Since I feel awful about this, I am going to give 100 free tickets to everyone*
(*This is a joke considering it wouldn't change your odds at all.)
Actually, that would change the odds. Pretend there is only 2 people in the raffle, I have 50 tickets, other person has 100 tickets. My odds of winning are 3:1. You give us both 100 tickets each. I now have 150 tickets and other person has 200 tickets. My odds of winning are now 2.33:1 You're right. What about 10% across the board instead of 100 tickets? That is fair. By fair you mean wouldn't change the odds?

Oh and I know many people who use random.org and just stream the pick on ustream or justin tv.
Problem is, how would we know that the stream wasn't pre-recorded? Also, how would we know that the person wasn't using a greasemonkey script to change the number on the random.org website? I'm going to go put my tinfoil hat back on. Don't bother. That is not a tinfoily thing to say. It's exactly what I would do if I were going to falsify the results. That is why I agree that the blockchain is a good direction for the future as well.

It is like one outcast promoting another outcast.
What do u mean by this? I mean that Nana is not popular on Youtube for her singing skills and anyone with a brain knows that. Just like "Chocolate Rain" is not a popular song because it's catchy, unique, well written, and soothes the ears.

UPDATE: I updated the spreadsheet to reflect the modified referral-finder code.
Note that only the referrals were having an issue. All other data is still already verified.
The updated total referrals count went from 30 to 44, so that means that my error was cheating people on the lower half of the spreadsheet out of 14 referrals.
Since I feel awful about this, I am going to give 100 free tickets to everyone*

Fair enough. But suppose she was willing to do it for herself to make money or get more attention?
It is like one outcast promoting another outcast. Let it go. So, I'm not going to force her to do anything. I'm just going to ask her. It will be on her own freewill if she decides to do it or not.
The only way it should be.

i hope one day you'll have the balls to speak to me.
I am speaking to you, genius. Who did you think this message is for? Fair, but it's not that i have something to hide, i'm trying to avoid being prosecuted just for running bitscalper.
Well you're not running bitscalper anymore, right? So guess it's time to drop the anonymity! 5BTC says he gives another reason/excuse right after this in a classical self-serving, spergy sociopathic manner.

For his next feat, Matthew N. Wright will attempt to operate a lemonade stand...
Is a golden showers booth close enough?

My hash appears in the referrer column 3 times, but the row with it in the purchaser column has 0 in the referrals column, and I only have 1 ticket credit.
Row is 152, hash is 3c7c2cc979c12fc5074efe3a15f852b40f837437d12653b1ffc71f35dd7697f3
Goddamnit. OpenOffice calc moved my calculation references when I pasted them. One moment. EDIT: What happened is that the COUNTIF statement was counting starting the row of the referencing record, instead of starting at the top. To put it plainly, it was only checking rows below the current row instead of starting at the top of the page as it should have. I'm modifying each row in the B column manually to make sure this is done right.

I say we boil water and count the number of Steam molecules that evaporate within a 30 second window, determined from when a penny is dropped from the top of a Sky scraper and hits the ground.
I've got the penny, you get the molecules.

Just use random.org. Use a cell phone to stream the pick live on ustream, so that everyone knows you're not cheating, and you're done! Viola!
You insult me, sir. I'd create a pinwheel with perfectly measured pie slices in accordance to shares, and stream myself throwing a dart at the spinning wheel to choose the winner. Hah! I'd love to see a pinwheel with 47,000 individual slices... I guess we could do it more complicated than that, use the diameter of our Sun to map out a pie chart for the shares and agree on a 1 minute window to count the surface explosions, where the most explosions in a certain area within that minute dictates the winner.

What does make you think that i want to claim my innocence or something ?
Because you've already mentioned on repeated occasions that myself and my incubator/standards organization are seen as a "Mafia" in your eyes, that our existence is unacceptable, and that you are "afraid" of us and do not want to work with us, and yet you continue to message me with greetings and things like "lol". Do you think we are friends? You steal money, make excuses, break promises and hide your identity. Wow. Some friend. if you speak to me i will reply anyhow, i don't understand your behaviour. Still you call me a sociopath, fair.
You are a sociopath, and just like Atlas, even when you disagree with someone you're obsessed with keeping a line of communication open with them so that you can milk more arguments to twist. It's not original. I see it constantly on these forums from scammers.

I have to agree with Matt you guys are making this too complicated. Keep in mind guys raffles are for people who can't do math.
At some point you just need to draw a line in the sand and say you are doing it this way whatever that way may be and if people don't like it then they don't participate.
Yes I did buy a couple tickets but I think the current method is more then fair.
Oh and I know many people who use random.org and just stream the pick on ustream or justin tv.
It's alright. They want to set a precedence and I get that. I also agree with them, as a troll, that if the results are not independently verifiable, it's no-good. Since this won't be the last raffle I run here for fun, I see it as a learning experience at the expense of everyone else. Might as well use it.

It will no doubt only cause people to think it is the latest snakeoil fad that the marketers have come up with to fleece the masses.
I would assume it would not even receive the dignity of considering it an idea of "marketers", and will probably just get comments for her youtube videos to the tune of "Oh look, the whale is not just bad at singing, but she's a scammer too. Do you also believe reptiles in congress, dipshit?". And on the flipside, there will be a nod in this direction on numerous detractor forums about how we are so desperate in our failing fake scam ponzi currency and horrible at business--- and if we supported this bullshit, they'd be right.

Your call Matt. I only have 2 tickets so I don't really care. It would be useful excercise in using the block chain to ensure no ability to cheat. Random.Org is only random if you actually make it random not pick a buddy as the winner. Not saying you would but using the blockchain as a double blind picking method reduces the need for implicit trust. I totally agree. I want to learn this, but it still doesn't make sense to me completely, and that bothers me since I'm usually a fast mover on things. When the block comes around can you show me hands on what has to happen again?

Everyone please be nice to NaNa. I got her to come to this forum and read your posts. She is not happy with some things she read. NaNa is a human being like the rest of us.
And btw... what did you expect? Are you going to invite her to the SA forums next? That is all on you bro. I know she is a human being... I have my doubts about some of the rest of you. +1 Next let's bring a handicapped kid who has a million views on Youtube and have him wear a bitcoin hat! Yay. Then when that's over with, we can find some people with actual talent and notability who might want to honor Bitcoin by speaking about it in an intelligent and comprehensible manner.

I am not saying they are freaks, but they are no doubt seen that way by the general "normal" public and which makes them valuable to scumbag marketers and the like. I consider myself a freak... but I am not going to let any advertiser hand a sign on me to try and make a profit for himself and his clients. The seeking to be "normal" ... to fit in with the average crowd... I see as more of an affliction than what most freaks suffer.
Nothing will come from this. It is just being done for fun. I can't imagine a single person using Bitcoin because of this, and I can only think it will have mutually negative influences on both Nana and Bitcoin. Yay.

The raffle rules stated that: - Your email address would be published
- The winner would be chosen by yesterday
- Random.org would be used to choose the winner
So far I've done none of those. I'm all for learning and making this a better experience for everyone, but understand that every modification makes me feel like I'm straying even further from keeping my word. I appreciate sticking around and helping everyone, and on that note, keep it as simple as possible for those who cant 2 math.
