3941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stopped at Customs for Bitcoins on: June 12, 2012, 04:53:56 PM
I get shit stopped at the customs all the time and I never had to go there to collect it. I just email them what they ask and wait for the postman to bring it to my door.
This is the 21st century, you know?

But well, I can never give them a present when I do this, that's true lol I suppose they would have a problem if my packages arrived to my door with less stuff Tongue
3942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: June 12, 2012, 04:35:45 PM
uugh. let me out of this newbie box Smiley

Mining on my 7970 results in a rate of 591MHash/s
Blockexplorer shows transactions on the bitcoin network.
The bitcoin network acts as one large ledger, each transaction is recorded and every node on the network has a copy of this ledger since the network's inception.

Created a quick and dirty site to generate Bitcoin QR codes (with "accepted here" logo, etc)

http://qrbtc.co

Want to sell custom QR stickers someday as a side project. Wanted to post site in the projects forum.

Thanks!

You are whitelisted. Go post your site.

I beg to differ, for my sister's first husband owes over $100,000 to various entities and has been pounded by debt collectors for years decades. Guess how much they were able to get from him? Wait for...$0 USD or in BTC, as if you didn't see that coming.

~Bruno~

Wow. I'm surprised they didn't repo all of his trash. I've seen people get all their shit taken off them and auctioned off over a $10,000 debt.

For that to happen they would need to have shit to be taken Wink
3944  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - Verified rolls, up to 64,000x winning on: June 12, 2012, 04:30:37 PM
Since last night I'm waiting hours before I even know if I win or not.

One question: Can we use a sendmany transaction to bet in several numbers and save on transaction fees?

1 by 1 they all go down.
3946  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 12, 2012, 03:56:57 PM
Ofcourse it wasn't a PR problem. Did anyone asked them for money or sued them? As fast as it was reported it died.
I guess most of the persons who could give them a fight are too embarassed to admit they even use bitcoins, to begin with.
3947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Bitcoins being anonymous? on: June 12, 2012, 03:49:21 PM
You can trace the IP address identified with the address being sent to.. and therefore narrow down on the location the person is at.

That's one problem I can clearly identify with this system.  Therefore it's not wise to deal with illegal things since I'm certain it's still possible for the feds to track you down via the blockchain.

It's anonymous but not at the same time.

For you to be able a certain transaction came from a certain IP address you'd need a node connected to ALL other nodes.
So far the only IP you know was the first one to relay it to you or to someone else, you can never be certain that IP was the one to send the transaction.
I send a lot of transactions and never saw my IP address connected to them in any way. Not that it would matter much as all I need is to restart my router to get a new one.

He could use https://vanitypooltest.appspot.com/
But it still needs to get out of beta. I doubt someone will do the job for him just to get paid with testnet coins lol

Edit:  To be clear, I'm not defending that practice, I'm simply pointing out that it doesn't seem to be uncommon and it's apparently enforceable.

diagnosis: nonsense
treatment: contract law 101

Then I'm at a loss for why bitcoinica didn't go after Linode?  I'm sincerely asking here, I don't know much about contract law.  Was it perhaps because the entirety of that theft was in bitcoins and bitcoins aren't recognized as having any value (I don't know how that would be the case)?

Bitcoinica got $350k stolen from them in 2 different hacks and they didn't report it to the police. What are you expecting? Miracles?
Add to it that those thefts, even without the theft of the bitcoins, would be a crime of computer intrusion and it's even more surprising that none of them were reported to any authority.

If they had been reported, do you think that Linode could have been held responsible for the value lost despite that their ToS states that they aren't?

I bet the PR nightmare would make them reach a deal and pay long before it went to trial.

I think you missed the part where he said the closest bitinstant deposit place was at a 45 min. drive from him lol

3952  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you wish you could pay for with BTC? on: June 12, 2012, 02:37:24 AM
Android apps. <--- This would be a winner, Android App Store that only accepted Bitcoin.
I find the whole credit card on file model of all App Stores to be very convoluted and refuse to install paid apps because of that.
Apple is even worse, one wrong click and you just paid $20 for a useless app without even noticing lol

can you stop put down no my idea

WHAT???
I swear that I can understand what naima says better than I can understand you, and naima uses google translator.

I just ran it through English>Romanian>Icelandic>English on Google translate and it comes out virtually unchanged.

Ofcourse. Google translator only messes well constructed sentences lol

It's all very scary since there are absolutely no laws or regulations managing anything pirate is doing.

What did you expect to freedom tastes like? Something warm, softy, sweet and pink?
Freedom sucks with out the law, police, governments and the army  Roll Eyes

I agree and I have no quarrel with that but I am just very much confused with why there is so much trust flying around for this person when I've yet to see what he's done to deserve any of it.

Don't tell me you never heard that the best way to get many friends is to pay for them?

The cops already plant DNA on crime scenes.

And does it grow?  Tongue
3957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do you use Bitcoins? on: June 11, 2012, 11:31:30 PM
I use it to anonymously scam the mugu over the copper lines.

Much more efficient than USPS and Western Union mind you !

You just don't get enough, do you, bulanula?

Stay away from him, kids!
3958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Bitcoins being anonymous? on: June 11, 2012, 11:19:12 PM
This coming from a man that sells bitcoin for paypal.
Do you guys see the irony in it the same way i see it? Smiley

I really don't care much anymore about the anonymity of most of my bitcoin transactions, nor do I try to hide that I use Bitcoin on a daily basis.
I'll fight for my right to use it if I have to.
