381  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 PlataØCrypto.io 🚀 - 1st Play to Earn x Provably Fair Crypto-Casino on: January 14, 2022, 10:10:06 PM
This is quite interesting.

How exactly is your site going to be different to everyone else's? There are plenty of casinos which have integrated NFTs and dividend programs on-chain.

Play-to-earn in the casino space is definitely not novel technology by any means even though it is all hyped up right now elsewhere in the Metaverse industry.

BTW, is the non-KYC policy a guarantee?
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 14, 2022, 09:26:52 PM
Golden State Warriors are having a really bad time these days. They won only once in their last five games. And they played two difficult games in a row recently. They lost both of them against Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks. And tonight, they have another difficult game against Chicago Bulls this time. It is an away game for GSW and they will aim to get a win finally. But Bulls have been playing very well so far. So I wouldn't be astonished if Bulls win this game too.

Klay is still playing on a minutes restriction, so don't be too surprised at these losses.

I think that once Klay truly integrates with the rest of GSW without disruption, and finds his role again, there will be absolutely no trouble for the Warriors to steamroll pretty much all the teams in the playoffs.

I still have them as the favourites to win the West right now.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any website without a dispute here? on: January 14, 2022, 09:11:08 PM
I guess I have seen disputes/complain against all the crypto casinos out there. Every day, in the scam accusation section, we have to new accusation thread against casinos. It even includes all the reputed casinos, new casinos. I mean none has an exception. I can't remember if there is a casino that never receive any accusation here in the scam accusation board; maybe betbtc.co is an exception which is closed now. Did you find these ridiculous? Did not a casino run properly? I believe there are issues from the side of the gamblers as well but you can't deny that casinos take advantage a lot of times.

There are a few consensus picks that you can't really go wrong with:
- Bitsler
- Stake
- Just-dice.

I guess you could argue that Stake has had its fair share of issues but that has mostly come in the form of complaints against voluntary self-exclusion, which is not necessarily something you would need to worry about if you are disciplined.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do Casinos ask for so much during withdrawal? on: January 14, 2022, 09:06:55 PM
Hello everyone, I have not played cryptocurrency casino but, have played slot casino games for quite a long time. However, I scroll through a couple of complaints from players time to time and the one that got my interest is the delayed withdrawal issues. Why is it that when a player wins and wants to withdraw their winning the casino will begin to ask for info like source of funds, KYC etc. But they careless about asking for those information when the player is losing money in the platform.

ANY IDEA?

There are two reasons:

- AML etc. only kicks in as due process if you are looking to withdraw; if you just lost all your money to the casino obviously you don't have a prospect of laundering money per se.
- The casino is greedy and wants to attract as client base as possible, and the way they can most effectively do that would be to allow deposits to come in without KYC but restrict all non-KYC withdrawals.

Truth is probably somewhere in between.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: US inflation jumped 7% in December as prices rise at rates unseen in decades on: January 13, 2022, 07:23:21 AM
The transitory narrative is slowly ousting itself.

Even with the depressed CPI figures, it should be clear to anyone that the dollar is losing its purchasing power, and fast.

Certainly not a good look for the Fed who aren't even considering raising rates that seriously at the moment. Seems like Powell is more concerned about the stock market rather than inflation.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting or casino? on: January 12, 2022, 10:51:45 PM
In this thread I share my opinion. I know 2 types of gambling. Sports and casino. I have both types experience. At first I started to play casino like roulette, dice, ludu. Roulette was my favourite casino table. One day I won 7k usd on roulette table. But I couldn't retain it. I lost all the usd in 10 minutes and day by day my lossing amount increased. Sometimes casino table was so tough. Whatever I bet all lost. No sequence maintained. If I won a day, I would loss 5 days at a stretch. It seemed all was fixed. I shifted to sports betting. I started to follow biggest football league like English premier League, la Liga, french Liga etc. Researched the teams statistics and placed bet. Gradually I covering my losses. What's your experience?

The main difference is twofold:

1) Sportsbetting is definitely way slower than regular casino games, so if you are impatient you should probably go with casino games instead.

2) You can actually potentially generate +EV through sportsbetting whether that is through arbitrage or tipstering, whereas there is no chance you can do the same with regular casino games like roulette.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting vs Fiat betting on: January 12, 2022, 10:25:52 PM
What is the best method to bet most especially if one is betting on football matches what is the best currency to bet with, using cryptocurrency to bet of using traditional paper money. Which one is more secured and fast for inline usage.

In terms of speed, crypto deposits/withdrawals are unbeatable.

Fiat sportsbetting often have long wait times for deposit especially when you're dealing with bank transfers.

However, I think that odds wise you are likely to get better odds on fiat betting exchanges like Betfair. It's not a big difference overall, but it still adds up over time.

And the Lakers lost again! lol the best recruiter in the looks like he's going to for a new talent coz their bigs are useless
Look, I confess the Lakers are surprising me in this season.
I would never have imagined that team with that roster would be having such a simple and weak regular season.
I confess that I created a lot of expectations with the Lakers this season, but i don't know...

I know that LAL got an interesting winning streak, but I don't know, if the team doesn't "wake up" and have a chemistry between the players from now on, they will hardly be able to advance in the playoffs.

I don't even think that they will make the playoffs at this rate.

LeBron is going to slow down in the latter half of the season for sure. They have exhausted him and the team around him is simply not helping too well.

Hopefully they make some major changes to the roster before the trade deadline, otherwise this roster is doomed.

Should I claim tokens myself?
Please give instructions on how to use NTF tokens?

390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 09, 2022, 09:01:39 PM
Nets couldn't have an easy win against Spurs today. It is still good for them to win by 121-119 after overtime. Spurs are not one of the fascinating teams of this season in fact but they still did a good job by making difficulties for Nets in this game. Harden and KD had the role to carry again and they did it successfully. I think that Harden was better as he made a double-double by 26 points and 12 assists. And if he was able to get 3 more rebounds, he would have made a triple-double.

I wonder if having Kyrie back with the team on and off is going to cause problems with their play. It seems like they struggle a bit without him, but at least they got the W.

Today’s big story though is obviously Klay Thompson’s return to the Warriors. It’s been a long time since the splash brothers have played together. I’m just hoping for a safe return and for Klay to nail that first big 3.

I think that the arena will absolutely explode when he hits his first shot.

Just don't expect too much though, he obviously still needs to get back to playing condition and it's definitely not easy having been out for 2+ years. But once he does he will propel the Warriors to the next level in the playoffs.

You can tell that he is itching though, and a lot of fans have been flooded with rumours of his return for quite a while now. Would be good to have it finally become reality.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where DeFi is headed on: January 07, 2022, 03:47:29 AM
I don't necessarily think that Steemit will have much to do with DeFi..?

But I do agree that cheaper fees for smart contract execution is a must. Right now it's unfeasible for anyone with less than $100k in capital to feasible access privileges of being an LP.

This is why other L1s are exploding right now, including FTM, SOL and AVAX. Until ETH can get its fees down to <$1 for a typical DeFi transaction, things are just not going to work out for retail investors in this space.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: January 06, 2022, 07:45:36 AM
On the other hand, actually things like this are not about gambling problems or anything else, but indeed there must be based on observations and see the good momentum there because of course we will not be random in choosing which coins, especially for short-term trading.
we of course analyze first and make a research so that at least when we enter into a trade even if it is a short-term trade but we get profits there
Most speculative assets have a spot trading, these will need your background research and chart analysis to get into a good position to buy in. But then the people who get their kick from the cheap thrills will not find this interesting at all because they need to wait for prices to rise and then sell. Hence exchanges came up with margin and leverage for a type of gambling on predictions.

It would not matter which asset you talk about, most have some sort of spot and margin types.

People who want to keep it safe, buy BTC for spot trading. Dont do altcoins, dont do margin and leverage trading. If you looking for gambling chances go to a casino but dont forget the risk associated with it. Among all crypto, I find BTC to be the safer one in terms of being decentralized and censorship-resistant.

Even with crypto spot (unleveraged trading) there are significant risks.

Vapourware, coins with crappy tokenomics and rug pulls are all too common at this stage.

Diversification is key to getting the best risk-adjusted returns, and that is probably one of the biggest pieces of wisdom that traditional finance courses teach that is still applicable to the crypto sphere.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Have we opened the bear season? on: January 06, 2022, 07:27:50 AM
Yes, good luck, I do not hesitate to say that we have definitely passed the bear period. As of now and for 20 days, everything is red!! Do you think this may have happened?

I personally think so.

I know that a lot of people are calling this a bear trap, but I think that we've breached through a lot of support levels and BTC is dumping hard below 2/3rds of its ATH, which is definitely a bearish indicator.

Might be a good time to take your stables and start DCAing back into cryptos though, perfect time to accumulate your bags.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 6 Rare Metaverse Coins Under $0.6 on: January 06, 2022, 06:46:43 AM
I personally don't think that any of these projects are going to survive long term.

Their valuations are simply way too inflated to be sustainable, and once this metaverse hype dies down they'll just be revealed as just another set of vapourware projects that used existing technology to hype up a buzzword.

Definitely not worth investing in anything other than Decentraland or Sandbox imo, stick with established metaverses since it's very hard to disrupt economies of scale in this area.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which one has a Ethereum-like potential? on: January 06, 2022, 06:40:20 AM
Hello,
Which one of the following coins has a Ethereum-like potential:

1- Terra
2- Avalanche
3- Polygon
4- Moonriver

Thank you.

Polygon doesn't have the potential of ETH just because it is literally built as a L2 of ETH.

However, I do see that AVAX has potential and LUNA definitely has potential as well.

AVAX is scalable and decentralized, while LUNA has great tokenomics with UST seeing a ton of adoption right now. I personally don't think that either of them will necessarily overtake ETH as the #1 altcoin though unless something goes drastically wrong with ETH.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you have a chance to become a VIP what casinos will those be on: January 06, 2022, 06:21:42 AM
Honestly, I'm not a VIP of any gambling sites I'm playing but every casino has perks and premium giveaways for their VIP, if I'm going to target one or two casinos for me to become a VIP what casinos will they be, named at least two casinos and your reasons.

Definitely Stake imho.

They have their dedicated VIP hosts and have been around for the longest time, so you are guaranteed to be treated the best if you are going to be a VIP.

Just don't expect to get more out of the VIP program than what you put in - after all, companies create programs to suck you in further.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 06, 2022, 06:07:38 AM
Quote
Gambling industry is on the move in the last years. Legalisation across Europe and USA has forged new empires, online gaming has received all the positive impacts from COVID confinements and it seems that is going to be plenty of consolidation in the future. What is your personal bet on the next big events in the betting industry?

100% need consolidation with the rules.

I think that the regulations around gambling are way too tight right now which is leading to more harm than good given that a lot of operators just go underground instead of comply with the legislation.

If there was actually an easy, cost effective way to comply with laws, then I'm sure that most businesses will be more than happy to get accreditation with the authorities.
398  Other / Off-topic / Re: Theranos and the limits of Hype on: January 05, 2022, 09:51:33 PM
Good to see that at least some justice is served.

In way too many instances vapourware or phantom companies that have no product are able to raise money pre-revenue. I think that is a symptom of an underlying problem, especially when most investors who put money into Theranos were large institutions with various connections.

Decentralising and democratising access to capital is absolutely crucial.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid crisis leaves Sri Lanka on brink of bankruptcy on: January 05, 2022, 02:28:56 AM
Exactly.

When you are born in entrench disadvantage, the only way that you are going to get out is a bit of luck that you get a citizenship/permanent residency in a more fortunate jurisdiction.

But hard work definitely plays a role in it, although it is only a necessary but not sufficient condition.
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting more bearish, what is the trigger? on: January 04, 2022, 10:57:58 AM
I think that mainly, it has to do with halving.

The bull market usually peaks 1 year after the halving and right now it's just around 1.5 years, which is on the tail end of the bull market.

So it's no surprise that money is rotating out of cryptos right now, especially after the crazy year that we've had last year with the runup in both retail and institutional investment into BTC.
