1241  Economy / Lending / 1 btc loan for groceries? (paid off and closed) on: September 22, 2013, 03:17:59 AM
Hey guys. My name is arklan uth oslin. I'm in a bind, hoping for some help. I'm currently waiting on the results of a background check to come in before I start a new job at a local store. (dollar general in Bedford, tx) until then, the only income I have is my mining, 15 ghash, which is barely covering it. Variance and difficulty are going to leave me short on money before I can start getting paychecks.

I was hoping I could arrange something for a 1 or 2 btc loan to help me get there, repayment asap once I get paid. I can't provide an exact date for that, but worst case puts it by end of October for full repayment, plus interest (which we can determine).

I'll happily provide any info you want.

I have previously provided all identifying info to john k. Related to a group buy I did for asicminer hardware.
Currently I'm living in my friends apartment in Bedford, tx near Dallas.

Anyone know how to disable that sound the app makes when sending payments?

yeah minimum threshold is 0.01 now, we needed to update payout wallet so payments were off for a while, should all be back to normal now
.
Good news new AU mining node commissioned, moving DNS over now,

ah, so that's what it was. all fine now though. thanks. Cheesy

anyone else having payout problems? i've at .03, and my threshold is set to .1 but it hasn't sent anything yet.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitinstant - Are they gone forever? on: September 17, 2013, 07:31:40 PM
I used to use them and now their upgrade has been lasting for months. Are they ever coming back?

good question. i've missed them too. i've instead been using virwox to do my quick exchanges. send em the btc, sell for SLL, sell the SLL for USD, withdraw to paypal. only have to wait for the 6 confirms on sending the btc. you can use your cards to buy there too.

Seems to me like the amount of value being traded has, when you take into account prices, increased. I mean 50k coins at $10 each is less then 5k at $130.
1248  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: September 15, 2013, 09:13:48 PM
Got all mine and they are now working... was really tempted to ask for some BTC back but honestly... Thank you arklan.  You stepped up to organize a group by before anyone else, put up with a broken leg, lack of contact from suppliers, shipping issues, mad customers, people re-selling and re-selling and overall changing their order... and you still came through in the end with >90% of people happy.

Thank you!

A good honest and trustworthy person... just promise me one thing... NEVER run a group buy again XD

So promised. :-D

So looking at the pools page I see it listing the pools total hash rate as about 20 ghash. Is that accurate? I'm personally running 15 gh myself!

Did I miss something?

Pool: [ 21,498.67 GHash/s | 198 Users | 959 Workers ]

21,498 GH, that are 21TH!

I was just on my way to edit that... Just woke up, ignore me.

my bitcoinity is showing 135ish on gox, and seems up-to-date.

They're wrong

I take no responsibility on those who trade on my alternate api feed. It's been wrong before. Standard is lagging by about 3 hours.

I hope you guys know I was just making fake charts like everyone else?

hah. ha ha. Cheesy

Ok all, FC has responded and has let me know that we may purchase eruptors through him at .12 ea or .1 if we get over 2k (highly unlikely).  As such, I am currently taking interest if anyone would like any additional eruptors?  If we get enough support than I will probably go forward and host some sort of GB for these.  Currently just gauging interest.

Things To Note - I would be thinking, something like .14 or .15 per eruptor to cover cost of shipping/handling. (shipping from US, could be more if international)
These potentially could take a bit to arrive, I will get them out immediately when they do, but we all saw how long it could take FC to get them to Arklan.
I reserve the right to not go forward with this GB for any reason and refund in full any Btc paid to me.  Any reason could include, going to take too long, not enough interest, positive ROI gone, etc...

Note 2-This is open to anyone whether they previously participated or not.

Either post here or PM me interest and how many you think you would want at above price.

Thanks,

Debitme

I've been thread jacked! :-D

I got my 11 today.  At least 2 had loose heat sinks that I fixed by tightening up the screws.  Two are malfunctioning, getting hardware errors out the wazoo, I don't know if it's the same 2 or not.  Hard to figure out which 2 it is when I have 35 of them. Sad

M

If you ever do figure it out, lemme know.

It was a power supply issue.  Ended up with more erupters than planned for.  they are working fine directly on another PC.

Thanks.

M

Excellent.

Will you be selling again due to the 0.10 price drop?

Nope. Not me.

If I may return to the topic at hand, heh:

The Canadian packages that were held up by customs heading to Canada have been fixed and should resume transit.

The bitfury chips are at 2GH/s@500mA per chip, so that wouldn't be too bad.  I'm actually following a developer and might be putting together a group buy for those should they come available.

I wasn't aware of that. Been too long since I've really done a full board catch up read.
