But now consider compounding interest: - You receive 100,000,000 PEEP and keep your wallet running (or at least let it run for a bit every day or two) - Your initial daily interest is roughly 1/365th of your principal (about 273k PEEP) per day, BUT, because you are staking regularly, you also earn interest on the interest. Your balance grows exponentially. - Balance after 1 year: 270m PEEP - Balance after 2 years: 732m PEEP - Balance after 3 years: 1989m PEEP (nearly 20 times your original balance) ...and so on year after year, with the balance increasing by around 2.7 times per year. Because of this exponential explosion the effective returns become higher as time goes by. ...like really, really, ridiculously high (100 million PEEP left alone for 5 years turns into 14 billion PEEP), which is probably going to devalue the coin further. The only problem I see with letting the coin continue is that it is doing nothing but putting $$$ in the DEVs pocket. Just because he is dumping now, you know he's sitting on billions of Peeps. The only way this coin will ever get off the ground is to restart it from scratch.
Somewhat agree, but also somewhat disagree. A few days ago with huge sell walls at 1 satoshi it seemed like a lost cause (39b PEEP @0.00000001 = 390 BTC for the dev!) but due to the recent price dips you can, if you're patient enough, acquire a couple of billion PEEP (nearly 5% of the total supply) by spending something like 0.1 BTC. The more you buy (cheaply) or mine, the less relevant the dev's remaining stash becomes. Think long term, big picture. I like to lend my support to "distressed" coins (which often have technical issues and have been abandoned by the dev), so I've decided to put some work into this one. DONE:- Added new permanent node. There's now 3 of mine on dedicated 24/7 servers. These are hard coded into the new client. IN PROGRESS:- Finishing up compiling client with newer libraries. Very fiddly and tedious because the code will not compile with newer versions of some of the libraries, so I'm having to experiment with different versions. TO DO:- Web page with a basic description of the coin's dotted history, and a FAQ about its current status. - Possible web-based giveaway to stimulate interest and get clients staking. - Staking bonuses - a bot that sends a bonus when it sees an address stake. This encourages people to hold rather than just dump immediately, at least in the short term. The dev created this coin with a new username peepcoin. Did it not occur to you that almightyruler may be the dev? If it could be proven that would be interesting. I have to admit, this tread has been very entertaining!! |

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 (use this if you are mining on the same machine your wallet it on)
rpcuser=username (whatever you want your username to be)
rpcpassword=password (Whatever you want your password to be)
Do you have something that will mine? (an asic miner, a high end GPU)??
This coin uses the scrypt algo, so any litecoin tutorial will give you and idea of what to do.
Why do I have to add my username and password and the port and all that in my wallet .conf file ? I know miner must be 127.0.0.1 because that is the local computer IP address. Why must it be in my wallet .conf too. Because when you set up your miner you need a user and password. If you are just using it to sync (the addnodes), don't worry about it. So i need the wallet and the wallet must have the username password . Is this for solo mining or do I also have to have it set like that for pool mining. I ask since I want to know what to do with other coin wallets as well. You are knowledable and helpful.  That is only for solo mining, being there are no pools, for this worthless coin the conf file is really for the addnodes to sync the wallet. |

One solution to the problem,.. ask the original dev to burn part of his coins, billions of coin lurking around is a ticking timebomb.
Like that will F'ing happen. He's in it for the $$$ anything we do to keep this coin alive is money in his pocket. |

I would much rather see us start over, bend the old DEV over and hit him where it hurts, this wallet!! The more we promote the coin, the more people buy the coin the more the old DEV makes. That's WRONG!!! |

More like Dev running quickly......away lol I think dev just ngesot The DEV is gone, he's dumping the pre-mine to get everything he can from the pig. Before this coin goes anywhere (I don't think it will) we would have the burn through the DEVs billions of coins. |

I have hosting space that can be used, just need to get a new domain name. Shall we start the keep peep coin alive moment?  yes that is funny Well lets do it then, what we going to call the website? Maybe my 65m peeps will have some value lol Problem with that is before any Peeps have value we would have to burn through the billions the DEV still holds. |

I still haven't received my coins. Did anyone takeover this project? Did you talk with the dev about the take over? A takeover can make this coin go good.
If you want your coins take 100 DOGE and you can buy them. As far as talking to the DEV, he has made his money and still is trying to dump the premine. |

Well I could always turn off my miner and see what happens to the blockchain. I think I'm holding the chain up with my G-Blades mining. Every time I get a bunch of Peeps I send them and undercut the DEVs DOGE price. I think the last batch I made 1200 DOGE!!
