I can loan you 1BTC, repayment of 1.12 by December 8. Thoughts?

i can't guarantee repayment like that. for starters, i don't know when i'll actually have a repaired car and get back to work. beyond that, i don't make a lot of money. most of it goes to gas, insurance, the car payment. assuming the car is fixed and i'm able to work this week, be able to repay maybe half of that by then. but i don't think the car will be fixed by then.

Then how does, 1BTC, repayment of 1.2 by January 20, 2015 sound? Payments would be whenever you can.

much, much more doable. yea, that would be fine. unless, obviously, the price sky rockets.... might have to renegotiate then.

Likewise if the price turns to dust yes?

oh, indeed.

Is it possible to fund this loan partly, instead of the whole $1500?

wouldn't be the first time. sure, that's fine.

I'm waiting for a BTC0.14 loan repayment, once I receive that will fund you partly. Probably not much for you, but it's better than none.  Wink

thanks.

since i'm asking for btc, the loan would be repaid in btc, even if the price sky rockets or whatever.
I was thinking about going ahead, but then I read this. How would you pay back if price sky-rockets? I ask as someone who had a $20k debt when BTC was ~$10, and now have ~$500k in debt I probably won't be able to pay off before dying. Cheesy You should probably go for a USD-denom loan with a bank, CU, or even WU/similar transfer.

I was thinking u should shut up if u wont even making loan. u now have bad trust cuz of ur retardation.

dude, calm down.

my non-btc credit is very poor. that's not really an option.

and no, i'm not expecting it to get paid off by someone else. that was a fluke. ...even though he did it twice...
No - I mean you should get the loan in USD through someone here. This used to happen all the time because BTC was (and still is, even compared to the "good ole days") volatile. I'm sure there're still lenders willing to do this. Alternately, a lender might be willing to give a USD-pegged BTC loan. If I had the spare USD (... unless you can wait a couple months Cheesy) or thought the loan amount was small enough where you could probably take the hit of BTC sky-rocketing, I'd be interested in this.

well, if lenders come forward with that, i wouldn't be opposed. but i'm on a btc forum, afterall.

it's uber's insurance, point of fact. which doesn't have uninsured motorist coverage, much to my surprise. i've tried talking to the local staff, but in terms of the deductible i have been largely ignored. i'm considered an independant contractor, so i suspect any push to get them to cover this cost would be ignored on that basis.

i haven't like, gone to twitter about it or anything. hell, i don't have a twitter account...
770  Economy / Lending / Re: need $1500 for car insurance deductible 12.5% interest on: November 07, 2014, 08:47:56 PM
You don't have much luck do you?

so, i find myself slightly up the creek, as it were. while working (driving for uber, like a taxi basically which is my full time income) my car got hit by a guy pulling out fro ma parking meter. damaged my passenger side doors. back one won't open, you get the idea. the guy bolted and as of yet i haven't heard any progress from the police. IF they find him, it'll be ages before there's any money pulled out of him due to the legal process.

in order to get back to work, i'm having to cover the $1000 insurance deductible to get repairs done. it's also taken them nearly three weeks to get the appraiser out to look at the car and such. i'm probably looking at another week or more out of work. my savings are dried up. i've got the usual bills to cover... car payment, insurance, cell phone, food, (not rent thankfully) so i also need a few hundred to cover those expenses.

to sum up: need $1500 usd, interest of 12.5%, once i actually get back to work, i should be able to repay about $150 usd (bitcoin equivalent, of course) monthly at a minimum. with any luck the cops will find the guy and get the money from him...

since i'm asking for btc, the loan would be repaid in btc, even if the price sky rockets or whatever.

Aren't you the guy that aked for a loan because he locked himself out of his own car?

He repaid. Except one loan was credited by another user for some reason.

correct. when i asked him, he just said he felt like it, basically. *shrug*

EDIT: people down thread have suggested i take the loan in USD instead. that's fine. anything is fine. i just need my car fixed.

EDIT 2: got some living expenses sorted out, but still need the deductible. i've spoken with a bank about a personal loan, but my credit here and my credit with banks and the like are very different things... EDIT: loan was denied.

thanks for the help guys.

turns out there's another service provider which covers where i am. suddenlink.  never heard of them...call em up, basically, they said they could provide cable tv, but not internet, because of where i am... when i asked what it would take to fix that, the guy said, "another company."

sigh.
That is strange. It's usually the provider who supplies access. If they are not that far away, like you said, you should be able to pay to get access.
Can I get the name of this company?

comapny is called Suddenlink. http://www.suddenlink.com/

i figure he was just giving me the brush off... i plan to call them back and work my way up the chain.

If the cable wires across the street are unused, place a splitter across road, add your own cable, and hope it's connected at head end, or ask a neighbour to go 50/50 on whatever bill?

Best way is order minimum package that would be required for wires to be fitted, then cancel on 14th day of grace period, which get's your wire for free, now go buy new modem and call comcast or whomever your goin with?

If I had more details, I may be able to help..

i'm gonna make some calls today to see exactly what the problem is and i'll get back to you guys.
779  Other / Off-topic / Re: anyone know anything about getting REALLY new cable/fiber ran to a rural home? on: October 19, 2014, 07:02:29 AM
Best option is to call your cable company and look into what they charge.

that's the jacked up thing. i HAVE. cable company and at&t. way they tell it, it's simply not possible. no option, no amount of money to change that. that's why i figured i was talking to the wrong people, but i have no idea how to get beyond them.
780  Other / Off-topic / Re: anyone know anything about getting REALLY new cable/fiber ran to a rural home? on: October 18, 2014, 05:14:52 PM
hey guys.

warning: i'm writing this at 3 am while very tired...

so, i currently live a bit out in the boonies. it's kinda rural in setting, on the edge of the larger dallas metroplex. and i can't even get DSL out here. i'm currently using a 3g wireless connection with verizon that thankfully has unlimited data, but maxes out around 300kbps.
no at&t u-verse or DSL, even cable tv isn't an option. we're just too far from the nearest hub thingy.

of course, when i say too far, what i've seen according to a site i can't remember now was that the houses about 100 yeards away (and possibly those across the street...) DID have cable.

so, who the hell do i talk to and how much would i have to fork over?

I know some one that had the same problem, he was only able to access internet via 3G, which gave him max 1.5Mbit in speed.

The person invested serious money in order to get a company to connect him with fiber. It have cost him €8000+ in total.

But he now enjoys 100/100Mbit speeds, HD tv, etc... For him it was worth the investment.

yea, i expected that sort of thing... long term project then. which is fine - my fiance and i will probably live out our lives here...
