MicroCash is SolidCoin repackaged.

SolidCoin is a less secure form of Bitcoin.

Move along.
3823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin 3.0 (aka MicroCash) will have a daily fee for each address you have. on: April 22, 2012, 02:49:46 PM
Oh my god. I forgot I had this entire sub-board on ignore, and I wandered in just in time to remind myself why.

To anyone who actually thinks this is a good idea, please stop pretending you're successful already and actually  think about what would happen if you were successful. Imagine WIRED magazine interviewing you in all your glory and asking you "Does anyone under any circumstance have the ability to control the coins in any way against a coin holder's will?". That question right there would be the just enough publicity to make sure no one ever listened to you ever. I don't usually pick on forks because I encourage Bitcoin forks that help prove why Bitcoin is succeeding/failing, but SolidCoin is by far the best example of an insecure and fiat-style digital currency ever. It's even worse than Paypal because at least Paypal can be held legally accountable in some countries (excluding Panama). The fact that the developer(s) try to distance themselves from Bitcoin and their roots at every turn just proves their pseudo-intellectual greed-founded intentions.

As far as answering the question to anyone else who wants to know "What is MicroCash?", it's really simple:

SolidCoin is a fork of Bitcoin.

MicroCash is a repackaging of SolidCoin.

Nuff said.

I'm noticing an attraction of yours to pseudo-intellectuals who refer to themselves in the third-person. Whomever chose your elementary school reading list should be shot.

I can verify that notyep is *not* RealSolid.
It is only useful if we can verify.

Anyone can run a node if you have the computer to do so (same goes with mining).
The money comes from these magical things called blocks. Or did I miss what you were asking?
It is very decentralized. The nodes do make it a little more centralized, but if you really want to, you could have your computer turned into a node and get paid for having the node running.

So it uses a blockchain just like Bitcoin then?

How is it different than bitcoin, and no hype please.

3826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get Ready for "MicroCash" : The most advanced Crypto-based Currency yet! on: April 22, 2012, 03:26:07 AM
BTW, the most fundamental req. of any currency system is speed of the transaction. Unlike BTC, wherein it takes minutes for transactions to complete, microcash is nearly instant. This has been written from the ground up and designed for mobility.
How did you accomplish this feat? The reason bitcoin takes several minutes to confirm transactions (the transactions themselves are almost instant) is to prevent stale blocks resulting from network propagation delays, which would greatly reduce the effective hashpower of the network and basically allow anyone with the lowest network latency to take control of the network. How did you solve this problem?

And the most fundamental requirements of a currency system are fungibility (one coin is just as good as any other of the same denomination), divisibility (you can easily make change for large amounts), and difficulty of counterfeiting (you can easily tell a genuine coin from a fake one). MicroCash falls flat on its face for the last point if you don't have a cold answer to my above question.
It's probably because he is using central or 'trusted' nodes/servers again, hence getting away from the decentralized system. As the solidcoins/scamcoins system, he could just shut down everything if he likes.
Your Majesty Realsolid, please keep your propaganda in your own forums or the alternatecoins subforum.

Dude... Just because I posted a screenshot of Realsolid's running client, don't assume he posted this thread. I'm only educating the new comers about a great new technology that will explode to the masses because it overcomes the deficiencies of BTC. Now stop being intimidated and let everyone evaluate and formulate their own opinions. Solidcoin has now become MicroCash and is positioning itself to take the e-currency world by storm (just accept it and don't get "left behind" in the process.)  Smiley

I notice you don't deny who you are directly.

No neutral third-party would ever talk like that. Obviousclone is obvious.

@Topic: Where does the money come from? Who runs the nodes? Is this decentralized?
3827  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Failure is likely on: April 20, 2012, 03:11:05 PM
Listen, guys. It's time to stop predicting and speculating, and start using Bitcoin. You're all sitting on bitcoins right now, pretending you're going to strike it rich, but the community is dying in the meantime. Start thinking about the things you need in your life and start looking for and requesting them to be offered in the bitcoin community. Stop speculating on what the price might be 10 years from now and start actually building our economy.

A bunch of hoarders doesn't help a currency get adopted. Lots of spending does though. I'll be outlining this in one of my newer projects, BeyondBanks. I'll explain more about why this is important soon for those who are interested, and for those who already know, help spread the word.

I apologize for being out of the loop for a while since I've already raffled off a Bitforce here, but might I ask if anyone has seen the previous detractors publicly apologize for their constant doubts of Butterfly labs yet? They don't need to be shot or hung or anything like that, but I think a public acknowledgement that they are in fact overly judgmental would be in order.

With ship & Bitcoin logo:

I like the approaching ship form better then the sideways silhouette, as the approaching form relays more power and strength.
The sideways ship form is like: hey, there is a ship, how nice. The approaching silhouette is like: hey, shit, this ship is coming for me and it's HUGE!

Or it could mean "hey! that ship is sailing away with all my money!"
3830  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Crypto X Change (cryptoxchange.com) gone! Scam! Beware! on: April 20, 2012, 09:33:26 AM
@OP: Tell your story or get out. Cryptoxchange goes out of its way to be an honest business. If you have a general complaint with them, please feel free to voice it. If there is wrong doing, we'd all support you (so would they!), but this basically looks like drivel intended to slander.

Give details. Give explanations. And if that's all too personal, then why are you here?

Dollartrader's top logo has my vote at this point. Matthew's point is a good one about including "pirate" themes in the logo; might drive away investors who do not get the joke.

The joke to me being that banks take your money, and so do pirates.

honestly id trust a real pirate over a real banker...

And you run a company in bitcoin where you hold people's money? Yikes.

why do people keep posting a frog in an icecube?

Quoted for comedy gold. That is "imageshack" and some places are blocked/disallowed so it shows the imageshack logo. I always encourage people to use imgur.com instead if imageshack.us. I used to support them, but not anymore.

I would like to formally inquire as to the status of my whitelist. I too am interested in receiving this high honor in the community and feel that it is owed to me due to my contributions to the community and this forum, productively and monetarily. I have posted over 4000 messages on this bulletin board system and although I met the required posting count deemed necessary by the sysop and am no longer constrained to the area of beginners, my status is not that of the distinguished "whitelist" elite. I do not understand this and I hereby formally request, hai guyz when can i haz whitelist?
3834  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Logo Design (Decision will be made 4/21/2012 12:00 AM CST) on: April 19, 2012, 12:28:44 PM
A couple more revisions. I'll pass along any design ideas..

I like the first one for the style, but honestly I have to question the mindset behind OP for asking for a pirate to be associated with people's savings/trust. The only thing better than that would be if he turned out to be a scammer. I mean, come on people.

Did the weatherman mention the exact day this storm should happen or was it a Long-Range Forecast?

Don't leave home next week without your umbrella.

Will they all be shipping at once, or 1 per day?

I'm not in charge of shipping, but I'd prefer if they dropped from the sky so that JennyHill will be able to use their umbrella.
