361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL [IOTA ]- ICO 2 -Do YOU want to buy IOTA at a reasonable price? OR BIG SCAM? on: March 21, 2016, 12:32:47 PM
If it was mining you are arguing for the launch not to be advertised in advance with super instamining low diff at the start and a very short mining period. Doesn't sound fair to me. If that sounds fair to you then that's okay.
POW with strict guidelines is the only fair method of distribution. ICO are so open to be gamed and now you are saying that the only method we have to ensure they are not totally gamed is not important.

Bollocks. PoW isn't fair at all. A few guys with serious mining gear will grab the majority of the coins and then they can manipulate the market at will. What's the difference, if big miners or big ICO investors playing God on Polo and Trex?

Quote
NXT - well yes back then asking for an entire btc was prohibitive to the uptake in the project. If you wanted distribution  why not say 0.1 BTC? probably get a hell of a lot more than 21 btc total and more distribution. They over did that and the initial hoarders knew they had to give it out a bit to others or nobody would bite at all.

When NXT started back in 2013 summer BTC was somewhere around $60-80 but even during early autumn it was something barely above $100 (it exploded in the second part of october and in november) that's doesn't seem to me very restrictive. Most of us were simply more interested in quick profits on LTC clones or on other crap, and by the time NXT exploded it was to late to jump on board.

Quote
You seem to be going to a lot of trouble to defend this project for someone not invested in it. So far your defence seems lacking.

Tell me now you want to pay 3000% for something not even released, not even sure it's going to function. No clear set in stone benefits. Based on iota super processor that looks to others very unlikely. Others now probably going to be first to market with zero transaction fees. You tell me you want to pay it even though you didn't choose to invest but knew all about it. Okay well you can tell me these things but I'm not sure if you are just kidding or not.

To be honest I just simply don't like if butthurt people complaining about unfairness after not reading the ANN topics. BTW unlike in the case of NXT I've intentionally missed this ICO as I think it will follow the same path as NXT: good innovation -> zero marketing -> sink.
I'll go for a clone with proven good marketing folks around Smiley.

362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 21, 2016, 12:00:19 PM
again the point of p2p currency is to be indifferent to regulation and if where smart enough/dedicated enough we can make this happen, people are just too busy scrounging around for small bits of fiat to see the much larger picture.

P2P currency, exchanges and marketplaces are the way to avoid/bypass regulations. I think we need more effort on the marketplace part as I still cant buy two rolls and a pint of milk with BTC. Unfortunately bitcoin merchandise, precious metals and mining gears aren't edible Smiley.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is lisk the new eth? i'm talking about hype crazy pump on: March 21, 2016, 11:43:39 AM
when this is going to stop?

Never. Just get used to this. Please note that this is just the beginning of the year, later I guess we will see more 2.0, 3.0 whatever coins popping up like mushrooms after rain. I expect to see this year the start of a new 2013-2014 style coin cloning era.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 21, 2016, 11:35:38 AM
When i started mid-2013 roughly i had that gut reaction too...

That's fine, but who will contribute to the regulation on behalf of this community? The Bitcoin Foundation could have been that, but the leadership were after the quick buck (and some of them were common criminals) so they lost their significance by now. Then who else?

There are nobody who are accepted by this community and also taken seriously by the other side. So being a part of the regulation process is a dream what won't happen. BTW who are the other side? That side is also widely divided and there are very little cooperation between states and financial organizations. I believe you are too optimistic and we will end up with a lot of localized government imposed regulations and we will have to accept and live with that or fight a guerilla war for our money by moving it to the country what provides the best environment and the less disruptive regulations.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 21, 2016, 11:21:34 AM
If that's true then why are all the plebs trying to make a big deal out of crypto:banking relationships?

Regulation is not your enemy, even if the banks are

Regulation, banks, politicians and centralization are unfortunately coming in the same package. I few times I've pointed out how funny when alleged crypto fans are praising coins what made close relationships with banks.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL [IOTA ]- ICO 2 -Do YOU want to buy IOTA at a reasonable price? OR BIG SCAM? on: March 21, 2016, 11:12:28 AM
@cryptohunter
Have you bought Iota at Ico?

If searching for gold/ gems would be easy, everybody would do it and it would not have value.

Nobody is going to spoonfeed you information, the Ico was 1 month on BCT, lot's of time, totally transparant.

Investing in general and especially investing in crypto is a risk. Never invest more than you are willing to loose.

I agree, the ICO was there all of us know about it. Actually this argument is pretty much the same as in the case of NXT. The NXT ICO was open, it was here for a long time but only twenty some people was interested enough to invest some BTC in it. During the beta testing they also gave away a lot of NTXs for testers, for a while it was also sold between 100-300 sats here on BTT. When it later went to the moon a big bunch of people started accusing them with ninja launch and talking about fair distribution.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - is it shaping up to be a HUGE SCAM?? let's take a closer look on: March 21, 2016, 11:05:11 AM
Anyone remember seeing any threads on the main board before the ICO??
Anyone remember seeing any threads during the ICO?

They kept communicating in the ANN thread before, during and after the ICO, also they had some ICO topic as well. I haven't seen too much IOTA threads here on this board indeed, but CfB and his fans not used to shilling around on a dozen of sockpuppet accounts like some other devs and fan boys used to do. Personally I appreciate that.

Quote
In a recent poll on here around 50% classed Iota a scam.

Some Monkey dust quote turned up in my mind while reading about a "recent poll on here around":

" - Our poll of a thousand people in the east midlands reveals that 99 percent of them would rather be told what they want to hear, than be told the truth.
- Is that the truth?
- No, but it's what you wanted to hear."

BTW I'm not an IOTA investor.

Putin Issues Arrest Warrant for Financial Terrorist George Soros!!

Financial terrorist and Hungarian bank dick, Convicted Felon George Soros… Russian Intelligence has fingered Soros for using cross-collateralized compounded Swedish and Danish foreign currency derivatives for the purpose of an attack on the Russian stock market..

Soros’ use of these cross-collateralized compounded derivatives utilizing Luxembourg banks violates the terms of the Basil II European Union banking agreement.

See more: https://syrianfreepress.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/vladimir-putin-russia-issues-international-arrest-warrant-for-rothschild-soros/

These are old news. First time turned up in 2012. I still haven't seen the arrest warrant, however Russians used to document well such affairs.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is better than Lisk on: March 21, 2016, 10:09:52 AM
Lol if anything i;m a newly registered lisk anti-shill.
I am just curious about why it has raised so much btc given that it is a crypti clone and the benefits over eth aren't clear at all. Especially after reading the op.

Probably people who have seen eth making orbital profits trying to repeat the success. Also javascript is conidered an easy to use widespread language, so maybe it will be easier to find dapp programmers than in the case of C++, go or ruby. (However this isn't true for Python.) We'll see how it goes. Anyway competition is always a healthy thing.
370  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The proper way to beat your wife on: March 21, 2016, 09:51:58 AM
That`s why i`m a feminist... Angry

That's great!  ...and when do you lads and lasses planning to actually do something real stuff for the suffering muslim woman? I know that wouldn't be as comfortable like nagging with some western companies because of the hair colour of the barbie doll or something like that, probably also not that profitable, but that would serve the good of humanity Wink.
371  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The proper way to beat your wife on: March 21, 2016, 09:48:25 AM
Have you read the bible?  God created woman specifically to serve only man... that is the entire point of a woman according to the bible... where do you think Muhammad got the idea?

Wrong again mate Smiley. The bible said god created woman as a companion to man. The creation of the woman from his rib tells that they are the same flash and blood, therefore they are equal parts of the whole. Everything else is just human addition according to some tribal traditions and local customs.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 20, 2016, 10:45:41 PM
But we dislike regulations, banksters and such stuff. Aren't we? We dislike scammers too, so this is a difficult question. On one side we have banksters and lawyers on the other side we have scammers and a few honest guys (being a honest guy not necessary means that the coin will be successful). Which one do you like more?
373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The proper way to beat your wife on: March 20, 2016, 10:37:48 PM
BTW, where are the third, fourth, whatever generation feminists? Shouldn't they at least start twitter and FB campaigns or make demonstrations around the Pakistani embassy (of course in a safe distance from the building) Smiley?
374  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The proper way to beat your wife on: March 20, 2016, 10:32:11 PM
What the hell is this? how could you promote something like his. Very disgusting

Read what he wrote, and then try to understand what you just have read mate... :/ You might realize that he's not "promoting" domestic violence, but condemning such actions.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: March 20, 2016, 10:25:32 PM
Gambling is risky game of money from which most people lose and just a few wins. Gambling too is addictive and fun especially when you're winning and that's why most people can't get away from gambling once they get in it.
In gambling you only win from the start then you lose whenever you win a certain amount.

Actually gambling is already considered as a metal illness by some psychologists, but who cares. Gambling itself is a form of entertainment, addiction is a separate health issue. You can find people who are susceptible for forming addictions, everywhere not just in gambling. BTW being a maniac workaholic can ruin someone's family life just as much as being an addicted gambler, but in a different way.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: March 20, 2016, 10:19:15 PM
What are the chances for the most widespread cryptocurrency to become the de-facto universal payment solution in one of the most diverse segments of the Internet?

- Read full article HERE and don't forget to share your thoughts with us Wink

No. It isn't. Some more easily available foolproof microtransaction optimized altcoin going to be future of online gambling. Bitcoin is a speculative vehicle what soon can be too expensive for occasional gamblers. In addition with it's current technical limitations BTC isn't really good tool for millions of gamblers to move money around.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC resistant - Why not simply Miner resistant? on: March 20, 2016, 10:13:45 PM
OK. You have a PoS coin, and proud about it. Got it. ...and then what? There are tons of PoS coins out in the wild, everybody can catch some Smiley.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Syscoin is scam - not buy. on: March 20, 2016, 10:09:54 PM
Bullshit. I agree it's a shitcoin but this rise is just the usual pump and dump. On altcoin exchanges money is going from coin to coin and trying to multiply itself Smiley. Now a group with a lot of money pumping SYS. Next week, or even tomorrow they will pump something else. Nothing new here. Such actions on the exchanges not going to make any coin a scam. BTW bitcoin is also often pumped and dumped but we are still here.
379  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brussels: Moslems Protected Abdeslam – The Whole Neighborhood Knew He was There on: March 20, 2016, 10:01:58 PM
I'm not surprised. Most people failing to realize that muslims are not our friends. Some of them whom we know personally maybe friends, but the majority of them are distanced themselves from us and have a very different agenda for the future.

Why Haven't We Met Aliens Yet? Because They've Evolved into AI

Well, OK... but an AI cant send out scouting drones? Every kind of intelligent entity trying to discover and map its surroundings. More likely they are simply very far, or they are just at the same level as we are, or they are far beyond our level and we don't notice their presence.
