We need to go back to CPU mining... ever since those GPU's came all we have gotten is centralization and put the power in the hands of the rich...  Roll Eyes

Wouldn't the rich just buy a bunch of cpu farms if thats the case?

Damn rich people, always spoiling everything...  I guess that's why we can't have nice things

Agreed!!!  But then Intel will release their I9!!

Same as all the other new miners Bitmain and others have released.

Only time will tell!!!
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 22, 2018, 01:25:36 PM
It's already happening with the Cryptonight algo, and in July it happens with ETHASH.  Baikal has made inroads into other algos (but not really an ASIC).  I think soon nothing will be ASIC resistant.  Like I said Bitmain has proved now that they can build a miner for ASIC resistant algos.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 22, 2018, 01:13:13 PM
Why are we arguing about ASICs vs. GPUs in this thread, it's about the Z9, I have 3 on order and can't wait for them to come in so I can fire them up!!
407  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: May 22, 2018, 11:11:11 AM
Bitmain, Cannon and the rest build miners for one reason, to make money.  Then again, every company builds things to make money.  None of them have our best interest at heart, they are all in it for the money.

ROFL...  Sounds like FPGA's and GPU's are the way to go for now.  Especially, FPGA's.

Buying ASIC"s specific to one thing is only limiting one's self.  Best to go FPGA.

Once they get them out in mass I agree.

+1

SENT YOU A MERIT.

Woo Hoo!!!  Like I said before, I have had GPU rigs, and ASICs.  Problem I have is I like to turn and burn them.  I still have 1 small GPU rig running (4 290X's).  I'm waiting for my X9s to come in.  Run them for a while and flip them.  And yes, I have a collection of doorstops as well.  4 Gridseed blades stacked up on the desk.  They are 5 years old and have ROI'ed many times over.

No one has mentioned a group that really wants ASICs to hit the market for all algos, and that is the gamers.  They have been bitching about the prices of GPUs going higher and higher because of miners.

I have been through it all, GPUs, Gridseed blades, Antminers, more GPUs, and on and on.  My son, who is a gamer has been doing nothing but bitching about the high price of GPUs, so he is pro ASIC.

As I said before, it's clear that Bitmain can now produce an ASIC for any algo.  No one is complaining about Baikal miners, why because they are not Bitmain.  But yet they are multi-algo miners.

Just watch, if there is another algo with a high value coin attached to it, there will be an ASIC for it.  Now you have FPGAs coming out that can mine any algo.  What are the pro GPU people going to do then?
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: May 21, 2018, 06:05:17 PM
yes i realised that after i posted. I do not wish for miners to get bruised either, but bitmain would compensate as they always do, also would ruin their reputation bigtime so i do not know why you think it wouldnt hurt them.

Because miners are always looking for a way to make a buck.  If they build them, we will buy!!

They have shown they can build an asic for any algo.  I think none are safe, new also, no problem, new asic.

on a sidenote , their ethereum miner was launched at 800 dollars, nice profit for them, then vitalik announced there would be no fork and within hours the price shot up to close to 2000 dollars, fucking greedy wankers. I'd absolutely love it if they decided to fork rendering this machine worthless.

That's right fuck the people who bought the miners, it would do nothing to BitMain.   Yes, I bought a few units at $800.  Figured what the hell.  But for anyone to wish they become worthless is a very crappy human being.  That would be like me saying I hope every GPU catches on fire and burns every miners house down.  I wouldn't do that, I hope every miner makes money.  You sir are nothing other than a fucktard.

413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 21, 2018, 01:00:36 PM
How you like this announcement, BITMAIN?   ROFL....

Can anyone pls comment on official ZEN statement on ASICs and changing algo to ASICs resistant, but in a short quick way.
whats the TLDR version?

Thanks.
Potential Equihash Algorithm Change Preparation

Modifying ZenCash to use Equihash-144-5 is doable, and the software development team has started identifying the specific work that would need to be done in order to create and test this change. It would be a Hard Fork change, and for optimal success of the Hard Fork, it would be best to implement such a proposed change as quickly as reasonably possible before too many ASIC miners take over the hashrate of ZenCash.

https://blog.zencash.com/zencash-statement-on-potential-equihash-algorithm-change/?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=mining&utm_campaign=re+bitmain

In theory all the Z9's are already running and have been counted in the hashrate.  That's what everyone says, that they have been running for months.  So why are the DEVs getting their panties in a bunch?  When Batch 1 is released it shouldn't raise the hashrate at all correct?  It's batches after that we have to worry about.

Also, if they change the algo, I don't think it will take long for BitMain to release a new miner.  They seem to have building miners for GPU only coins down, and it they don't Baikal will.

Hello,
I found a block on Thursday (on solo.ckpool.org:3333) !
I would like to know how much time it takes to receive the block reward ?

Thanks!

When you do find a block, you will receive it instantly

But last block solved here on solock pool was on April 21
and nothing as now  Cool

NO it take confirmations just like pool mining

Yes, but it's in your wallet.

No you haven't.

I got A:1 in the miner, 0 rejected and 0 errors.
How to check/track further ?

What are you mining with?  A BitMain miner says BLOCK=  ?

Hello everyone I'm following this coin recently. I would like to know the future of this coin. How come all exchanges are blocked? will the transfers in the exchanges be released?

Is never has been a future for this coin, there never will be one either.  Read the post!!

thanks which post?

This one...  Go back 20-30 pages and catch up

I'm sure the scammer DEVs (who still hold 2 million coins) can't wait to see this on any exchange that will list it!!

Hello I hear its good ICO
I really love it

Dude, did you see the date of the last post? This thread was buried already. What ICO is good if the project wasn't successful? Huh

A newbie looking for merit...
