381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 30, 2023, 06:02:02 PM
Yes, i will admit it that there's fun in gambling even when you loose, those that may not regard loosing as part of having fun are the ones that have missappropriate their financial fund needed on other things for gambling and couldn't afford loosing, when we loose while gambling, we shouldn't allow that to weigh us down, because we are supposed to be gambling for fun and when we loose shouldn't be the very bad moment of our life at such period all because we lost while gambling.
Easy for you to say that we need to distribute fairly our finance in different things but putting that into practice is a different thing, that's why it only works when you're talking about it and not because you're doing it. Yes you're right we can have fun even if we're losing but look at people that have gambled their life away, you can probably surmise from their faces that they haven't had fun in awhile, I'm not saying you're wrong but that's not entirely right either is what I'm trying to say.

Yes you can have fun despite all the losses but I don't think you should be thinking of that when you're gambling because it distracts you from the fact that you're gambling and having fun because having fun with your vices should be dumb and brain dead so you're really enjoying it.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 30, 2023, 05:15:52 PM
There is no retirement for this man. But there is no mention of the location yet so maybe they are still negotiating where they will do it. Since Pacman is so rich I'm guessing the funds will be for the Gaza? He is doing this all the time so there is no surprise.

Pacman and Floyd seem to be enjoying all their exhibitions while the commenters below this article are seriously bitter about these exhibition fights.
That's what I thought too, given that he's gone from the ring for a long time now, it seems that he's not ever going back but it seems that Pacquiao's calling is something that he's not going to ignore and I think that as long as he can box, he would definitely be someone that's going to do so. I guess the reason why exhibition fights aren't that fun for them is because they think that it's a disrespect to the legendary status of some of the old fighters that's going for these matches so they feel that their ego gets damaged so they end up here. I think the hate on Floyd's justifiable, didn't he scammed Logan Paul out his money from their exhibition match?

Knowing Buakaw's background, I don't think that he's got a good footing against Pacquiao given that he's a traditional Muay Thai fighter meaning that he's likely deadly at kicks, knees and elbows so it's definitely a Pacquiao win for me but if the tables are turned and it's MMA then Pacquiao's gonna eat dust against Buakaw.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: December 30, 2023, 04:25:29 PM
Another post without any proof. Kid saw you eat broccoli, based on you logic, the kid will also taste and eat it. And become super healthy, as he is eating vegetables of vitamins. But in reality, kid wont eat it, and would rather eat fries or pasta.

All those who say “kid will do everything parents do” either dont have kids, or dont know their kids, or follow some life standarts of elder generetion.
To me that's logical because that's what most kids do right? They imitate the people that's around them and I don't think that it's fair that you're saying that they won't copy you if you're eating vegetables but if the environment introduced to the child is where you're all eating vegetables daily or most of the time, they wouldn't have any problem with that eating part because they're going to be accustomed to it, now if they're the kind of kid that's introduced to fast early on and they see the people around them eat those fast food shit then you'd be right.
What negative affect would kids have? You have mentioned that. Please dont say addiction. Be more original. Those who gamble not always are addicted.

If gambling is bad - why you gamble? Why you show bad example for everyone around you?  Grin
I guess @goxcraft don't got no more things to talk about so he's going to go back to the most generic answer about this issue. I don't know much how it will affect the kid though and I don't think it's going to be addiction, what I do think is going to be the effect of gambling to the kid though is that it's going to warp how they think of money and getting introduced too early to stuff that involve money is going to make them think of stuff that's inappropriate for their age.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: December 30, 2023, 03:38:24 PM
  • Addiction - This is the likely reason why they're still playing but it's debatable because there's people out that's not addicted but haven't won anything big in gambling but aren't addicted to it. Addiction can definitely be the likely reason for that unreasonable continuance of that vice.
  • Entertainment - Some people find gambling to be fun and entertaining, now these types of people are different from those with gambling addiction, they just want to play with their money and they love the experience, most people that are like this are probably playing poker as that's where the fun is, when you're playing with other people.
  • One Way Ticket - some might've pointed this type of gambler already but this is what I call them because they're most prevalent with lottery players, still putting up numbers that aren't likely to hit but they'll say it's worth it because one win is all they need.

Those are what I think are the reasons why people are still gambling despite all those losses they've accumulated through their gambling years.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Heritage is Some How Spiritual on: December 28, 2023, 03:15:16 PM
That's because they've got a bad funding that they don't have the budget to be able to get really good players to stay and that's the sad truth about football, even if you've grown up on that club and got lucky enough to play to them, after all this profound matters, it's all money matters for the majority, no matter how strong the brotherhood and the camaraderie in that team if they continue to not have the money, they'll continue to be that team that sucks for more generations until they find the right people to fund their team to upgrade in terms of players, facilities and coaching staff.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 27, 2023, 05:45:11 PM
You can't really do that though because you're going to have a problem with your gambling if you force yourself to budget your time in gambling. Like all the others have already said, it's better if you're managing your money/bankroll when gambling rather than your time because time is intangible unlike money so you have a hard time trying to bend the rules when you're managing your money compared to your time plus you're spending less money if you're focused on bankroll management rather than time management.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 27, 2023, 04:40:14 PM
For me it's watching with bets because you have something to gain or lose when the team that you're rooting for wins or loses but to each person this is going to be different since we have different levels of care for money and finances, some of us don't mind losing some money to bet on our favorite teams or the teams that have a favorable odds while others see what we could've spent those money so we have a hard time having fun while betting.

This is a really fun discussion thread as I have an eyeball that there's a balance between people not having fun and having fun while betting, it would be nice if someone's able to gather the data so we can see which one's the winner and see how close the gap between the two is, OP should've put a voting to this thread.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 27, 2023, 03:23:24 PM
Professional poker players also have a lot of other sources of income. Many of them are doing stuff like:
-writing a book on gambling or poker
-doing affiliate marketing on their website for a casino
-giving out premium picks on membership channels
-building their own casino and running that

We should not narrow down their sources of income as poker or sports betting as said. There is the this "cushion" of income to back them up and all these are the non-gambling modes of earning.

But what you've mentioned only comes after they've become a known figure in the poker circle and it's going to take a long time for that to happen to them because there's a lot of big fishes you've got to challenge and get through to make a name for yourself but that's not the best way to get famous in poker and make a living out of gambling, the best way would be for you to play other games like roulette, blackjack or baccarat and make a killing out of those games which is difficult to do given that those games that I've mentioned aren't that easy to play because it's chance based unlike poker. And to answer the question, yes you can make a living out of gambling but it's not for everyone so don't get your hopes up about it, just gamble for entertainment.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Accomplished What Brought You to Bitcoin? on: December 26, 2023, 11:24:12 AM
I gotta say that I've accomplished a lot with bitcoin especially with all the art contests that I've won and I've participated, the wins that I've got there helped me build my investment portfolio and at the same time build my artistic portfolio and encouraged me to do more and improved on it even more. Here's to bitcoin for enabling that drive in me if not just boosting that drive that's already there.
390  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 26, 2023, 10:12:04 AM
I agree that realization is the key to start rehabilitating oneself and be cured of gambling addiction.  Without personal admission, a gambling addict will never realize that he is addicted and will continue to be addicted to gambling without realizing that he is deeply addicted to the gambling activities.
Realization is one thing because there's self-aware addicts in there that are still gambling and can't ask for help or even refuses to help, the willingness to be cured of your addiction combined with realization is a thing of wonder because you want the change in lifestyle because there's no way that you can ever keep it that way forever and so you have the will to change and rehabilitate for good.

392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal? on: December 25, 2023, 02:55:27 PM
Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal?
Will any one come knocking on your door if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal?
Will posts like this be banned too after Jan?
Will using mixers be an expensive?
1. Nothing to worry about but if you're going to send those coins to a CEX then you're going to have a problem there because they might see that you've used a mixer for those coins. You might not be doing anything illegal but once you're caught using one, you have some explaining to do about why you're using mixers.
2. Unless you're a domestic terrorist or a member of a terrorist cell, I don't think you're going to find anyone knocking your door anytime soon.
3. You can still talk about mixers but it's generalized and no names of mixing services are going to be mentioned.
4. I don't think so, they don't ask for much for their services, that's why criminals use them to launder their money.
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: have a question about cancel a transaction on: December 25, 2023, 01:03:21 PM
Thank you very much.

Another question: so it means the transaction may be dropped if the fee is too low?
Not like dropped more like it's too slow that when it resolves the bitcoin that had RBF applied meant that when it was delivered it got no bitcoin to deliver anymore. Think of it this way, you ask for someone to deliver you a package but they take about 3 days to arrive to get the package and deliver it to the address so you hire another one that will deliver it to the same address (same address for the sake of example) but this time they arrive in 12 hours but you have to pay more because they're faster.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to the orphans on my birthday on: December 25, 2023, 11:58:46 AM
Merry Christmas and hopefully you'll be able to do this activity again in the same orphanage or if God's willing, more orphanages in the country because these acts of kindness are something that should be supported or something that should be constant and consistent so the help really is a help and not just something that those influencers do to create clout by faking the help, would be glad to support you even a little in the future.
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: December 25, 2023, 11:27:09 AM
Depends on when will it be gone, if it's gone right now then there's going to be waves of panic surging all over the world because a lot of companies that have invested billions of dollars in bitcoin will be facing bankruptcy and then they'll lose everything because they got to pay the investors and the world will never be the same because a lot of people that have invested in bitcoin will be going back to square one in their financial status unless they've been able to branch out to other avenues of investment and not just bitcoin or cryptocurrency then that return to square one is their only way, altcoins will be affected the most because the market will think that X cryptocurrency will be next and so the market will experience panic like never before.

And this will probably be talked about for over a year and then people will eventually forget about it and then we will move on, this forum will lose a lot of members but there's some that will stick and still talk about the nostalgia of the golden years of bitcoin.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 25, 2023, 10:15:51 AM
You got that 2k invested in bitcoin and trust me, you're going to get a lot of profit if you hodl for a really long time or just set it to be sold when bitcoin gets to 100k. Also, you've got a job probably right? You can slowly invest in bitcoin via DCA and as time goes by, bitcoin isn't that expensive to you anymore. Don't be like those other people out there that's still indecisive about bitcoin investment because they're going to have a hard time regretting that indecisiveness when bitcoin gets to a new ATH.
Best mindset to have and it's a good advice to just invest that 2k in bitcoin and giving out the prospect of what could be the resulting profit if they've invested and waited for it until the price has gone to a 100k, you've also covered the DCA part so OP doesn't have an excuse not investing or regretting investing. My only take in all of this is that OP should take it all slow, if OP doesn't feel like investing a huge amount of money to bitcoin, they can just do DCA so they can ease in without too much worry or regret about investing in bitcoin. And to OP, remember what @pinggoki's last statement, that your indecisiveness could be your downfall.

398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 24, 2023, 03:55:46 PM
There should be some a number where we can determine if we're on a streak because 2 consecutive wins isn't really a win streak imo and the same thing with losses, even 3 consecutive isn't but maybe 4. There should be some sort of median number where we consider as a streak, that way we're not setting our own standards which is easily broken. The title's already a good tip imo because it serves the point across, teaches you what to do and how you should do things to insure safety from gambling. At the end of the day, these self-imposed limitations will be up to you if you'll be able to uphold them or not.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 24, 2023, 03:05:06 PM
Yes, because if we're talking about depression here and not just general loneliness that everyone feels every now and then that means that there's people out there that feels this and so they want to have an outlet or something to vent out what their feeling or to feel something.

It goes like this: depression and then the need to find purpose or joys in life and when they feel something in that stuff that makes them less happy, they never want to stop doing that but they have to sometime because they're limited in resources and so they end up doing lots of stuff and end up getting addicted to that temporary joy from the thing that make them feel something which is in this case is gambling.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person more addicted on: December 24, 2023, 02:29:59 PM
It's probably online gambling seeing how it's more accessible to more people due to high volume of population having a smartphone or two and the fact that online casinos and other online gambling are more convenient since you don't need to commute or drive to the physical casino, you can gamble at the comfort of your own home. Those 2 factors that I've mentioned are what I believed to be the reason why I think online gambling have more addicts than the physical one and I don't think that it's not far fetch that it's the truth because logically you'll reach out for the fastest way that can get you relief and pleasure in nature so applying that logic, then online gambling seems to fit that criteria in the logic.
