423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BOO! Some Say BTC may be a NSA creation to control world currency on: December 15, 2017, 05:19:22 AM
This is by far one of the most stupid claims against BTC, just like calling 9/11 to be an inside job ever since it happened without any sort of proof backing the claims. Let me tell, NSA is too busy setting up for surveillance of their citizens and would never harvest on great ideas like cryptocurrencies.
424  Economy / Economics / Re: people face paying taxes on their Bitcoin Sales in India on: December 14, 2017, 11:32:23 AM
The government is in a big muddle over Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies sighting the immense price surge over the last month and is even advising precaution to investors telling them to 'invest at their own risk'. All of this is leading to FUD about Bitcoin being taxed, while there is no official statement from the central government yet. Trading on exchanges is literally a nightmare as prices are ridiculous and these so called exchanges are getting away with tax and a lot of fee while the rest of the country is in disbelief of cryptos being taxed.
425  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is their a protection on exchanges if you sell for way less? on: December 14, 2017, 10:39:24 AM
Let's just say you were fortunate enough that Bittrex sold it for $15,900 instead of $1,100 but on other exchanges it would've probably been sold for the value listed. Usually when using a price much lesser than the trending price, exchanges sell it to the highest buy order bid and if it does not have a system in place for such a situation, the coins sell for the actually listed price. Either ways, consider yourself lucky and don't do the same mistake again.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins Drop In Price Due To Upcoming Bitcoin Forks? on: December 14, 2017, 06:22:09 AM
Because certainly people will be converting their altcoins or get more btc?

Not really, all the newer and upcoming forks are just trying to create money out of thin air without any goals on how they can improve the protocol from core and all the other forks. Expect an instantaneous dump with the price peeking at a two digit figure per coin, nothing more. As far as altcoins go, they should remain uninfluenced and continue in their paths.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fractions in the Future?! on: December 14, 2017, 05:11:46 AM
This reminds me of a post which emphasised on why satoshi was used as the least count for Bitcoin back when a single satoshi was deemed completely worthless. Even today at the $16k mark, (as of right now) one can say a single satoshi carries no value but entering the future where prices are expected to skyrocket, maybe it would find itself close 0.01 USD which is a lot, to be the smallest unit of BTC
428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sent Amount 0.004 and becomes 0.002?? on: December 14, 2017, 02:54:46 AM
Presuming that you used blockchain's wallet to send the funds, I think you did not pay attention to the fees part and just set it to median or high priority transaction. Since there are over 130k unconfirmed transactions on the network, the optimal fees would be chosen by the wallet provider which amounted to 0.002 BTC
Be careful next time and make sure to set your custom fee instead of letting your wallet choose the fee.
429  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind of economy will it be if bitcoin is a currency? on: December 14, 2017, 02:27:33 AM
With the current situation in mind, an economy with Bitcoin as wouldn't be feasible for various reasons. The transaction fee being high and lots of unconfirmed transactions on the network indicates signs of slowing down. Carrying out micropayments would become tedious with the amount of fees being paid. If the core made enough adjustments to make everything smooth and feasible, it would be the first step into a crypto economy.
430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: December 13, 2017, 01:40:01 PM
Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth?

Very much so, most of the newer users getting into Bitcoin would have read at least a few articles about the percentage rate of growth over the years and how early adopters and investors became millionaires and billionaires. Most of these articles are published or posted in social medias like Facebook and Twitter which almost every common man uses and this directly invokes interest in them to know more about the subject.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to analyse ICOs on: December 13, 2017, 08:45:47 AM
Going through the whitepaper thoroughly should give a general idea about the outline of the project and having a look at the roadmap and its possibilities could prove helpful in assessing the ICO. Other important things would be the team and their past achievements on an individual level, application of the project being impactful enough and if it has the edge over other similar projects

Just keep all these things in your head and conduct enough research before investing and you should be fine.
432  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dota 2 play for money on: December 13, 2017, 07:47:15 AM
We'll just gonna play DotA 2 and we will get paid for it? What will be the way for us to get paid by just simply playing it? I can't understand your website https://cyber-lobby.com/ but base on what I can see, it's just like a sports betting website? I thought you're going to make a platform that everyone will get paid just for playing DotA 2 not for betting with these international teams or you'll create a platform that can be an escrow for online betting playing against other teams that will use your platform.

I want to make a platform where, every player can play, bet on his game, get paid for it. And also hold tournaments. Bets on well-known teams, I will remove from this application.

So you're talking about building a platform similar to MMbets and Kickback for CSGO, wherein you can bet on your own matchmaking game for skins/money? There will be a lot of difficulties to implement this as you will face a lot of hurdles. Firstly, there would be no sort of house edge and every game won by a player means a depleting bankroll for the site. Secondly, if a higher ranked player lets say of 5k MMR gets a 2k MMR smurf and is able to win all matches, the site would run bankrupt soon enough.

I would like to see your approach in addressing these issues.
433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total crypto market is now worth HALF A TRILLION dollars on: December 13, 2017, 07:15:45 AM
That is just a huge number right there and keep in mind that we're still in 2017, with Bitcoin growing from just below $1000 at the beginning of the year to over $16k right now and speculations said the five digit milestone would only be reached in 2018. That's a whopping 1500% growth and of course would make the market cap even higher.

Not to mention major altcoins like Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Ripple etc have also grown at their own exponential rates in the year giving a big pump to the overall cryptocurrency market cap.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin God - a gift for Christmas on: December 13, 2017, 06:59:31 AM
And the point of creating this fork is?  Roll Eyes

This is really getting to a point where forks will happen in the future just to get instantly dumped by the core members while it still holds any value at all and it is saddening to see the name of 'God' here when it becomes worthless. Lets hope all these stupid wannabes realize that creating money out of thin air by fooling people in believing in a fork of Bitcoin will stop.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto growing at your expected rate? on: December 13, 2017, 06:16:09 AM
Nope, in fact it is growing at a faster rate surpassing all expectations. There were a lot of speculation about Bitcoin reaching the five figure milestone in 2018, but we're already here with an additional $6k as of now and its not even 2018 yet. This clearly tells only one thing, the father of cryptocurrencies i.e Bitcoin is even beating the so called speculators in racing towards a big figure consistently.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how risky is day trading? on: December 13, 2017, 05:57:36 AM
With the unpredictable changes in bitcoin price people have chose to hold instead of day trading,I mean the majority have.
How risky is day trading at the moment?

From a couple of weeks, after crossing the five figure mark, Bitcoin prices have become unpredictable even for the most active of day traders. This comes with factors such as volatility which is pressing the price downwards while developments like Bitcoin futures which is pushing it upwards. With all of this and more in play, getting a estimate on the price of Bitcoin at a particular point of the day accurately becomes all the more difficult and could even lead to losses if utmost care is not taken while trading.
437  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How are crypto exchanges able to send Bitcoin with such low fees ? on: December 13, 2017, 05:31:10 AM
Exchanges and even casinos to an extent always prioritize their outgoing transactions to carry optimum fees while the number of outgoing addresses receiving the withdrawals are multiple. Each address barely adds weight (in bytes) to the transaction and instead of sending each one in a separate transaction, multiple addresses are sent to at once which by large reduces the fee per transaction to a minimal.

-snip-
Recently I heard about IOTA project which is aiming to make micropayments possible without any fee (zero fees).

Came across this somewhere and this vision might actually change the way the world portrays altcoins as Bitcoin is known to have high fees.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is the martingale working or not ? on: December 13, 2017, 05:20:35 AM
im a martingale user and ive always use that method whenever i do gamble on primedice and freebitco, all i can say that it works like a charm and i can manage to win more just by using it although i stop imediatley whenever i won a single bet because gambling is still gambling and it is still have a risk to loose more than winning. i only gamble once in a week and mostly one to two tries only because if i do exceed then i know that i could loose what i already won.

Agreed, using martingale on the above mentioned sites on automatic betting with a significantly small initial bet can do wonders, especially due to the fast dicing which makes it worth the time. Again, agreeing with the fact that it is best to cashout when a significant amount of profit is made instead of continuing as there is complete possibility of losing it all to a very bad red streak.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost private key. on: December 13, 2017, 04:47:01 AM
Private key is the most essential thing to access a wallet and once lost is almost impossible to recover unless backups were made and/or the wallet service provided recovery phrases which were backed up. In any case, offline backups of each would ensure total safety of the wallet since you would be in control of the coins without anyone else's access to it.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THOUGHT ABOUT BOUNTY CAMPAIGNS on: December 12, 2017, 05:09:02 PM
Bounty campaigns are simply essential for any sort of a project to publicize itself and in turn rewards everyone who helps it do so. Providing users with the project's own tokens as the incentive for spreading the word on various platforms like social media, blogs etc has become a a prototype for all ICO projects and this also helps the it by diluting a small part of the total circulating coin supply.
