Its a free market anyway, so you don't "harm" anyone, because entering those markets was risky to begin with. It's not like you suddenly cheated someone.

So sad that JD stopped the BTC currency. There is a big void now and those shady suckers exploit that and apparently people trust everyone :/
JD has CLAM now, indeed is not the same as with btc yet, but give it time CLAM is still pretty new. I think JD with clams is not that bad i like it. Sure, but my point was that you can't invest your BTC there. And most people want to invest BTC, not sell BTC and invest then.

So much for the actual topic of the thread ... sigh
Hfleer, how about changing the topic of this thread and starting a new one?
I don't follow your argument. What is wrong with this thread? Nobody has written about your topic. Well, reserve currency doesn't exclude its use as currency in the common sense. All past reserve currencies were directly national currencies.

Think of the confirmations as a clearing house. Everything you do before is like off-chain and trust based, after the clearinghouse was at it, you know that its safe.
If you have some trust 0conf is no problem.
LOL, but viacoin lacks of liquidity, marketing, seldom people use that, so there is no advantage on clearing house at all. Quick confirmation time is important, but DRK and Doge is not slower than viacoin, and they two have much better liquidity and larger trading volume. So viacoin doesn't have any advantages, clearing house is not a good choice, although I had tons of viacoins some months ago. Good lord.... When I talk about clearing house I mean that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clearing_house_%28finance%29not a shitcoin

BTER's SSL cert has expired.. very professional. Saw that too. Had to chuckle. How does this even happen? I'm just speculating but they could have bought it from a non-authorized vendor for a fraction of what it's normally sold. Those vendors don't stay around for too long. that might be. They don't have a trusted certificate provider and don't provide identification information

Consider engraving your private key into a block of tungsten With a melting point of 3422 °C if would be the only thing left if your house burn down. And with approximate same density as gold, the block is rather heavy to pick up and run away with. and therefore super easy to hide :p

@OP, your comments are extremely result oriented. Just because the result is as predicted, doesn#t make the assumption right.
correlation=/= causation.
As RodeoX said, MTgox and other factors led to a price that was substantially inflated, we now saw the retraction to the price that was more inline with the supply/demand.

Why are people concerned about >100 year storage. you can just renew your metal wallet/paper wallets once they lose some of their qualities.

Its amazing what people think that traders with bigger bankrolls do....
If someone has enough money to move a market, does he really need to be intelligent and superior to all other market participants? I really doubt it...
Many whales beat the market because they can do off-exchange trades for huge amounts. Kind of a dark lquidity pool they can tap into, if they want.

No. If you want to receive tips, all you need to do here is post your address at your profile or signature. So ChangeTip would be useless and inconvenient here (because you would need to register with them to receive the bitcoins)
There is now even 2 places to add the addresses in the profile

The problem with such lists is that they are outdated EXTREMELY fast. So how often do you plan to upgrade those?
tried the first one, gave me already "insufficient funds"...
That was fast It wasnt giving that to me, for me it worked fine, cashed out directly to faucetbox.... Maybe it was just a display error he received, anyway even if it did gave that, there are plenty of other faucets on the list that work. 1 or 2 bad apples doesnt mean that the whole list is wrong. Thats true, it just made my point clear very fast. There are no longterm stable faucets.

Wie siehst das ganze denn rechtlich aus? Localbitcoins hat ja nicht ohne grund Deutschland geblockt.

I don't understand how these types of things are safe when the person who makes them has access to your private keys.
No they don't. Only you have access to your private key, you are the one who assembles the letters in order, not the manufacturer. One question with that. BTC addresses have checksums. Don't private keys too? How do you do that manually than?

Technically you can spend unconfirmed coins, but some clients does not allow you to use unconfirmed coins. So, it's up to your client. Of course, it is safe to wait for at least one confirmation to be sure.
EDIT: Mycelium does not allow you to spend unconfirmed coins, while Electrum does. Haven't tested core/qt or other clients.
QT clients don't allow it. But electrum and mytrezor.com and blockchain.info do. if you send unconfirmed coins to a certain address i assume it would need 2 confirmations to get 1 confirmation on each address? As Gisado said, bitcoin allows valid transacitons to be chained and being included in a single block. I think the only limitation is, that all former transaction need to be confirmed in the same block.

Bitmixer.io sounds like a nice opportunity, but their investment is full and they don't accept no new deposits.
