I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if it's already been brought up... but has anyone considered he's invested in one of the most epic Ponzi's of all time, MMM? If so, that could explain how he's able to pay what's he paying.
Didn't that one colapsed already? I remember reading something about it going bust.

Try and do a disk defrag.
When I switched to ubuntu completely was because Bitcoin killed my HDD on windows. The blockchain got fragmented because Bitcoin was always running and the auto-defrag wouldn't touch the blockchain. When I recovered the blockchain from the damaged HDD it copied fast until it reached 500MB, which was the part that wasn't fragmented. The rest of it took almost 24hrs to copy, little piece by little piece.

OK, it's done. Tell me if there are any problems.
I had to clear my browser's (Chrome) cookies in order to log in back again. Was it to be expected? Didn't happen to me on Firefox, so I would say no. Probably a browser quirk only. It happens sometimes.

everything seems to be back, except my avatar URL is still in maintenance mode. nm, just had to do a hard refresh on that specific URL.
Same here, and how do you do that? right-click on your broken image where the avatar should be and choose "Open image in a new tab/window". go to that new tab/window and hold down shift while you click refresh. go back to the forum page and hit refresh. these instructions work in windows on chrome. CTRL+F5 also works

But you are right, the ones who gave me significant amounts all asked for an address to send it to and I pointed them to the address on my sig Dont you think you looked alittle 'cheap' after that? I mean it is one thing to give your bitcoin address on a good quality paper and clear print card like people did in good'ol days and another thing to just put it after your every thought. P.S. No offence please, I know I am touching feelings part of human being, but we cant talk about it without getting it involved. No. I don't feel cheap. And if you look at the address on blockchain.info you'll see I've received some significant amounts in there. Mostly because I really helped someone out, not because they liked my posts for their literary value.

I agree. Very tacky to have a BTC address in your sig. If someone was so damn impressed with your post that they just had to send you money, they'd let you know Plus, I've been curious if anyone ever HAS gotten a "tip" via an addy in their sig. As a matter of fact I have received tips and I still don't have a clue who sent them. But you are right, the ones who gave me significant amounts all asked for an address to send it to and I pointed them to the address on my sig Now that I talk about this I remember there is still some guy who promised $20 in BTC for something, which I did and he used and still haven't sent the money. Time for a reminder And I'm already losing. $20 in BTC was more BTC last week that it is now lol

Oh, was it? Then, Mr. American, who has English for 1st language, I would advise you to be clear on what you write. Or are you so blind in rage that you can't formulate your complaint properly? I bet the cops will love that!
Oh god, who made you a mod ? Is there a mod in here? Where? Now for real, joking aside: You disagree that someone who wishes to come here and say that someone else scammed him should post accurate data about what happened? Or didn't you notice people questioning the OP about the $5 value he used? I may be in the wrong by making fun of him because he was really scammed, but if he wants to accuse someone he better post something that people will understand and detail it the best he can or else we're just opening the door to any malicious user to create an alt and badmouth someone they don't like. Would you like it if it happened to any of your services?

I just bought some cheap bonds at 1 BTC, but decision point comes later at the end of this month. The question is if this trust account setup is not the last attempt to lure investors and take/steal as much BTC as possible before pirate shuts down the operation and defaults Dude, he's not going anywhere. Pirates here to make this community a better place. STFU The less people who deposit the better. maybe he'll have to raise the interest rates

If he's a scammer, how come he isn't jailed yet? back in Bruce Wagner's day I don't have a clue, but now people call it "The Shakaru Effect".

from what pirate has said, he's doing off the books exchanges with large cash investors.
But, AFAIK, Silk Road only holds BTC... Where does the cash fits on Silk Road mixing system?

The funny thing is that the project GPUGRID has a sub-project called Donate@Home that is mining to donate money to the project. So while the SETI guys spam idiocies about bitcoin, another project, with more clever people, use it to gain money and donations for the project I'm still all in for a BOINC bitcoin mining project that bundles everything that's needed to mine on P2Pool for example, but that's something different and would just use the BOINC client. The only difference would be that it would be easier to schedule some other projects on your mining farm as well. It exists, Donate@Home http://donateathome.org/19b62wRL6hGEWa1bLbkdjaiWvZm1C56XuL is their address Received BTC: 2 355.39995 Not bad for non-believers...

I ordered 1 for a friend and 1 for me June 23 and they arrived yesterday.
Only one complaint I have: I would prefer less 5 pages and smaller letters. The only pages where the font had an acceptable size for a magazine was in the success/fail article. All other pages had huge letters imposible to read because it made the paragraphs look enormous.

I still do... I got an email a couple days back who said that "I would have sex like a donkey" lol

Spammed enough by now, so the whitelist request is obsolete now. But can you migrate my thread on `IsStandard` to Development & Technical Discussion? It's only in Newbie since I didn't have enough posts at the time. Or should I repost it there? You can move it yourself, but yes, I'll do it, no problem.

I doubt this will happen. It will soon return $5 due to speculation imo. The bubble will burst.
Nope. We won't see $5 ever again, count on it. I don't think it's unlikely to see $5s again. That bear is affecting your judgement

I needed logo for the forum that I could use on my site. So I made this and thought I'd see what other's thought of it. If you can use it, you can download it. Why the bottle cap? You callin' us drunk? lol
