the gambler in debt, and for sure the way they ask for payment on this is harsh, like threatening you, though on profit instances for sure the total money that they will lend to you is the total that they got to you, and the more you do it, the greater the amount.
And people fall for it every single time as they are too used to buy everything on credit these days, if you were to try to convince people decades ago about this they would look at you as if you were crazy, as the only products that were bought on credit were the things almost no one could afford outright, like a car.

However people have lost the fear they had to becoming indebted, and many businesses have taken advantage of this new trend to deceive them and get them heavily indebted.

I've just shaken my head and thought to the people all around me that they are really doing this right now. I mean, imean you are right, people are very scared before to take out a loan or be in debt because even if they can afford to pay it, they are always thinking of what if they can't pay. All the negative aspects they are thinking about are defensive, but right now almost all of my relatives have loans and they are paying them, and they are not scared to take more loans. Well, again, this is the new generation right now, and again, there is good and bad debt, which can affect you, but for sure, in gambling, it is bad debt.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: September 05, 2023, 04:48:29 AM
You don't need to eat at those expensive restaurants if you can eat it in a normal restaurant, because if you are just earning minimum wage, then you don't need to eat at those restaurants. Don't be fancy, and you are right, don't buy those nonsense items that you don't need. It is really about self-control because, as others have stated, if you can't afford it, don't push yourself to afford it at that time; instead, work hard so that you can afford it in the future. Right now, because of the high prices, people are sure getting a budget on everything.

Sure, you do not need those things, however, people are living not only needing lives. We have desires, ambitions, self esteem and endeavour for realisation. We have to earn our place in society. And that is why we are doing a lot of things. Yes, we could not do it, but then our lives would look dull, savourless and boring. A person should strive for something, desire something. Only then does he or she feel alive.

But in the meantime, you should be disciplined with your spending if you are just earning the minimum wage. Yes, all of us have desires and ambitions that we need to gradually achieve, but that doesn't mean that you should make an abrupt move because your life is boring. In the meantime, to achieve those dreams you want, you need to have discipline in life, not only in finances, because how would you be achieving your wants if you were already broke.
370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: September 05, 2023, 02:38:32 AM
Trading is only for everyone who has initiative to learn it, though there are sometime others begun to learn it but not taking seriously so in the end they stopped and not continuing because of having no willingness to do it. Just like the others thinking, trading is like a course where you need to spend time to learn it. In short, there is a process for this things, if anyone wants to earn the we must learn and for us to learn we should study it first.
You are right. Trading is only suitable for people who want to learn seriously. Trading is not easy as people think, it needs deep knowledge and skills in trading. We also must know well about trading types and the strategies, that will have a big role to determine the success of trading. And the last, we must have good mentality, must be patient. It is because trading won't always be easy, sometimes the market becomes difficult to predict. So, trading is quite complicated thing, won't fit for lazy people.

Don't forget the patience and perseverance because we know that learning trading will take time, which means you need to be learning it on a daily basis and in a stable way because if not, you'll lose your learning. That is why we need to persevere on doing it as we can't learn it just overnight, even though others are still learning it after a few years. Also, those who are trying to learn will be tested because you thought you would learn the basics, but it turns out you still haven't won because you still haven't established a strategy.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: September 05, 2023, 01:37:57 AM
Personal finance or financial literacy is a very rich field. Even if you read and improve yourself every day, there is still more to learn. With personal financial development, you can improve yourself not only financially but also in terms of general culture. It is a situation that gives vision to the individual.

That's precisely why we have to gain knowledge or try to catch up so that we don't fall further behind.
We must realize that technology and knowledge, if we cannot adapt to very fast developments, will leave us far behind and make it increasingly difficult for us to survive in life and so that this does not happen, we must at least have a good vision so that knowledge and technology at least can be balanced so that we can survive with the existing life.
Even though we know that it is very difficult to follow something like this, it will be better than not trying at all and giving up on the situation.

Adoption of technology is really needed right now. Just imagine that most of the job right now is about technology because, as you are right, it is difficult to not have technology right now. Also, most of the jobs hiring right now are in technology, which again gives you a huge salary that can buy our needs and keep us financially free. Also, we can use technology to manage our finances, which is why we should always take advantage of it.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give Him a loan Or Partner With Him on: September 05, 2023, 12:31:53 AM
First of all, it is your friend. Try to explain to him what is happening and why the risk of doing it is so huge. Try to persuade him not to do it because it can make his situation worse. Now for sure, he will still not be listening to you, so if ever you do have extra money, I will let him borrow it, but with less value, and let him know that his strategy is not working now so he can experience it and possibly make his eyes wide open.
373  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 04, 2023, 04:15:40 PM
As someone who is involved in the world of agriculture because several of my family are farmers, I admit that every year farmers complain more and more about crop yields and selling prices that are no longer balanced. I mean the selling price of grain every year does not increase significantly, while the price of basic commodities every year increases little by little due to inflation. Or as my brother @uruhara said, reduced quantity and volume like the "Mie Sukses" you told us about.
During the harvest season, prices tend to fall. I think this needs government intervention to control prices. Or at least provide subsidies for fertilizers and pesticides so that farmers can still survive by selling their agricultural products at prices that seem stuck there every year.

Yeah I know what is going on with agribusiness, usually, big companies buy the crop at the futures contract means that no matter how expensive the fertilizers and pesticides or what happens in the nature they set the price early so farmers will earn less.

Government and big companies should discuss about this and figure it out the solution

There are some also that kind of don't make the prices go up, like they will say to the farmers that this is really the price in the market, and again, the farmer has no choice because their crop can't be sold if they won't accept the price. Just imagine in the news and on social media a lot of farmers that will not accept the price of the buyer, so they tend to throw it out just to inform everyone that the price is too low. It is almost the same as not selling it as they can't get enough money. Famers are really in a difficult situation, so the government should control this.

This is true and is a problem in the country where I live, a lot of farmers are facing such a problem. For example, there are farmers who need to sell their crops to businessmen who will distribute or sell their crops to the city, and these businessmen will tell them such a low price that farmers will have no choice but to sell it at such ridiculous price or let their crops deteriorate or spoil, basically losing a lot of money. And with how much their tools and chemicals cost, they are losing more money than they are earning every day. So, I do agree with you that the government should take a look at this and do something about it. It is heartbreaking that farmers who are working to provide food for a whole nation are struggling to earn money they need to feed their own family.

Right now, I've seen a lot of farmers venturing to cities to work like construction workers because they can earn more and sometimes food is free if they have a good employer, and with that, they can earn on a daily basis, unlike when planting a crop, where they are not sure if they can earn a profit for a few months. It is really sad, and even for myself, I always buy at the farmers market and do not try to bargain because I see their struggle. They become the planter and also the seller because that is where they can earn a profit. I really do hope that even just a subsidy to them will greatly help them because if this does not stop or slow down, for sure, farmers won't plant and all of us will struggle.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: September 04, 2023, 02:08:33 PM
At least here in the United States, big time lotto winners going broke is a tale as old as time. The majority of people who tend to win these lotteries aren't financially savvy individuals (typically why they are wasting money on cheap lotto tickets in the first place instead of putting their money on shitcoins or penny stocks, for example, that actually have a lot better chance at "winning") so they get the money and blow it.

Invest, invest and invest.  If you win a bunch of money gambling..invest it people.  Have fun, but invest the majority.

Much easier to say mate but for the people who don't exactly have the information like we do, they tend to gamble those winnings again (but this time, as a bigtime roller) with the same mindset and hopes that they will be lucky again and the rest, in most scenario, they will spend it in things that they never had like buying expensive things that are only a liability instead of a buying an assets. But again, most people that won the lottery are the people who doesn't have any knowledge on what to do that is why in the end, they will go back to where they started and start dreaming again.

This is also something I noticed, and it is also the same how rare it is that people can handle the money they win because most of those winners just lost it in under a year. I've seen a lot of videos and documentaries online about those lottery winners. Most of them spend it like it's unlimited because they think that they won big and it won't be gone, but again, after some time, they haven't noticed that it is getting smaller and smaller.Again, they are always saying that once you easily get the money, you also easily lose that money.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 04, 2023, 12:46:32 PM
It's because gamblers who just wanted to have fun are always in the safe side, they just do it for the sake of entertainment while the losses or winnings are just a mere bonuses to them because that is not what they're after in the first place. While the gamblers that are only in for the money, they are surely in a dangerous situation because there will be a point in their activity where they need to make some tough choices that will determine their day.
The gamblers that go to the casinos to spend some money may have a bad day or two but eventually they will learn their lesson and become responsible gamblers, however those that are in it for the money will keep taking on bigger and bigger risks to make profits and then they will keep taking risks in order to recover the money they have lost already, not learning their lesson until they have lost way too much money, assuming they learn their lesson which may not happen at all.

The last part of what you said is scaringly true. There are lots of gamblers out there that do not learn a valuable lesson until there is nothing left to teach them. It reminds me of problematic gamblers just betting and betting on something until such time that they have nothing left to bet unless they borrow money from someone else. At that point, I believe the individual is beyond saving no matter how much intervention is done to them. They either have to lose everything before they stop gambling, or they lose everyone around them.

I'm afraid, we cannot do something about it because they chose that path even if they have a lot more options beforehand, still they made a risky move that is why they had it coming. Sometimes, situations like that is the only thing that can help them in order to open their eyes about the reality, it might be unfortunate to think, but that's the last resort that can save them and a chance to redeem themselves by doing the right things instead of the things that will just worsen their situation.

Only you can help yourself. That is really the scary truth for sure. That kind of gambler is kind of blind and deaf on advice and doesn't see those people who are trying to help those people, but for sure he will be waken up after something happens very worse to him. Because right now, for sure, if that mistake happens to him, even if we see it as a big one, for that gambler it is still small, so he is not shaken up on this. But again, if worse happens to him, he will struggle a lot, like pain emotionally or physically.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: | POLL | Best suited place for bitcoin symbol's before or after amounts? on: September 04, 2023, 11:36:15 AM
This depends on your preference, but most of the time I noticed that when you put the BTC after the value, it is kind of easy to read, but if you are showing some data, it is better to be at first, like was used in fiat, but again, it depends on your preference. Also, when using its logo, it is better on before the value as it is more appealing and easy to read, but for words, it is better on last.
377  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: September 04, 2023, 10:10:26 AM
Elon did nothing wrong.

He kicked them useless employees because they were doing more harm then good. They were democrat sjw’s and let’s be honest nobody likes them other than the other democrat sjw’s. I like the current state of twitter more tbh. It is a lot more entertaining and even DJT sent a new tweet lately which means x is on the right path. Elon did the right thing buying twitter. Now he can promote anything he wants without any fear of getting censored by any democrat fuckwits like Dorsey or zuck.

This is what he is preparing to upgrade for the social network Twitter, a full-featured social network that is essential to us. So what is Elon doing wrong? We don't even need anyone to praise him for what he does, but feel it through our own experience. He is trying to bring the best social platform for us to use for free, but I don't understand why so many people are always annoyed with everything he does.

I want to ask, who are complaining about him, do you use twitter? Or are you using Mark Zuckerberg's Threads? Cheesy Cheesy. The worst social network I have ever experienced.

Why do others always want to spread hate? You are very right why we keep complaining about the updates, and that update you posted is really good, which is less hassle to us because they don't require now numbers. Again, I don't idolize Elon, but his work is great, and he is the kind of person who wants humanity to have comfort. I rarely use Twitter as I am on other social media platforms, but I do sometimes question why we are using another app for messaging since it can only be added to one app, which is what Elon is doing.
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 04, 2023, 07:03:10 AM
When someone sees a change in someone's financial status, they naturally ask him what he does. and thus close friends and some relatives are bound to tell these things. And when one wins a large amount from gambling he happily shares it with his close friends and some relatives. Thus gamblers cannot keep their gambling a secret. But for your own good this matter should be kept secret. Otherwise, these things can put you in danger at some point.  When you reach a good position financially, you will have many enemies behind you and will be able to target these things and harm you.
Yes we can follow your advice for gambling. Can't let anyone know that I am addicted to gambling. One of my close friend got rich by gambling and now he can't find a bride for marriage. Because when comes to know from bride's house my friend is addicted to gambling.  Then he does not want to marry from the bride's house.  My friend is in a lot of trouble right now not knowing if he can marry a good girl. So I wouldn't have understood my friend's gambling problem if I hadn't seen this problem. The more personal it can be, the better for us.

But its so bad not to say anything if you are already in bad faith since gambling addiction is not really a good stand. Much better if this cases exist tell it to your family so that we can get some help regarding on our case. But if you are just having fun and have good control much better if you keep it a secret since sometimes doing white lies is beneficial to us since it can make us away from any trouble.

But does it really matter if you hide your gambling activities? For sure, someone will find it out or someone will notice it because you can't really hide it as you've been spending a lot of time on it, which the people around you noticed, so they can still find it out and even try to help you if they want, though the problem really is that if that gambler is willing to get help because they always deny that they are already addicted.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: September 04, 2023, 04:29:58 AM
When someone has a particular wallet which he spends Bitcoins from can he be considered a Bitcoin investor?
Or does the term investor refer only to those who hodl Bitcoin?
The term bitcoin investment basically refers to people who buy and hold bitcoins. You cannot become an investor just by using bitcoins, becoming an investor requires high skill and experience. For example, if a person trades Bitcoin daily and holds it for a long time or holds it for a short period of time, they can be called an investor. And if you invest your money in bitcoins, then you are definitely an investor too.

In simple terms, if you are waiting for a profit, no matter if you have a skill or experience, holding a bitcoin doesn't require it, but it is a must because you know there are tons of ups and downs, which for sure your emotions will follow also. So I would say as long as you are waiting for a return, but if you're just spending it, then you can't be called an investor, unless you say that you will wait a few more days or weeks to see if the price of Bitcoin goes up before you convert it or use it, which can be called holding.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 04, 2023, 02:46:06 AM
I'm sure it's because you're too hasty. Try to really set a strategy before gambling and when you are in a good state of mind to do it. like the first point it looks like you are too hasty in gambling. try to rest a few days first, after that maybe it will be much more stable. and remember not to gamble too much it won't make you rich quickly.
Indeed. If you had a bad experience, try not to gamble for days to refrain yourself from recovering your losses. Moreover don't play if your desire is to win and not to have fun. Because if you're playing to win, chances are, you'll spend more than your set budget since you have this goal of gaining from your gambling activity.

In addition, no strategy can actually work in gambling that can give consistent profit. You might become lucky if you use a certain strategy but it doesn't mean it is effective. Therefore don't rely in such since gambling is usually depending on luck.

No patterns that can give you accurate win, most of the time it's based from luck and the wise decision making that you will going to take, if you can quit before you run out of luck and be satisfied with small winning then you will get some slice of the house bankroll, but if you fail to control yourself and instead of taking some winning you push for more, the chance is losing everything and regret after.

Which is mostly the problem with gamblers who have problems with their patience, or again, greed will play a part in it because only a few gamblers will settle for small wins because they want huge wins and then have a hard time quitting after that because they want to win more. This is really an endless cycle, but it will only break if we have self-control and able to control our emotions.
