4281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you don't need to think of ranking up? on: January 30, 2021, 07:09:21 AM
The primary focus should be learning and everything else will follow. If newbies are here only for rank and making money then I am sorry to say they won't last long enough on this forum as they will commit some mistake and then they will get banned.

I have been learning different things in this forum after being part of it this forum for three years now. Still I feel there are many things I still need to learn from the senior ranking members.
4282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 29, 2021, 03:22:10 PM
Nothing new whenever their is a big pump exchanges do tend to get stuck due to high volume. Their have been many instances when such issue have happened with coinbase. Still they have not learnt from the past.
4283  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] FAKE Trezor website - Phishing Attempt! on: January 28, 2021, 04:05:43 PM
This is also known as a Homograph attack or Punycode phishing. It can be detected and you can configure your browser to display the original site and not the fake version.
I am sorry to say but it is not required if your browser is up to date. The next thing you can do it download Firefox browser it comes with these anti mechanism.

wwzsocki has written about this in great detail. You can find his thread below:
Punycode and how to protect yourself from Homograph Phishing attacks?

HTTPS encryption means nothing nowadays. You can purchase cheap SSL encryptions for a few dollars. The best thing to do is to type the site manually in the browser and bookmark the legit version. Never rely on Google searches, especially on google ads to take you to site where you are required to enter private or financial information.

HTTPS means secure in Google terms. It does mean a lot of you are making purchase or dealing with fiat. Please do not say it does not mean anything.
4284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 28, 2021, 01:06:02 PM
South Africa is playing carefully but they just lost a couple of quick wickets. They are not having any substantial lead either and they have just lost another wicket which is pathetic, i was expecting a good fight back but it looks like they are tired of batting any longer  Grin.

Finally Pakistan might win the match after some disappointing series, with the inconsistencies you can only confirm once the match is over Cheesy .

Yeah the chance of Pakistan winning this match is vey high. I think for a change they are not inconsistent. South Africa on the other hand have been struggling a lot. The have already lost 4 wicket and they might lose a few more if they play like this.
4285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Beware, Traps from scammers via Telegram Groups on: January 28, 2021, 12:06:23 PM
I know this scam and I have been approached many times by scammers asking for help. They generally ask you help in transferring Ethereum, they will say they are short on gas and want some eth to be transferred to the wallet for which they will pay you half of the balance. As soon as you transfer the wallet becomes empty. Stay away from such offers on Telegram as they are all scams
4286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank with their crypto project on: January 28, 2021, 11:06:47 AM
Do not.mix up with digital currency and cryptocurrency. Banks create digital currency and are centralized. Whereas cryptocurrency is based on decentralization and are mainly governed by the community.

I have not read any banks coming up with their cryptocurrency, I have read about countries coming up with cryptocurrency.
4287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 'BuyUCoin exchange' data breach on: January 27, 2021, 03:17:23 AM
Commonly problem of a most centralized exchanger.

There's nothing to panic about if there's a BuyUcoin user here, you can simply change your password or if they are using emails they must also change this too.  Once it is breached, it easy for hackers to send emails or trying to log in and get the fund, but as an exchange said, users are protected with 2FA verification which is much better to protect their account if there is a transaction that will happen just like transferring of the fund.

Anyway, thanks for sharing here, probably users of this exchange will get alarmed too with this announcement.
This is not that simple when you have sensitive bank information out and open for all scammers there will be  consequences. India does not have a concrete privacy law like other countries. Scammer and spammers are more found in India and there have been instances in the past where scammers were able to access the bank account of individuals just by having IFSC code and account number. So the situation is much more serious now then it looks like.

P.S - I do not hold any account with this exchange.

4289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what have you learn? what do you need to learn? on: January 27, 2021, 02:54:00 AM
Learning is a never ending process and if it's related to technology then your whole life would be less. Technology is changing everyday and when you are into cryptocurrency it is changing every hour. I started with ICO then shifted to IEO and now into DEFI all this within a span of just two years. I do not know what new will come next but Inam confident that I will be the first to know about it as I am part of the BTT community.
4290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 24, 2021, 04:28:12 AM
Recent series against Australia showed the positivity of IPL. Gill's pull shot against Strac, his cut against Cummins over third man. Debutant Washington Sunder hooking against no 1 bowler Cummins are couple of good examples.

As Gavaskar recently said that future looks good for Indian cricket but don't allow this fame to get into their head, it might destroy everything.

IPL has seen many of the youngsters receiving multi-crore contracts. Players who are still in their teens may receive 3-4 crore INR per year. But in some cases when the players suddenly receive this much money in a short term, they forget that a lot of work still remains to be done and they become complacent. One example that comes to my mind right now is that of Sarfaraz Khan (Kings XI Punjab).
Not everyone has the same issue, there more players who after receiving such yearly pay had the target of being part of the Indian A team. Look at Shiraz and Natarajan both came from the lower middle class and are still down to earth and have been trying very hard to get a permanent place in Indian team. They are also part of IPL teams and have been payed handsomely in the past.
4291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Companies Use Symbols Similar to That of Bitcoin? on: January 24, 2021, 04:13:24 AM
Out of the three listed name the logo of Bollinger Motors looks very similar to Bitcoin logo. I wouldn't be suprised if they say they were inspired by Bitcoin logo.

This is a nice bit of research and you are right there are many companies who are using the alphabet "B" as a logo. These three are surely very close.
4292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Celebrity Rapper "Soulja Boy" tries to buy XRP on Coinbase, but guess what? on: January 24, 2021, 04:01:44 AM
What he is doing is nothing but to grab attention from the Ripple community. It has been already stated by Coinbase that XRP trading has been halted, after that if he is still trying to buy XRP he will get such error message. To what extent these celebrities can go in order to gain attention and stay in the limelight is nothing new. I will not be surprised if he comes out with a song related to this issue.
4293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin halal? on: January 23, 2021, 05:18:45 PM
Strange!!

No one is asking or forcing anyone to invest in Bitcoin if it against your religion then why to discuss it. Bitcoin is a choice and if you believe in the choice then you should be part of it.

Why bring religion into a technology that has disrupted the financial industry and is now questioning the existence of Fiat currency. I think this post is very irrelevant on this forum.
4294  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Polkadot(DOT) website and fake app in Google Play on: January 23, 2021, 02:43:03 PM
This is getting quite serious every day there is a new topic about fake apps on Google playstore. Why is Google not able to takle this issue? They have so much money can't they create a software to monitor such fake apps. They themselves are ruining their reputation.

It is better to avoid Google play store for downloading any kind of apps who know there can be fake clones of big apps too.
4295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 23, 2021, 12:00:20 PM

Teams for first 2 tests
-Kohli leading the team and Hardik is making comeback.
-Jadeja/Shami are injured.
-Axar Patel selection is bit confusing but Gill, Shardul, Siraj, Denzel Washington Sundar are reaping the rewards.
-Dan Lawrence is exciting name in the English squad, watch out for this young cricketer.
Kohli and Sharma back so look like they are going with full force and this is good for match but not good for selectors because now they have tough time many youngsters after very good tour of Australia now want to do good at home against England but 3 players back which bring some good number of changes Dan Lawrence is done good in first test hopefully he will also do some good in India as already understanding pitches in this part of world.

Rohit Sharma was already part of the squad that played with Australia. Virat had taken a leave and was supposed to join back the team before the series starts. The good news is that many youngsters have been given a chance in this squad. I think this team should dominate the upcoming series.
4296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: KoinOS - Buy next ETH now for cents like early eth whales on: January 23, 2021, 11:49:56 AM
It looks like a shilling post.

Earlier they used to compare every coin with Bitcoin and after the recent surge, they have now started comparing every project with Ethereum. What does this mean? This means to accumulate more Ethereum as it will be pumping soon. Grin

I am not shilling ETH but I am only following the trend.
4297  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PayPal Fake 5.000 BTC Giveaway Airdrop in Youtube on: January 23, 2021, 07:47:48 AM
That was quick, the video stream is already down:

Quote
This video has been removed for violating YouTube's policy on spam, deceptive practices, and scams.

And it's good if Youtube are going to remove it very quick so that no newbies are going to fall for it.

What already removed!!
That was pretty fast for YouTube, in general you keep reporting such shits and they keep ignoring your report.

But good to read that, thankfully only few people saw it and I hope no one fall for it.
4298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin? on: January 23, 2021, 07:28:59 AM
It all depends on your level of understanding. If you are a noob then invest in the top 50 altcoins on CMC. If you are able to analyse and understand the concept of a project then invest in IEO or ICO. It all depends on how much you are able to deduce a project based on the white paper.
4299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another attempt to manipulate the market on: January 23, 2021, 07:18:26 AM
Still they were not able to drag the price below 30k as most investors have been in this business for a couple of years now. Those who invested in Bitcoin during the recent Bull run were the ones who panicked and sold it. Now they will regret there decision. They thought that Bitcoin will reach 50k on a short span of time and they will make good profit because they were here for the money and not the concept.
4300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 22, 2021, 11:02:25 AM
It was supposed to happen Rahane was only a replacement for Kohli for the Australian series. Now sice Kohli is free he can join back the squad. I do not think performance from the up coming series will affect kohli. After all he has a lot of support from the team and the management.
