Thanks for the help guys.  I rebooted and changed from one miner software to another and back again to cpuminer and it started working.  but I think I would need to install a fresh minera soon.

Why doesn't all the people using this nice software to launch their own pool?  Mining coins the community of users vote for?

I've just added my rig to miningrigrentals.com. Had to use this trick to get it working as it needs some special port to work.

Does anybody who's with Minera on MRR have experienced any problems over time? Or was everything working smoothly after adding the right port?
You will be fine over time, unless you stop using MRR for a period of 24+hours, then you will need to repeat the steps.
Thanks for that info. Because then it's not safe to leave it running with no control over it for longer than a day or so.

Michelem, is it possible to do something about that? Or is it just something in CPUminer?
It's the way CPU miner connects to the pool. It usually will forward the 3333 to the 5**** port number, but in CPUminer's case, AFAIK, it doesn't which is why you have to manually specify the port.
Because then it's not safe to leave it running with no control over it for longer than a day or so
What??

Because then it's not safe to leave it running with no control over it for longer than a day or so
What??

Well, in Minera I would specify the local MRR server and the second closest one. But I wouldn't want to add all my pools under that since Minera has the tendency to stick to the lowest set of pools even when the others work (see donation pool problems).

So if for some reason the port would change I would have to login to Minera. Which is not possible when I'm on the road. So it's not a 100% safe unless I fill in failover pools hoping that it won't go beyond the 2 MRR pools Wink

If you mean the G-Blade, yes I'm running one with cpuminer. No problems so far.

Never heard of it, but it will work if cgminer or bfgminer supports it.

If it needs its own special version, than you can compile it, replace the original in minera, and then your good to go.

If my advice has helped you out, feel free to throw some Satoshi's my way!

I've been running 6 gridseeds (5.2mhs each)now for months @ a clock of 838 and the run flawless on minera..
just got my ZeusMiner Hurricane X3 (15mhs) and I was wondering if it possible to run
the 6 Gridseeds and a Zeus Hurricane x3 on the same RPi using Minera?
or should I just get another RPi for the Hurricane?

Thanks..

I would use a separate RPi for the Hurricane.

I'm trying to run minera with my 6 gridseed miners. What is the best miner to use? I would like to run the gridseeds at 850mhz. Ans what is the best way to start things up, first minera and than connect the miners? I tried running them with cpuminer on minera but the hasing speed is around half what it should be!

I was thinking that since CGminer Dmaxl Zeus fork should run both the gridseeds and the Zeusminers, then I
would just need to set the frequency's for them in the option tab..
I think the zeusminer is done like this -S zus:all --set zus:chips=64 --set zus:clock=328
but I'm not sure about the gridseed settings.  -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=838 or
"gc3355-detect": true, "freq": "838"..
