That's too bad, the site never got a chance to really take off. I've been to it shopping a few times, but they didn't have what I was looking for. Would've been really cool if it became a significant competitor to E-bay.

Quite a turn of events for this. Luckily I've never been one to trust web wallets.

Downloaded and tried this out for a bit a few days ago. Plan to make some real trades eventually to see if it works out better for me than some of the other options.

Great site, looks pro. Is there any way to sell short?

Which I immediately paid back to Seal. Please let me back in, I only left for a day and made the dumb mistake being tempted by TradeFortress' campaign which bombed immediately after I joined. It would suck if that would exclude me. Wow, what timing Yea, he didn't pick the best day. If Bitcoin keeps skyrocketing will be interesting to see how much the original payments in the thread were worth / week.

This site works well for viewing price charts, have been using for a while. Recently noticed it has many different exchanges. Mt-gox was at one time the only exchange to look at, that has definitely changed permanently.

It would be pretty crazy. I know I wouldn't ask for physical cash in the mail for sure. But how much cash do you really need to carry around anyway.

I'm compiling a list for a project of mine, the information seems to be very spread out and the wiki is not really up to date either, anyone is welcome to reply to this thread if they got something to share. thanks! here's what I have so far. Meze Grill - 934 8th Avenue New York NY 10019 Hudson Eatery - 601 West 57th Street New York NY 10001 O’Crepe - 147 Front Street Brooklyn NY 12001 OnlyOneTV, Home of the Bitcoin Show - 290 5th Ave New York NY 10001 Little Shop of Hardware - 3252 Keswick Rd, Baltimore, MD 21211 See http://bitnavigator.infocheers. This is a nice idea, we should support some of these businesses that accept Bitcoin.

Work, trade, invest, and always looking for more ways.

Looks like a correction after the huge price explosion, not sure if it corrects a bit lower or heads back up from here. I am watching it closely though.

Btc-e has been around for a while. Why have they still not figured out reasonable ways for someone to deposit USD.

I guess but why would you want to purchase a Certacoin certificate for cash if it is only worth that value in cash. To me it really makes no sense and was designed to lock in instant value into your Bitcoin and later be redeemed for cash.
Just if you could exchange it for BTC at that point, as an alternative to other methods.

Always wanted to try one of these. Is it safe/possible to vaporize other substances in any of your pieces?

You mean that they didn't include any transaction fees?

Have been playing this game a little. Seems interesting so far, haven't explored much outside of building yet. I like the background noise, peaceful.

Well don't think anyone would like to be a tree.
If I could choose which type and where, I'd love to be a tree. Well enjoy then I guess. Would be pretty much the same as being dead IMO though.

I'm not arguing humanity's potential threat to its own continuing survival. Who would? I'm a huge Sagan fan, and that was more important to him than neutering pets was to Bob Barker.
My point was that we are more evolutionarily advanced than any other species specifically due to our exclusive ability to intelligently alter our own course of evolution. I've made that point.
And, yes, civilizations have come and gone. So far, our species hasn't. The entire argument is really a moot point. I don't know about you, but I'd rather belong to a species capable of self-awareness, even if it ends up being an evolutionary cul-de-sac, than a mindless species that survives for millions of years.
Well don't think anyone would like to be a tree. I'll read back the posts to see what you're saying, but I think we're considered more advanced because we're more intelligent which affords us a number of exclusive abilities, of which the ability to alter our own course of evolution doesn't stick out as the sole reason for us to be considered more advanced.

Because merchants benefits form near zero transaction costs of bitcoin and zero fraud risk, the reputable and competitive merchant must reduce the price (about 5%) on items paid in bitcoin. Given the hassle and cost of acquiring bitcoins, zero premium is still an uneconomic choice for the consumer. This lack of economic benefit is the sole barrier preventing bitcoin from becoming the glorious currency it should be. We aim to keep the fee low enough so that it's always cheaper for Spenders to replaced spent coins from exchanges in order to create a deep market for Buyers.
By fee do you mean the discount the Spenders get off retail cost of item? When you say Merchant must reduce price on items paid in bitcoin, since the actual Amazon Merchants will be receiving cash from the Buyer, do you mean the discount will come from the amount of Bitcoin the Buyer receives?
