How could Bitcoin be a Ponzi scheme?
That's so idiotic you had me laughing there, buddy. Saying any currency is a Ponzi. Classical, man.
It just goes down and down. I am out of 30% of my investment. This technology sucks.

You guys fucked me over big time, convinving me that this was real. It was a fad all along. Ponzi scheme at its best!

Sold all at 550-510 levels. I am out. Done. Bye.

(would a retard say)

I know what you are thinking.

-img snip-

LOL.

Do you realize that he's trolling hard?

I was stating what was going through OP's mind right now. OP thinks that Bitcoin is done for so they have joined the forces of the buttcoiners. OP thinks that if they hold it will just make them loss more.

Are you kididng me? WHY DON'T THE FK READ YOU WHAT I WRITE?
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: bter hacked and lost 50m nxt on: August 17, 2014, 05:04:38 AM
Looks like this could end with a "happy" ending.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 17, 2014, 04:59:11 AM
Finally some good NXT news. If they made a good deal, then BTER will lose only around 1000 BTC + a shitload of customers.

Much better than 3000 BTC and all customers Wink
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: No more below 500$ Next Stop 1(0)0000$! on: August 17, 2014, 04:49:33 AM
Not saying we won't see some dips but I'm liking how the market is handling this stagnation in the market recently I expect there will be some serious buying in the coming months.  What the price is doing now I think is very healthy IMO.

yes, even the bitfinex flashcrash wasn't as severe as in the past. the markets are maturing very fast!

this has been a pretty slow grind down. while i hope that the bottom is in, bouncing where we did (old support + heavily oversold) is not a surprise. but it doesn't mean this is over. i know that we may not have even see the panic hit yet.

just best not to deny the possibilities....

Sure but last year, such a drop would have triggered much bigger panic than it did today. People finally start to realize that Bitcoin has a treshold of value that all people agree that it is "time" to rebuy some.

Even bears would agree that 300 and lower is very unrealistic Wink
267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethereum KILLING BITCOIN! on: August 17, 2014, 04:47:35 AM
The question is not if ethereum is good/bad, the question is why do people give them money for nothing really in return. They will never be able to monatariaze their code because of the open source function. If they are too expensive to use, someone will fork it. If it is too cheap, the ethers will be nearly worthless + inflation Wink
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin TANKING...opinions on future outlook both nearterm and long term? on: August 17, 2014, 04:27:31 AM
PANIC SELL!!!

SOMEONE JUST SOLD 300,000 LITECOIN.

OMG OMG

Your own little world must be fascinating. So many exiting things are happening.

my investment

This is one of the big problems I see. Lots of people think Bitcoin is some kind of "investment scheme", it's not. Would you "invest" your money by depositing it into PayPal? Bitcoin is a replacement for PayPal. Use it just like you would PayPal. If you need to accept or send a payment to/from someone over the internet, then use bitcoin. Buying bitcoins to speculate on the value is gambling, not investing.

ps. I'm not blind, I was just speaking generally as I continually hear people refer to their bitcoin "investment".

In this (bad) analogy, Bitcoin is akin to owning stock in PayPal pre-IPO.  So yes.  I would invest.

-B-

Yep, that is a good comparison. We own a share in the most efficient payment network in the world!

273  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceBitco.in | BE THE BANK ! | 1% House Edge | 2000+ BTC BANKROLL | INSTANT! on: August 15, 2014, 01:29:27 AM
Allowing people to borrow on margin seems like an interesting idea. It certainly would set dicebitco.in apart from the others.

Giving people the freedom to invest with a 10X Kelly seems like the way to go, but I fear that this could go bad so fast. It would "artificially" inflate the bankroll and max bet.
However, I wouldn't mind actually letting people really borrow from me for a percentage if the "auto-buy-to-cover" feature were enabled.

They're not really borrowing from anyone - they never get access to the borrowed coins - they're only allowed to invest them, and only for as long as they are able to pay back the loan - so there's never any chance that they will default on the loan, and so there's never a need to hold any collateral.

In effect the lending means the site is operating a fractional reserve operation, which many will dislike the thought of. But I think in this case it is sound to do so. There's no chance of a "run on the bank" causing problems, since all loans are automatically secured by restricting what the lender can do with their loaned coins.

Sudden large changes in the maximum profit per bet would probably result from this feature, and were another reason I didn't love the idea.

When you say it could "go bad fast", mostly that only applies to people who over-borrow, don't you think? It wouldn't go bad for the site itself.

One thing that was pointed out when I brought this up in the past is that investing at huge leverage is effectively a big gamble. No sane investor would do it, but guess who would... that's right - gamblers would! It's a way of gambling with high variance and a positive expectation. So maybe offering such a feature would turn the whale gamblers into whale investors, and we'd be left without any whale gamblers.

I still think it's an interesting idea though.

What if 100 highrollers collude and bet at the exact moment with max profit bets? (lets ignore that they could yield a net loss)

How would losses over the "margin" be handled?
274  Economy / Speculation / Re: "I wish I had bought more Bitcoin when it was cheaper..." on: August 15, 2014, 01:23:08 AM
Slowly decreasing markets aren't good for human minds. They hate it! But that is how the adoptions circles of Bitcoin work!

That is also why people rather play martingale themself, than being on the bank side of things Wink
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Geez! You know this chart, guys?! on: August 15, 2014, 01:20:55 AM
I find it funny that people always try to force a "system" or a "scheme" on things. Fact is that things do no repeat itself.
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do You now something about bitcoin price? on: August 15, 2014, 01:17:48 AM
Bitcoin got hacked and someone created 1 Million new coins that are now continuously sold on the exchanges.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 15, 2014, 01:17:04 AM
As far as I can tell there are already a couple markets that have filled the void left behind by the Silk Road.
I don't mean a copy of the original Silk Road.

I mean a marketplace that improves on existing marketplaces to the same extent to which Silk Road was an improvement over buying drugs on the street.

It could be anything, but it should be something that will get people using Bitcoin because otherwise something they want to do would be impossible.

Decentralised market placed like Dark Makret, bazar or NXT marketplace will be a big part of helping the adoption. Imagine one of those services getting as big as ebay or craigslist. The coverage would be enourmous.

I think I have to disagree there.

Sure, bitcoin in itself shouldn't be used to "invest" but it is an inevital consequence of the fact that SOMEONE needs to hold all BTC at all time. This is different to FIAT that supply can be manipulated by an authority. So bitcoin can't only be used for currency by design.

That leads to a big advantage. As apposed to FIAT, Bitcoin is an excellent Store of value. While fiat will have a very high COMPOUNDED inflation rate, bitcoins inflation rate is predetermined and nocompounding, but rather decreasing till infinetisemal small inflation.

In conclusion: Someone must see Bitcoin as investment, otherwise the whole technologie wouldn't be able to serve its purpose as store of value and currency.
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 15, 2014, 01:09:44 AM
If you just enter a bitcoin position just now, the lower price is good because of 2 effects:

- You bought lower (thanks, caption obv)
- The 3600 coins that are dumped daily due to miners, now need less FIAT currency to get absorbed. So if nothing has changed about the cashflows moving in/out of BTC, then this is a good longterm effect on your investment.!
280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cheap BTC, get in now if not already on board! on: August 15, 2014, 01:04:09 AM
Why do you think Bitcoin will rise to $1000? Roll Eyes

why do you think it won't ever again?

I don't think it won't ever again though :p
I'm just a bit pessismistic, looking back at Dell's Bitcoin adoption, it doesn't affect the price too much.

And in the big picture of things, Dell is such a big thing?

How much of the worlds economy, do you think, is due to dells existence?
