443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ETC] EternalCoin * Afterlife Currency * Launched! * on: April 10, 2014, 06:12:54 AM
Now I found a block and it didn't go into my wallet. IDK what's up with this coin but I smell something fishy.   Roll Eyes

There are still alot of orphans because the diff is not high enough for the current network hashrate.  Normally, orphans would show up in your transaction history with a question mark next to them (generated but not accepted) but for some reason the ETC wallet doesn't display them at all, or they will show up for a second or two and then disappear.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ETC] EternalCoin * Afterlife Currency * Launched! * on: April 10, 2014, 06:00:13 AM
This coin is likely to have tremendous problems very soon.

Another clone of Litecoin, using the Litecoin diff algo - which means max diff adjustment of 400% upwards, and uses expected versus actual block height to determine next difficulty

As of this post, we are at block 2601 right now.  With 1-minute block times, we shouldn't be hitting block 2601 until 43.5 hours after the coin launch.  We are over 10x ahead of schedule right now in terms of block height.

This means at the next diff adjustment, regardless of the current network hashrate, it will go up the max 400% of current diff, which would be 4.0, even though the net hashrate demands roughly 2.8 for the next diff.

Depending on how far ahead of schedule we are after that diff adjustment, it may go up even higher - even as the net hashrate continues to drop.  Within a day or two, network block times will be measured in hours, not minutes.

I'm not getting payments from airpool.org, there's also no option for request a manual payout. Anyone else with this issue?

I am having the same issue.  I sent an email to their contact page two minutes ago about it.

I've sent an email also, let's see what happens. BTW, any other good pool?

http://air.pitythepool.com has been running since launch day, I have been mining there practically from the start.

Network is still a little wacky -- but we are finding valid blocks about every 3-4 minutes on http://etc.pitythepool.com

Yeah but are they rejects? I've had 9 Booos, and one Accepted.

see above - VALID BLOCKS

No need to yell, I'm just a little slow tonight, sorry Tongue

No worries mate, I'm tired too Smiley

453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin on: April 09, 2014, 01:37:49 PM
Alright, I'm back on board with Aircoin. Looking forward to the verification period, and getting in early with the new launch. To make it run smoothly, they are going to have offer some plan to deal with people that might want to claim their new Aircoins and then sell them to someone else that may try the same thing. Are they going to take a snapshot at one time to verify who has the coins?

I was worried about this as well, but there are a few ways to mitigate duplicate trade-ins for new AIR.

The import method mentioned above by mudshark79 is one way.

Another way would be for TeamAIRcoin to just collect old wallet addresses (do not check balances) during the 72-hour verification window.  At the end of the verification period, simply record the balance of each wallet at the moment the verification period ends, this is the amount of new AIR each wallet holder will receive.  Basically, you get new AIR equal to whatever your old wallet balance is at XX:XX exact time.

This would prevent people from submitting one wallet with 1,000 AIR, then transferring to another wallet and submitting a second time.

When the coin is released, old AIR holders will need to submit their old wallet address, plus new wallet address.  TeamAIR would then need to match these addresses to wallets submitted during the verification period, and send coins to their new address.

456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HEX] HeisenbergHEX: Transparent Blue Hexadecimal Scrypt [Updated!] on: April 08, 2014, 03:14:10 PM
v1 has to be the current wallet everyone uses.

To my knowledge there is no GitHub source for the v2 wallet.  I just downloaded and compiled from here (https://github.com/HeisenbergCoin/HeisenbergHex) and it is the v1 wallet.

Without compilable source, most pools and exchanges will not be able to upgrade to v2.  There are some exceptions, but most cannot because they don't have a Windows box available to run the wallet on.  Besides that, Windows wallets don't work well with pools; the UI starts getting all glitchy when your Transactions tab gets too large (reaching 50,000 transactions takes no time at all on a busy pool or exchange)

Just my BTC0.02

How did this coin fork and have pools like hashfever paying out to v2 fork then? I mean if they are using linux and no v2 wallet for linux? Strange.

Cause my v2 wallet was receiving coins from pools when my v1 wallet does not.

perhaps v2 wallet not only problem.

I am guessing that they are running the Windows wallet on V2.  My pool is using the Windows V1 wallet (http://hex.pitythepool.com), I used the Windows wallet rather than Linux simply because it was available faster at launch so I could get the pool running ASAP.

When the new wallet came out I did not upgrade, I had no idea it even existed until I started reading this thread.  Shame on the OP for not notifying the pool owners, which should *always* be done when a mandatory upgrade/fork comes out - for the pools listed in the OP, at least.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, all the AIR Beta I submit during the verification window will be honored 1:1 with the new AIRcoin.

My AIR Beta is not destroyed or exchanged, I get to keep it?  For every AIR Beta that I own right now, I get a matching "new" AIRcoin?

If that's the case, why on earth isn't everyone buying assloads of AIR right now?  If the rewards structure is the same, 3.72 coins per block, it would a long time to mine 1,000 coins, especially on Scrypt-N.  This many coins can be had for a mere 0.1-0.2 BTC at current prices.

459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin on: April 07, 2014, 09:24:32 PM
Quote from: AIRcoin
Next, we will prepare a code for the full version of AIRcoin, including the variable block reward and improved investment system. Before it is released however, we will announce (with 72 hours in advance) a 72 hour verification period where users of the coin will be able to verify their wallet addresses (and the amount of AIRcoin beta inside them), after which we will have a giveaway for the new blockchain based on the amount within the wallets during verification. This gives users plenty of time to buy or sell AIRcoin in advance of this news.
So are we getting a 1:1 exchange of AIRcoin-Betacoins to AIRcoin? (Or proportional, if initial reward is not the same, to start.)

^^THIS^^

Your post above is unclear on whether this is actually happening or not - will we be able to convert our existing AIRcoin into the new AIRcoin?  "Giveaway" implies you're just doing a random promotion to give away an amount of AIR equal to the amount verified during the verification period.  We are going to be compensated for the existing AIRcoin we have in our wallets, correct?

First of all, thanks for your work!

In the screenshot above, it still shows a "Current # of blocks" higher than the "Estimated total blocks" -- shouldn't these be the other way around?  Current blocks should always be lower than or equal to the total blocks, right?
