Petrol is over $2.10 a litre and my water and electricity bills have also increased by about 15%. You have no idea how lucky you are Here electricity prices went up about 2000%, although it dropped like three quarters again. It's still very high.

I like how thorough you are, but I think you're over complicating things and putting too much long term trust in flash cards.
LoyceV: read this from desktop!
To start: Don't make up your own seed words, it won't make it safer but increases the risk of messing up. Whatever you choose, test it with a small amount and see if you can recover your coins before funding more.

So IMO it's safer to hand write a private key than to print it. Years ago, someone sent me his hand-written (XLM) private key. He missed several characters, and there are enough other mistakes to make all my attempts to brute-force it fail. Seed words were created to write them down, writing down private keys is risky. Don't you think an USB stick with a physical write protection switch could be used instead of a DVD? Sure, but I've never seen one in real life. A normal USB stick will work too, but a DVD makes it much easier to be absolutely sure nothing can be stored. Bitcoin is supposed to help unbanked people I don't think that was ever the goal. From Bitcoin's perspective, being unbanked isn't the problem, it's the solution. (they are 1.5 billion according to the World Bank) There are only 43 million funded Bitcoin addresses. On-chain Bitcoin can't help all of them.

Governments and countries around the world are working hard to implement CBDC as fast as they can and they are getting serious about it. ECB is indeed working "as fast as they can", which means they've spent years debating whether or not they'll do it, and as far as I know they're currently in the "investigation" phase which will take years again. It's kinda funny, central banks are dinosaurs and know they have to do something, before they're too late and nobody wants them anymore. They also don't want to get rid of all their rich banker friends, so there's still a role for traditional bank accounts in their plans. And they want to add the ultimate control to their token. But none of it matters. It's just another form of inflationary fiat money, controlled by unelected people. Same old, same old.

If you bet often enough, losing becomes inevitable. Low odd games are incredibly profitable for the casino: you wager a lot so their house edge gets you.

The solution is simple. Update electrum to the latest version. Before doing this, backup your wallet. If the upgrade fails, it gives you the option to try something else (for instance export the private keys).

I hope by "obvious reasons," you mean illegal, because it most probably is. Laws vary from country to country, but I am almost certain that using somebody else's address without permission from the resident is illegal in so many countries. Yes, that's one of the reasons. And I assume that you'd also be using the name of the person living in that address since, well, you're keeping your identity unknown. This is worse. Although you're not using his/her name for any fraudulent purposes, I suppose this still falls under identity theft. That actually happens quite a lot here: someone orders something online, but at someone else's address. After delivery, they just go there and say they made a mistake with the house number. Many webshops allow you to pay later, and the receiving address will get the bill. I think I'd better ask for permission. You can't be anonymous if you ask permission.

No. I think you risk losing your funds. This isn't a brain wallet, how are you going to remember the random seed? The warp-site isn't the problem, your interpretation is. If you want to print a QR-code, why not use BIP38 encryption? I wouldn't show it off though, just like you don't leave a pile of cash on the table to impress visitors.

I emailed someone called Loycev on this but heard nothing. My email address isn't for contacting others (and i can't believe I have to explain this).

This reminded me of a graph: Luckily for the kids, here there are limits to crazy baby names.

Why would double spending be a problem? Do they accept zero confirmation deposits? If so, that's dumb. If not, they didn't risk anything from your double spent deposit.

Mycellium lacks basic functionality for hardware wallets: it can't verify the address on the hardware wallet itself, so malware (or bugs) can make you deposit to the wrong address.

If price increases make you happy, a drop in price will make you sad. Even after 7 years in Bitcoin, it still gets to be once in a while. But then I remember that HODLing paid off so far and I'll keep doing it.

It's still not working. It works again. I failed in copy/pasting on mobile.

Some changes have been made to bbcode so please update your signatures as soon as possible. I updated my signature 6 days ago when you posted it, and just updated it again. But now it's broken, see below. Please check it

Paper Wallet is very cheap and easy to make No it's not. Downloading a live Linux DVD, searching for a DVD burner, finding out how to boot from it, buying a printer with cable, getting your printer drivers to work without going online..... None of it is easy if you don't take shortcuts like printing from an online computer to a WiFi printer.

Zero. Excluding LoyceV, who may or may not have a real name. I sometimes wish I could meet people or order items, but I like my privacy too much for that. The annoying thing with privacy is you can't get it back once it's gone. I would not wish to associate any other name to the personality of users like LoyceV or o_e_l_e_o etc. I really wish I would have picked a cooler name though. I never expected to still be using my random (girls) name almost 8 years later!

Unless he has an e-mail notification when he receives a PM, it is unlikely that he will be of any help to the OP, given that he has not been active since July 29, 2022. I thought email notification for PMs is the default setting. It might work. But OP hasn't been here this year, so it looks like he just wanted to get it off his chest
