After collecting enough name suggestions i will open a poll and community decide the future name.

Great! That is the best way to do it.

Developer you are doing an excellent job. Please take my comments as suggestions. You have done all the work and have the right to lead in the direction you see fit. Many of us are just pushing for greater exposure.

Me too. I'm just here to help and want to see the new tech get as much attention as possible when its ready.

Hey All,

I'm excited to hear name suggestions. I think using another animal puts us in the same predicament, it sounds a bit gimmicky. We need something that sounds technical and environmental. That way it makes sense with the devs intentions and still sounds like a currency not a gimmick.

suggestions, these may already exist, but to maybe help us on the right track:

Preservation Coin /or Currency
Restoration Coin /or Currency

It would also help if we referred to our project by the acronym which will be simpler. Every big company does it these days. So we could be "RC" or "PC". If those are taken, we add in crypto. So we'd be referred to as "RCC" and our full name is Restoration Crypto Currency.

Nice suggestions.

Thanks!

Technical, but somewhat vague. That's the key. Environmental coin for instance is much to limiting. We want it to sound like it could mean anything, but when you read into it it makes perfect sense. We're trying to 'restore' endangered species through a fee charged on transactions transferred to a charity for example.

If you maintain the analogy. We are in Mammothland, XC has invaded this place, who really went to war with who?

I saw much of the fighting today now deleted. I saw nothing I'd call a lie. There were boasts and harsh accusations sure. Things like "XC is crap" "XC isn't anonymous even though dev has convinced people it is" "XC will be found faulty". These are opinions, they can't be lies if they're opinions. Hey, I admit I may have missed some of what was said. . .

I see this as the XC crowd going to war with a hothead dictator who'd been doing a whole lot of vague opinionated barking, but stays within his own boarders. Its a preemptive strike I guess.

He's a hothead and he doesn't have a lot of tact. Doesn't mean hes wrong or lying.

What is the accusation of fraud then? How does anyone think the dev could make money from this if its fake? There was no premine or privileged access. There is no reason to expect Mammothcoin user has any more coins than anyone else.... So what he's just lying for the hell of it?
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAMM] MammothCoin| REAL TRUSTLESS DECENTRALISED Anon Wallet Coming soon on: August 13, 2014, 04:15:12 PM
Also, I'll add that he did not make the claim that XC has central nodes. He simply said that his coin does not have them. The accusations have always been unspecific in that regard...The equivalent to saying "Coke tastes bad". Its an empty statement. Lets get this coin out already and have a real taste test happening.

Oh come on, now you're trying to hard.

What do you mean?

Look at it this way. Bitcointalk is THE place to market cryptos. If I ran a site marketing Pepsi, I'd delete posts from users saying how great Coke is. . .Even if Coke came out first and had a bigger community behind it. I also try to support Pepsi by making vague statements like "Pepsi is good Coke is crap".

Everyone is worked up over this, but bad etiquette isn't proof of bad coding or even ethics. . . I stayed in the engineering residence in University. My roomates were smart as hell, but often lacked social skills. Add into that an obvious language barrier here also.

It's not a matter of posts about "Coke" being deleted.

It's a matter of posts about Mammothcoin's claims being deleted.

He's censoring any discussion about the truth. Only his unsubstantiated assertions remain undeleted.

His claims have been that XC is unreliable (albeit aggressively stated). Again, as someone who can't read the code, I can't ascertain whether he is right or not. If XC is unreliable, he has every right to keep supporters of it off his thread......Few people are following this Mammoth, the volume is very low. If this is an irrelevant coin, with a lying dev, why are you here at all? Won't the problem resolve itself very quickly when phase 2 comes out and everyone can see that its a scam? . . . If its not a credible threat, why give it any mind?

@synechist if you want from me an answer you need to have respect my job, join my tests and make it public in your thread that our system really works

After you accused us of lying when you're the one doing so. Just own up to the fact that our system works and is the first decentrlised system.

Decentralized and anonymous are so vague of terms. No one will ever actually be right or able to make that claim. . . Bitcoin was pretty anonymous before people figured out how to follow transactions. Wasn't it then technically the first? Or how about gold? Also very anonymous. . .
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAMM] MammothCoin| REAL TRUSTLESS DECENTRALISED Anon Wallet Coming soon on: August 13, 2014, 03:38:34 PM
Hell, if its just fud. Let them help tank the price further so we can buy some more!

Ah but I won't tell you what to do. Its your thread.

I must agree. No sense deleting things here. The truth will out soon enough either way when phase 2 is out and everyone can go over it.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAMM] MammothCoin| REAL TRUSTLESS DECENTRALISED Anon Wallet Coming soon on: August 13, 2014, 03:32:33 PM
Remember this is the Mammothcoin thread, not XC. An 'attack' on XC here isn't really an attack....However, if what Mammoth dev says is true, I can see why he would want to keep deleting distracting information off of here. Assume for a minute that he's right and XC is unreliable/trickery, just that its beyond most people's comprehension. IF thats true. He's acting in a way anyone would expect.

Dude, we don't have anything to hide. Hence why we aren't anonymous developers and posted an anon tx that you can compare yourself.

We aren't attacking anyone, just defending ourselves from claims that have no merit or reputation behind them.

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/tx.dws?229177.htm

Its inherent to what you're doing, everything you do is hidden from non-experts. Post whatever you like. I don't read code so it means nothing to me. I think its great that you're public though, that is excellent....But then ultimately I'm back to 20k vs 4mil. . .Is it really worth that much to me that you're public? Maybe.

I also look at it this way. MAMM market cap $20000. XC market cap 4million. . . . A whole lot more potential for growth over here. This may seem sketchy, but the potential makes it worthwhile for now to see how things pan out.
Mamm will be very good i will make sure it will success, i can do whatever it takes.

Well I hope so. That would be good for all of us. Good luck!

I have nothing to hide here is our scheme truly working trustless system, XC dev has something to hide otherwise would not attack here this much

Grin We have everything there for one who wants to make truly decentralized system

I saw his scheme he was cheating now he is hurrying to cover his cheat see the post above, i told this before he will change it,

The XC dev has not attacked you.

You'll see that your "attackers" are:

- not the dev

- responding to your attacking remark against the XC dev

So you're the initial attacker, and the XC dev has not attacked you yet.

The criticism came from a Dan Metcalf, I thought that was the XC dev?

ooh this is heating up. Man I wish I could verify things myself, oh well, on with the show.

One suggestion Mammothcoin dev. If you made yourself public, or gave us something else to help understand who you are, where you're from, and what your training is - it would go a long way.

Ultimately. As you've said. There are only a handful of people out there who can truly look at these systems and determine whether the anonymity works. But still to have a community and a successful coin, people need to trust that it is trust-less. If we knew more about you, we could trust that. If you have a charity attached, we could trust that. If you had some known testers, we could trust that. I know that you're focusing on the code, and guarding your new methodology (this is perfectly reasonable given the competition out there and the fact you are not yet finished). . . .But long term a very public approach would do wonders for the coin value.
