Well well. Just checked in and we seem to have crept up a smidgen more... $1258USD/$1700CAD at Bitcoinaverage.
Maybe this time $1250 will stick for a while. We're getting closer to gold parity again.
$1700CAD is another rung up the ladder for us Canucks. Feels good.
The difference is that there's no huge hype that's causing the price to spike. Looks like this time gold parity might stick for longer than a day or two. wohoo! also, another BU crash, apparently? what a mess they are. even if their idea was sound (i don't particularly know that is is), code that vulnerable is totally unacceptable.

-bitfinex cold storage decrease -weekend -litecoin fomo -BU blocks increase -twitter message -brain error Pick one please oh oh, brain fart for 1000 alex!

...what on earth just happened? started dropping (stamp) about 6 hours ago, the nose dive 2 hours ago, dropped 40 bucks total and not a mention here?
also, as to the environmental aspect of mining: aside from materials used to make the miners (the majority of which are recyclable, i think) then only other used resource is electricity, which can come from many renewable and sustainable resources. the only by product is heat, which itself can be used to generate electricity or otherwise put to useful work.
in short: oh shut up ya bloody tosser. THINK, god dammit.

IMO, as long as this scaling war doesn't decimate things, it's highly probable that we see a double or even triple sized market cap within the next 5 years.
given the last five years, that seems pretty reasonable, which feels weird to write.

there already are confirmed lost coins in the thousands, at least, not counting satoshi's million or so.

What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?
I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.
simply ignore them and move on. like any political or economic opinion, it's not worth debating if the word hate comes up.

anyone got any links regarding the wells fargo connection with finex? i've seen it mentioned upthread a couple times that the Taiwanese banks blocks deposits is due to wells fargo, but seen no evidence of that. little help?

Reaching for Gold parity again feel like
Why compare some kind of alsmost infinite material by what it greatest capability is shining, to bitcoin? Bitcoin has a lot more potential. There is only no middleground. In a couple of years it is the moon or the gloom. electrical/thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance... gold is more then shiny.

Dear whoever bought Killerpotleaf`s account, Congratulations on becoming untrustable,(30+) Do you really want to join a BTC fork, owned and operated by the Chinese state?
There ain't no devil, son. That's just god when he's drunk. i confirm this. i've seen it in this thread before, actually. been a long time though. happy birthday adam.

This was posted a long time ago. Really? 10$ for BTC I can't believe it but is the true those guys who bought many btc are rich now.
not all of them. myself, i got involved back then. mined a little, but only had one video card i could put to it. ended up with about 15 or 20 coin at the highest... sold and spent them on things around $100 to $150. most of that was video games, sad to say... now i have nothing but last weeks earnings from the sig campaign i'm in, owe another guy on this forum several BTC, and... well, yea. not everyone made out like bandits, even if they were here then.

this thread is about bitcoins that are GONE. that cannot EVER be recovered by anyone under any conditions.
I disagree about the last part of the sentence. it wasn't an opinion. what can you disagree about? are you suggesting that if someone encrypted their wallet then destroyed the hard drive that file was on, those keys could be recovered somehow?

what the heck has the price so disparate at finex? (i haven't been on the forum or following news for a week or so...)

Let's see if we still get to 2000-3000 by end this year....
i can't imagine that occurring, or even breaking 1500, until the scaling issue is solved. i may well be wrong though. i didn't think we'd get past the ATH with this mess unresolved. The scaling issue is not as big of a mess as you seem to be making it out to be, and that is part of the reason why prices are performing greater than you expect - because likely the smart money realizes that the scaling issue is not as big of a mess as the various whiners want to make it out to be. you're probably right.

This forum was started by Satoshi Nakamoto, right? So it means people of this forum already talked to him.
Could anyone from the old times of BitcoinTalk share the experience?
there are old posts by him here, yes. but he didn't start it, i think theymos has always owned it. most of these recent replies... i realize english is likely not your first language guys, but i honestly can't tell what you're trying to say or ask. there's no "legend." the person or group we know as satoshi nakamoto existed, created bitcoin, talked to people here and elsewhere for several years, then left.
