401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: meta is the future ???? on: January 04, 2022, 08:53:31 AM
Right now all of the platforms that are developing metaverse technology are independent of one another.

Whether or not there will be a unifying presence in the crypto space for all metaverse projects is yet to be seen, but Decentraland seems to be one of the prominent choices for that.

Facebook's metaverse itself I think wouldn't really be investable given that it would be centralized and you'd have to buy shares, but it does have potential as well and will compete against decentralized alternatives.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2022 Shiba Inu (SHIB Token) reaches 0.1 DOGE? on: January 04, 2022, 07:56:09 AM
There is a possibility in my opinion.

DOGE could crash to where it started a couple of years before (which is actually somewhat probable, imho) and SHIB may experience a second round of pumps that take it further than DOGE ever did in terms of market cap.

In that case, is a 0.1 DOGE SHIB possible? Potentially. But even then it is unlikely given how much growth needs to be experienced by the token.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with a potential like the Ethereum. on: January 04, 2022, 04:21:43 AM
Hello, Can anybody appear me a list of a few coins with a great potential just like the Ethereum? Thank you.

I would say that you'd have to look at some riskier plays like Solana.

I personally am not a big fan of Solana because of their issues with network being down hours at a time etc., but if they can fix these things and become more decentralized then they do have a lot of potential going forward.

A lot of people are hyping up MATIC and other L2s but at the end of the day they will only be as big as the L1 that they build on.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse isn’t ‘compelling’ and Web3 ‘more marketing than reality’ - Elon Musk on: January 04, 2022, 04:12:40 AM
Completely agree.

NFTs, Metaverse and Web3.0 are all buzzwords with no substance right now.

The only good trend that has come out of last year's bull run in my opinion is DeFi, which is actually what will be useful in the future and what everyone is using right now.

Metaverse, Web3.0 and NFTs are created by VCs for the VCs.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: January 04, 2022, 03:40:11 AM
Contrary to speculations from various cryptocurrency analysts who have predicted that the altcoin market was going to witness the highest price boom in 2021 it seems the hype was overrated and the market went in the other direction opposite the speculations and many speculators are left with no choice than to flow with the current market conditions.
The altcoin market witnessed some new development and projects such as the web 3 NFTs and the discovery of the metaverse which are now the rave of the moment, this and many more are the happenings that characterize the altcoin market with its wave being transferred to this year 2022. I guess the altcoin faith is left hanging at the moment and a lot of analysis has gone ahead which all point to a more groundbreaking development ahead.

Agreed.

Altcoins have gained a lot of steam in recent months and I think that a lot of the projects out there are certainly competitors to ETH and BSC, which are currently the most dominant players.

NEAR, FTM and other projects all have a ton of potential and with the advent of DeFi will likely see substantial further growth going into 2022.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi and CeFi ratings on: January 04, 2022, 03:29:56 AM
I think that this is a pretty fair list.

The only thing that you are missing imho for the DeFi applications would be Curve - they are one of the blue chips in the space.

I also would not be comfortable trusting CeFi platforms with significant amounts of money regardless of how secure they appear to be right now, it's simply not worth the risk for me personally.
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was down for several hours on: January 04, 2022, 02:25:24 AM
According to the twitter account called @Wublockchain, the Solana network was again down from 2:00 in the morning to 7:00, UTC +8. This is 5 hours. The attacker was suspected to be using spam to direct a ddos attack.

I was before optimistic on Solana and I was also speculating it to be the Binance smart chain killer. However, it appears that Justin Sun’s supposed to be scam Tron network is doing a better performance record that Solana hehehe.

Would Sam Bankman-Fried, who is Solana’s biggest supporter, begin to copy CZ’s strategy for BNB and create a blockchain network for FTX’s FTT?

Wouldn't be surprising at all.

At the end of the day the altcoin scene is just a giant circlejerk where all the founders come together and copy each other/fork each others' projects to raise capital.

Most of these transactions will be completely useless in nature and people don't care as long as they make money - just look at how people are ignoring these huge issues with the SOL blockchain.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better: Ethereum or the Binance Smart Chain? on: January 04, 2022, 12:02:53 AM
ETH all the way.

BSC is only successful because it offers lower fees (for now) and also has a centralized exchange that is currently backing it.

But at the end of the day, it's not as scalable as other solutions out there like FTM, SOL, or whatnot. ETH will become more scalable itself after ETH2.0 comes out, which is certainly going to eat into the use cases of BSC.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of the NFTs on: January 03, 2022, 09:54:17 PM
I had once said that there is no future for NFT but after my research on it I take back my words, I believe there is a bright future for NFTs, seeing how Interested people are towards NFTs and how it can turn an image into something of great value is amazing, but I would also advise not all available NFTs collection are valuable justike how not all crypto is valuable, what catching my attention is the way musicians are really supporting and promoting the virtual world experience,I hope to see a world where things would get decentralized and someone can claim full ownership of their works and properties.
Obviously not all NFTs are created equal,  while many believed that NFTs would take over the world of digital art I really think their main application will be in video games as all in-game items eventually become NFTs.

This could even some solve issues with glitches that duplicate items on games that are multiplayer as technically each item would be unique and will have a sole owner, and once the metaverse is a reality then NFTs of all kind could grow in popularity, but there is a long time before that could become the main application of NFTs.
Doubt it.

From what I've been hearing most people are rotating out of NFTs because they understand that it is just a transient hype, into more substantial projects in DeFi.

This is why Curve, FTM, ETH have been pumping despite BTC being down overall. DeFi is the future and the DeFi bull run was only interrupted by this NFT madness momentarily.
410  Economy / Economics / Re: To be financially well and healty you need to find fund manager on: January 03, 2022, 11:53:53 AM
Terrible advice.

Take a look at how much hedge funds actually underperformed the broad based S&P500 index in the previous year.

Hedge funds and money managers are only useful when

a) they don't take a percentage annual fee and

b) your objective isn't to maximise returns per se, but rather to stablise returns even in times of market downturn.

A couple of people have asked me to clarify a step-by-step guide of how to liquidate your NFTs, as they don't understand the Arcona team's instructions, so here's how I did it:

1) Go to rarity.garden, connect your Metamask wallet and go to the BSC network.
2) On the left hand side tab, click "Your NFT Wallet", then "Register Collection". Here you need to enter the collection address which is 0xE59046EEF9477DFD6A231579CCB3b91201a5e41f for the FEOD NFTs that you have received.
3) Next, click on the top left hand corner of your NFT and click Sell. List at whatever price you want, I listed one at 0.15 WBNB and sold in around 1 day, and the second one sold at ~0.12 WBNB. Do NOT expect to sell it anywhere close to 0.3 BNB, you're just wasting your time and gas.

Several notes:
- You need to have around 0.01-0.02 BNB in your wallet to begin with to pay gas.
- Check decentralized marketplace for current offers so you get an idea of what yours can sell for at the time of offering.
- I'm not affiliated with Arcona, and this is general advice only. I actually think that this is badly mismanaged given that a community member needs to take their time to explain to the others, hence I've quit this sig campaign.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 02, 2022, 03:54:41 AM
How about Demar DeRozan with another buzzer-beater and they win against the Wizard. Man, this guy is playing like an MVP, he was just underrated with he was in another team and now, he unleashed everything he got. Man! the dude can really shoot outside with a high percentage of shots this year. Back to Back buzzer-beater in two days?

Chicago beat Washington, 120-119!

Demar has really made a comeback.

Another really good game winner from Saddiq Bey for detroit, and Terrance Mann managed to close out a comeback win for the LA Clippers against a stacked Nets team.

The Clippers are incredibly deep and I think that if they get Kawhi back this year, they will be able to become title contenders again.
413  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID has driven Americans to bank $1.6 TRILLION in savings on: January 02, 2022, 03:03:25 AM
There was just so much liquidity being pumped out by central banks all across the world.

They try to make it seem like that it is an issue of people not spending enough in the economy, but the real reason for this current savings debacle is very simple - record low interest rates, quantitative easing, and tons and tons of repos.

Inflation is coming soon, guys. Stay clear of fiat based assets.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 02, 2022, 02:40:52 AM
Lakers vs Nets finals are not gonna happen anymore, the Lakers are a complete mess now, that wouldn't change in the long run. It's only between the Warriors and the Suns that will advance in the NBA Finals but I see the Warriors advancing because Draymond wants to prove that they can be in the Finals again even without KD.

Technically, the odds for Lakers vs Nets in the Finals facing each others are somehow questionable referring to the current situation now. Not just in Western Conference, but I'm not even considering Nets as the sure win for the Eastern Conference.

Although inconsistent, Lakers seems showing dominance therefore, we can assume that they are not tally doomed. Western Conference is full of tough teams. Even Lakers are showing good and let's say they are consistent, we can't still be sure what teams will face in the NBA Finals.

Lakers are not going to the finals, period.

LeBron is having one of his best seasons so far in terms of production and yet they are still struggling to get above .500.

The Nets have a real chance of winning the East and perhaps the whole championship - they were so close to beating the Bucks last year. But it will depend on the Kyrie situation as well as how healthy KD stays.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top Cryptocurrencies for iGaming 2021 on: January 02, 2022, 12:18:11 AM
I think that more and more people are actually using DAI or USDT for gambling.

As long as you don't use the ETH chain version of these stablecoins, I think that they are actually quite viable.

Transaction fees are low on networks such as Polygon which is definitely good, and the stability of value allows fiat players to also enjoy the fast transactions that are offered by crypto casinos.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport's betting experience on: January 02, 2022, 12:08:33 AM
I am following English premier League and Australia A league. 80-85% matches 1st half Happen corner over 3.5 that's odds 1.32-1.40 . So anyone wants to safe betting then you can bet there. Not all matches. Select for a team like Manchester United. If Manchester United and it's partner fail to cover 3.5 corner in 1st half in a match then the next match stake high between Manchester United Vs opponent team. That's the simple tricks. This tips dose not work for 100%, so bet your own risk.

Not going to happen.

Sportsbetting markets are efficient so there is virtually no long term exploitable pattern for sportsbettors to be able to take advantage of. Unless you have extensive backtesting/insider info/arbitrage opportunities.

Your EV, at the end of the day, is likely still going to be negative regardless of how many times you do this - or how many times you have won in the past.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: P2P gambling games - survey from creators on: January 01, 2022, 11:52:24 PM
I personally think that you should deploy it on a low-gas blockchain.

But overall, i think that gambling is always going to be one of the things that will benefit from decentralization just because of the importance of having fair rolls and making sure that casinos can pay out any wins.

If you can do it well, there is a lot of potential. But most protocols go to zero because they focus too much on development and not enough on marketing.

New guid is https://telegra.ph/How-to-add-Arconas-NFT-to-your-wallet-11-21, but it’s only Russian now, but you can use translator

If you're an official representative of the Arcona project, it would be great if you explain it here in English. Most people here don't speak Russian and when it comes to addresses/logins/money-transfers I honestly don't trust Google-Garbage-Translations.

I mean, we do our best to represent your project here on Bitcointalk. The least you could do is briefly explain what we can do with the NFT and how we can convert it to land.

And for how much does the Feod NFT sell on rarity.garden? Is it 0.3 BNB? If not, it would be fair for the participants to know the current value.

Completely agreed in regards to this. There were simply no disclosures in regards to the NFT - we trusted the project to reward with something close to 0.3 BNB liquidation price. Makes no sense to claim that it is "worth" 0.3 BNB when in reality it is issued for 0.3 BNB and there is no liquid market.

I could also issue an NFT and price it at 1 BTC, but it's not "worth" 1 BTC until there are buyers willing to purchase at that price.

Could someone check and confirm that I have received NFT for the so far concluded 2 weeks?
My enrolled BSC addy: 0x3E4A229ECA64188DC884C1c76b3836e1304Bf539

(I checked on metamask and then on bscxplorer.com and explorer.bitquery.io explorers but could not find).

Big thanks in advance.

You need to go directly to rarity.garden - the NFTs do not show up on any block explorers.

For those interested, after fiddling around with the platform for a few days I've managed to sell one of the two FEODs for 0.15 WBNB before fees, after lowering the price on it quite a few times. It doesn't seem like there exists a liquid market for any amount above that.

After platform fees and royalties this comes out at 0.117 BNB, and I spent around ~0.02 BNB in gas fiddling around with orders as I didn't know what the liquid price was. So net proceeds were more like <0.1 BNB, and the second FEOD remains unsold.
