Hey Rob, Were you able to get an End of Year Statement from Compassion?
Id love to get it posted in our Bitcointalk Investigation thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030640.0

I have a report from Compassion, they did give us an up to month (sort of in the end-of-year format) but the woman said something like
Dont bother us again - we wont do it for you again - but I thought, wait a minute, the web site is broken because we have too many childrens records in it,
so we have a right to ask again LOL, but Ill talk about this more later.  Ill also provide the link for this report.

EDIT: Is this it?
http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/BiblePay_audit_2018.pdf

Darn, its kind of hard for me to understand it, hmmm

any info about stratis?

October Update
https://wiki.biblepay.org/October_Update
"deprioritization of Stratis. This is primarily because Rob believes that Stratis is still in a volatile state, and those devs are working hard to bring it up to the level of Bitcoin"

November Update
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=292.0
"One major change to our roadmap is our official position on Stratis. Although we still stand behind stratis and their core mission, and wish to remain informed and align ourselves with the potential value in the stratis codebase, many factors influence using stratis-c# as the primary production platform. The considerations being evaluated include: The latest bitcoin security commits, segwit, BLS and BLS secret-sharing, Dash's evolution commits, the lightning network, on chain storage, etc. In general, I want to first give kudos to the main devs of stratis. They are doing something almost impossible in order to get stratis to be compatible with the latest bitcoin version. Where we have to make our decision however, is weighing the benefits of the most cutting edge - to be released features in bitcoin and dash. Biblepay has discovered that it needs certain boilerplate abilities, and, pending IPFS integration, maps to IPFS, Segwit and potentially some of the latest Dash features (for reasons explained later).

Additionally, there are over 100 features that have been added to bitcoin and dash-QT, that the existing features users have become very accustomed to (for example coin control), the HD wallets supporting features, etc. In light of this, I will be recommending that we adjust our roadmap to move stratis to 'R&D (research and development)' for future consideration and integration, but we move the Dash rebase to our more short term priorities. The goal is for us to do the due diligence on rebasing biblepay to have the latest dash features, so that we can leverage some of the latest features to store our IPFS relationship in a more resilient manner (IE our business objects). In summary, this means pushing Stratis out to 2022 and considering it an R&D project, and moving Dash Rebase to June 2019. Also relying on Dash's release as our PR event to be released with any other large BBP feature that is worthy of a giant PR event."
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay✟CPU✟Governance✟Help Orphans✟PODC Cancer Mining✟Deflationary✟Masternodes on: December 05, 2018, 06:13:01 PM
Regarding Biblepay's rebase with Dash, status of code rebase is 64% of the command line daemon and client (QT UI will be left for later on).
I'm leaving miner stuff for the last phase to avoid rebasing code that might change.

After pure code rebase I see these tasks:
- Review with Rob all the biblepay code conficts with new Dash features (DIP2, 3, 4)
- Then try to compile biblepayd, biblepay-cli
- Create a workable devnet.
- Meanwhile in parallel start the QT rebase effort.
- When devnet is working, move on to testnet and check through the masternode migration plan, to test that each step is flowing fine.

Every task in this list will require considerable time and effort, but it will be well worth it I think.

Right now MIP is working full time on Dash commits - and has exceeded my expectations btw in every way

Thank you for all of your hard work MIP! AMAZING PROGRESS!

You have my vote for any budget funds you need for your work!

(Is there an address where we can send you donations?)

I remember Rob and Sunk were both talking with SimpleSwap a couple months ago,
were we able to make a deal with them?

https://simpleswap.io/

I think the issue is he e-mailed you at your biblepay address and I just replied and said to give us a couple weeks to work some things out and he replied to all and said OK.

He had a couple questions to you about twitter I think.

I transferred ownership of @BiblePay Twitter to Thesnat21:

Twitter Admins and Contributors are managed on TweetDeck:

BiblePay Ownership List:

Last I can remember, I agreed to SimpleSwap's social media / advertising requests they had, 3-4 twitter posts, etc

I can send you my personal email address if you'd like to add me to the email chain to help move this forward,
I believe this is a good opportunity to jump on, and Im willing to help if no one else will Wink

And the rich get richer...

How do the rich get richer in BiblePay?

If BiblePay value goes up 2x, all BiblePay coins value goes up 2x, someone elses doesnt somehow go up 3x? >.>

Also from what I have read, most rich people lose their money by the 2nd generation of their family:

"About seven in 10 wealthy families lose their fortune by the second generation, according to a study of more than 3,200 high-net worth families by the Williams Group wealth consultancy. By the third generation that number has jumped to 90%"
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/heres-why-90-of-rich-people-squander-their-fortunes-2017-04-23

The only thing I could think of for someone rich to get richer in BiblePay is if they owned majority of masternodes and voted themselves all the budget rewards every month for free, but that sounds like a really bad strategy, How does that increase the value of BiblePay? You would do it one time and people would leave and price would go down.

The Free Market is truly in control, BiblePay is bound by the Free Market, BiblePay has to appeal to investors, miners, users, etc. And Investors can leave, Miners can leave, People can choose not to download and install BiblePay or choose not to update to latest version of the code, etc etc. BiblePay can only grow through adoption. BiblePay has to appeal to people to succeed.

=

On the topic of Proof of Giving (POG) vs Proof of Distributed Computing (PODC), I believe removing staking will lead to more masternodes being created meaning that all current masternode operators will make LESS money

Multiple people believe that miners will sell their stake if staking is removed, Im not sure, in my eyes BBP price is lower than its ever been, so anyone selling would be selling at a heavy loss (but some may really need the money and/or are willing to take the loss and move on to something else)

Just talking out loud,
I dont know which people made forum accounts, and how many of the forum accounts are the same person
(its easy for some to create multiple email addresses and use different IP addresses)

We also dont know how much each of these forum accounts has invested into BiblePay

I am also not sure how actively people read bitcointalk or the biblepay forum,
(a proposal at least shows up in everyones wallet)

Basically what I am trying to say is, I trust masternode votes a lot more than forum votes,
but I understand forum votes usefulness with multiple choices and quick feedback,
but masternode votes are actually based on how much money someone has invested!

I believe a more true decision on project direction should come from a masternode vote
(Though I do kind of think miners should get voting power with their staked coins)

BiblePay's Monthly Budget paid out recently,

Looks like over 1 million BBP coins were not used and got burned!

Anyone can create a proposal to use budget funds, only costs 2500 BBP to create a proposal
and you can create it from your wallet!

Again a self-moderated thread? Even though your intentions are now good, nobody can know what could happen in the future, who will disagree with whom, who will be on which side etc.

The only way a thread is valid if it's not a self-moderated one. That way it doesn't matter who started it because they cannot censor the posts. The only posts which do need to be deleted are straight-up profanity, hard insults etc. And for that we already have the moderators of this forum, so there is not a single reason to have a self-moderated thread, unless the OP is scared of somebody sharing thoughts which don't align with their views.

The original ANN thread was Unmoderated, but sadly it had to be locked because of the spammers/trolls

There are Bitcointalk forum admins, but they have limited time/interest
and they have their own opinions/biases (their own rules basically say they can do what they want haha)

The Unmoderated thread got kind of crazy, and I believe most of it was not against the forum rules

I think there is a need for a Moderated thread, but who should be the Moderator? I dont know,
it would be great if it could be a community system vs a dictatorship

I offer an alternative to Robs thread since there currently is no alternative,
I also offer an alternative design

I doubt my thread will get used, Im not pushing for it, just opening it as an option

Rob has shown to be slow to update the ANN,
and for months he purposefully left out critical keywords from the title

Rob is a busy man, he has other priorities and work he is doing,
I believe we need more people to step up and do things

But anyways, I would support trying out a non-moderated thread again Smiley

If we stay self moderated though, I believe we need to discuss and make clear our forum rules

Edit: Also, BiblePayFaucet.com has been down for a while. Perhaps updating this page https://www.biblepay.org/freebbp/#faucets to reflect that?
I should've posted when I decided to take it offline but whatever. This forum has been a mess with petty shit that I don't want anything to do with. I'm not gonna keep the site up it was never that well coded or optimized the server was way to expensive and it was still really slow. I also own biblepaypool.com and never did anything with it they both expire on December 26th 2018 if anyone wants to register.

I really liked your faucet SEO! Thank you for running it
For future tinkerers, was there a certain code base that you used?
This was my previous research on faucets below to anyone interested

Recently I advertised on WCG forums, Rosetta@home forums, I reached out to Team Christians, I advertised on BOINC subreddit
Combined probably only got like 300-400+ views though, 70% from BOINC reddit, the BOINC Cruncher guide has 220 views so far
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=314.0

PODC setup is not easy/user friendly, but we havent even made a good guide, and we dont even have a Youtube tutorial!
(guy who made a mining setup video for BiblePay got 3,000 views!, pretty sure it became outdated when PODC came out,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1yKx8KsH60 [60-70% of the population are visual learners!])

=

We have all been early adopters and beta testers I feel like the BiblePay code is stable now

If we truly want to beat out and consume Gridcoin and get all the BOINC Crunchers I believe we should rebrand away from Christianity being the main focus/name,
reading all the Gridcoin Discord/Reddit/Slack messages the past year, I dont think Ive seen one religious person there, but I have seen religion joked about a few times, the WCG forums also had someone with a Freedom From Religion signature (our biggest reddit post was about us reaching rank 666 on coinmarketcap..., weve also been attacked by bitcointalk forum mod and high ranking member for being religious coin...) The current crypto population is not very open to religion, I think this will change as more people get into crypto, but for now, that is the case

=

Assuming we want to keep Christianity as a key focus of the coin
and that we want as many miners as possible (1 click mining),
I think moving away from PODC is a good idea then

It does suck though, because I believe the direction Rob has gone with Masternodes and POBH/PODC as superior to Gridcoin/Foldingcoin/Curecoin,
and PODC is one of the coolest things we do, Id support BiblePay 1 click mining coin and a rebranded Science Fork coin, though sounds like a mess supporting 2 coins

=

I have to re-read Proof of Giving (POG) and Proof of Orphan Mining (POOM) some more
https://wiki.biblepay.org/Concept_POOM
https://wiki.biblepay.org/Proof-of-Giving

With POOM, I didnt like that all of our private info is on one service, but I love how it decentralizes the orphan sponsorships!

With POG, the coins all go the Orphan Address? Who controls that address?
Is POG similar to Proof of Burn? Are there reasons why other coins haven't really used Proof of Burn?
(theres been a ton of bad PR lately about how Bitcoin/crypto uses so much energy, this sounds like an interesting solution)
