Good god. People. He's offering Paypal>BTC and BTC>Paypal. Shouldn't that be proof enough he's a scammer?

I want to fully believe in this so bad. After reading this thread I am one step closer. I am so torn. So torn.

It's easier just to watch.  Never trust a ...

We could go to a local elementary school and teach children about bitcoin and make a mock bitcoin operation. (don't think this is practical, their parent would probably complain about teaching libertarian ideals to children)

he paid up... took a little while, but money is in my account.

Glad to hear that. I believe in Jake. Everyone makes mistakes as a teen. Let's hope things stay on track and we can be proud of giving chances.

Mt.Gox is not a company that has grown larger through Bitcoin?

I thought about mentioning MtGox, but there are several reasons I didn't that I don't want to start  flame war about here. Suffice to say, all companies grow larger through Bitcoin but some grow artificially and remain unhealthy.

I disagree. Bitcoin so far represents a free market. There is nothing artificial about that.

I think free markets are only free when the parties involved in them understand that it's free. Right now a good majority are still clinging to their old habits of centralization, insurance, backing, reversals, trusting strangers, etc.

man you spam my thread and now you crying why i said you are not spamming my thread? no,no,no go home man!!!

I'm not spamming your thread, I'm discussing the issue with you by responding to your statements. If I were spamming your thread I would spam it with actual spam so that we could have something to eat once the idiot newbie eventually strolls by that will get burned lending to you. Burnt spam is better than spoiled newbie.
3507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [ANN] bitfloor cash deposit, ACH withdraw, and wire transfers on: May 21, 2012, 08:15:11 PM
If thats the only reason I feel sorry for bitfloor to even go on his show. Anything Bruce "touches" turns to crap eventually, directly or indirectly.

I advised Zhou Tong a trillion times to ignore Bruce's requests for interviews. I'm so glad I did or else people would be saying that Bitcoinica was MyBitcoin 2.0.

3510  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Anybody Interested in purchasing a BitCoin/SolidCoin lottery website. on: May 21, 2012, 08:05:51 PM
Ok Sir I stand corrected. $750 is waaaaaaay too much money to ask for a complete Secure MONEY related website that just needs a server.
From what you've described so far, it's just a repeater for Bitcoin transactions that anyone who's ever used RPC can do in one sitting no doubt.

A site that supports features such as;

  • supporting multiple crypto-coins simultaneously.
  • Multiple Lotto in different currencies
  • User Registration and management
  • Accounts Management.
  • Fraud detection
  • Automated (Randomized) Winner Selection and Payout
  • Built in Ticket support system
  • Built in statistics and Reports
  • Lotto Archiving
  • And the feature list goes on and on and on...

If the features list goes on and on, please continue. So far I'm seeing some very basic features that are nice in their own right, but you really didn't get my point apparently so I'll repeat it for you. Programmers are commenting on your thread, not people who have never taken the time to learn PHP so you're not going to get raving reviews from us, sorry to pop your virgin dream bubble.

You cannot build this site in one week by yourself and have it secure. and $750 (150 BTC) is way too cheap for the site.
You have not yet proven you have made it secure. In fact, you promoted it as never being live. When did you stress test it? By yourself over a weekend?

By the way please point me to a bitcoin site that you built in 1 week... pleeeeease I beg you to point me to it. So I can empty it for you...
DialCoin.com

I'll be waiting for your apology.

Here my friend is the example of why so many bitcoin sites get hacked... they are being built by people like this fool, who thinks you can build a secure MONEY related site in one week...
Actually, it's being ruined by egomaniacs who think that their untested, private, questionable code is worth $750 to a community of programmers.  Roll Eyes

Now Please dont respond to this.... you are annoying!

In the words of a dear friend of mine, "Go away! farmer"
3511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea: Diablo III Bitcoin Auction House on: May 21, 2012, 07:45:48 PM
Bitcoin in itself is an experiment, which only started 3.5 years ago, so the fact that most of the sites and businesses around it aren't full fledged corporate projects is understandable.

The internet started as hobby project too, it was just a matter of finding good uses for it. The same goes for bitcoin.

The same does not yet go for Bitcoin, as the difference so far is that large companies become larger, and small companies became large through the internet. That has not happened much in Bitcoin yet.
3512  Economy / Lending / Re: need TODAY 5 btc please, back tomorrow 6,50 btc on: May 21, 2012, 07:32:46 PM

3513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 21, 2012, 07:31:20 PM
It is shocking, shocking that an outsized return from an investment with zero transparency is related to major illegal operations.  Who would have thought?
Where is your evidence? You state it like it is a truth.

It shocks me how prone people I would have thought better of are to slander. I don’t have anything against speculation and discussion, but saying someone is a criminal or (knowingly) connected to criminals is a serious accusation you better be able to back up.

So let me ask you, where is your evidence for GPUMAX and/or Bitcoin Savings & Trust being related to "major illegal operations"?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is withholding revealing and damaging information out of respect to all the members of this forum, especially Pirateat40. You think we all rely on google? Woof, woof.
Put up or shut up.

Speak up now, slanderers. Go and prove him wrong.

Or have the decency to apologize if you cannot.

Wait, aren't you the same person who on IRC was saying that the Bitcoinica hack was an inside job and that Zhou Tong was supposedly a mastermind behind all the hacks/stolen money in Bitcoinica and demanding proof otherwise and yet you're defending pirate without providing anything either?

You are a very talented mental acrobat.

(And if this is not the same person, my apologies).

Red flags of a scammer:
  • Newbies asking for loans
  • A newbie lends bitcoins to another newbie (from the same small country)

Just sayin'
3516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 21, 2012, 07:15:10 PM
Now, on with the show.
You know we can't do that, pirate.

It depends on what show you're referring to.

The "Pirate Show" or the "Ninja Show".  I just wanted to clear up a few things and felt it was time to release a statement.  Believe it or not, either way I couldn't care less.  Tongue

I like Pirate for one, even if he is running a highly illegal and undercover operation for three reasons:

  • He makes bank
  • He pisses everyone else off in how he does it
  • No one can stop him because people follow the money
  • He doesn't constantly defend himself on a bullshit unrelated forum

What do they call this in the real world again? Oh yea, professionalism.

If anything it would be an exercise and a hobby project.

You speak the truth. Sadly, this is true for most businesses/projects in Bitcoin  Cry

@OP: I have never used BitFloor before but I keep seeing Bruce Wagner trying to spam your service everywhere and I wonder-- what is your relation to him? Are you aware that businesses that associate themselves with Bruce Wagner typically -lose- potential customers, not gain them?

FYI He's mostly spamming his own private phone number as a bitcoin exchange now.

I don't think this message is relevant for this thread but I will answer it since it appears here.

We have no official relation to Bruce, he uses our exchange to buy and sell bitcoins like every other user. He has been a well established user of our exchange for some time and has shown himself to be trustworthy in his dealings with us and as such posts about his positive experience. From what I know, Bruce wants to see more dependable and solid exchanges and promotes various ones he has found to be reliable.

I have not found it to be the case that we are losing customers nor would I post on these forums as a company commenting on such matters. Bruce operates his own businesses and website to help users buy Bitcoins. These are not related to us and it is not our place to talk about them.

Our goals our to provide reliable USD Bitcoin exchange for our users and to that end, we have some loyal clients who promote us as a viable alternative to other larger exchanges.

I do not believe he ever promotes anything other than BitFloor however which is why it has raised a few red flags with me.

Thank you for your prompt and professional response though.

Good luck with your exchange!

Are you aware that businesses that associate themselves with Bruce Wagner typically -lose- potential customers, not gain them? And that the last business he publicly supported was a major fraud that he had ties to?

At the end of the day, this is just an idea that goes nowhere until someone with the proper skills puts in the time and effort to make it a reality.

If I were a web developer and programmer, I'd do it myself  Tongue

No you wouldn't. You'd sit there with your mounds of programming and web developing skills and think about the effort and energy needed to work on it versus the absolute lack of guarantee of any reward along with the fallacy of "saving 15%" that would be swallowed up by wire and exchange fees getting money in and out of Bitcoin and you'd say "Fuck that, I'm gonna make a Pirate pass-through site or Bitcoinica2".
