381  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Amazon & Ebay Goods for BTC. Fast and reliable, 50% of item cost. on: October 07, 2014, 08:01:51 PM
50% off huh? Who's account or credit card did you steal?
382  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Title Loan requested - 13 BTC Secured by nice vehicle on: October 07, 2014, 10:20:05 AM
No car title only, must ship the car along with it. Using a flat rate box will save you quite a bit on shipping  Wink. Your 13btc is waiting.
383  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW CAN I BUY BITCOINS HASSLE FREE - HELP! :) on: October 07, 2014, 07:51:53 AM
I see coinbase mentioned several times. Initially, this isn't hassle free. They require all sorts of verification, at will take at least a couple days verify your documents. It also takes a week to receive your bitcoins from the time you place the order, assuming it doesn't get canceled during that time.

If you're planning to buy long term, then register and get verified from coinbase or any other large exchanges. If it's a one or two time thing, then just pay the premium from somebody (don't offer paypal, quickest way to get shut down).
384  Economy / Collectibles / Re: TGBEX, Limited Edition Physical Bitcoins on: October 07, 2014, 07:45:02 AM
I also wanted to add that the 20btc and 50btc coins are just ridiculous. Casascius bearer bars were high denomination, but only a few were made. It's like a pyramid. The higher the denomination, the harder it will be to sell, so fewer should be made. Casascius coins came out in 1btc each, when btc price was below $10. It was no problem for the average bitcoiner to buy 1btc, or even the 25btc coins back then. But now with the btc value and price premium you're on top of the face value, how many people do you think will drop thousands worth on these? There will probably be some buyers, but your audience will be greatly limited.

Relate these to selling silver bullion. You'll be able to sell smaller 1oz bars much faster, and you'll have more people able to buy these than if you were try to sell a 10kg bar.

You still haven't addressed the problem of x-ray being able to see the keys. You see the engraved keys as a "secure feature", but I see it as a problematic liability. You can't deny the fact that certain instruments will be able to read right though the hologram without damaging it.
386  Economy / Lending / Re: What is acceptable collateral? on: October 07, 2014, 05:47:52 AM
But recently many new lenders are accepting bitcointalk accounts as collateral.

A bitcointalk account as collateral is a joke, imo.  It costs nothing to create, so what value does it have?   Are people willing to jump off a bridge just because I, a LEGENDARY member, ask them to??

But I'm sure accounts has value to this lenders.

-snip-

Just because some accept accounts as collateral doesn't mean it's good collateral. If I were to give up my account as collateral to get a loan, then sign an address to recover the account, then quickly sold off the account, I would have the funds from the loan and the funds from sold account. What are you going to do?

Personally, anyone that requests a loan from me and offers an account as collateral, automatically gets denied. They'd have a better chance of getting the loan without collateral than to offer an account. When you offer an account, that means you have no respect for you own account and probably wouldn't mind ditching it either. I mentally check these people off as untrustworthy.
387  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins noob here... on: October 07, 2014, 05:08:03 AM
If you're new to LBC, be prepared to take a beating first. First of all, you're competing with a lot of higher status guys that are already established. You'll have to sell at a lower exchange rate if you want anyone to bite, because there's no reason why anyone would buy from you if they can buy from someone already more trustworthy, if prices are the same.

Second, the site is littered with scammers. If you start to get higher volume, be prepared to deal with attempted scams on a daily basis. You might lose a bit as a learning lesson.

Now specifically for cash deposits, it's generally safe, but not foolproof. You're at risk of having your bank account banned if you get enough deposits (money laundering suspected), or even if the bank gets a tip off that it's a bitcoin transaction. Lastly, cash deposits are reversible. Not as easy as paypal, but easy enough (I recently just got a 4-digit cash amount reversed on me within the last 3 weeks).
388  Economy / Lending / Re: What is acceptable collateral? on: October 07, 2014, 04:58:12 AM
Since alt coin collateral is not your thing, ship something small but valuable. The more liquid it is, the better collateral it's considered as. For example, a small artifact might potentially have high value, IF you can find the right buyer. But that's the problem, it might be hard to find someone to buy. Now if you provided a newest release iphone, everyone and their mom wants one, so it can easily be sold in worst case scenario. Same with precious metal, it's easily sold.

Be creative. But just note, this is not an excuse to be stupid either.
389  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.01 loan on: October 07, 2014, 04:48:26 AM
It doesn't matter how big or small the loan is. Your account is already in the red. What incentive do you have from paying it back?
390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: **~~ australian needs advice ~~** on: October 07, 2014, 01:36:10 AM
LBC has those inflated price because you're paying for the anonymity and receiving your btc quickly. You don't need to go through the hassle of document verification or go through AML checks.
391  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan requested - Business startup on: October 06, 2014, 06:49:08 AM
I was using SR to get weed.  I lived in California, and I was a patient, but I lived hella far from a dispensary, so I was being very hush hush, because I was getting small amounts of cannabis in a potentially vulnerable way.   I have replaced cannabis and prescriptions now with Kratom and other herbs.   So Im not worried about being anonymous any more.

lol probably not something you wouldn't want to openly admit, seeing how your real ID is now tied to your forum account. Sure you might have ways to legally get weed now, but back then it was still illegal to get it from silk road. Wouldn't want to see you get Shrem'ed before your business becomes a success.
392  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: .6 for sale on: October 06, 2014, 06:19:11 AM
Just putting it out there that I have already completed this deal almost 12 hours ago. I've dealt with Mike on several occasions so I didn't have a problem sending first, however I have yet to receive the btc. If he is still accepting btc for this, then something is up.
393  Economy / Services / Re: Escrow wanabee on: October 04, 2014, 08:00:26 PM
As a background I'm a 38yrs old family man, work as a civil servant for the British government and can provide ID. I'm also an ACCA member so have to obey to some ethics rules which I believe in.

This is not relevant to anything. The fact that you don't know the implied qualifications to start an escrow service means you probably shouldn't be one.

Consider this. If I needed escrow service, would I run to you first before trusting myself?
394  Other / Off-topic / Re: VOD & Tomatocage slowly shitting in their pants? on: October 04, 2014, 07:49:55 PM
This interview will come into the new Cryptomagazine which I will be publishing soon.

Looking forward to reading magazines written by a group of pre-teens that's about to hit puberty. I can safely say this based on the maturity level of your thread.

Why this is in the lending section? Because that is where the bagholders spend most of their time playing sheriff and deputy.

If you want to fling some dogshit on price plummets, look to the speculation or altcoin ann section.
395  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: I propose about 20 to 50 BTC loan for invest at cloud mining on: October 04, 2014, 06:52:42 PM
I really desperated with job searching after graduated from university...

I suggest you start again from high school. The way you think and your reasoning ability is that of a 9-year old, but to give you the benefit of the doubt, we'll just say high school. In the other thread, you mentioned getting allowance money from mommy. University graduate, really?
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My company can no longer take BTC. on: October 04, 2014, 04:57:04 PM
As for the second part of your concern; Bitcoin is still going through growing pains. I hope you didn't expect people to line up to pay you in btc. You've spent your time just setting up the payment on the website, but no time or money was spent on advertising. How do you expect your potential btc customer when word never got out in the first place? You even admit the products you sell is a niche.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My company can no longer take BTC. on: October 04, 2014, 04:51:28 PM
Coinbase complies with AML/KYC and is registered with FINCEN. They need to ask those things. The info requested is very basic and any legit business should have no problem divulging. Really, what's the problem here? Coinbase processes your payment, I'm pretty sure they need to keep this info on file. You go to your bank to open a business account, are you going to complain how they request this info as well?
398  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Seling 1.75 BTC Preev+0% and Need Western union on: October 03, 2014, 07:42:54 PM
Wow is this really a thread about trade that i don't even know about?

You're basically admitting that the guy got scammed (but not by you).

The sequence of events says you're a scammer. After a hacker scams someone and his cover is blown, he wouldn't try to defend the account. He'll just ditch it. After xavio4980 posted the wallet address, you were cornered so played the "wasn't me" excuse. So you coincidentally recovered and changed your PW in a day, after it all happened?

Don't try to dig yourself a bigger hole. Just return his btc, or ditch the account.
399  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Super Easy Way To Do Local Bitcoin Transactions FREE on: October 03, 2014, 06:18:44 PM
Once it's cleared, they can't take it back without your authorization.

Can you quote exactly where the terms say it can't be taken back without your authorization? This is an online transfer, I don't see this being well implemented. All a scammer has to do is call his bank account and say the Square transaction was unauthorized, and if the bank reverses the transaction, then Square will lose out on the money. At this point, they will either take the loss, or give the negative balance to you, and most likely send you to collection if you don't pay the debt.
