From me as well.
My review of two V1 X2s is in cue to publish I would love to add that there is a newer miner and or new controller software coming out soon.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks Bobsag3 and Minersource.net for being able to do the review.  I will link it here when it goes live.  Smiley

Latest price update:
$350 for 1 miner (4 boards) with 1 Rpi. 620GH/s. $0.56/GHs. 648W.
$640 for 2 miners (8 boards) with 1 Rpi. 1.2TH/s+. $0.53/GHs. 1296W.

Any plans for a more efficient design, similar to the improvements implemented in the asicminer prisma? Doubling the chip density could get ~600gh/450w per miner, and improvements like this are necessary with the rising difficulty. >1w/gh is no longer a good buy for most people paying >$0.10/kwh

BTCGuild is supported use this stratum address exactly.
Code:
stratum-lb-usa48.btcguild.com

I read on the original Prisma forum that the ethernet controllers "don't work"? What is the problem with them? I am running just one unit. I believe I have a RPI around, I will have to check my stash.

They work, but they are currently limited to ghash.io, slush, and a few other smaller pools. RPi would allow access to more pools. AM is still working on the firmware for their BE controller, so it's possible they will support more pools in the future.

OK, thanks. As long as I can mine with it. Thanks. I will probably find an RPI just to see how it works. BTCGuild would be great if they could support next with the Ethernet controller.

I am just checking in to see if there is any new updates to the software on the way?
The update feature still says nothing new.
When you do update it can you please make sure to fix the API issues so MultiMiner and other software can see it for monitoring?

Thanks again.

You definitely could do that.
The problem is do you think you would get an answer?

There is no topic, do you not understand that?
You mean, I could even ask whether the Eastern mistletoe of North America has sticky pulp inside its berries, like the European mistletoe?

Lightfoot does wonders with BFL products.
I will refrain from bashing BFL they have done enough to themselves and their customers already.

Lightfoot and anyone else reading I am still trying to source one Monarch for a review.  If anyone can send me one I can ship it back after 1 week or if the price is low enough I may be able to get and investor to help me buy it.

Thanks again OgNasty for keeping us up to date.

 Smiley

Bad news.  I received a PSU today and tried getting the 2 troublesome Monarchs running.  They immediately blew the new PSU.  It's clear they will need to be RMA'd.  With the current BFL situation, I am just going to sit on them for the moment.  Bitcointalk member lightfoot has offered to try and fix them for us, so it is nice to still have options regardless of the outcome with BFL.

What the hell is the topic anymore?

Why not?

can't YOU just, please, stay on topic?

Still waiting to see on that as well.
The GPIO is used with the BTCGardens for the Pi and most likely is the way we will go with the Pi controller or a possible USB adapter once we get more info from FriedCat.
Juan at 112bit is serious about the Pi controller as is Novak.

Excuse me if this has already been explained, but how does a Pi control this one?  My understanding is you can use the same Ethernet controller as the Tube on the Prisma, so how does a Pi interface with the Prisma (and take the place of the Ethernet controller)? Do you go GPIO on the Pi to the 3 pins on the Prisma?  Is there a different interface on the Prisma?

Also, if the same Ethernet controller works on both this and the Tube, has someone figured out how to use a Pi to control a Tube?  Using cgminer on a Tube would be pretty cool...

Is it fun in the off topic area?

Is it because people (like you in this instance) feel like they can pick and choose any post to answer, when they are only supposed to "Answer the question above with a question"?  Roll Eyes
Why would I follow the rules of the game and not just pick and choose any post to answer, when there's no government to coerce me? Grin
Are there rules for off-topic threads?
Do you really believe your posts can't be deleted by a mod for being off-topic even though this the off-topic section of the forum?
Hm, do you think that there a market for a forum devoted entirely to off-topic posts on off-topic threads?
Do you mean like this Totally Off-Topic thread?

Hi Friedcat is there a cable to connect the Pi to the miner that is available as well?
Do you also think your version of cgminer can have the changes added to the main trunk of cgminer?

Does it have the same internal software problems as the Tube?
Or is the stratum implementation fixed this time?
Hopefully your custom cgminer version doesn't have the same problems also.
The cgminer differs from the main branch in only the communication to the device
and some part of the USB driver. Other parts are not modified.

It would also be open source.

You should be able to tell yourself.
Why can't you?

Im not sure could u tell me??

I will have some updates closer to the end of the week  Grin

Cool I'm looking forward to getting 5.
Keep up the great work.

What is memory really?

What if no questions remain?
Didn't we ask this question several times before?
Do you have memory issues?
You mean, like parity errors or memory exhausted?
453  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: September 23, 2014, 06:28:59 AM
No they are not.
They just give lame silence when anyone asks about getting the buggy stratum implementation fixed on their controller.
They should get about a 7/10 to possibly an 8/10 as they do reply on anything else asked of them.

In the next update you also might want to consider changing AM's rating for communication to 10/10

From what I can tell FC/team seem pretty active resolving issues and what not.

Yes HolyBitcoin is still up and running.
They also have updated pricing recently as well.

any updates to this website?

This is a good idea. We will have to see about doing this as both coins are great and made for helping people. ☺
Let's get gravitate in here and gets this get things setup.

...  ethical coins unite ..., let's join forces for specific projects.    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791247.msg8916955#msg8916955

Do you have a specific project that relates to science and are looking for a support partner, if so call on Einsteinium we will do what we can to forward your project.

Support partners usually will pledge to retweet, provide comments, likes, small donations, and endorsements for specific events they choose to get involved with.

Einsteinium is a 'cause coin' we seek to provide funding for science endeavors, we are seeking project partners for small projects involving: educational science. science fairs, science instructors (teachers, professors, mentors, etc ...), or anything else that has a heavy science influence.
456  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Technobit project HEX4RB - 4 chip RockerBox ASic based board on: September 19, 2014, 09:37:43 PM
I agree it is time for more refinement in those areas to both help power consumption and heat dissipation.
The odd board arrangements hinder that.

why so many power connectors?

Why not, its just a test board and there's plenty of board space. For the retail boards you just don't dont drop PCI-E connectors through and leave them as empty connections.

I personally would have preferred the chips to be centralised and squashed together more so we could have used standardised PC heatsinks cooling all 4 chips. 350W can be done with one higher end air heatsink or basic 120mm watercooling. I think its time we moved away from these strange aluminium blocks with obscene fans to make up for the low surface areas.

That does look like a beast for sure.
It is something to look into you are right.
With more powerful hardware coming out there is a large need for something like the Novena.

I agree they are under powered.
The issue is a stand alone controller that is not a mess like the BE200 is needed.
Since FriedCat cannot be bothered to open source that controller even a bit so people can fix it, it is a mess.
The sad fact is the BE200 controller is powerful but with a dodgy stratum implementation and crashing out all the time it makes it not a fun unit.
I am not sure what a good replacement would be for it though.  We thought to start with a RPi and see what can be done.
I expect the Novena to be a potentially nice platform to host miners due to its FPGA (which can be programmed to accelerate the host-side work production).
Unfortunately, it's $550 - quite a bit more pricy than a RPi/BBB.
Maybe someone with hardware experience would know how to build a cheaper/stripped-down version (ideally compatible so the Novena can be used as a dev platform).

Ah I see so it is not direct support just the Proxy support.
MultiMiner and BFGMiner do work well with Proxy's which is nice.
Thanks for clearing that up.
We are looking to get an RPi working as a controller with them directly as opposed to being a proxy.
Thanks for the great work.  Smiley
This is definitely something I'd like to see happen too - my Tube/T1 controller likes to crash every hour or two. Sad
Unfortunately, hardware is outside of my field - so while I could guess at how to try to hook it up to a RPi, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with breaking new ground in that area.
Why a RPi though? Even a BBB is really underpowered for hosting something of this hashrate... and RPi is far worse :|

I have a question on the ASICMiner Tube and Rockminer T1.
How are you connecting it to the computer to run them from BFGminer?
I know we are looking into to RPi support and there are some different ways to connect them as they do not have a USB port.
Run BFGMiner with --stratum-port 3333 and configure the Tube/T1 controller to talk to it.

It works great for me.  No issues at all.

Does anyone else have problems with getting MobileMiner working on Minera? I've got both on my tablet and phone only the old MinePeon installation I had before. Even made a new account, but nothing worked Sad
