961  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp Login disabled? on: April 08, 2014, 03:21:16 PM
What's going on?

Virwox too. I'm assuming it's related to the heart bleed security flaw in OpenSSL that was psyched today. Everybody is racing to close that loop hole.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A successful DOUBLE SPEND US$10000 against OKPAY this morning. on: April 08, 2014, 03:12:55 PM
It has been more than a year. I think this is the only instance of successful double spending of a 6-confirmation transaction. Have anything been done to address this problem? Comparing with those fancy applications, this involves the very fundamental principle: transaction irreversibility. If it is not fixed, I am sure it will happen again when we have another unexpected fork and the harm could be much more serious.

Because this required a fork, I don't think there's anything that can be done. I mean, the entire system of bitcoin relies on forks not occurring. I'm no Dev though, so don't take my word as law.
963  Economy / Lending / Re: Locked keys in car, between jobs, need 1 Btc fast, pay 10% interest. on: April 02, 2014, 09:00:26 PM
I've contacted Arklan, I'm not pleased with the news I have received when the payment was suppose to be fulfilled, however I know things can happen and I've approached Arklan with a proposal which I think may help him with the payments, that is instead of paying in full in one payment we have multiple payments each month which consist  smaller amounts.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't informed of this news earlier.

Update: We have come up with a deal and Arklan honored the new deal by sending 0.2 this month. I'm expecting to receive 0.2 next month.

Not that it's my business but why don't you check his online shop and try to reach a deal with him that way for a small amount of BTC

He has pretty interesting things there!

Not a bad idea. I'd be happy to make a 3d model for ya of anything you like.

But I don't have the money to get it printed, which is handled by the site, Shapeways. I just upload models, they print them...

I s on probation as a new hire, got in a wreck cause a guy stopped short in front of me, that was basically that.

If you rear ended a car, YOU were at fault.  You leave as much distance as needed to come to a full stop without hitting the car in front of you.    Undecided

OK, I get your point. I may just be rationalizing to myself on that... But at least they aren't making me pay for the repairs...
965  Economy / Lending / Re: Locked keys in car, between jobs, need 1 Btc fast, pay 10% interest. on: April 01, 2014, 12:45:57 AM
I got fired from the new job after a month due to a car accident in their vehicle. Wasn't my fault, but when on probation they don't care...

That doesn't sound right....   Undecided

Which part? I'm happy to explain what I can, though it was medical transport (wheelchair patients) so there's some I can't talk about for privacy reasons.

Hi arklan, I sent a small donation to the wallet address in your sig. Hope it helps a bit.  Undecided

Wow, thanks!

Welsh, I now have an  additional 0.21 (total of 0.23 available)  I could send us now or hold until I have the full 1.2 I owe ya.
967  Economy / Lending / Re: Locked keys in car, between jobs, need 1 Btc fast, pay 10% interest. on: March 31, 2014, 08:53:53 PM
In short: I don't have the money right now, as  I got fired from the new job after a month due to a car accident in their vehicle. Wasn't my fault, but when on probation they don't care...

I've already found a new job however. Interviewed, did a background check, etc. Just waiting on the final word to start.

I have every intention of paying ASAP, and will happily add another 0.1 Btc for being late. More of you require.

Also, regarding payment address, I'll check on blockchain and pm you to confirm its the right one. I have 0.01 right now, and another 0.009 and climbing from mining, if you want that now as proof of intent to pay.

I'll be reaching out to family and such to see if I can borrow what I owe you a well, though that's unlikely to work...
968  Economy / Economics / Re: Distribution of bitcoin wealth by owner on: March 27, 2014, 10:45:40 PM
i personally have two wallets, one on my phone one on my pc, and have somewhere around 50 addresses in total, on a guess.

but currently i don't have even .02 btc. in the past i have had more though, and done a group buy on this forum for some asics, so i have a bunch of addresses related to that.
969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 22, 2014, 02:24:52 PM

970  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 09, 2014, 05:14:46 PM
Showoff.............lol.

Looks like about 2.5 BTC per day.

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1JdrvUEgB1MHBEkdjq2BYEZ5oJd9dFKNto

That is only 5 cabinets of 20.

Also doesn't include our other equipment.

27 ants per cabinet. Each ant over clocked to 375 with an average hashrate of 190Gh/s or 5.13Th/s per cabinet.

I hate you.

974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 07, 2014, 02:14:28 AM

Well, that's... Rather interesting.
975  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2014, 11:36:42 PM
Now everything is so boring... What is the biggest bid wall in terms of USD you ever spotted on an exchange? I think there was a 1.2 million wall once on Mt.Gox, but i'm not entirely sure.
This one?

This must be the biggest wall, not the one i spotted though.

hell of a wall kid

I remember seeing that... We discussed it in the old wall thread. There was lot of "what the hell?!"
976  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 02, 2014, 04:28:34 AM
i could see some overly complex ducting made from cardboard or such to direct all the ho air one way and allow the fans to only pull in colder air from another, but hey, if this works, it works. leave it.
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: February 28, 2014, 07:20:52 PM
It will be interesting to see if the 200k BTC of the Gox stash (or likely more) in apparent cold storage, but which they seem unable to access atm have actually been lost forever or just frozen for the time being, they can't have been stolen via 'leaky' connected hot wallets or seized by the gov or anything as they haven't moved since Gox signed tx with them back in 2011 to prove solvency then.

These are the most interesting coins to watch right now, for me.
978  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2014, 04:05:54 PM
I don't know if Mark is a bad person, in fact I dont think so, I think the fact that he covered this up and tried to solve it without telling anyone was brave, but sadly this was the worst decision, he should come clean right away and minimize the damage....

Its wasn't brave, it was an attempt at the easy way out.

he just covered his track.. making it even more hard to prove his guilt when investigating this theft. Adding two years of shitty accounting between his theft and Gox failure is quite a nice move..

it seems to me we know where the majority of the coins are. the addresses were posted in this thread a bit ago. that means, if indeed a theft, if those coins EVER move, we get to organize a hunting party!
979  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2014, 03:57:24 PM
why is this the worst thing ever happend to bitcoin??

some fucking suit claims bitcoin is hacked, i thought we were through that shit

it is not, it is just a bad timing now that we are making progress and going mainstream, this will put us few steps back...

which simply gives those of us not in time to get some coin!
980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 27, 2014, 03:24:55 AM
Mark just stole the bitcoins.
He will never admit it (obviously)
There is nothing that can or will be done.
Believing there was a "mistake" or that the coins are "lost" is even more foolish.

Plz stop extrapolating and move on.

well, if gox does end up claiming "lost private keys" somehow, this s easily proven by simply posting the public addresses. then if those coins ever move, he's caught in a lie. so, if he did steal them and says they were lost, then he couldn't ever spend them.
